"Percy, no."
You held your journal against your chest and turned your back on him. There were your ideas between the pages, your sketches, analysis of prototypes you did in the past and so much researches. Of course, such thing would get him curious, interested. A pure treasure for any tinkering or engineering passionate. A single glimpse of your notes and drafts had been enough for Percival to feel like a child in front of a new toy, and knowing that you made these made him weak in the knees. But you were adamant on keeping this journal for yourself.
"I am just saying that as an expert in mechanical—"
"No," you cut him off.
You took a step back, as if to put some distance between your journal and his burning green eyes. You were almost moved by the passion blazing in his gaze.
"I can let you analyse my pepperbox if you want," he tried to negotiate. "And in exchange, I can—"
"I already analysed it," you cut him off again as you started to walk away.
Percival followed behind you like an eager puppy, his jaw slightly agape.
"You did ?" he quickly cleared his throat. "So what did you think about it ?"
You raised an eyebrow without looking at him, sighing slightly as you heard his step behind yours.
"Bland," you answered. "I would have add more options."
He stayed silent for a bit and you could literally hear the gears in his mind working. You held your journal tighter against your chest, knowing that his eyes were still on it.
"You put a lock on it," he said after a few minutes of silence. "Are these...magic runes and alchemistic arcanes ?"
"...nice observation," you muttered, your tone neutral.
You knew he was observant and kind of a genius, but you did not expect him to catch up so fast with your talents.
Percival suddenly hurried to walk past you and stood in your way, stopping you in your track. For a second, you saw an excited child instead of the young man you knew, his eyes twinkling with curiosity and excitement. You could even hear him mentally squealing. Then, a blink of your eyes later, you were faced with the gunslinger you knew.
"You managed to mix mechanical engineering with alchemy and goddamn magic !?" he almost shouted, his eyes wide opened in surprise. "How did you manage to do that ?"
"By trying ?" you answered in a 'duh!' tone. "I know it's considered unethical by some people. I don't need your judgement, Percival."
"I don't think you're unethical."
It was your eyes' turn to widen in shock, his words echoing in your mind, silencing the murmurs you heard all your life and blinding the glares you constantly felt on your back.
"You're daring and adventurous, and it manifest through your ideas, your inventions. This is the proof of it," he pointed at your journal. "It thanks to people like you that we evolve and walk toward a future instead of a regressing present."
You stared at him so intensely, with so much emotions that he felt himself almost falling. You took a step forward and grabbed his wrist. Your grip was strong, matching the blaze in your eyes.
"Do you mean that ?" you murmured and by your tone alone, he knew how his answer mattered.
"I do."
You took a big shaky breath and nodded, a relieved and mirthful smile illuminating your gaze as a cruel weight disappeared from your being. Percival felt his cheeks reddening even more at the sight and cleared his throat.
"I...have sketches of a new prototype I plan to make," he stuttered, rubbing his neck. "And I would like your expertise to guide me. Would you please help me ?"
Your grip on his wrist softened as you nodded.
"It would be my pleasure," you said. "Thank you a lot, Percy."

GLITCHED ANON IS BACK AFTER LIKE 800 DECADES
ANYWAYS 007 HCS LETS GO
-He bottles up his emotions. A lot. And by that, I mean he completely shuts down and will not move, eat, speak, anything after bad rounds and literally the only thing that would snap him out of it is either a new round starting or slapping him.
-He has nerve damage in his arms from after effects of hacking.
-His hands and arms have various scars that are coolgui colored.
-Any scars during/post forsaken will scar weird, aka they’ll be coolgui colored.
-Noli WANTS that cookie. BAD. Aka, he’s been trying to convince 007 to ‘talk with him’ and join the killers, as well as regress back into his hacking habits. This has affected his image in some survivors eyes(both good and bad).
-Has HORRIBLE anxiety. During his hacking days it was centered around someone being out to get him or getting banned, when raising coolkid it was about coolkidd getting hurt or his past causing harm to coolkidd, and forsaken its. Basically everything. All of the above.
-His glasses are cracked and missing parts of the lenses, but he doesn’t care. He knows that they don’t have enough supplies and he doesn’t ’want to bother anyone’.
-When stressed, the Coolgui starts to act up, messing with his teleportation in forsaken(on rare occasions, he was sent out of the map.) and his Coolgui’d scars start to glow.
-He had BAD sleep problems, he rarely ever sleeps and when he does it’s plagued with nightmares.
-If needed(aka if they’re running low on food), he will purposely not eat and lie about eating. Its habit from when he was raising coolkidd and food was scarce. To his knowledge, no one has caught on.(Elliot is suspicious, as well as guest, but neither really. See him eat, as he often eats in his room/cabin).
-Sometimes he takes stuff from the generators to help BM get supplies for the sentries and dispensers, as well as fix stuff around the cabin + try and fix the coolgui to get them out of there.
-Noob is the youngest of the survivors(my HC) and sometimes it activates 007 and guests fatherly instincts, aka they both try to protect noob, just in diff ways.
-007 often fixes small things around the cabin when he can.
-eyebags. He has eyebags deeper than the Mariana Trench/silly
-He has a constant burning sensation in his limbs whenever he uses the Coolgui, it gets worse after rounds or if it’s a round with coolkidd.
-The noob on his hat can purr, and often jumps off his hat to try and comfort 007 when he’s overwhelmed or panicking. Sometimes he sends it to other survivors to comfort them.
