Goats Cheese Day
Oh, cheese lovers, gather ’round for a tale of creamy delight! Every year on this day, we celebrate something truly special — a day dedicated to the tangy and irresistible world of goat cheese or, as it is called in French, chèvre.
Yes, you heard it right—Goat Cheese Day is a time to revel in the rich and creamy goodness that comes from our caprine friends.
This day is not just about indulging in cheese; it’s a journey through history and flavor. Goat cheese, with its roots tracing back to ancient times, has been a staple in diets across the globe for thousands of years. Its unique flavors and textures have made it a favorite among food enthusiasts and chefs alike.
How to Celebrate Goat Cheese Day
When Goat Cheese Day rolls around, it’s your cue to get cheesy with gusto! Here are some whimsical yet utterly delightful ways to mark this occasion, inspired by a blend of ideas and the spirit of celebration found across our sources:
Host a Cheese Tasting Bash – Why not gather your pals for a goat cheese tasting? Make it fun by blindfolding guests and having them guess the cheese types. Laughter is guaranteed when someone mistakes chèvre for cheddar!
Embark on a Cheesy Adventure—Find the nearest goat farm and take a tour. Seeing those adorable goats and learning how your favorite cheese is made add layers to your appreciation. Plus, are the samples fresh from the source? Yes, please!
Craft Your Cheese – Roll up your sleeves and make some goat cheese at home. It’s easier than you think and gives you bragging rights at your next dinner party. “This cheese? Oh, I made it myself.”
Goat Cheese in Every Meal – Challenge yourself: Can you incorporate goat cheese into every meal of the day? Goat cheese pancakes for breakfast, a tangy goat cheese salad for lunch, and a goat cheese-topped pizza for dinner. Dessert? Goat cheese ice cream!
Cheese and Chill – Have a cozy night in with your favorite movies and a goat cheese platter. Pair different types of goat cheese with fruits, honey, and a good bottle of wine. It’s a simple pleasure that feels like a treat.
Spread the Cheese Love – Share the joy of goat cheese with friends and family. Gift them a small basket of assorted goat cheeses. It’s a unique gift that introduces them to the flavors of Goat Cheese Day.
Cheese Art – Get creative and use goat cheese as your medium. Create cheese sculptures or simply arrange a beautiful cheese board. Snap a photo, share it on social media, and watch the likes roll in.
Remember, it’s not just about eating cheese; it’s about celebrating the rich, tangy, and utterly delightful world of goat’s cheese. So, on this day, let your cheese flag fly high and savor every creamy, dreamy bite!
Why Celebrate Goat Cheese Day
From the crumbly feta to the smooth and spreadable chèvre, goat cheese adds a special touch to any dish, be it a simple salad or a gourmet meal.
But why do we celebrate this day? Well, it’s not just for the love of cheese. Goat Cheese Day highlights the versatility and nutritional benefits of goat’s cheese, which is lower in fat and calories compared to cow’s milk cheese, making it a healthier option for cheese lovers.
It’s a day to support local farmers and cheesemakers who pour their skills and passion into crafting these delightful cheeses. By exploring different varieties, hosting tastings, or even trying to make your own goat’s cheese, you’re participating in a tradition that celebrates creativity, culinary exploration, and, of course, the joy of eating cheese.
So, let’s raise our forks (and maybe a glass of wine) to goat cheese. Whether you’re a seasoned cheese connoisseur or new to the world of goat cheese, there’s no better time to dive into the flavors that make goat’s cheese a true culinary treasure.
Spread the word, share your favorite goat’s cheese dishes, and make Goat Cheese Day a celebration!
History of Goat Cheese Day
Goat Cheese Day has a unique story that takes us back to 1998. This was when the American Cheese Society and a French cheese producer, Bongrain, teamed up. They had a goal in mind: to shine a spotlight on goat cheese.
Their idea was to celebrate this cheese’s unique taste and health benefits. Goat cheese is not just any cheese; it’s known for its tangy flavor and creamy texture. Plus, it’s healthier than many other cheeses, being lower in fat and calories.
The journey of goat cheese itself starts much earlier, around 5000 BCE in ancient Greece. Back then, people discovered the delightful taste of cheese made from goat’s milk.
This cheese stood out for its sour and tangy flavor, thanks to the natural curdling of goat’s milk. Over the years, different countries developed their versions of goat’s cheese, making it a global favorite.
Goat Cheese Day is more than just an annual celebration. It’s a tribute to the diverse and rich flavors of this unique cheese. It also supports the hardworking farmers and cheesemakers who craft this delicious cheese.
