It took me forever, but here it is!! I had never drawn a paella, but I needed it for this moment hahaha, I love this series, its characters are wonderful.

Hey hot take but TSwift does NOT make good music. I listened to 1989 all the way through and every song was soooooo mid, or even in cringe territory.

I wanna be clear that this is NOT heterophobia; I found her writing about (straight female) attraction to (white cis) men to be some of the most compelling on the album!! It transported me to another point of view!

Of the singles, "Blank Space" was genuinely enjoyable (though the production suffered in the context of all the other music on the album, bc I could really see the patterns she gets stuck in musically — it *only* really works as a single), and "Shake It Off" was maybe 10% worse than I remembered (which was already bad).

But yeah, we GET it, you wear red lipstick and like to repeat lyrics while going "hey! hey!" at exactly the same pitch in like EVERY song. There's a difference between having motifs and trying to milk a whole album out of MAYBE three songs of material.

Also! This is not misogyny or a hatred of pop! Carly Rae Jepsen has a similar bubbliness to what it seemed like Swift was going for on 1989, and E•MO•TION is one of the best white-girl-pop albums of all time! Olivia Rodrigo idolizes Swift and reuses phrases all the time, but GUTS managed to have both variety AND cohesion while delivering a bevy of messy-bitch bangers! Why search for lesbian chthonotext when Chappell Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is right there, two generations down in the Taylorverse?!

Anyway I'm interested in people's thoughts on this, incl. TSwift apologia, but only if you read this far before posting (include a paella emoji 🥘 if yr not just Swiftiebrigading)

Hey Captain! I know the Tulpar doesn’t have a lot of good food so here are some sweets for Daisuke, some junkfood for Anya because I know she likes them when studying, some Paella and coffee for Swansea because I know he makes good paella and also a chocolate bar just in case everyone stresses him out too much and he needs a treat, and I know you don’t like sweets Captain but that you do work out a lot so some chicken, some eggs, and some peanut butter for a good source of protein💪🏻

Myr, the fertile heel of Essos, reminds me a lot of Spain and the Iberian Peninsula in general. A port city with a warm climate good for growing. This means lots of staples like rice and other grains, and plentiful olives/olive oil as well. Seafood is a huge part of the diet too. This leads to large fried grain dishes topped with mollusks or fish or shrimp (like Paella), and versatile seafood soups and stews with plenty of spices being quite popular in Myr.

Volantis’ climate reminds me of Thailand, Vietnam, and other surrounding SEA countries, so let’s say the food is similar too. Plenty of rice and noodles to pour your main dishes on top of. Multiple courses consisting of spicy stews/curries, fried meat and veggie dishes, fish platters, and gelatinous rice dishes. Cold noodles and other chilled foods are very popular too, due to the relief it provides from the sticky heat

Lys is kind of a a mishmash of the Greek islands, so let’s go with classic Mediterranean foods. The island is very fertile, so I think they like to make use of their abundance of veggies. Cold salad-like dishes are very popular, drenched in oil and spices. Cooked vegetables are usually the main course, often stuffed with rice, chicken, or other filling foods. There are also dips and sauces bc they seem like dips and sauces ppl.

I know Braavos is supposed to be like Venice but it’s also cold and wet there so…✨Polish and general North Eastern European food✨ but it works hear me out. Multicultural blends of vegetable and fish stews that have changed over time to become uniquely Braavoisi. Veggies/fish/meet/fruit/literally anything wrapped in dough bc things wrapped in dough surpass borders. Overall just a mash of differing cultures the city was founded on plus the environment in which they live. (Shoutout @ludcake for the help 🫶)

Croatian food is notably heterogeneous so that’s why I think it’s perfect for Pentos. There’s no one major inspiration for its food, being a major trade city, its people take knowledge from whichever foreigner has pulled into port and uses it for their cuisine. Flavorful and random seafood stews. Simple cold salads with vinegar and potatoes. Very daring raw octopus dishes. The list goes on

Now a palette cleanser: If MV were to do endurance racing, I would LOVE for him to partake in 24 uur van Zolder (even if it also has a bit of an Imola rep). 1: it's loosely in the region the Kumpens are from. 2: I WOULD SO GO WATCH! 3: guarantee the event will be sold out & garner traction for endurance racing! Endurance seems very diffcult especially if you do 24 hours cuz a lot can happen to a car in 24 hours of racing non-stop!

I don't know. People didn't like her from the very beginning of their relationship. And I don't think anyone ever thought she was Max's true love. Except minions. No one cared about their relationship or just made fun of them because of the situation with Kvyat. But since last year, I think the breakdown in their relationship has gotten more attention because more people have started exposing her .

And yes I would definitely like to see Max in an endurance race!! That would be great. I also realised this year that it would be great to watch him in other motorsports. Or should I say Franz Hermann?

With scampi. Super seafood-y and rich. Not really like a paella but it's really good. Enough for 2.

🍽 Roasted Meat Caneloni (€ 13.50, $19.63)

Not sure what meat it is. Beef? Very rich and meaty. An interesting dish compared to the sandwich.

🐮🥘 Callos (€ 9.50, $13.81)

Veal Tripe. Thicker, with more tripe than Can Vilaro. Can Vilaro's is more of a mix. As all callos, it's really thicc and yummy.

🍫🍰 Hazelnut Chocolate Cake (€ 6.50, $9.45)

SOO MELTYYY. Like a lava chocolate cake. Super affordable compared to SG. Would definitely recommend the desserts. Hotels that can't make a good dessert, you need to hire a better chef.

🥚🍞 Torrija (€ 6.50, $9.45)

Quite a nice piece, topped with vanilla ice cream. Not too sweet. Worth a try.

🥤 Lemon and Orange Schweeps (€ 2.10, $3.05)

Orange one sucks. Lemon version was so much better.

Really LOVE THIS PLACE. It's so good! Wished that we could've ordered EVERYTHING on the menu. We probably called at least half their menu over our two visits.