-He is an EXPERT at fixing/making clothes, it saved money to not buy new ones.
-He’s tried to start a garden pre forsaken, but with a lack of time, the plants started to die, as well as his hacking giving him the downside of accidentally slowly killing plants the longer he interacts with them
-idk if i said it before but, 007 is trying to use the Coolgui in tiny ways the spectre doesn’t care about to make life better/easier for the survivors, as well as trying to grow a sustainable food source. It causes harm to him each time he uses the Coolgui outside of his ability.
-One time, when trying to get the plants to grow, the Coolgui freaked out due to his frustration and killed the plants and knocked him out, maybe even making a small explosion, one of the survivors were sent to check on him and promptly had a heart attack finding a glitching 0l7, this is also when his little gardening attempts were discovered.
-allergic to shrimp
OK GLITCHED ANON OUT
Ohhh!!! These are all so amazing and neat!
These headcanons actually fit so much with 007n7! Really awesome to read through, and some were even close to my very own!! 007n7 is such a little fella, I think I'm actually starting to like him with the amount of asks and headcanon there are of him :~]
See you in another 800 decades, Glitched anon! /j

Hermitcraft / Life Series Fic Recs
Because I love so many of them...
I'll split the fics into completed and updating fics, and try to only recommend currently updating fics (i.e., not abandoned). I'm going to write a little about why I like each fic and what the general vibes are - so this is also a kind of review I guess?
I've tried to @ the authors if they have a public tumblr. Sorry to anyone who didn't want to be tagged, I can remove any @ if you ask (or if I have embarrassingly tagged the wrong person). Anyway, enjoy, and I appreciate reblogs because I want as many people to see these fics as possible!!
This ended up being incredibly long so I'm putting a divider here. Click to keep reading!!! Also, fair warning: shipping ahead! Some fics will have mild sexual content, please read the tags if you are unsure <3
Updating Fics
I have already recommended Help Me To Breathe, lost in the dark (he's got a heavy heart), and There Are Monsters Nearby in this post, so I won't explain why I like them a second time, but definitely check them out!!
Death's A Good Gig by @mawofthemagnetar is probably going to be finished by the time this post gets to you, reader, but I'm putting it here anyway. It's short and sweet, one of my favourite representations of Zedaph (or, Zedeath) I've read, and just a joy to experience. If you like grim reapers and discussions of unions, this one is for you. Also I need more Zedaph in my life.
Look, I'm Sorry, Please Stop Scaring Everyone by @cat-in-the-desert reminds me a lot of a particular TV drama I liked when I was younger, which followed a similar premise. This fic follows Mumbo (vampire) and Grian (ghost) as they get up to various housemate shenanigans and meet their local magic-expert and salesman Scar. This fic is fun, but still includes a nice amount of Feelings and hinted-at Angst which I really love. It's lighthearted, but never boring.
It Hurts To Hope by Inquillitory is my favourite of the "Grian crash lands into Hermitcraft and causes problems for everyone" genre. Seeing how many fics there are with that premise, I think that says a lot. It handles Grian's weird Watcher stuff really well. Honestly, I just want to know what happens next!
killing the boy in the tv by @raspberrystruck is like a sickfic on steroids. If you want Grian with so much past trauma he forgets how to function in society, this is basically the fic for you. I really love how hybrid traits affect the characters' interactions in this fic, and how everyone is kind of messed up because of the imbalance Grian brings. It is wonderfully descriptive in all the right places!
Love Me Like I'm Dead by @daniofcrows is such a gem. You know how hard it is to find good Xisuma whump? It's impossible. I absolutely love how Xisuma and Evil X are characterised in this, and I am obsessed with the unique take on hanahaki disease which I have never seen handled in this way before. The balance between flashbacks and present day is maintained wonderfully and I cannot wait to continue reading this one. Wow.
Oh, you wanted me to do a verse? by @bugbbear is... kind of indescribable. It's horror. It's comedy. It's the apocalypse. It's boatem. Scar eats someone. One of the most interesting and unique apocalypse stories I have read. Slowly updating but worth the wait, in my opinion. This one NEEDS more attention.
So Much For Stardust by @a-plethora-of-peters is basically one of my all-time favourites. Which is a damn good achievement seeing as I don't usually read ZITS fics. Like, ever. In this fic, Skizz is a human abducted and hurt badly by aliens, now recovering in the care of good aliens who don't know how 'sentient' he is. Every update of this one makes me smile, it is wonderful. I love how the characters are written and how the different perspectives are shown. It is just great.
Solar Waltz by @raspberrystruck and aroundtheclock is a brilliant and very very sad regression fic. I love fluffy regression fics as much as the next guy, but this one just... hits different. The hurt/comfort levels are off the charts. Grian is so damn cute the whole time, while also being harrowingly complicated and sad. I am so ready for whatever comes next.
Tango's Castle of Cards by @evilrat-sabre is the one where Tango is a BUG. He's just a little guy (horror). This one is so beautifully written, with poetry-type interludes and perspective changes that really make everything feel so much more impactful. Finding out your buddy is a murder bug isn't the easiest thing in the world. I love this so much.
