This was a performance of Lombok designer’s model on Festival Mataram 2017. The concept was about traditional food and they took “pelecing” as the main theme of this model.
Kangkung is Indonesian green vegetables which is the basic ingredients of Sasak (Lombok) traditional food name “pelecing”.
Festival Mataram 2017 also presented various cultures and traditions of Lombok. The event was held in two days and succeeded in presenting Lombok’s indigenous.

In Between Dream and Contemplating Journey (4)
Sesuai jadwal awal, gue seharusnya di Sumbawa dari hari Rabu sampai Sabtu malam. Karena beberapa faktor - tapi yang utamanya adalah karena gue merasa overwhelmed - gue pun memutuskan untuk ke Mataram Sabtu pagi. Keputusan itu baru bulat di Jumat malam sekitar pukul 22.30 WITA. Sekilas info bahwa kehidupan di Sumbawa itu sudah sepi mulai pukul 21.00. Jadiii, di Jumat malam itu sudah tentu gue belum mendapatkan moda transportasi yang bisa membawa gue dari Sumbawa ke Mataram kurang dari 10 jam mendatang. Sebab, jam segitu kantor travel sudah tidak beroperasi. Gue sudah memikirkan segala alternatif dan melakukannya, sampai akhirnya gue bertekad bulat. "Berarti besok pagi kelar subuh gue harus buru-buru ke pool travel. I'll catch the earliest shuttle." Tapi masalah tidak berhenti di situ bestie... Kalau di kota asal gue, jam berapapun mau jalan gue tinggal pesen ojek online - nggak peduli siang/malam/pagi buta sekalipun. Tapi di Sumbawa??????
Di Sumbawa itu aplikasi transportasi online memang sudah masuk, tapi drivernya nggak banyak. Kalau driver ojek online masih bisa dihitung jari, tapi kalau taksi online... Duh selama tiga hari disana nihil gue bisa dapat driver dari aplikasi taksi online. Pada Sabtu pagi gue memutuskan untuk mencari bantuan ke staf hotel tempat gue tinggal selama tiga hari di Sumbawa. If you're questioning "kenapa nggak minta tolong temen?". I was overwhelmed. Cape. Di waktu itu gue bareng bapak staf hotel muter-muter Sumbawa untuk nyamperin beberapa pool travel. Dari sekian banyak pool travel, belum ada yang buka - ya iyalah, habis subuh lu ngarepin apaaa?. Hingga akhirnya si bapak bilang ke gue, "Mba siap-siap aja di hotel. Siapin barang-barangnya, nanti saya cariin yah travelnya.". Sekitar setengah jam setelah itu, bapak staf hotel kembali dan katanya travelnya sudah on the way jemput gue. Kayaknya kemudahan dan pertolongan ini lagi-lagi imbas dari kebaikan bapak ibu selama ini hiks terharu. And the solo travelling mission was hit me hard again. "I am ready to explore!" batinku. Rasanya nggak ada yang terlalu spesial dari perjalanan Sumbawa-Lombok kali ini kecuali gue bisa videocall ibu dari atas kapal. Gue tunjukin bagaimana suasana di ferry, gimana pemandangannya dan sebagainya.
Kayak gini sih kurang lebih pemandangan di atas laut selama gue nyebrang:


Sisanya... Gue lebih banyak tidur di mobil, karena yaa capek bund dari pagi buta gue udah kesana-kemari.


Sampai Mataram gue langsung menuju hotel. Gue bersih-bersih badan, sholat dan rebahan kilat.
Selanjutnya gue menunggu mas-mas persewaan motor buat nyamperin. Jadi selama kurang dari sehari gue di Mataram sendirian itu gue nyewa motor. Sewa motor buat gue jadi alternatif transportasi yang paling reasonable. Karena gue cuma sendirian dan ga butuh mobilitas yang jauh banget, dan juga pakai motor bakal lebih murah secara bensin sampai parkir. Motor itu gue pakai buat keliling-keliling kota Mataram. Menikmati suasana tengah kota dari suatu tempat yang baru pertama kali dituju bagi gue sangatlah penting. Menurut gue, dengan begitu gue jadi tahu budaya dan kebiasaan-kebiasaan warga masyarakatnya. Dan nggak ketinggalan, bisa nyicip kuliner lokal! Waktu sendirian itu gue gunakan untuk menikmati suasana masyarakat Mataram. Udaranya, terik mataharinya, tanah dan lautnya, yang sudah gue nantikan beberapa tahun terakhir.



This kind of my contemplating journey though. Nggak pernah terpikir sebelumnya untuk bisa menginjakkan kaki di Lombok pada bulan Oktober tahun 2022. Sebagai orang yang sering kali menuliskan rencana sejak jauh-jauh hari, sungguh perjalanan ini jauh dari perkiraan. I know you know what I mean. Sate Rembiga, Ayam Taliwang, Pelecing Kangkung, akhirnya gue cicipin th kuliner-kuliner langsung di tanah khasnya. Berbekal referensi dari temen dan juga ulasan google, gue pun muterin kota Mataram sendirian.


This is way better for me, padahal di waktu yang sama temen-temen gue lagi ke Pulau Kenawa yang super keren di Sumbawa. But I rather chose to contemplate, to live my life all alone, here and after. -----bersambung-----

Food as My Refreshing Mood

Four main dishes, but made from about 5 kinds of vegetables, freshwater fish and lots of spices and one bowl of rice surely.
Main course menu which were commonly served as three times daily meal at Lombok.
Urap-Urap, pelecing grilled fish, Ikan Asam Manis , some local recipes. Me myself, tends to add an extra sambal (chilly sauce) at every food, especially when I need mood booster.
Can’t find specific brand of dark chocolate as my most favorite mood booster and starts to ignore many list of chocolate ice cream.
Then, wishing a dark chocolate sent to me from somebody outside Lombok? Should I made it as my monthly resolution? :p :D