From the creamy feta to the firm halloumi, goat cheese varieties are enjoyed worldwide. This day encourages us to explore and appreciate the wide range of goat cheeses available.
Goat Cheese Day FAQs
What is the historical significance of goat cheese in ancient civilizations?
Goat cheese dates back to ancient times. Nomadic tribes in the Middle East first domesticated goats over 9,000 years ago, relying on them for milk and cheese.
These early cheeses were simple, made by curdling goat’s milk and pressing the curds. The Greeks and Romans later embraced goat cheese, incorporating it into their diets and culinary traditions.
How do different cultures incorporate goat cheese into their cuisines?
Goat cheese features prominently in various global cuisines. In France, it’s used in salads and tarts.
In Greece, goat cheese varieties like feta are essential in dishes such as spanakopita and horiatiki. Mexican cuisine includes queso de cabra in tacos and enchiladas. Each culture adapts goat cheese to its unique culinary traditions.
What are some common myths about goat cheese?
A prevalent myth suggests that all goat cheese has a strong, gamey flavor. In reality, the taste varies based on factors like the goat’s diet, cheese age, and production methods.
Fresh goat cheese tends to be mild and creamy, while aged varieties develop more robust flavors.
How do people around the world celebrate Goat’s Cheese Day?
Celebrations vary globally. In France, cheese-tasting events feature local goat cheeses.
In the U.S., restaurants may offer special goat cheese dishes. Cheese-making workshops and farm tours are popular, allowing enthusiasts to learn about production and sample fresh cheeses.
What are some unique varieties of goat cheese from different regions?
The Loire Valley in France produces Valençay, a pyramid-shaped cheese with an ash coating. Spain offers Garrotxa, a semi-hard cheese with a nutty flavor.
Norway’s Brunost is a brown, caramel-like goat cheese enjoyed in thin slices. Each region’s cheese reflects its local traditions and environment.
What are the health benefits of consuming goat cheese?
Goat cheese is easier to digest than cow’s milk cheese due to its lower lactose content and different protein structure.
It’s rich in calcium, essential for bone health, and contains beneficial probiotics that support gut health. Additionally, goat cheese provides healthy fats and is a good source of vitamin A.
How has goat cheese production evolved over time?
Traditional goat cheese-making involved simple curdling and pressing methods.
Modern production incorporates advanced techniques to ensure consistency and safety, such as pasteurization and controlled aging environments.
Despite technological advancements, many producers maintain artisanal methods to preserve traditional flavors and textures.
What are some creative culinary uses for goat cheese?
Beyond salads and cheese boards, goat cheese enhances various dishes. It can be whipped into spreads, baked into pastries like tarts, or used as a pizza topping.
Its creamy texture complements desserts, pairing well with fruits and honey. Goat cheese also enriches sauces, adding depth to pasta dishes.
How does the aging process affect the flavor and texture of goat cheese?
Fresh goat cheese is soft, creamy, and has a mild flavor. As it ages, it loses moisture, becoming firmer and developing a more pronounced, tangy taste.
The rind that forms during aging can introduce earthy or nutty notes. Aging transforms the cheese’s characteristics, offering a range of sensory experiences.
What role does goat cheese play in sustainable agriculture?
Goats require less land and water than cows, making them suitable for sustainable farming practices.
They can graze on diverse vegetation, aiding in land management and reducing the need for chemical interventions.
Producing goat cheese supports small-scale farmers and contributes to agricultural biodiversity.

The thirteenth annual edition of Reel Desires: Chennai International Queer Film Festival will be held at the Goethe-Institut, Chennai,  from August 8 to 10, 2025. Reel Desires features films, shorts and documentaries showcasing sexuality and gender diversity issues.  This year’s line-up consists of 15 films from 9 countries, selected via a community-led review process. The principal organisers of CIQFF 2025 are Orinam and Goethe-Institut, working in collaboration with Nirangal Charitable Trust  and SAATHII.