Traveling Thieves {Dark Fantasy AU} (series) by @amethystfairy1 is basically one of the series of all time. I know I keep saying that but it really really is. I love a good fantasy au, and I love an au with hybrids even more. In this world, hybrids are treated like slaves, but it isn't all doom and gloom for the main characters of each installment. There is a lot of hurt/comfort and the different stories feed into each other in really interesting ways. I try to read as much as I can, though I've missed a few because my emails are buggy. Definitely worth reading these fics, especially since now they're all starting to come together!
Completed Fics
Solving Counting Sheep by @theminecraftbee might have rearranged my brain chemistry a little. Another strong contender for 'fics that inspire me to kill Grian', this time with a more concrete notion of "replacement". Three is my favourite fucked up living weapon. It's so rare to find Evo fics in this day and age, too. This fic had me immediately clicking on every update as soon as I got the emails.
Rescue Fire by @imaginethat0327 is one of the most unique takes on a fictionalised life series game that I have ever read. The whole concept is explained in a realistic and easy-to-follow way, as we learn what's happening with the characters. There are several brilliant storylines happening in this one, but my particular favourites are Jimmy & Tango, Joel, and of course Scar & Grian. This fic is full of whump and, well, read the tags, it isn't always pleasant, but those are my favourite things ever. Definitely worth checking out this fic and its currently updating sequel.
don't you know about me? by takenbadgering is a wonderful comedy of errors with just the right amount of angst for a realistic setting type of fic. If you enjoy polyamory miscommunications, rave aesthetics, kandi, school teacher dynamics, and a lovely blend between grumbo, cubscar, and mumscar, this is the one.
Eventually the Birds Must Land by @milo-hypno follows a polyam ship I would have never thought of, and I cannot believe how much I loved it. This married-as-friends fic premise is wonderful, and captures the main trio (Grian, Mumbo, Impulse)'s personalities so well, while balancing them with the incredibly terrifying descriptions of the Watchers and their power. There's a lot of angst here, but it is ultimately hurt/comfort to the maximum degree. I loved reading it as it updated. Yay for gay marriage!
From The Archives (series) by @sixteenth-days was the absolute inspiration for my own Comms AU, and I will never forget its influence on me. As someone basically unfamiliar with TMA, I thought this series might be hard to follow, but it was not! I read all 57 parts in the span of two days, and I think it altered my brain chemistry. Please read it, even if (especially if) you don't know anything about TMA. The Cleo and Grian storyline lives in my head rent free. I mean it. This is horror at its finest. Also there's an audio series of this fic being released rn, which is very cool.
SUPERCRITICAL by @masque-of-plague hits different. It is such a wonderful take on the superhero/HotGuy trope, and it gets so super dark at some points! This one really takes swings at it's fictional government, which of course I love, while at the same time building this brilliantly emotional relationship between Scar and Grian. I do enjoy a bit of enemies to lovers, but the actual plot mixed into the story makes this one extra special. It is thrilling, with action that I don't get to see too often! Great work.
I am weary with contending! is one of the mumscarian fics of all time. From 'this house has people in it'-type horror, to magic gone wrong, to childhood trauma, to attempted assassination, to gender fuckery, this fic has it all. Usually I don't go for convex siblings, but this one is good enough to get a pass from me. Amazingly detailed worldbuilding alongside a brilliantly creative story.
It Spreads by @foxxology may not count as a fic, actually. It's a comic. But it's posted on ao3 so it counts. I was obsessed with this one as it was updating, honestly. It rocked me to my core. The art is phenomenal. The writing is brilliant. I love sculk.
Luck of the sea by Sleepy_Duck is a lovely take on mermaid and human interactions, with Grian as a marine life conservator and Scar as a very neglected mer. This one takes us emotionally in all sorts of directions, and offers lots of hope for the future of the characters. I heavily enjoyed this fic - if you like mermaids and marine biology, check it out.
there are many downsides to being a marine biologist by donnerstag is another mermaid fic but with a pretty different vibe. First of all, it follows what I would consider a rarepair Doc/Martyn. Second of all, reading this as it updated was a thrilling experience that nearly made me cry at certain points. I love how the relationship builds in this fic. It is honestly amazing. The whole idea of experimenting on a sentient sea creature, learning that he can communicate, then losing funding and having to save him from being dissected?!?! It's crazy. I love it.
Thus concludes my fic recommendations. I hope you enjoy at least some of these, and consider reblogging to spread these wonderful fics around <3

I’ve thought of another route after the asylum ending: where Francis develops schizophrenia after Nacha and Anastacha cut him off. I’m no mental health expert but after doing a bit of research this is what I could come up with so if there’re any inaccuracies, my bad. Francis is completely isolated and locked up in his white room. He’ll never see his wife and daughter again after he kidnapped them and forced them to love him. When they told him they don’t love him anymore, it ultimately broke him. He can try all he wants to escape but he’s all locked up. And now his spirit is so broken that he didn’t have the will to live or find them anymore. Francis spends the rest of his days crying, calling out for Nacha and Anastacha to come back to him or lie down on his bed in a listless catatonic state. Francis won’t eat or take his medication even if the nurses ask him to.
He will create a world where he’s still with his family again, before everything went downhill. He and Nacha are still in love, she fully supports him and cooks him his favourite meals. Anastacha still loves him as a father. He still gets to hug her and say “I love you to his family.” He will create scenarios where they all lovingly spend time together like the park, the pool, the beach, anywhere as long as he gets to spend his every waking moment with them. What Francis isn’t aware of is that he’s actually all alone and that he’s just talking to the walls.
