Manami was raised alone (begrudgingly) by her father Lee after her mother “ran off”. She knows he loves her; just has a hard time saying it out loud. She’s looking forward to getting a little distance between them when she starts campus life; even better? She’ll gets to stay at Ward Hall with some of her best high school friends. Her girlfriend Norma’s dorm is right across the street, so that’s a plus.

Norma Sanchez

Finance Major / Feng Recipient / Foxbury

Norma’s been an entrepreneur since she opened her first lemonade stand. She swept the cookie drive every year. Simply put, she likes money – her papi Dusk has been a construction foreman for years, and her mama Teal is a tech analyst at a call center (but that’s didn’t stop her from having her little sister Autumn and her baby brother Ed; she had them and barely missed a day at work).

Norma has always dreamed of making enough money so her parents could retire and her siblings could get into university. Now, with this Feng Scholarship, she’s well on her way. 

She’s hoping she and Manami can get a place after Uni, but will that depend on Mr. Ayres? Norma knows he’s not a fan of their relationship (shame, because her family loves Manami). Guess we’ll have to wait and see. 

Orion Michelson

Neuroscience Major / Genius Scholarship /Foxbury / Ward Hall

No surprise that the OG Orion is a bonafide genius. Now she has to decide if she wants to use her expertise for science, medicine, or both. She’s thinking both. Her passion is genetics; she is hoping to win a grant for some research she’s been working on through high school inspired by her mother, Celeste. Her mother, her father, Christopher, and her brother Atlas couldn’t be more proud.

As for her boyfriend, Nikos? They’re cool right now. Both of them are focused on their research, so they’ve agreed to just enjoy the ride until Uni is over. Then they’ll reevaluate.

Nikos Vlados

Neuroscience Major / Genius Scholarship / Foxbury / Broussard Hall

Nikos was adopted as a baby; so he wouldn’t be alone, his fathers, Sorrel & Aster adopted two more children. He hoped for brothers, but it didn’t work out that way. He’s come to love his younger sisters Posy & Dearie very much.

He fell for Orion right away; after all, he did the research and he knew he’d never find a smarter girl anywhere. He already knows he wants to live in the lab – now he’s waiting to see what field his sweetheart will choose. He hasn’t mentioned it much to her, but when the time comes, he can’t wait for them to get married; the odds of genius kids are favorable.

THE 24 HOUR PLAYS Make Their New Jersey Premiere At Mile Square Theatre In April

On April 7th, The 24 Hour Plays make their New Jersey debut at Hoboken's Mile Square Theatre. Established in 1995, The 24 Hour Plays are a non-profit theater company that bring creative communities together to write, rehearse and perform new plays and musicals in twenty-four hours.

“Mile Square Theatre and The 24 Hour Plays honor an abiding belief in the power of creative collaboration to develop transformative multicultural voices for the theater,” said Kevin R. Free, Artistic Director of Mile Square Theatre. “We're thrilled to be a partner to The 24 Hour Plays for its New Jersey premiere and host to a delightful mix of talents from New Jersey and New York City to make the program really sing.” 

“The relationships artists build during formative theatre experiences like The 24 Hour Plays last their entire careers,” said producer Leo Layla Diaz. “We seek the very best cross-section of multi-generational and multi-cultural theater artists – and we arm them with what they need to hone their voices for this unique event."

Actors slated to participate include Gabriel Hernandez (Quarter Rican), Nirvaan Pal (School of Rock), Matt Lawler (“Station 11”, “Billions”), Kennedy Kanagawa (Into the Woods), Stephanie Kurtzuba (“The Irishman;” Wolf of Wall Street;” “Annie”), Joy Katharine Donze (Funny, Like an Abortion), DeAnna Supplee (B.R.O.K.E.N. code B.I.R.D switch.), Jason Yanto, Joelle Zazz, Maya Jeyam, Julia Way, Rich Frohman, David F. Gow (“The Girls on the Bus”), Jordan Ho, Grant Madison Stanton, Ross Cowan, Keivana Wallace (The Christmas Tree Farm) and Ian Lloyd Sanchez.