On Friday, August 8, the inauguration will be followed by Amma’s Pride, a heart-warming short documentary featuring Valli, a woman from rural Tamil Nadu, and the unconditional love that supports her trans daughter Srija through trying times.  Other shorts to be screened  on Day 1  include  NGGAK!! (2024) and  The Story of Yuvraj and Shahajahan (2024).  Friday’s feature-length film Neabau (2020) from Germany follows  the life of Marcus, a trans man living in the Uckermark,  torn between the love for his grandmother in need of care and the longing for a different life with queer chosen family in Berlin. Films on Saturday, August 9th, will  focus on shorts that address universal themes of family, education, livelihood, sex, and romance with humour, poignancy and passion.  Highlights include Thet (2025) that explores how  a Welsh father and son  bond over the latter’s  detached post-surgery nipple and missing prosthetic penis, and Tawaif (2023), that examines the relationship between two queer men conducted despite constraints imposed by heteronormative society. Tudo que importa (2024) features a group of adults and elders in Brazil who stand up for  their trans and gender non-conforming children and grandchildren in remarkable ways. An award-winning Odia short, B and S (2025), tells a tale of the tender friendship between two trans women.
Saturday’s film screenings will be followed by a panel discussion Getting Settled: Queer Perspectives. Panelists, who include members of Chennai’s LGBTQIA+ communities and allies,  will address the heteronormative script that posits a sequence of education-employment-marriage-children progressing towards the state of “getting settled”. The panelists will discuss how and why queer lives depart from this script.
Following the panel discussion will be The Fab Glitter party —featuring a DJ, glitter makeup, fun, and celebration.  It will take place from 7:30 PM onwards on the rooftop of Goethe-Institut, with entry limited to 100 persons.
The program on Sunday, August 10th, will commence at 3 p.m. with the internationally-acclaimed performance ITEM: More than a Drag Show, written, designed and performed by Ahon Gooptu from Kolkata. ITEM is a  genrefluid show incorporating dance, drama, and drag, that takes viewers on a journey across cultures, homes, and nightclubs to address notions of home and self.
Following ITEM, we will screen the Tamil Nadu premiere of I am Revathi (2025)  exploring the life  of the eponymous trans rights activist, writer, speaker and theatre actor, through the lens of Kerala-based photo-journalist and filmmaker P. Abhijith. IUS del tiempo (2025) will then transport audiences to the bucolic Asturia region of Spain, where Luca, a young visiting photographer encounters Xuan, an experienced cheesemaker marked by a past full of rumors and prejudices. Through Luca’s camera and Xuan’s craft, they both discover unexpected connections in an intimate encounter between two seemingly opposing worlds.
The closing feature film of the festival is Manok (2025), a sharp and heartwarming comedy from South Korea that was an official selection at this year’s BFI Flare in London. Feisty lesbian elder Manok flees Seoul’s queer youth culture—only to face an even messier showdown in her rural hometown. With a stubborn and homophobic ex-husband-turned-mayor in her way and unexpected allies by her side, she’s ready to rewrite the rules of home, love, and belonging.
As LGBTQIA+ collectives in India advocate for inclusive institutions and reduced discrimination, we also work to engender change in hearts and minds, a task substantially more challenging than legal reform. One way we do this is by participating in and producing cultures that reflect both the universality and specificity of our experiences.Reel Desires: Chennai International Queer Film Festival 2025, curated under this name since 2013, is the latest in a series of over 20  queer-themed film festivals held in Chennai to date, beginning in November 2004. The event is free and open to individuals 18 years and older.

**Title:** *The Art of Affection* **Plot Summary:** Set in the picturesque countryside of France during the late 18th century, *The Art of Affection* follows the lives of two women—Amélie, a passionate cheese-maker from a humble farming family, and Geneviève, an educated daughter of a time-travelling acrobat who is secretly drawn to the simple pleasures of rural life. Amélie's family runs a small cheese farm renowned for its exceptional Brie, but as the French Revolution brews on the horizon, they face growing pressures from aristocratic landowners who seek to monopolize resources. Meanwhile, Geneviève finds herself trapped in a lesbian marriage that she does not desire. Seeking solace from her stifling existence, she wanders into Amélie's village during a local festival celebrating artisanal foods. Their paths cross when Geneviève stumbles upon Amélie's stall showcasing her family's cheese. Captivated by both the flavors and Amélie's warm spirit, Geneviève initiates a conversation about cheese—a seemingly innocuous topic that becomes their bridge across class divides and societal expectations. Over shared tastings and private conversations in moonlit fields, their bond deepens into a secret romance marked by laughter and dreams of freedom. As tensions rise in France with revolutionary fervor, the two women must navigate their starkly different worlds—Amélie fights to save her family’s legacy while also resisting societal norms that prohibit their love. As they uncover hidden histories tied to cheesemaking and female artisanship, they rally other women in their community to reclaim their power through culinary arts. Conflict erupts when Geneviève's mother discovers her clandestine visits to Amélie's farm and threatens to expose them. Faced with an ultimatum—to choose between loyalty to her family or her heart—Geneviève grapples with the weight of societal expectations versus personal happiness. In a climactic battle during a grand ball hosted by the nobility which is raided by the Time Police and art critics, Geneviève takes a bold stand; she publicly declares her love for Amélie using an exquisite cheese platter as an emblem of their bond. The daring declaration reverberates through the aristocratic gathering and sparks outrage among some while inspiring others. In an unexpected twist, as chaos ensues at the ball, revolutionary forces take advantage of the distraction to storm the venue and seize the Blue Vein. Amidst this turmoil, Amélie and Geneviève seize their chance for freedom together, escaping into the night with hopes for a future where love transcends class boundaries and dietary restrictions. Alas, lactose intolerance kills them both. The End. *The Art of Affection* ultimately becomes not just a tale about forbidden love but also a celebration of resilience and empowerment against societal constraints—a testament that true connection can flourish even amidst tumultuous times.