The psychiatrists and detectives observed Francis’s strange behaviour of hearing voices, talking to himself, his catatonia, etc, however since mental health care wasn’t the best so I don’t believe they know how to deal with it. During Francis’s sessions with his psychiatrist, if they try to shatter his perfect delusions, Francis will break into hysterical sobs and will frantically attack his psychiatrist shouting, “No you’re wrong! My wife loves me! My daughter loves me! We’re happy together! I know they love me! We’re in love!”
Francis’s memories will get blurry but if his psychiatrist questions Francis about his past or show something that will trigger any of his awful memories like a pot of hot tea or cigarettes, Francis will become more unstable and will have a mental breakdown, shrieking in fear as vague memories of his father abusing him or his mother psychologically abusing him comes back. Once again the medical assistants have to restrain him.
Eventually, Francis’s delusions would evolve to him regressing into a time when he was still with his mother. Even though his last memories with his mother was traumatic, he still held some love for her and Francis wanted to go back to a time where his mom still loves him.
“Mommy…mommy…” Francis muttered like a sad little boy asking for his mother’s affection, “Mommy…I’m tired… mom…can I ask for a hug… dad’s being cruel again… mom… can you tell me a story…”
He would go from crying fits to happy childlike giggling and vice versa. Soon his delusions would combine where all the three people he loves the most in his life come together as one happy family. He wouldn’t have to experience sadness and loneliness again as long as he has his mother, wife and daughter with him. Sometimes Angus appears as this weird uncle figure/good friend because a part of Francis still cares for him in a morbid way. This shows who Francis is at his core. He was an extremely traumatised and lonely child who went through so much abuse that it turned him into a monster that hurts people yet buried his emotions deep within himself. Everyone in his life abandoned him, including his own family. If no one could truly love him, what else can he do other than create a world where he’s happy with the ones he loves?
After years of being locked up in his padded cell, Francis Mosses is no more. He lost any semblance of what’s left of his former self. All that’s left of him is an empty shell drowning in his own hallucinations and delusions of the comfort of his made up happy family. The doctors would either lobotomise him or wait until the day of his execution.
As the day of his execution comes, Francis will savour his final meal of beef stew and strawberry cheesecake as he cries because it’s tastes just like home, how Nacha made his meals, where he and his family would sit down to have a quiet family dinner together. When Francis is strapped to the electric chair, he could barely make out his surroundings but he thought he saw his wife and daughter at the front stands (and possibly Angus at the back). When the executioner asks for his final words, all Francis could say is, “Nacha…Ana…where are you? I still love you…” before finishing the job.
Angus could only hide the sadness in his eyes with his hat. Even though he’s angry that Francis got himself caught, he still sees him as a friend and a part of him misses him. Nacha and Anastacha are crying into each other’s arms for support. All of their source of trauma is finally over. Despite everything Francis put them through, they don’t truly hate them as they thought they would. They still felt some sympathy for him but nothing could put weight the grief they caused them. Both mother and daughter stuck to each other after the execution since they only have each other now and they’ll learn how to cope with this together.
~ SK Francis anon 🔪
This is definitely one of the worst and saddest endings of the SK fanfic. When he is hallucinating about his family, it reminds me of Alice: Madness Returns, there the protagonist created her own world of imagination.
I can also see that in spite of the trauma SK Francis had inflicted on them, there still part of Nacha and Anastacha that still care for him. They know its a wrong feeling but he has never been physically abusive to them, nor dropped his duty of being husband and a father. They are financially stable thanks to his hard work as a milkman. Its just that...his method of taking care of them is...suffocating. They don't have freedom when he's around. Meanwhile, Angus is weeping inside, not only he lost a companion on his business, but more importantly, his friend and ally.
It may take a looooolng loong way for Nacha and Anastacha to recover from the trauma. Its their life now.
Also, this is pretty silly and funny but can you imagine that during his execution, Isthar Ereskigal appeared and took away Francis.
"AH, my other lover, I finally got you!"
Tumblr media
Of course Francis, in deluded state, thought Nacha is talking to him. "Ah, my sweetie. I thought I'll never see you again..."
People around are mortified to see a floating undead female monster took the one of the worst criminal in their century.
Nacha is the most terrified of the bunch because how much she looks just like her. Ana felt the same.
"YOU TWO ENJOY YOUR LIVES! HE IS MINE NOW! HAHAHAHAH"
Then poof, the monster is gone with him.
I am sure Ishtar will "borrow" a potion from Lilith that will make him into a literal monster in Astral Circle.

Detailed information post on fictional caregivers/regressors.
Tumblr media
As the title suggests this is an informational post on fictional caregivers and regressors.
While most of this is based on personal experience, I will be basing some information off what I have seen others talking about.
Please note that I have disabilities which do heavily impact how I can personally engage with having a fictional caregiver. Also I am not an expert on anything spoken about on this post, it is mostly personal.
Without further delay let's talk about fictional caregivers and regressors!
Tumblr media
What is a fictional caregiver/regressor.
As the name suggests a fictional caregiver is a caregiver who is fictional! It could be an OC, a fictional character, a concept, an AU version of a character, anything! The only requirement is that that they don't physically exist as your caregiver/regressor in real life.
Tumblr media
Why a fictional caregiver or regressor? Why not find a real life one?
