Yes, it was me. I was mostly active on my old account, victoriasugden ( @victoriasugden1 ) I privtated the url victoriasugden, than I moved over here old url peterbeale and then when I left the fandom I changed it to my current url. I didn't really tell anyone apart from a hand full of people I talked to a lot that I was leaving because I didn't think people would care. I'm not special.

I left when Rebecca took Seb and left with Ross - because I thought it was ridiculous to put the boys through all that and then take Seb away after Aaron had come to terms with it. Like what was the point?

Also I've been watching soap since I was a kid - I could see the writing on the wall, the new producer at the time who took over for Iain MacLeod clearly didn't like robron, or at the very least Robert. Sorry can't remember her name. I knew it was going to go downhill from there and I was right so I was very happy I got off that train before it went off the cliff so to speak. I've been casual watching since Ryan left. Can't say I've been too impressed, by far my favourite addition has been Caleb, and that's mostly because I've had a crush on William Ash since I was like 10.

Re Seb. I was never thrilled with the sl - I just tried to make do with what we were given. They got Rebecca pregnant, they had her keep the kid - I wasn't in the writing room, so I just tried to make do. Unlike so many others, when I no longer was willing to do that, instead of kicking off I just quietly left the fandom. And I stand with the like 0.1% of the fandom that shipped Katie/Robert.

It's very funny, cause a couple of days ago I found a copy of TV NOW floating in my room from 2017, it's the Robron wedding edition. Talk about a blast from the past! I really do miss the fandom, not the drama though - but the community. I especially miss how fun it was to live blog! I haven't really joined another fandom since then, I just float around tumblr, giving my opinion and what not.

1. What fic did you work on the most this year?

I'm not entirely sure; I unfortunately did not spend as much time as I'd like dedicated to fic writing; but I think it's probably either the Vaella au, my Glee ficlet, or my untitled Tortall fic.

2. Did you have any fic writing goals? Did you meet them?

I didn't set any resolution-type goals this year. The only thing I wanted to try and get done was one fic update before Christmas which I have not yet done although I guess there's still time. Realistically, I would still be happy if I managed one before the end of the year.

6. Do you have a favourite fic you wrote?

Like a favorite fic ever? Uhh, I think this one, Lies and Precious Things. It comes in at a little under 600 words and I think it packs a lot of emotion into that while not drowning in exposition. Idk, I just like it.

8. Favourite line of dialogue this year?

From the Glee ficlet:

“I’m Puck.” Noah says. “It’s on account of my last name.” And from then on he is Puck everywhere to everyone but Mom and Sadie and the Garcia Sandovals and the occasional stickler teacher.

Moreso for the way I found to explain how Puck ended up being called that instead of his first name than the literal dialogue itself.

12. Did you receive any advice that resonated to you this year?

It wasn't given to me specifically but it's a piece of advice the author Maggie Stiefvater shared that had been given to her about managing how much you can do on a given day.

23. Were there any ideas you wanted to work on this year but you didn’t?

Absolutely yeah! So many. I get ideas in excess of both my time and ability to sit down and work on them. Particularly, I would say I would have liked to have gotten to work on some of my Bonnie Bennett-centric fic ideas. There's always next year.

26. Do you have a goal for next year? If so, what is it?

I think I want to try tracking how many words I'm writing! I'm hoping to either surprise myself with how much I'm writing or motivate myself to write more.

27. What are your hopes and/or desires for yourself and for other fic writers in the next year?

Other than well wishes for other fic writers, hoping you feel really inspired and have tons of time to write, I don't really feel like it's my place to dictate what other people do with their time? I mean yes there are totally fics by others I would love to see continue but 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I hope I'm really productive next year! Basic, I know.

39. What fics or authors would you recommend for others to discover and read in the next year?

Oh, that's a great question. I have scattered fic recommendations across this blog and my main and this year, I've begun attempting to do not every Friday but consistently a #fic back friday fic recommendation. I think I would like to try for next year to manage at least one fic recommendation a month (not necessarily an older fic), which I think is quite doable and would finish the year out with 12.