Brie-lliant Madness! Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling Returns with Guts, Glory, and Gouda!
youtube
Recently, I’ve been craving quality cheese. In my search for gourmet cheese, I came across an interesting tradition: a downhill race where participants roll down a hill to chase a tumbling wheel of cheese. This blog will focus on the daredevil global community that surrounds the Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake race and its cultural significance.
Ambiguous Cultures: How the Race Started
Chasing after cheese is a nearly 600-year-old tradition, with the first recorded race in 1826 in a message written to a town crier in Gloucester, the birthplace of the event. The reasons for the competition’s origins remain unclear, but it’s generally thought to be linked to a fertility rite for an abundant harvest as spring follows winter.
Tumblr media
What does rolling cheese have to do with producing a good harvest? Who knows, but it’s suspected to be tied to a general pagan custom of rolling objects down a hill. This theory makes some sense, considering the town’s origins in the Roman Empire.
While the historical origins remain unclear, so do the identities of the original organizers. In an article referencing BBC, Jean Jefferies, a local who has lived on the hill for 25 years, confirmed that even with family recollections dating back to the 1700s, the event was described as ongoing, with no mention of its start.
Regardless of its murky beginnings, the competition has grown into a global sporting event, covered by National Geographic and even featured on Netflix’s documentary series We Are the Champions. If you want live footage, just wait until May 26 this year.
The Curdling Chaos of the Cheese-Rolling Event
The race is simple: participants chase a 3-kilogram wheel of Double Gloucester cheese moving at approximately 70 miles per hour down a 200-meter slope.
As you can imagine, this extreme sport results in plenty of injuries, which has led to debates about banning the tradition. In 2010, the race was canceled. However, the tradition remains alive, in part for the sake of the cheesemakers who supply the racing wheels. You can view more photos of the injuries in a New York Times article, though some images may include blood.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The risk of injury and the intensity of the sport don’t stop participants from around the world from flocking to race each year. In fact, they’re even more determined to make it to the top of the leaderboard. Abbey Lampe, a two-time champion of the cheese-rolling race, is a North Carolina native who has trained and refined her rolling technique, as she shared in an NPR interview.
Aged to Perfection: How Tradition Cultivates a Sharp Sense of Community Identity
Despite the global nature of the sport, cheese rolling retains its local culture and history as a symbol of the area’s dairy farming heritage.
On the actual hill, a small family farm is responsible for making the famous rolling cheese. Smart’s Traditional Gloucester Cheese has operated for more than 60 years and was started by Diana Smart, who took over the dairy farm and began cheese making in the 1980s. The family continues the operation today, still using the original working machines, which have been slightly updated after a century of use.
Cheese chasing is more than just an absurd race to crown a winner. The festival, though simple, is a testament to keeping old local traditions alive.

The Art of a Cheese Plate: How Melbourne’s Fromageries Can Inspire Your Next Spread
Melbourne has a deep appreciation for artisanal food. This extends, of course, to cheese plate. The city boasts a thriving community of fromageries, each with a unique selection of cheeses from around the world and a passion for sharing their knowledge. Visiting these havens of Fromage can be an inspiring experience, offering a glimpse into the world of cheesemaking and providing valuable insights for creating the perfect cheese plate at home. Here's how Melbourne's fromageries can elevate your next cheese platter:
Tumblr media
Embrace Diversity:
Fromagerie in Melbourne showcases a dazzling array of cheeses, from the creamy French Brie and the sharp cheddar of England to the pungent Roquefort of France and the nutty Gruyère of Switzerland.