This again is very personal. It could be due to bad past experiences with caregivers or regressors- Or just people in general. It could also be due to internal issues, such as not being able to give and take in a way that would keep a relationship healthy.
Another common reason I've seen is because of mental health reasons. This could be involuntary (ie linking to delusions or maladaptive daydreaming) or voluntary (ie choosing to have one because of loneliness associated with depression).
It could also be for fun and/or imaginary play.
I've also seen people develop caregivers/regressors for spiritual reasons (kin and past life beleifs for example).
Regardless of the exact reason, it's often times a deeply personal thing for everyone!
Tumblr media
How do you choose a fictional caregiver?
Again this is a personal process for a lot of people. For some it could be a character they see as being a good caregiver for them. It could be because part of caregiving that the person didn't have in their own caregiver growing up.
However, if you are spiritual you may get ‘vibes’ or signs from your regressor- Or even memories of being with them.
In some cases it's completely involuntary such as: If you have a fictional caregiver because you have Maladaptive Daydreaming, often times it isn't voluntary and its whomever your daydream focuses on looking after your para.
It may take a while to find whichever version works for you, however finding that out can often help with the next parts.
Tumblr media
What to do if you have a fictional caregiver/regressor?
Some people like only imagine being looked after by (or imagine looking after) their fictional caregiver/regressor. For example someone imagines their fictional regressor babbling to them.
Some people like to imagine that they are physically being with their fictional caregiver/regressor. For example they may pretend that their fictional caregiver has brought them a drink, despite having made it themselves.
Even when you imagine your fictional caregiver/regressor is personal. For some people they are with them constantly, for some people they only imagine them while regressing.
Activities can also change! Some people imagine them only when doing difficult tasks, some have them even when they're doing adult tasks.
Please note that if one version sounds ‘weird’ to you that's fine! Everyone has their own limits and personal tasted. But please be respectful to people who do other types of engaement!
Tumblr media
I now have a character I'd like to be my fictional caregiver/regressor, how do I engage with them? What do I do?
You can do anything that helps you with your caregiving or regression!
Personally we started with minimal interactioms with engaging with our fictional caregivers. And would only imagine them praising us for basic tasks, nice words when going to bed, even singing when trying to take a nap.
We've always struggled with picturing ourselves with fictional caregivers though, in our daydreams we either are a fictional character or watching as 3rd person entity that doesn't exist. However, I now realize that it helps to imagine the fictional caregiver looking after the fictional regressor (me?) and acting that out with out directly engaging with the caregiver as ‘real world me’.
Different alters now also have their own imagined versions of their own caregivers and the characters they're imagined as.
In the real world we do minimal regression activities (because it's unsafe irl to do so) however in my imagination the fictional caregiver is doing a lot and caring for the fictional caregiver in many ways.
I really hope this makes sense, but this is how we personally engage with ours.
Tumblr media
Safety and mental health when engaing with a fictional caregiver/regressor?
This is not something I see talked about a lot (if at all) but as someone with psychosis, immersive daydreaming and a dissociative disorder, I think it's very important to watch out for ‘red flags’ in regards to mental health.
Obviously everyone is different and most people have no issues with having a fictional caregiver/regressor, however from experience I am aware that red flags can be overlooked (especially if they aren't talked about)
Here are some things I would personally look out for:
1. If the fictional caregiver/regressor starts acting outside of your control.
Because of their status as being fictional, if you notice that your thoughts start to go against what you have planned (ie, you want your regressor to say “thank you” and they say ‘don't like it’) then this could be an indication of them being an alter or hallucination.
2. If the day dreams become so intense you loose time (ie half and hour, hours, even days) with out intending to or to your knowledge
Having daydreams/an imagination should not be this intense. This is dissociation, common with a lot of conditions, but if you are imagining the whole time and ‘wake up’ hours later, it will start to negatively impact your life.
3. If your caregiver/regressor makes you feel bad.
This could be in many ways, if they start acting mean, or even if you start to associate them with a traumatic event, it may be time to look at finding a replacement or alternative character to focus on.
4. Becoming upset or depressed when leaving a daydream scenario.
I want to clarify that some people feel bad when they can't regress or day dream, this is normal. However, if you find yourself spending all day at work only surviving to regress and see your fictional caregiver/regressor, is not a normal or safe thing.
This could indicate maladapting daydreaming or big real world issues you need to confront.
5. Being aware around doing tasks your regressed self is too young to be doing.
I want to make it clear that regression is different for everyone and some people do not experience this.
However sometimes while regressed, we loose some of our motor functions and find it very hard to to hand eye coordination, so things like cutting up food with a sharp knife should be avoided- Even with a fictional caregiver with you.
Disclaimers:
I want to make it clear that I am not a therapist or an expert on mental health- There are many reasons these things could happen, and it may be a one time thing. However if they keep happening I would recommend taking a step back or talking to a therapist or a professional with knowledge on mental health.
Tumblr media
What does it mean when people say they have a fictional caregiver/regressor?
This can mean many things.
For some people it is what it says, a character they enjoy imagining looking after them.
However, in other cases it could mean:
The person is a system and their caregiver/syskid alter is a fictive (an alter who is based off a fictional character) and they class them as a fictional caregiver due to the fact they're based off a fictional character.
