thank you so much for reading angels! this season is such a wonderful time of year because of the ideas and ethos surrounding it; one of giving. this winter should be about our loved ones and those in need. whether you do something as simple as donating old clothes to charity or making christmas cards for the homeless, i would encourage everyone (myself included) to make it their mission to give back in at least one way. remember - angels are kind and generous inside and out! as we plan our gifts or think about shopping and the fun things to come let’s all take a moment to reflect on how we can give back.

✧.* Freelancer is such a loser but they’re so unaware of how loser-y they are that they’ve gone full circle and are cool as shit

✧.* Sam is tatted as shit but none of them show since he’s always in a long sleeve flannel. Whenever people see the tattoos it comes as quite a shock but he suits them so well.

✧.* Morgan barely ever reads the news but he always picks up a paper because he loves the puzzles and crosswords

✧.* Angel has so so many accessories for their outfits and after they moved in with David he built them a personalised hidden cupboard to store them in for an anniversary present

✧.* Gavin has a pierced tail and horns with little heart jewellery in them. He just walked past a piercing shop one day and was intrigued since they don’t do that in Aria

✧.* Sweetheart is so good at style. They love going thrifting and finding pieces for all of their friends, especially waistcoats and jewellery.

✧.* Baby hates wearing chunky bracelets/necklaces now, they don’t like the feeling of the weight but can’t pin-point why

✧.* Asher went to a class to learn how to braid babes hair for them. Babe dyes his for him, no lessons just winging it but it turns out 10/10.

✧.* Lovely wears contact lenses a lot as part of their style, they have contacts of their original eye colour but haven’t been able to bring themselves to put them in.

✧.* Morgan has a ‘Sam’s flannel’ sized collection of plaid pj pants. He was wearing them when his listener turned up to his house.

✧.* William has never moved on from the partner he had before he was turned. He’s forgotten what they sound like.

lucifer finds it incredibly difficult to find any common ground with the sinners that inhabit his kingdom. partially because he doesn’t see much point in making an effort with them because he views most as lost causes (and a reminder of his greatest failure), and partially because he just doesn’t have anything in common with them — after all, what could the king of hell, a ten thousand year old fallen angel, possibly have to talk about with a human that lived in sin and died after maybe a couple of decades on earth?

but after reconciling with his daughter and agreeing to help out with the hotel where he can, lucifer does start to try and make an effort with the residents of the hotel — it’s almost always a terribly awkward affair, but it’s the thought that counts, right?

the first conversation you had with him was, as such, a bit stilted and terribly brief — seeming both far too short and like it was dragging on far too much at the same time — but one random off handed mention of lucifer’s rubber duck collection (courtesy of charlie) acted as the perfect segue into a more engaging and lively chat as well as the beginning of a very unexpected friendship

the energy of the conversation increases, the mood shifts from painfully awkward and distant and polite to excited and familiar (and still a little bit awkward but negligibly so), and before you know it you’re walking the prince of pride up to your hotel room to show him your growing collection of rubber ducks

you two talk for hours about everything from the designs to the texture to the materials used to make them to the names you’ve given them before lucifer is called away to deal with some business outside of the hotel — in the process earning his personal phone number and a promise to get to see the substantial collection of his own he has back at home when he gets the chance

and while that will take some time to get around to — what with his busy schedule, your responsibilities in the hotel, and everything else — the two of you do remain in contact pretty consistently and talk about plenty of things related to your shared interest and even unrelated to it (like how charlie is doing, what the other rings are like, and so on)

whenever he starts working on a new duck he’ll send you pictures and videos of the creation process, and if you seem especially fond of anything he’s made then he’ll be more than happy to gift them to you because he trusts they’ll ‘be in good hands’ with you

he’ll send you pictures of his favourite older creations, or if he has the chance to stop by the hotel he may just bring some along to show to you in person

and when your birthday comes around he’ll surprise you with a small rubber duck made in your image and set up with a bunch of fun features that you seemed interested in his other creations

it’s sweet and charming and personalised enough that if you’re a particularly emotional person you may just end up crying — but above all else these things are all tokens of lucifer’s friendship, small ways that he shows you he cares about you even when he gets too much in his own head to actually say as much

after all, you’re the first actual friend he’s had in a while and that means far more to him than you may ever realise
