Hello! I recently read your Rites of Cybertron post about the major thirteen holidays for the original Thirteen Primes, but there were only twelve holidays in the post. Is there a holiday for Solus? What would it be like?

WHOOPS totally forgot Solus in my tired writing haze. Here the link to the previous post.

The Rite of Embers

Solus Prime is a legendary figure in Cybertronian mythology. She represents life, creativity, femininity, fertility, and so much more. Her core symbolism shifts entirely depending on city and world (in the case of Caminus particularity). However, there has been one great holiday reserved for her and her great deeds.

The cycle is dedicated to connection and healing. It is a holiday for those with bonds, lovers, friends, family, anyone who has worldly connection. It begins days before the actual holiday as every bot prepares a gift to give to someone special. It is traditional to make a gift personally, but that doesn't stop mecha from hawking their wares deca-cycles in advance. Despite that, most do craft their own gifts and prepare to offer them at first light on the cycle of the rite. Most of the time, the young prepare simple things such as armor attachments and small tools with symbols carved into them. Mentors will offer their wards things that are useful, a way to show their young one that they care while also preparing them for the world ahead of them. Meanwhile friends and lovers will exchange items of personal significance, usually objects that mean nothing to others.

It is a special thing to take a gift. Usually it is something that can be worn or otherwise carried without issue, and so mecha make a point of showing off their gifts. Once gifts have been received, mecha take time to dedicate to working on something together. Solus was a Prime of the forge. It is only right that her holiday allow bonded bots to work to create something together. Families will often prepare meals, especially if they are poorer. Younger companions will usually create jewelry or be "rebellious" by painting each other as a way to show that they helped "forge" the other. Lovers and friends will generally use their respective skillsets to produce items that showcase their unity. Ratchet, Jazz, and Orion Pax made quite a few elegant dagger pens that also doubled as scalpels.

The Rite of Embers ends with every bot, young and old, building a fire, large or small. They then pray beside it, not moving until the fire has burned down to embers in remembrance of Solus Prime's mighty life and unfortunate fall. Those who adhere to the old faith will skip the gift giving entirely and instead use their great bonfires to forge weapons and tools, each made unique. They do this to remember Solus's purpose and kindness in arming her brethren. They take her example very seriously.

I just woke up from a weird dream with fictional characters & stufz, so me talkz 'bout it (me still sleepy righ' now). =u=👍✨

Imma split the dream in 3 parts below the cut.

1. MLP: FIM (or just Twilight Sparkle)

2. Avatar: the Last Airbender

3. Transformers One (mostly D-16)

Part 1 - MLP: FIM

Things kinda looked like the setting for the "Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?" meme, but in the show's artstyle. Princess Twilight Sparkle was flying by herself, then she landed on the tall, grassy cliff. There was faint moonlight illuminating that spot, & it was pretty. She looked around at the land below & said something, but I don't remember what.

Oh yeah, Twilight here was still only slightly taller than the average pony like she was for most of the show after the moment she became an alicorn. I still haven't finished watching the show after I finished watching season 6 back in spring of 2017. Maybe someday, I'll get around to it, but when I do, I'm rewatching the first 6 seasons first.

This first part didn't last that long; it was here when the dream changed into something else.

Part 2 - A:tLA

It was daytime with no clouds, & there was this big wall that someone was trying to sneak past. Oh, the wall had a rectangular hole in the center like there was supposed to be a window with glass, & it wasn't there before. Zuko had his season one ponytail (but I think his end-of-show mindset) & was the guard, & he was watching things like a hawk.

Suddenly, a bunch of people showed up like the world was just saved & it was time to clean up the environment. Now there's a long front porch in front of the wall filled with people. There were tons of people (mostly waterbenders including Katara, oh, & Sokka) wafting through the huge lake in front of the wall. There was a forest on the other side of the lake too. I remember standing there thinking it's too bad she can't see all these colors, but at least she can "see" with her earthbending & can hear really well.