The person has MaDD and the caregiver/regressor looks after or gets looked after by their paraself
The person has a psychotic disorder and has delusions that the character is in real life with them to look after/be looked after by
The person is kin and was in that dynamic with their caregiver/regressor in a past life (or someone they with they were with in that dynamic during their past life)
The persons fictional caregiver/regressor is one of their fictional others/FO (a fictional character the person ships themselves with- not always romantically)
Again, it can mean many things. If you know the person then it may be fine to ask, but always check before asking because for some people it is a very personal topic.
Tumblr media
If anyone has anything to add onto this post feel free to! Both questions and information are welcomed.
Again, I am not an expert or the creator of fictional caregivers/regressors. If anything on this post is glaringly ‘wrong’ feel free to correct me!

Civil liberties report warns that Italy along with Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Slovakia intentionally undermining rule of law ‘in nearly all aspects’ Italy’s government has profoundly undermined the rule of law with changes to the judiciary and showed “heavy intolerance to media criticism”, in an emblematic example of Europe’s deepening “democratic recession”, a coalition of civil liberties groups has said. A report by the Civil Liberties Union for Europe (Liberties) said Italy was one of five “dismantlers” – along with Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Slovakia – that “intentionally undermine the rule of law in nearly all aspects”. In Hungary, long classified as an “electoral autocracy”, researchers detected “significant regression” in the rule of law in 2024. Pressure on non-governmental groups and media intensified after the launch of Hungary’s sovereignty protection office, which has broad powers to investigate Hungarians active in public life. “Europe’s democratic recession has deepened in 2024,” Liberties said in a statement. The report, shared with the Guardian before publication, highlighted judicial systems subject to political manipulation, weak law enforcement against corruption, overuse of fast-track legislative procedures, harassment of journalists and growing restrictions on peaceful protests. “Without decisive action, the EU risks further democratic erosion,” the report – compiled by 43 human rights organisations in 21 EU member states – concluded. Liberties began the annual exercise in 2019 to shadow the European Commission’s rule of law reports, which are meant to serve as a democratic health check on EU member states. The NGO’s six reports showed “the alarming persistence of rule of law violations throughout the European Union,” said Viktor Kazai, senior rule of law expert at Liberties. “All fundamental aspects of the rule of law have faced increasingly severe problems in the past few years,” he added, while the EU’s attempts to reverse the decline had been “disappointingly limited”. “The most worrying category of countries” were the “dismantlers”, Kazai said, governments that were taking steps to undermine the rule of law.

May I ask about your Jason Todd idea? <3
Hm, okay so. How to lay this out sensitively since I know it might be a tad controversial...
Prefacing by saying I'm not an expert on the minutias of Jason characterization. I like him when he appears, I think the battle for the cowl/Morrison era and some parts of modern era for him are Weird and Bad, but I'm not Jason scholar (for that I'd say maybe check out @/tumblingxelian and their great video essays), I'm just trying to think of what might be an interesting step forward for him.
First, the canon facts
Jason got lobotomized and has panic disorder on steroids. By the end of Gotham War (specifically when Jason was. Flying the batplane into the asteroid. God I can't believe that's the plot) he was finding it in himself to power through said panics
In Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #12, the joker gives Jason a "low dose" of joker venom, which has an ambiguous effect on Jason, allowing him to power through the fear (which joker explicitly states is still very much present, just not physically debilitating, like when Jason couldn't run over in either Catwoman #57 or #58, the one with the kid in the building) even though he'd been able to do that sans venom over in Gotham War, like I previously stated.
The effect of said joker venom seems to be lingering for now, minus the creepy grin side effect it gave Jason over in that man who stopped laughing issue, as seen in the latest batman issue (number is escaping me rn, #147??). He still has the stutter which is a shorthand for fear, he's drawn with fearful expressions by Jorge Jimenez, but he says that he's "working through it" thanks to the chemicals
This is both super interesting and kind of maddening as it doesn't completely remove the consequences of what happened in Gotham War, but is trying to sweep them under the rug and get back to business as usual. I, however, propose making said consequences front and center like a fashionable urn on a mantle piece:
Since it's never stated how exactly the joker venom works, and I think the current answer is "it works how the story needs it to" I've decided that because it's a low dose, it eventually wears off. And when it wears off, Jason's back to square one in terms of mental state. Ergo, if Jason doesn't want to live the rest of his life as quaking shivering husk of his former self...he's going to need more.
(read more for the meat of things)
So, Jason self medicates for a condition given to him by the father he has endlessly complicated feelings towards with a cure invented by a man who represents everything he hates in the world who once tried to take everything from him.
Which, insert poetic cinema gif here, I'm quite proud of myself for that one.
Anyway, there's a lot of directions you could take this. Personally I think it'd be interesting to explore Jason trying to get back into the drug trade like he did in UTRH (FULL TRANSPARENCY I HAVEN'T READ THE FULL COMIC, I KNOW BROADSTROKES BUT IM NOT GONNA TRY AND MAKE PARALLELS) as he tries to use the resources (production plants and other drug runners who can hook him up with samples of joker toxin/similar stuff you can probably find around Gotham) to manufacture his own cure that means never having to go back to the joker again. Maybe he ambushes a joker toxin chemical production plant to get his own supply, and then Jason uses this as his foothold back into that world.
This isn't necessarily me saying we should regress Jason alll the way back to UTRH, that was before his anti-hero era and I'm not willing to fully shoot him back into the past. I just think that's not how you tell good stories in a medium like comics. But it'd inherently be a little different just bc he's doing it for different, slightly more self motivated (depending on your take on villain Jason) reasons and the people around him would have a different reaction to it.