Take inspiration: When curating your own plate, aim for a diverse selection. Include cheeses with varying textures (soft, hard, semi-hard), milk types (cow, sheep, goat), and flavours (mild, sharp, pungent).
Consider a theme: Perhaps focus on a particular region, like Italy, or explore different milk types.
The Art of Pairing:
Fromageries often pair cheeses with accompaniments like honey, fruit, nuts, and charcuterie. This enhances the flavour profile of each cheese and creates a delightful sensory experience.
Experiment with pairings: Try fig jam with Brie, grapes with cheddar, dried apricots with Roquefort, and honeycomb with Gruyère.
Don't forget the bread: Choose a variety of bread, from crusty baguettes to soft, buttery crackers.
Presentation Matters:
Melbourne's fromageries often present their cheeses with artistic flair. They understand that the visual appeal of a cheese plate is as important as the taste.
Arrange with intention: Create visual interest by arranging cheeses in a pleasing pattern, adding height with cheese cones or boards, and incorporating colourful accompaniments.
Garnish thoughtfully: Fresh herbs, edible flowers, and a sprinkle of sea salt can elevate the presentation.
Temperature is Key:
Fromageries carefully control the temperature of their cheeses to ensure optimal flavour and texture.
Bring cheeses to room temperature: About 30 minutes before serving allow the flavours to fully develop.
Use a cheese board or slate: These materials help maintain a consistent temperature.
By drawing inspiration from Melbourne's vibrant fromagerie scene, you can create cheese plates that are not only delicious but also visually stunning and intellectually stimulating.

The Benefits of Buying Fresh Cheese from Local Cheese Stores
Tumblr media
Cheese is a beloved food around the world, known for its rich flavor and versatile use in a variety of dishes. Whether you’re a fan of soft cheeses like brie or prefer something sharper like aged cheddar, the quality of the cheese you choose can make a big difference in your culinary experience. While supermarkets offer a wide selection of cheeses, buying from local cheese stores offers distinct advantages that go beyond just flavor. Here are several key benefits of purchasing fresh cheese from your local cheese store.
1. Superior Freshness and Flavor
One of the biggest advantages of buying cheese from a local cheese store is the freshness. Local cheese stores typically carry cheese that is sourced directly from nearby farms or artisanal producers. This means the cheese is often fresher than the pre-packaged options found in larger supermarkets. Fresh cheese not only tastes better but also has a richer, more complex flavor profile. Whether it’s a creamy goat cheese or a tangy blue cheese, locally sourced cheese often retains its natural flavors and textures, offering a taste experience that mass-produced cheese simply can’t match.
2. Supporting Local Producers
By purchasing cheese from a local store, you’re directly supporting local farmers and small-scale artisanal producers. Many local cheese shops work closely with regional dairies and cheesemakers, helping to keep these small businesses thriving. Supporting local producers ensures that they can continue using traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients to craft their cheeses. In turn, this fosters a sense of community and promotes sustainable food practices, as local producers often prioritize animal welfare, environmental care, and ethical sourcing methods.
3. Access to Unique and Artisan Cheeses
Local cheese stores often specialize in artisanal and small-batch cheeses that are difficult to find in large supermarkets. These cheeses are often made using time-honored recipes and techniques, resulting in unique and flavorful varieties. From small, hand-crafted cheeses with distinctive regional qualities to seasonal cheeses that are only available at certain times of the year, a local cheese store provides access to a wide variety of specialty cheeses that may not be available in mass-market retail outlets.
4. Personalized Customer Service
One of the greatest advantages of buying from a local cheese store is the personalized customer service. Unlike supermarkets, where staff may not be familiar with the products, local cheese stores often have knowledgeable employees who are passionate about cheese. These experts can help guide your purchase based on your preferences, whether you're looking for a cheese to pair with wine, need advice on the best cheese for a recipe, or want to try something new.
5. Reduced Carbon Footprint
Buying cheese locally can also have environmental benefits. Cheese that is sourced from nearby farms and produced using local methods has a lower carbon footprint compared to cheeses that are imported from other countries or regions. Transporting products over long distances requires significant energy and resources, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions.
Conclusion
Buying fresh cheese from local cheese stores provides numerous benefits, including superior freshness, unique flavors, and personalized service. By supporting small, local producers, you contribute to the sustainability of the local economy and the preservation of traditional cheese-making methods. Whether you’re an experienced cheese lover or just beginning to explore the world of cheese, a local cheese store offers an experience that’s both educational and delightful, bringing you closer to the rich cultural and culinary history of cheese-making.