Writers include Susie Felber (Host/Producer "The Hawk"), DW Gregory (The Yellow Stocking Play, Radium Girls), Iraisa Ann Reilly (The Jersey Devil is a Papi Chulo), Pia Wilson (Black Bee), Marcus Scott (Sibling Rivalries), and Raakhee Mirchandani (JOURNEY TO THE STARS: KALPANA CHAWLA, ASTRONAUT). Directors include Julie Tucker, Rachel Dart (The Christmas Tree Farm) and Goldie Patrick (Paradise Blue). Musical Guests include Faye Chiao and Tasha Gordon-Solmon (Fountain of You). Additional artists to be announced.

Participating actors, writers, directors and production staff gather for the first time on the evening of Saturday, April 6th to introduce themselves and share prop and costume items they've been asked to bring. The writers will take inspiration from this meet and greet to write new plays overnight. In the morning, the actors and directors will receive the six new plays and team up with production staff to begin their rehearsal and tech process, with curtain at 7pm that night.

The 24 Hour Plays: Hoboken are produced by Leo Layla Diaz and Mark Armstrong in conjunction with Mile Square Theatre's Artistic Director Kevin R. Free.  The event will honor the long-standing contributions of the Rostan Family to Mile Square Theatre with the dedication of the naming of the gallery space. Proceeds from The 24 Hour Plays: Hoboken will benefit Mile Square Theatre's non-profit theatre making and educational programming.

You're right. I mean, I see Beebs more as the guy who is more affectionate or even cheesy when it comes to being in a relationship. As for Shrike, I see him more as the reserved guy who has a hard time showing his emotions. Even so, when he wants some affection he just approaches Beebs and snuggles shyly on his shoulder and that makes Beebs understand that Shrike wants a hug.

Here are a few of my recent. favorite picture book finds: 

For Beautiful Black Boys Who Believe in a Better World by Michael W. Walters (Author) & Keisha Morris (Illustrator): Having conversations with children about violence and helping them make sense of all the negative media these days is difficult. This gorgeous book will help children think about the world they live in as they follow the main character as he tries to understand the world as it affects him. 

Evelyn Del Rey is Moving Away by Meg Medina (Author) & Sonia Sanchez (Illustrator): Do you ever have difficulty talking to children about people leaving or moving away? This is going to be the perfect book to read with your little one to help them know it’s ok to have people that just get you and it’s ok that they sometimes leave. They’ll leave a hole, but will also have given you so much. <3 

Bunheads by Misty Copeland (Author) & Setor Fiadzigbey (Illustrator): Misty Copeland has several books out, but this is her newest picture book. This is about Misty as a young girl as she works hard for one of the lead roles in a ballet, alongside her is a fellow ballerina seeking the same. It shows that friendly competition can be a supportive and beautiful thing if you work hard and push others too as well. 

My Papi Has a Motorcycle by Isabel Quintero (Author) & Zeke Peña (Illustrator): This heartwarming book is all about Daisy Ramona as she rides around the town on a motorcycle with her papi after he gets home from work. It’s full of love, spirit, and color - definitely a book to instill fond memories with your children.

Desperate for the night

Hailee Steinfeld x Male Reader

Request - Could you do Hailee Steinfeld x male!reader where y/n is an actor/singer. The story starts where y/n wants to talk to Hailee about wanting explore more about calling him just baby. They talk and y/n wants her to calls him "daddy." She giggled and tells her that's weird and his not her dad. Y/n is showing a cheeky grin, he tells to to say it more to get used to it. She said if she's says it there no kisses, no sexy time since she's trying to get use to it. She said it again and again and the next time she said it she did it in a secductive tone. One time she called for her dad she said daddy and then y/n and her dad said yes at the same time and both y/n and Hailee turn red hot as they are embarrassed as her dad is in the room.

Hailee and Y/n are filming a music video for their new song together. They are at the beach and they are on break, Hailee took a picture with Y/n and she posted it on her Instagram account. Everyone knows they are dating, they would post pictures of each other on Instagram. Also, they would go to events together and sometimes work together.

“Hailee, we need to talk,” Y/n said.

“Are you breaking up with me?” Hailee asked.

“No! Why you would ask that?” Y/n asked.