Anyway, all sorts of problems can arise! Depending on how you wanna characterize Jason (wayward son who longs to be back in the fold or black sheep who doesn't play by daddy's rules, etc) he can either a) try and hide this criminal enterprise from his giant family full of nosy detectives (good idea there jay) OR do it out in the open, trying to justify himself but still putting himself on the opposite side of the family again (not the law bc that boy hasn't been on the 'right' side of it since he died)
There's also the fact that Jason now needs to take something 24/7 in order to live his life. He essentially can't be without it, he's dependent on it, in fact he'd get sick without it despite any adverse effects it may have on him (which are guaranteed, I mean. No clinical trials)
I imagine it'd be easy to become addicted to it in some way.
And uh. This is the part where it works slightly better as a fanfic pitch than an actual comic pitch. Because as much as I think it'd be such an interesting beat for Jason's character considering his fraught history with addiction and drugs (looks away from that one urban legends story where he suggests terrorising addicts to get to the suppliers and bruce lectures him. The easiest way to make Mr "we don't sell drugs to children" sympathetic and you beefed it)
I also fully recognise that this is a sensitive topic that DC doesn't have the best track record with (although addicts aren't a monolith and feel a number of ways about addictions portrayals in comics) and that there's probably some pitfalls inherent in the premise, namely bc of Jason's background as an impoverished kid and his grey morality, and how those play into stereotypes of addicts. Addiction is already such a misunderstood and stigmatized condition that I imagine playing with it with an antihero might be enough to turn some people off. Addiction is not a moral failing and I'd hate to write it as a moral failing of Jason akin to his willingness to kill, etc.
But with all that said, I think that stereotypes are primarily harmful because of their shallowness. They inhibit understanding of groups labeled "other" by presenting them in simplistic ways that don't portray richness or complexity. And I think a truly good red hood comic could give both sympathy and complexity to Jason, even as an addict. If anything, Jason is a popular character (mostly) and there could be something nice about seeing a main character go through what you're going through, gritty details and all. YMMV (can we bring that back btw?) and it depends on execution. There's a lot of ways it could go wrong, but seeing as it just lives as a hypothetical rn, I think there's also a lot of ways it could go. I mean, not right, it's a downer story beat for Jason but it's mostly meant to be interesting and a vehicle for more stories as Jason navigates it, ya know?
Anyway, I have a lot of spiels littered in my notes app and discord DMs that elaborate on all this (how this could work as act 1 in a broader Jason story where his little operation goes to shit and he has to hit the road (jack) and maybe do some character development for better or worse. I'm a sucker and wanna say better- not squeaky clean better but. Yknow, finding himself to an extent. I recognise I'm a sap and a fool tho. Or how a new outlaws team could factor into either of those eras (since I do like Jason with an outlaws team. It gives him an excuse to exercise his compelling relationships and dynamics with other characters without having to constantly tip-toe around the elephant in the room whenever he's with the batfamily all the time. He just needs a good lineup) but that's all for another time
... though without elaborating on the vision in my head it kind of just sounds like my pitch is "Jason gets addicted to his hyper-anxiety medication" BUT I SWEAR ITS MORE THAN THAT.
It's like. If Jason has struggled as a character (and this is very subjective on my part so feel free to disagree) because he has compelling relationships with all of the batfamily, but also has compelling grey morality that makes it hard to capitalize on those relationships, without the conflict always coming to "Jason stop killing!" "Nuh uh!" OR just being ignored, and the main way writers have addressed this is via reboots instead of arcs...
Then giving Jason and the bats:
real, legitimate and fresh reason for jay to be mad at Bruce (taking their relationship of love with very little understanding to it's most dramatic conclusion)
give the family a real reason to want to bring him back into the fold (feel bad about the lobotomy and it would be pretty immoral to let Jason waste away slowly and painfully because of something Bruce did)
capitalize on all the ways Jason is sympathetic (bc the addiction is a natural lead into his backstory, which is one of his most sympathetic elements)
And the ways in which he's very out of step with the bats post-resurrection (I'd be mad asf too if i came back to life just for my dad to a) not avenge me and b) LOBOTOMIZE ME meanwhile the cunt ass clown giving me my meds is just lurking out there).
Idk it's not a sophisticated pitch as of this moment but I think a real chef (writer) could cook something w/ this

Personal TADC Headcanons ramble
Cat - Pomni
Little - Ragatha
Regression or dreaming? I still haven’t decided
And they are friends :)
I have very little knowledge of the age/pet regression community. Over the past year, I've been looking into that and finding it relatable. I think this might be more related to age dreaming or pet dreaming. To others who are more knowledgeable, please tell me anything.
Life in the circus is stressful
On separate nights
They both found ways to cope
Pomni meows at night to help her sleep
Softly meows so no one else can hear her
She purrs to comfort herself and others
She makes the “Mrrp” sound when she is surprised or curious
She hisses, her fangs appear when she’s stressed or angry (canon?), and it gets nasty if you anger her
Does run on all fours whenever needs to escape (rarely this happens, but it’s more for comedy)
Sometimes just for fun, but only when shes comfortable
Wears a fuzzy cat hoodie
She wears her cat ears and a tail; she crafted those
The tail can move as if it were real (digital circus magic idk)
Ragatha helped make her tail as she is an expert at sewing/knitting
Despite her touch aversion, she wants to nuzzle and show her friendliness
It takes time to get used to touch, but she appreciates the patience and care
Ragatha regresses to a little kid (4 years or less?)