Of course it depends on what one looks for in a fic and what fandoms but I love pretty much everything devilinthedetails and deweydecibelsystem have written across various fandoms; nasimwrites is great for thoughtful and worldbuilding Narnia work, especially centered around Aravis/Calormen; I love rain-sleet-snow's Tortall twelfth night au series; peterbeale also writes across a number of fandoms, I especially like their Teen Wolf and TVDU works; and PanBoleyn is great for ASoIaF and The Magicians.

40. What advice would you have for people who might want to try writing or sharing their writing next year?

For writing&sharing fic for the first time, I think you have to be really passionate about both the fandom and the fic you're writing. I've never been good at outlining myself but that's probably useful.

I think you also need to be ready to not get any reception to your fic. I know that sucks to hear and I do think there's an audience for every fic out there but that doesn't mean it'll happen right away.

Don't forget to proofread/spellcheck and tell people you wrote a fic! Include a link!

41. Any regrets?

Hmmm, this is not unique to this year or fic writing but I do have a bad habit of coming across a resource or advice or something of that sort, saying to myself oh that sounds like a good advice, and then essentially filing it away and not doing anything with it.

I'm not sure if there's writing advice out there that works for me but since I'm not writing as much as I would like, I feel it'd be worthwhile to try some out.

Enzo's amusement only grows as Stefan seems to relax his hand. It’s still lodged inside of Enzo’s chest, however, and Damon can’t relax because all it would take is one accidental slip. He looks at Stefan, his eyes wide and silently pleading with him. The anger woven into his features lessen, and there’s a shift in his expression. Hesitation, but not in the doubtful, “should I kill him?” kind of way. But more in the “should I really listen to you?” way. Damon's stomach drops and he shakes his head. "Don't kill him," he says slowly. He catches the movement of Enzo flicking his lighter closed, extinguishing the flame. "You let him go and we'll leave Mystic Falls tonight. I can fix this, Stefan. Please. Let him go."

Enzo freezes, taking in the sight of Damon in the doorway. His eyes immediately seek out the source of the blood; a moderately-sized hole has been ripped into his shirt, revealing the few bleeding wounds on his chest. The distinct sign of someone who's been unsuccessfully staked in the last hour. It takes him a moment to decide on what he does next. He's torn between shutting the door in his face and going back upstairs to give sleep another go, or stepping outside to help him.

He stands up abruptly, his glass cracking in his hand. Stefan just barely catches a glimpse, but Damon turns his back on him and moves over to the table to set it down. He doesn't say anything right away, breathing slowly. His eyes catch the ring still in his hand. There's another tug of guilt and it's suffocating, trying to smother him. Like a fire. Sliding the ring back onto his finger, he tries to pull back a sliver of composure. His heart's still racing like it's gained his own heightened abilities as he swaps out the glass for a new one, pouring himself another drink. He doesn't acknowledge the cut on his hand, shaking the shard of glass off. "You're not handling this well, are you?" Stefan asks. "Careful, Stef, you almost sound concerned about me," Damon says, ignoring the question without even a glance back at him, taking a drink. "If you just got fifty years worth of memories and suppressed emotions back in one go, then yeah. I'm concerned."

"Oh, absolutely," Damon agrees, nodding as he keeps his own expression serious and Enzo continues forward. "It really seems like one of those things we should probably talk about, work it all out through verbal communication. Lots and lots of verbal communication." Enzo hums as he takes that last little step forward, bringing them close enough that Damon can feel the unusual warmth — for a vampire, at least — from his skin. It feels strange to have him so close, and yet, completely normal. It always felt like he was right beside him in that cell, rather than separated by two feet of brick and stone. Now he can at least see him; the tiny flecks of what looks like gold inserted between the almost innocent brown that a part of his mind, for a split second, replaces with red, and dark veins skittering up underneath his skin. "Yeah, talking about it sounds like a good idea," Enzo says, smirking back at him as he dips his head.

First up, one of my all time favorites. Correcting a moment in canon that needed to be Bigger. And with so much depth and so many layers. This fic is like The Sciles fic to me.

Only, neither of them are too sure if it's actually going to work. Or if they're even still going to be acting by the time it's all over.