On the right side, there was some dirt ground with a big gate a few yards away from the shore. More people came through, & one person was on a big horse with dark blue fur & a light blue mane & tail. Young Princess Luna? But realistic horse? Well, except for the unrealistic colors, but still. Huh??? Maybe the colors are coincidental... Hm...

Oop, the dream is changing again. Next part-

Part 3 - Transformers One

Good lord, of course this one's the longest-

It all looked like stopmotion, but with visual edits to the frames such as altering facial expressions on the toys & action figures. I saw Yolopark figures D-16 & Orion Pax (both cogless), maybe Elita-1 & B-127 (cogless, or cogged?), & other random toys mostly to the left & right. They were all animated on this light-gray tabletop against a white wall, & the lighting... could've been a bit more professional? Oh, & there was this homemade paper banner-sign thingy with wooden stakes for poles. What did the words say? I couldn't get a good look at it, sorry. I know it was colored on with color pencils tho.

All the non-Transformers toys were dancing & celebrating, then they suddenly parted to the sides to make room for D-16. He had gotten a running start & slid forward on his knees while holding out & shaking little cheerleader pom poms made of shimmery lavender & silver tinsel. His face was edited to look like his big smile he had in the movie after he met Sentinal in person for the first time (you know, when Sentinal left the room). In the dream, he was shouting "Yeah!" & it sounded just like his voice. He looked & sounded so happy! cx

Orion then runs up to him from the right (D's left), & they hug & bonk their foreheads together while laughing. D then got up & celebrated some more. The others are still celebrating & stuff. Oh, I think Elita & B were in the crowds? I think...

& what the frick were they all celebrating? No idea. I'll make something up, uuuhh... They're celebrating... the... the fans! Uh, the fans promoting the movie better than the marketing team. Yeah. Perfect. 👍✨

Later in the stopmotion, D & Orion are alone together. The room's light was off, but it wasn't super dark. It was like daylight trying to get past window blinds. There was a bookshelf behind them, & there was this big book... Sorry, the details are fuzzy here. I can't remember this last part as vividly. I think they were talking? I could hear D's voice as clear as day, but I don't know what he was saying. He sounded really happy though.

This part's especially weird to me. As my mind was transitioning from the dream to the waking world, D-16's voice was transitioning into my memory of Brian Tyree Henry (his voice actor) singing in that too-short Vivo song I found out about via a Tumblr post yesterday. It's called Love's Gonna Pick You Up. I can still hear it in my head as I'm typing this for you internet people, lol.

“Won’t somebody think of the children??? Look, I’m not a pediatrician on purpose. Kids are great, they shouldn’t be hurt. But are we gonna talk about them every other paragraph? Apparently, yes. Also, this feels like the episode of a tv show that’s designed to set up the spin-off.

* Starting right in the middle of an abduction is such a great place to begin!

* “They understood, Aden. We all did.” Her fingers clenched in his jacket, her left leg beginning to drag. “You were fighting for our survival and they died in battle.” Harsh breaths. “Don’t take that honor from them by using their deaths as a whip with which to punish yourself.” Great line for a warrior.

* “Every white knight needed a deadly black sword at his back.”

* I love her possessiveness of everything Aden has ever given her, even if it’s a trait from her pathology. Her parents took her only shiny pretty thing ever and I hate them too

* She sends him plans on how to take out Vasic and forcibly remove the gauntlet. I love it when Silent Psy are hilarious.

* Hey, Pax Marshall and Payal Rao!

* Why do they keep bringing up Stefan, my beloved, without us getting to actually see an interaction???

* “She’d never do that to a child. Never. That cruelty was simply beyond her. So maybe, just maybe, she wasn’t a monster and could be permitted to love Aden.”

* Wait, she’s actually mad at him because she had a nightmare? I’m sorry, what?

* Nope. Still hate Dev.

* Blake grooming Beatrice is just sick (I know it’s supposed to be, but it’s acheived its aim of being stomach churning).

