Precursor Drone Orta

Yup, I’m serious about using my Precursor Drone concept more! I’m still trying to figure out the lore for them other than of course they were created by the Precursor’s from the Jak and Daxter series and that original pic of Kiera as one was the first discovery of this drone suit. And for this pic I went with a girl from a series that’s become my newest hyper fixation recently, Orta from SEGA’s Panzer Dragoon because if I had to pick any series to take a character from and turn into a Precursor Drone, Panzer Dragoon seems like a perfect fit as Orta here is discovering for herself after being turned into one. Which is probably ironic for her since Orta herself is already what the games own lore considers a Drone anyway so double drone I guess lol. And you know, it’s another series set in a world with technology from a long time ago that the people of that world are using now just like the Precursor’s from Jak and Daxter so this is more than fitting.

Not to mention, like with how I never wanted my R.O.B Drones to be limited to just Nintendo characters despite the fact that they are designed around a Nintendo Accessory I don’t want my Precursor Drones to be limited to just PlayStation characters despite them being based of a PlayStation franchise I grew up adoring. So, who better to make one than a character who’s not only a SEGA character but also one from the one game in the series that is exclusive to the at the time newest competitor the Xbox!?... And also still the newest game in the series if we aren’t counting the first games remake… First NiGHTS now this. What is it with genuinely great SEGA series that get there start on the Saturn and the last game we ever get for them are exclusive to one console or the other in the 2000’s? With NiGHTS it was Journy of Dreams on the Wii and now this it’s Orta on the Xbox.

Plus, it gives me a reason to talk about Panzer Dragoon! Because I I got the remake of the first game on sale a few months back on Steam and only recently tried it out and I instantly fell in love thanks to it’s gameplay and setting. And yes, I DID actually get the achievement for having 100+ hours in the game by literally just ideling on the title screen for a few days... Why am I like this? Well, I ordered a copy of Orta recently and holy shit this one might be my favourite in the series thanks to it having the best gameplay in my opinion! Granted that might be a bit premature of me since it’s the only other Panzer Dragoon game I’ve actually played so far but between the two I still really love this one. There is still Zwei for me to play which I tired playing but setting up SEGA Saturn emulation is way more difficult than I thought it’d be, Mini which isn’t a very good game anyway I’ve heard and Saga which I’m sure is good but the moment I read that it was a turn based RPG I instantly lost interest what with how hard I’ve fallen out of the genre in recent times.

I had fun making this in Panzer Dragoon remake for the #NintendoSwitch. It was the photo Mode. The game is pretty neat, once you get used to the controls and such. Panzer Dragoon Remake

Hey everyone!I've been playing Panzer Dragoon remake on the Nintendo Switch. As a big fan of the original games on Sega Saturn, I couldn't pass up this opportunity. Basically, Panzer Dragoon is a rail gun shooter where you ride a dragon while fighting against an evil Empire in a post apocaliptic world. As if that wasn't enough, in your journey through lost ruins in the sea, vast deserts and lush forests you'll encounter a variety of monster that'll put you to the test. All this alligned with an amazing soundtrack that brings even more life to this world! There's nothing quite like Panzer Dragoon's music. I love it!!Nowadays you may not think much of it but back in the day this game was the showcase for the Sega Saturn 3d graphics capability, a true killer app to that system not only for the visuals but for its innovative gameplay. While you could only shoot forward in other shooters like StarFox, Panzer Dragoon would let you shoot all around your character.The only negative about this game and like many others of this genre is that it was a short experience.Anyway, the remake is all of this that I just said above with an added paint coat, a remixed soundtrack and a new way of control that I don't like very much, thankfully MegaPixel Studio left the classic control so that's not a problem. The only issues I can see is the aiming, that for a few times won't lock onto enemies and a weird lag when rotating the camera.When all said and done, I still enjoyed my time with Panzer Dragoon remake (my kid loves it too!!AHAH!). I miss these kind of gamesand I can't wait for the remake of Panzer Dragoon II Zwei!Well, like usual I hope you like my take on this game and please stay safe during this troubling times.Until next time! Year of the Dragoon! Finally got around to getting this digitized and uploaded. It's my Panzer dragon-self shooting lasers to create fireworks over some city with a small colony of folks to celebrate the new Chinese Lunar New Year for here on Earth :P P.S: I wonder what a Panzerese calendar is like?

Hace 22 años fue lanzado Panzer Dragoon Orta. Es un juego de disparos sobre rieles para el Xbox original, publicado por SEGA y desarrollado por el estudio Smilebit de la misma. Es la 4ta entrega principal de la serie Panzer Dragoon. Muchos de los desarrolladores formaron parte del extinto estudio Team Andromeda, que fue desmantelado luego del lanzamiento de la entrega anterior, Panzer Dragoon Saga (1998), en el Sega Saturn. La historia sigue a una adolescente, Orta, quien es rescatada de prisión por un misterioso dragón, y debe defenderse de la milicia de un imperio opresor.

Panzer Dragoon Orta es un rail shooter: los jugadores controlan la posición del dragón en pantalla, y puede acelerar o desacelerar la velocidad por corto tiempo (acelerar puede usarse como una embestida), pero no se puede volar a voluntad.