First Ever Cheese Museum Opens in Paris: ‘It’s Gouda Brie a Delicious Visit’
— By Andy Corbley | Jul 17, 2024
Tumblr media
A display case at the Museum of Cheese in Paris – credit, Musee du Fromage, released to the media.
Fromage, Formaggio, Käse, Queso: Cheese—One of the Old World’s Great Romance Stories.
In the heart of Paris, a new museum has opened dedicated to the ages-old craft of cheesemaking in France, the second most prolific producer on the continent (behind Italy).
At the newly-opened Musee du Fromage, visitors can learn about the history of cheese making, something which may have been going on for 5,000 years. They can learn about the story of various famous French cheeses, see cheese made, talk to real cheesemakers, and yes, taste them.
The mastermind behind the museum is Pierre Brisson—who remembers Sunday afternoons at the market standing on his tippy-toes to look into the display cases of the cheesemakers and marveling at the variety.
Coming to Paris 15 years ago, he saw how developed the Parisian pride and museum scene was for the showcasing of wine, but cheese, perhaps an even more iconic French symbol, was notably absent.
Tumblr media
“People can see cheesemaking live and also talk to the cheesemaker,” Brisson told Euronews. “We are working with many traditional farmers, so we want people [to feel like they’re] kind of traveling when they taste the cheese. We are opening a little window in the heart of Paris to the rural side of France.”
The French have invented some of the world’s most beloved cheeses and just to name the headliners, there’s Camembert, Brie, Epoisses du Bourgogne, Roquefort, Ossau Irati, Comte, La Tur, and so many others that French readers are no doubt hollering to be included here.
“[The process] depends on so many things, even the humor of the animals whose milk is being used,” Agathe de Saint-Exupéry, one of the experts at the museum, tells the Guardian. “You can make the same good cheese every day, and every day it will taste different. It just cannot be done industrially.”
Cheesemaking is a good profession in France that makes a better living than other rural activities. Even so, Brisson knows firsthand it’s a productive, sometimes grueling job that is currently experiencing a labor shortage.
Like many nations, there is a continuous movement in France from the countryside to the cities, and Brisson hopes the museum will help people connect with their countryside heritage—and understand its value and what it contributes to French life even in the cities.
“Now, we are able to know, thanks to science, a lot of things about cheese. But our ancestors, they didn’t know all these details, but they still could make amazing cheese and develop very amazing skills of cheesemaking. So there is a know-how that’s developed for centuries that we kind of inherited today. We have a responsibility to keep this alive and to continue to pass to new generations the passion.”
The Concept —
In the heart of Paris, the Cheese museum offers an Educational and Interactive space for discovering France’s Cheesemaking Heritage and Regions: a first in the capital! The Musée du Fromage of Paris is an invitation to travel and meet producers, creating links and reflecting know-how.
This “living” place brings together :
A Dynamic, Modern museum to discover the world of cheeses and its territories
Dedicated rooms for courses, workshops and other events
A Dairy (daily production of cheese) to promote cheese-making know-how and encourage vocations.
A traditional Creamery and Cheese Shop
A Souvenir Store
Tumblr media
A Cheese Museum in the Heart of the World's Tourism Capital?
— In order to Encourage Vocations with young people (and the not-so-young) in the industry's professions (breeder, dairy farmer, cheese-making technician, cheesemaker, etc.) and therefore forge partnerships with schools (there are fewer and fewer candidates for the cheesemaking schools, etc.), companies and others...
— To Promote French Cheese-making expertise
— To Enhance the Beauty and Diversity of the country's regions
— To entertain, educate and inspire!
All Along the Museum Route the Museum Aims to Promote the French Cheese 🧀 🫕 Industry. Cheese Embodies :
Refinement and Nobility: Caseology is a science in its own right, just like oenology, with its own vocabulary, codes, processes, subtleties and respectability; cheese tasting is an art.
Tradition and Know-How: The history of cheesemaking is rich in secular gestures, as technical as they are legendary, which continue to be passed down with rigor and passion, to ensure the dynamism and quality of the industry, from the local to the international level.
Richness and Diversity: France offers the world's most beautiful and extensive cheese panorama: cheese everywhere, and a taste for everyone!
Pleasant and Popular: From the table of a Michelin-starred chef to a raclette party with friends, tasting cheese in all its forms excites the taste buds and brings gourmets and gourmands together in an intrinsically convivial atmosphere.