Sometimes becomes nonverbal
Wears cute dresses (Raggedy Ann inspired)
Wears overalls with cute designs on the pockets
Likes to play “house”
Likes to dress up and wear different bows
Loves hugs
Babbles sometimes
Some baby talk
Carries and cuddles stuffed toys for comfort
She talks to her toys
She wants to cry and be hugged because she is always the one who tries to be positive for everyone (it’s unhealthy and stressful coping)
She wants to be held and have someone to tell her, “Everything’s going to be okay.”
She grew up too quickly in her past life, so this coping mechanism helps her a lot
♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎
“The first time she found out” dialogues
R: Hi, Pomni! How are ya? Did you uhh… sleep well last night?
P: Yeah, I did! Thanks.
R: Aw, it’s no problem. I thought I heard something last night.
P: What did you hear?
R: Well… I thought I heard meowing.
(Nervous laughter)
P: Oh, that? Ahaha- I wonder what it was.
R: *gasp* A cat? Ooh- Are you secretly caring for a cat? I promise I won’t tell Caine.
P: Heheh. Something like that.
R: What do you mean?
P: Ah… Well- I can explain it to you. Please, come in. (her room)
R: Oh, all right then. I’m here to listen, friend
Pomni clearly explains her coping mechanisms, and Ragatha completely understands and supports her. Ragatha reassures her and tells her if she needs care, Ragatha will always be there to help. Pomni expresses gratitude towards her new friend.
R: There’s something I… have to tell you too.
P: Sure, Ragatha. Please don’t be ashamed. You’re so kind to me, and I want to return that kindness.
Ragatha explains her coping mechanism and feels a bit shameful. But Pomni reassures her that her feelings and regression coping mechanisms are valid. She tells her it’s okay to be a responsible adult and still regress when necessary. Ragatha thanks Pomni for her support and vice versa.
♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎
Together now! They have play dates and take care of each other.
Ragatha calls Pomni “Pom Pom” when she’s little
Pomni likes to play with Ragatha’s hair like a cat plays with yarn
They play together in a game of “house”
Friendly cuddles! It took Pomni time to get used to, but she enjoys them
Lots of purring
Pomni tries to annoy Ragatha with her meows, but Ragatha can’t help but enjoy them and meows back; she laughs lightheartedly
Whenever Ragatha is upset, she sobs like a little kid; Pomni comforts her with purrs and lets her pet her
If anyone makes Little Ragatha upset, Cat Pomni becomes protective and hisses at the person making her friend upset
They both run around and chase each other playfully
They nap together and dream together (again, it’s that digital circus magic)
Ragatha imagines herself as a smaller doll (Art of her beta design by Gooseworx)
Pomni imagines herself as a small toy cat
(Similar to what her VA said when asked what would they be if they were stuck in TADC, from the Momocon panel)
The dream sequence plays out similarly to Marcile’s good dream from the Dungeon Meshi episode “Hag/Nightmare” (as seen in the mirage)
BONUS Random little roleplay/story
Pomni: Ugh…
Ragatha: I know, what a long day today… That adventure was already enough.
Pomni: I think we need a little TLC, right? Heh.
Ragatha: Oh yeah. Hehe! Umm… do you want to play? *She twiddles her fingers*
Pomni: Mrrrp! I mean- yeah, I’m good with that! *She gives a thumbs up*
Ragatha: Yaaay! Playtime! *She claps her hands*
Pomni: Meeeowww. *She softly meows and smiles.*
Ragatha: Hehe! Meeow! Kitty come to play! *She giggles like a kid, covering her mouth.*
Pomni: Mrreow… *She paws at her head, taking off her hat.*
Ragatha: Huh?? Oh- Do you- you want your ears?
Pomni: *She nods and smiles shyly* Mmhm… mrrreh-
Ragatha: Here you go, kitty cat. *She grabs a pair of cat ears from Pomni’s vanity*
Pomni: Thank you, meow. *She puts them on and meows more.*
Pomni begins to get on all fours like a cat and meow like one too.
Ragatha giggles about and copies her a bit.
- That is all for meow! Thanks for reading. -

Why AP Statistics Matters
AP Statistics provides students with foundational skills in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. In today’s data-rich environment, this skill set is not only relevant but highly valuable across disciplines. Colleges and universities recognize this course as a rigorous introduction to statistical reasoning. A top score not only boosts your application but can earn you college credit, saving time and tuition fees later on.
What the AP Statistics Course Covers
The College Board outlines the AP Statistics course into four major themes:
Exploring One-Variable Data Learn to describe patterns, identify outliers, and summarize data using visual and numerical tools.
Exploring Two-Variable Data Understand correlation, linear regression, and how to interpret scatterplots and residuals.
Collecting Data Dive into study design, including surveys, experiments, and observational studies. Learn about bias and how to avoid it.
Probability, Random Variables, and Sampling Distributions This unit builds the foundation for statistical inference with important concepts such as binomial and normal distributions.
Inference for Categorical and Quantitative Data Use confidence intervals and hypothesis testing to draw conclusions from data.
Each topic is not only critical for the exam but also essential for understanding how data drives decision-making in everyday life.
