A three part BBC show from 2001 about many of the most infamous horrible events that can be linked to the Tower of London (most which will be familiar to you if you were ever a student in England, or are a fan of the Game of Thrones incidents directly inspired by this stuff.)

The show is presented here edited together into one 2 hour plus program, on the Chronicle channel, which is run by HistoryHit, the niche streaming platform that apparently bought the rights to this show? I don't know. They repost Time Team too, and you can't easily find that anywhere, so I suppose they have it officially.

This Tales from the Tower show is great fun because it is the perfect example of these kinds of infotainment programs from the late 1990s / early 2000s. I don't know if the US History Channel started all this, but they did it well, and so did the BBC. Tons of pop history and science and g-g-ghost shows with a veneer of truthiness about them. But most of their information is sensational sub-high school level trivia they paid an intern nothing to copy out of a discredited old encyclopedia.

This show in particular eagerly ramps up the tales of the horrid and the macabre...which it then immediately and endearingly undercuts with hammy acting and glossy cheapo video filming and production design reminiscent of the soap operas these very people also got paid to make.

And the stock sound effects - my god. I realize that in 2001 AAA video games were still a thing for extra turbo nerds. The average person would not immediately recognize and laugh at Stock Scream #47 from that one giant sound library everyone in the Western world uses for everything. But this is 22 years later and this all now plays like a YouTuber's ironic comedy skit.

And I have such nostalgia for this era of pab. There was still a simple naivete to these shows, like you suspected the producers thought you were stupid, but it wasn't painfully obvious quite yet. This was the step before Zak Bagans and that Ancient Aliens dick just went full bullshit graft. I miss this.

Oh and the music here is exceptionally strange. It is too loud, unrelenting, and about half the time is 100% a ripoff of everything Dario Argento did for horror movies in the 70s. Like the exact same creepy synth noise tracks and weird, tonally inappropriate funky disco grooves. It is jarring and strange and I love it, but I have no idea why they went with this. They play this stuff over medieval historical recreations and PG sequences of people being peeled. I guess someone finally remembered they went to film school one day in the editing booth. It is quite artistically unique for a show like this.

(Trigger warning: this is 2 hours of people being murdered and tortured, hosted by a narrator who suspects you're kind of into it.)

“Fi, are you sure this is the way to Pumpkin Con? We’re in the middle of the woods and I don’t even see the festival grounds anymore.” said Dime.

“Uhh, yeah. There was a sign like 20 mins back that pointed at a building saying that was where Pumpkin Con was but that doesn’t make sense like what kinda Pumpkin Con takes place indoors? Plus it’s an escape room so obviously it was trying to mislead us.”

“…Fi.”

“Dime.”

“We already beat the escape room like an hour ago!”

Fi paused and was seemingly trying to hide something behind her back.

“Mmmm. I wish you told me that earlier. I sorta searched some dude’s carriage cuz I thought it’d have some clues or something on how to escape this maze. In hindsight I’m seeing that I got us lost and also this thing is way too fancy to be a prop.”

She held up a thick book made up leather that radiated a faint purple glimmer.

“Holy shit. Yeah that’s fancy alright.” Dime said.

“I opened it to see if it’d have any clues or directions to the con but none of them really make sense. Like what does mooaloomoo even mean?” Fi asked.

As she spoke the words, the aura around the book grew and briefly extended as far as they could see before returning back to its small glow.

They paused and looked at each other.

“Okay that didn’t look like directions to me.” said Fi.

“So. Shall we run?” asked Dime.

“Ya.”

The two dashed toward the direction they came from, hoping to not have forgotten any steps but it was a bit difficult to recall which way they headed in the woods.

Fi tried to check her phone but her battery was already at 1% and what if she needed it for more important things like keeping a Snapchat streak?

Dime was also the owner of a dead phone, with their only hope being able to remember the way back.

But neither of them could remember. They were beginning to lose hope and accept that they will miss that day’s Pumpkin Con. At the height of their despair, that’s when they heard a voice.

“Moo?”

It was a cow. Then another. Ten cows?

Fi and Dime were surrounded by cows and the herd seems to be attached to them. One walked up to Fi and rubbed its head on her.

Another started sniffing Dime’s hand and licking them.