“Because you said we need to talk,” Hailee said.

“No, I don't want to break up with you. I wanted to talk about something else” Y/n said.

“Okay, you scared me for a moment. What do you want to talk about” Hailee said.

“Well... I thought besides calling me ‘babe’ maybe call me ‘daddy’” Y/n said.

“Are you serious? You want me to call you ‘daddy’?” Hailee said.

Y/n nods “Yeah, I'm serious. Maybe give it a try”

Hailee starts to laugh but Y/n isn't laughing.

“Oh, you are serious. You are not my dad and it's strange calling you daddy” Hailee said.

“Maybe give it a try and call me daddy. Can you least try?” Y/n said.

She rolled her eyes at him.

“Okay, I will try. But! We won't kiss or have sex after I say it” Hailee said.

“Okay, that's understandable,” Y/n said.

He kissed Hailee on the lips and smiled but she rolled her eyes at him again. They continue to work on the music video all day.

Hailee went to the movie premiere of The Gray Man. Y/n was in the movie and played a bad guy. When Y/n first got the role, Hailee was happy for her boyfriend. He asked Hailee to be his date and she said yes. Hailee to pick out the outfits for them to wear.

At the after-party, Y/n introduced Hailee to the cast. Ana was happy to see Y/n, they became close friends. He learned Spanish on set by listening to Ana talk.

“Wow, since when you can speak Spanish?” Hailee asked.

“Oh, Ana taught me some Spanish. We had to do interviews in Spanish in Miami” Y/n said.

“Did you tell her to call you daddy?” Hailee joked.

“Oh, it would sound hot if she said it in Spanish. I'm going to ask, I will be right back” Y/n smiled.

Hailee smacked his chest and he starts to laugh.

“I was joking. No, I never told her to call me ‘Papi’. And it means ‘daddy’ in Spanish” Y/n said.

“Whatever, Y/n,” Hailee said.

Y/n smiled again and he wrapped his arms around her.

“I only want you to call me ‘daddy’” Y/n smiled.

She rolled her eyes. Later, they went to get something to drink and danced for a little while. Ana did spend time with Y/n and she got to know Hailee, they are getting along. Hailee noticed they have a lot of inside jokes.

Y/n and Hailee are making an ep album. They are covering love songs and the fans are liking the first song they sang Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez. Today, they are shooting a video for it. Y/n is on his phone and she whispered in his ear...

“Hey daddy” Hailee whispered seductively.

“Hey, babe” Y/n smiled.

“I’m guessing you liked it, because of how I said it,” Hailee said.

“Yeah, I liked how you said it,” Y/n said.

She kissed him on the lips.

“You are taking me out for dinner, daddy,” Hailee said.

Y/n starts to nod.

“Yeah, I can do that” Y/n smiled.

Throughout the day, Hailee has kept calling Y/n ‘daddy’. She is trying to get used to it, but it still feels strange for her to say to her boyfriend. Y/n doesn't pressure her to say it but he does think it's hot how she says it.

Hailee took Y/n to her family’s house and have a cookout in the backyard. Y/n has met the family before, they are okay with Y/n dating Hailee.

Now, Hailee and Y/n are in the kitchen alone. She decided to call her boyfriend ‘daddy’

“Daddy,” Hailee said.

“Yes,” Y/n and her father said at the same time.

Hailee’s face turns extremely red. She didn't know that her father was heading to the kitchen. Y/n froze and he feels embarrassed he didn't turn around to look at her dad.

“Did you just yes?” He asked Y/n.

“W-what? No, no, no, no... I said I want grapes” Y/n nervously said.

He glared at Y/n and Hailee is freaking out on the inside.

“I think it's time for you to go, Y/n,” He said.

“I forgot to pick up my friend at the airport. Um, Hailee, I will text you later” Y/n said.

He rushed out of the kitchen and left the house. Hailee goes to the backyard and gets in the pool. An hour later Hailee texted Y/n.

Hailee - I'm not calling you daddy anymore, after what happened.

Y/n- I think he wanted to kill me.

Hailee - he still wants to kill you.

Y/n - I think I won't go to your family’s house for a while.

Hailee - Good idea