* I don’t understand why she’s so upset at Aden’s parents for leaving him. Aren’t all Arrows, by definition, given up by their families? He had parents way longer than most. For that matter, what if a parent doesn’t pass the background check? Will they forcibly remove the kid from the parent?

* “The feel of her acted like nitroglycerine in his blood, setting off a sensory explosion that made his heart thump and his skin heat.” I can’t not comment on this line. I know the author is thinking about nitro in race cars. But in medicine we use nitroglycerin, and when that hits your blood, it dilates the blood vessels. Drops your blood pressure. I guess technically it can briefly help with an erection. Just…not really a drug you’d ever use to get the engines going, if you know what I mean. You’re more likely to get a headache and/or pass out.

* Axl and Amin—why do we know exactly zero about them? They’re important to Aden.

* The mirror is a cool super power. I assume that he’s been hsing that to repair the issues with the Net? Wiping out his people afterward?

It took so many days to finish this. I kept hoping I’d enjoy it more the second time, like a Mercy/Riley or Hawke/Sienna effect, but nope. Snooze fest, despite the fact that I love Aden. On well.

Damn it, he was ruining everything! Why did he have to come back, how did he come back! He was wining over the citizens favor, they had seen the video that'd exposed him and now they were mulling over what should be done with him. The temptation to snap back....to tell Zeta that he'd happily do it again! But he wouldn't dare, that would dig him a deeper hole then he was already in.

Sentinel flinched as Zeta knelt down, feeling his servos grip at his wings tightly and grunting as he felt it dent under their grip. He assumed Zeta was going to kill him but instead he found himself in front of the two who had previously looked up to him, he could see the look in D16s optics....it was taking everything they had not to just shoot him.

Slowly he tried to crawl back but felt himself bump into Zeta and froze " We can't just kill him. It's wrong, we should at least give him a trial." Orion suggested as he looked up to Zeta " We'd be no better than him if we just....publicly executed him." at least he was reasonable, but what made Sentinel nervous was how D16 was staring at him and he was right to be as he aimed his fusion cannon at him.

He truly thought he was going to die, his frame tensing up before Orion stepped in front of him. The two arguing amongst each other, it had at least bought him some time to think. The false prime lowered his head to the ground and began to think....think of a way to get out of this mess.....

He couldn't run because one of his pedes were seriously damaged....which means transforming was a no go, he couldn't see that well because he's lost one of his optics so fighting would be a challenge....not to mention Zeta was watching him like a hawk.....and he had a feeling this D16 wouldn't hesitate to shoot him the moment he made a move....so what could he do?

Maybe he could use Orion Pax, use his sympathy and kindness against him.

The Prime tried so hard to keep calm, at least for a bit longer. His dentae started to grit some more-- Sentinel was testing every little bit of his patience. He wanted to rip him to shreds, have the world see the very cog he'd undoubtedly STOLEN from Megatronus-- no, not just that, his very sparkcore. But this wasn't HIS choice. This wasn't HIS time, HIS era-- and Zeta couldn't take the freedom of what to do with Sentinel from the people.

He pointed down at the other with his staff. " Lies. As all of Iacon had witnessed, thou hast knelt before the very enslavers, giving them our fuel, our means of survival-- the blood of Primus. Thou sayest it is to keep them from destroying us... but thou hast been giving them power through the use of energon. All because thou'st desired power... thou even killed my sibling, Alpha Trion, Recordskeeper. The people shall decide thy fate. "

His optics flicked off to the two poor young souls that'd been dragged into the middle of this. He knew of them-- he had seen them, within the caves where he and many of his siblings died from the ambush. Poor Orion looked so... conflicted. But Zeta knew, ever since his gladiator days, the birth of Cybertron had always been steeped in energon and blood alike. This would be no different. He knelt down for a moment to grab at Sentinel's very wings, his grip so tight it was actively denting the metal... and he started to make his way for the two miners.

Then, Zeta tossed Sentinel to their pedes, gesturing to the defeated false Prime.