“The book did this? Pretty cool but I can’t imagine what magician would need this spell.” said Dine.

“Okay but like.. I love this and I might do this too all the time.” Fi replied.

“That’s true it is kind of lovely. Be better if we weren’t lost though.”

The cows seemed to look at the two of them with concern. They understood the sentiments of the two!

“Hey Dime, you know what Pumpkin Con has a lot of? Cows of course! Maybe these guys can lead us back there! And also maybe love us enough to hide the fact that I stole this book from someone!”

Three months of streaming

Normally not a fan of big text posts like this, but I’ve been streaming for a little while now and I wanted to write a bit about it. Even though I’m still really small, I’m proud of what I’ve been able to do over the past few months. I’ve had to learn to manage a stream, alongside making all of my own art assets. Still, I wouldn’t have gotten very far without people on here. Everyone who reblogged my stream schedules, tuned in through the embed links or followed my channel, thank you so much! I especially want to thank @virtualherovranger​, @pabs-art​ and ponky over on twitter for continuously sharing stream announcements and schedules.

Some update stuff below

I also want to give a few updates on the channel. I recently changed my name on twitch to AndalaVT and redid my about section. You can check it out here. Mostly because I’ve kinda wanted Ann to be her own character, with a backstory + lore, for a while now. Streams are gonna stay the same for the most part, I’m not gonna suddenly change my personality or anything, but I do want to do some higher effort streams that go into her backstory.

I’ve been working on rigging my new model a bunch recently, and while I don’t have much that I can show right now, I do want to give some update videos on that in the next few weeks. Other than my new model, I do have some other art assets that I’ve been working on.

Its still a WIP, but I started to work on an end screen. Its been on the back burner for awhile now, so I’m not sure when I can get it done.

That’s all I got for now, thank you all again for all the support you’ve given me!!!

“On the plus side, this means we might get official streaming episodes!” This is actually wrong. Turns out the one who striked the episodes was someone named A-PAB, not nintendo themselves. Yes, this does mean it’s most likely a false claim.

Hm, I’ll have to look into this. There are other companies responsible for the broadcast rights after all. (I’ve received strikes from Chubu-Nippon for example)

But the official streaming possibility comes from HAL from one of their recent meetings. It would match up with how they started taking down Planet Robobot music before selling official tracks.

Anyway since you made the horrible decision to tell me you don't mind I will continue on my predictions!

So let's talk about the clip from the stream because I mentioned it and I'm not sure if you're actually going to watch it so eh. Anyway Moloch the dice person might be related to Pluto because he basically called him by brother and this is not the first time that family has been used in confronting Pluto specifically in ep 6 in the after credits scene Gatsby said "it's great to have you back PAB, but it's time for a family reunions starlight!" So this might mean that those three are all related to each other in some sort of way. I doubt all the prophet are related to each other but it's a possibility also if not I feel like there's at least one more that might be related to PAB. This is just a thought I thought of, but maybe Red Pen and that could be a reason that he wants to find her so bad because they're family.

Here's an unrelated prediction on eliminations. I have a strong feeling that Faberge Egg is going to get out next, and it's definitely going to be some sort of confronting from Magni in maybe a tiebreaker. Because when Andy was doing a ask thing on Twitter they were asked their favorite elimination to write and they said 5 and 8. So that means 8 is at least on par or maybe above or a little below episode's 5 elimination so getting rid of that conflict that started in episode 6 might be a good conclusion. If it's not Faberge Egg my predictions would have been Telephone or Megaphone, but I feel like they still have more like an offer for the show so it's most likely going to be Faberge Egg. Tho Telephone and Megaphone might be the reason of their own demise eventually.

I feel like people are just going to be done with Telephone's shit then cut him off, and I definitely have a feeling that Pillar would be somewhat involved with that. Also since they said Telephone was going to show a more twisted side which I feel like it's not going to be evil it just going to be him being more of a jerk and maybe a little bit mischievous which is always fun. especially if they merge the teams because if he has no team the only reason he was probably holding back is because he was the only sensible one, and actually doing stuff for the team. not saying the others aren't, but you know one isn't the brightest naturally, and one chooses not to be. So he'll definitely show more of a true colors besides Megaphone as well and maybe Faberge Egg as well.

