Chapter 1 pg 01 

I did it, I started a comic. It will be a story revolving around what happens up until ‘message received’, mostly from Peridots POV.

PSA: It will also contain some Lapidot.

Will add a cover later on and I am also not sure about the title. Maybe I will call it ‘Message sent’. What do you guys think? I hope I am able to really keep doing it.

A silent thanks to every artist that inspired me to get up and draw again.

Im still into fnaf (now more so than ever >v<) and likewise Undertale, pokemon, idk, but yeah! Fort Peric

A self-ship fluff fic with Peridot

Tired and exhausted, I dragged myself into the house and saw Peridot on the couch looking at her tablet. Upon seeing me she smiled.

“How was work?” Peridot asked.

I sat on the couch and face planted into Peridot’s chest. The only response I gave was a long groan.

Peridot hugged me and stroked my hair. “Long day I’m guessing?”

I nodded. “And still one more day of work before Christmas weekend, and I only get one extra day off.”

“If you prefer staying home over the weekend Lapis and I will understand.”

I then remembered we were planning to go to Beach City for a holiday gathering. While most people get excited for holiday gatherings with family and friends, I’ve had mixed feelings about it for several years. Maybe it’s seasonal depression, my social anxiety, laziness, or a combination. 

“I’ll see how I feel on Christmas morning,” I replied with a sigh.

“Sounds good,” Peridot said and kissed me on the forehead. “So, is it snuggle time?”

“Yeah, but I’d like to do something a little different.”

“Oh? Like what?” Peridot asked curiously. 

I thought about it and wasn’t sure. I lifted my head and looked around the living room trying to think of an idea. As I laid back on the couch cushion a light bulb went off in my mind.

“Want to make a pillow fort and snuggle in it?” I asked.

Peridot giggled. “That sounds fun!”

We gathered every cushion, pillow, and blanket we could find and placed them on the couch. 

“How much detailed design do you want to put into this fort? I could make blueprints, or if you want to keep it simple that’s fine too,” Peridot said.

“We can put a little bit of detail into it. Something more than just a box of pillows and cushions.”

Peridot nodded and we set to work. She grabbed some chairs so we could drape an entrance into the fort with blankets and a couch cushion as a door for the entrance. The couch would be used as the main part of the fort with pillows surrounding it. 

“This kind of reminds me of making a city out of boxes as a kid,” I commented.

“How do you make a city out of boxes?” Peridot asked curiously.

“A lot of imagination, some boxes of course, plus toy cars, trains, and planes, and Legos if I wanted to build something with detail. I didn’t realize back then that I already had an interest in how cities and their transportation systems function, and now here I am and it’s my career.”

“It’s interesting how much humans change, but some characteristics of individuals remain the same for decades or even their whole life,” Peridot commented.

“Hm, I never thought about it that way, but you’re right.”

“If you’re okay with it, I may make a meep morp based on that.”

“Based on the box city, or the change of humans?” I asked.

“Mostly the former, but also the latter,” Peridot replied.

“I’d love it! I’d also be happy to assist if you need it.”

“I’ll take you up on that,” Peridot said.

As we continued working on the fort I looked at the fireplace and another idea came to my mind. 

“Do we have enough pillows and blankets to make a short tunnel to the fireplace? Then if we get chilly we can warm up in front of the fireplace without getting out of the fort.”

“Good idea! Yes, we should have enough for that.”

With a tunnel to the fireplace added our pillow fort looked completed. 

“What should we name it?” I asked.

“The fort?”

“Yeah! Every fort has a name, and while this isn’t a complex fort it’s still unique.”

Peridot thought for a moment. “Well since we made it together, how about combining our names?”

“Fort Peric?”

“Perfect!” Peridot said excitedly.

I smiled. “Alrighty, Fort Peric it is then.”

“Now to use it,” Peridot said and took my hand.

We moved the couch cushion and crawled inside the entrance. While the floor is carpet, we put a blanket on top for extra softness. 

Peridot turned to me and patted a spot next to her. As I crawled to her I looked at her beautiful face and soft smile. The long work day and cold trip home were completely forgotten at this point as we kissed. 

“Want to know a fun fact, Peridot?” I asked.

“What’s that?”

“I’m in love with you.”

Peridot snorted and giggled. “Thank you for the reminder. Did you know I’m in love with you?”

I gasped sarcastically. “I had no idea!”

We both laughed together and resumed smooching. 

“Did we make enough room for Lapis?” I asked.

“Yes. I’m not sure if she’ll be home by the time you typically go to sleep, but we’ll keep this fort in place so all three of us can enjoy it together.”

Just the word “sleep” made me yawn.

“Perhaps your sleep will be earlier than scheduled tonight,” Peridot said.

“Quite possible. It’s so comfy in here that I may just fall asleep in your arms, if that’s okay with you.”

Peridot wrapped her arms around me and held me. “Of course.”

As I rested my head on her chest I struggled to keep my eyes open. In my half awake state I felt Peridot kiss me on the forehead.

“Happy holidays, Eric,” Peridot whispered.

Not long after I was asleep Peridot also fell asleep while still holding me. 

Around midnight Lapis came home and quietly tiptoed in the house. Perplexed by the mountain of pillows and blankets held up by the couch and chairs, she examined it closely and could hear faint snoring inside it. After a little bit of trying to figure out how to get in, Lapis crawled inside and smiled when she saw Peridot and I snuggled together. Gently she laid by our side.

I awoke around five in the morning with Lapis and Peridot still sleeping. I was a little tired, but mostly well-rested and ready to take on one more day of work before Christmas weekend. Although I still wasn’t sure if I would go to Beach City on Christmas Day, I did feel better about the chances of wanting to go. After a forehead kiss for Lapis and Peridot I slowly crawled out of the fort and began my day.