This is just so sweet and I love how supportive and funny scott and stiles both are here.

I don't think I could rec this fic enough. It has Scott and Stiles both dealing with (and not dealing) with their trauma and it's so insanely good. I think it really hits that exploration of depth for both characters you are looking for.

Heyyy everyone! So, I know its been a long while since I've posted, I decided to take a few weeks off for me, I was struggling to keep up with episodes and writing a blog whilst also working a full time job as well as trying to find a new house with my partner - it's been a stressful couple of weeks. Also I feel like I haven't been able to enjoy the episodes as much as I'm constantly making notes to make sure I don't miss anything in my blog posts, but over the last few weeks I've been able to binge watch all the episodes I have missed.

I have to acknowledge the fantastic acting skills from Stevie Basaula who plays Isaac Baptise, watching him play the role of someone with schizophrenia has been absolutely stunning. I always thought that Isaac going off his medication was going to cause him to go on a downward spiral, it seems that he has come completely obsessed with the murder of his brother Paul, and is eager to prove that Ruby has some hidden agenda regarding his death. It's been really fascinating watching Isaac become gripped with this theory he's put together in his mind. I can't applaud Stevie enough for his mind-blowing performance!  

To cover a few minor points of the recent episodes I have seen:-

Rainie and Stuart have finally chosen Bernie to be their surrogate

Jags ended up being murdered in prison

Suki blamed Vinny, to which Vinny then blamed himself and almost drank himself into oblivion

Seeking comfort, Vinny then ended up sleeping with Dotty, much to her regret

Dana found out the truth about Bobby's real identity and is left heartbroken

After some wise words from Peter, she decides to give Bobby a second chance

Phil and Kat have opened their new business together

After some wise words from Kat and Patrick, Denise allowed Phil to spend more time with Raymond

However he betrayed her trust by informing the young child that he was in fact his real Dad

Ben received some devastating news from Pam Coker

Overall it's been a dramatic and couple of weeks! Anyway the main reason I've wanted to write this post is that some exciting news was announced yesterday. EastEnders have cast Kate Robbins as the role of Jen Glover. The storyline regarding this new characters seems to be that she is introduced to the Square by Terry (Rocky) to suspend Whitney into the career of pop superstardom. This is quite an interesting turn for Whitney, I'm intrigued to see how all this will unravel. What will it mean for Whitney? Will she be successful or could this be another horrendous storyline which will see her get into some form of trouble? Who knows?!

What are your thoughts on this upcoming storyline? Please feel free to let me know your thoughts! Oh that reminds me, regarding Janine's return, it seems that EastEnders will be putting together a huge fire stunt to welcome the power bitch back to the Square! What or who will cause the fire? Where will it be taking place? Could some of our beloved characters be seriously hurt? I for one am incredibly excited to see this all kick off! 

Even though this has been a nice blog post, I will be away for a week now as I'm going away with my partner for my birthday, when I'm back I'll try my absolute best to get back to blogging. Not an ask more of a headcanon but what do Vic and Seb do on their days out together when she's babysitting him?

It started out as just trips to the big play centre in Hotten where Seb could be entertained by the bright colours and sounds (and Vic could get a reasonably decent cup of tea) and a quick trip round the shops.

Now that Seb is taking in more of the world around him she makes proper plans, scouring the internet for things they can do. One day they go on a steam train ride, and another time she takes him back to the zoo. 

On the days it’s raining or too cold she sits Seb in his highchair and talks to him while she bakes. She’s determined he’ll grow up wanting to learn, the way she and Robert did.

the exact spoiler was about aaron talking to chas and paddy about the date of the wedding/ being worried for robert and wanting him to have something happy, so i’m just assuming it was cut bc it wouldn’t make any sense now

although he worded it really badly, so it’s difficult to tell

oh yeah i’m absolutely fine. but apparently someone jumped/fell off a balcony of the top floor of the nursing home down the street. That’s what all the police and ambulances were for. Half the neighbourhood went down there to see what happened and is now telling the other half about it and the story changes from jumped to fell and back every time someone repeats it.