Megaphone I feel like it's going to go down into a depressing spiral which is going to lead to his downfall of being eliminated where he once again learns the consequences of his actions, and is forced to think about them for whatever universe he is stuck in. Because he doesn't have a team so his only chance of emotional support is out the window, and since he sees everyone as an enemy that he cannot trust at all. he's just going to be hateful to everyone thinking that they everyone is the enemy and probably screw over people that care about him like Nova Wand. I feel like Nova Wand will try to reach out to him, but he's probably not going to listen which caused him to be eliminated later on. Also in the Megaphone takeover also on Andy's Twitter Megaphone mention briefly about yelling at their friends even though they were just trying to help him so if this goes the way I'm predicting this could get some insight about why that is the case and his mental state overall especially about his trust issues.

I'm going to give one more little mini protection because I could go on but I probably shouldn't because I bet you're regretting saying it's no hassle /hj but I feel like the episode is going to be more evenly split between the characters for the most part if it's the merge but the main people this episode is going to focus on is probably Faberge Egg, Magnifying Glass, and Pillar. I feel like Pillar is trying to get some Intel from Faberge Egg for Magnifying Glass to confirm his suspicions about her rigging the votes. Which only time will tell if he does. I also feel like there will be a bit of Telephone as well as maybe some others, but the main focus is those three and maybe PAB. Because In that clip in the stream the dice person send them through a portal to meet someone called Wrecker I think it was hard to tell. Which I'm assuming is another prophet so I feel like it will go back and forth from the plot, and the challenge so the whole thing isn't just watching them play snakes and ladders. Also Wrecker is probably going to be the person next to Aries in the poster.

BALBALAN, Kalinga, March 18 (PIA) - - A New People’s Army (NPA) couple  were found dead  in an encounter with the military on March 15 at Sitio Babacong, Gawaan this municipality.   Authorities identified the NPA cadres as Rudy Daguitan alyas “Pinpin” who died on the encounter site and his party wife, Nora Miguel alyas “Gemay”,   whose body was seen in an abandoned hut at Sitio Fukong, Brgy. Gawa-an.

Daguitan  was  the Political Officer/Political Instructor of Komiteng Larangan Baggas of Ilocos Cordillera Regional Committee (KLG-ICRC)  and  had  P2.3 million   bounty for his capture while  Ka “Gemay”  was  the Medical Officer  of KLG Baggas. The couple had three children

Daguitan, 58,   reportedly joined the NPA movement after graduating Commerce in Bontoc, Mountain Province.  

Elements of the 50th Infantry Battalion were patrolling the mountain lair of the communist terrorist group at Sitio Babacong, barangay Gawaan when they were fired upon by about 20 NPAs headed by one alyas Mio of Platoon Guevara, KLG-ICRC, resulting to a firefight, the 5th Infantry Division reported.   When the firefight subsided, the military entered the NPA camp and found the body of a rebel identified as Ka Pinpin who was abandoned   by his companions.  A long firearm was also recovered at the abandoned camp.   

In the subsequent  clearing  operations, the soldiers found  Ka Gemay’s  body    in an abandoned  hut   at Sitio Fukong, also in Brgy Gawa-an. With the help of some civilians, 50th IB troopers brought down the body of Alyas Gemay.

The remains of the couple were later brought to the house of one of Rudy’s relatives in Bulanao, Tabuk City for their wake and burial.  

  503rd IB Commnader,   Col. Santiago Enginco lauded his troops for the successful mission. “Malaking kawalan sa KLG Baggas ang pagkamatay ni alyas Pinpin. Mapipilay ang pag-iindoktrina at pagtuturo ng ideolohiyang komunismo sa kanilang mga kasapi at sa mga sumusuportang masa,” he said.   On the other hand, MGen. Laurence Mina. Commander of the 5 ID,   said what happened to Ka Pinpin should serve as a lesson to the remnants of the CPP-NPA.

 “Magsilbi sanang aral ang sinapit ni Rudy Daguitan alyas Pinpin sa mga nalalabi pang kasapi ng teroristang CPP-NPA. Ito ay isa na namang patunay na hindi pinapahalagahan ang mga miyenbro ng rebeldeng grupo,” he said.   Mina called on the remaining NPA rebels to surrender and join the main stream society before it’s too late.
