Truly a magical night, with absolutely amazing energy. As others have said, Emilie's "Wishing..." might be the best I've ever seen.

And to the guy outside the theatre with the sign asking for an extra Playbill, who I graciously gave my extra to, only to then notice him tuck it into his jacket and continue to stand there gathering more of the limited edition Playbills: the Opera Ghost is not pleased...

Hey, phamily, calm down! Just bc phantom is closing on Broadway doesn't mean it won't be played ever again! You can still see touring productions and other revivals. Les Mis closed on Broadway years ago and I've seen it 2x since! I've seen Phantom on Broadway 3x and on tour 5x and I can tell you, they are the same production with only slight differences based on the staging specs for the theatre they are using. This isn't the end for ALW's angst! You will be able to see it ... just not at the Majestic Theatre, anymore. . Times change and I'm hoping Broadway will still be doing its thing in years to come! Theatre is struggling yo get butts in seats and this is the result of that. The best way to support theatre by going to see it!! . All my love to the cast and crew, you will rise again! I was in the audience Friday the day they announced the closing, sad day for me as it would be my last time seeing the show in my favourite location. but this happened, just before the end, just before Raoul and Christine rowed off in the boat, there was a loud crash, the show went on as it only had a few minutes untill the end, but then the curtain call took forever to get going, and when the red curtain went up, this black curtain (which I never saw before) was there and everyone had to squeeze infront it to bow. It is a curtain used during intermission behind the red house curtain to stop the onstage lights from shining through that red curtain, which is a light gauze. I am not sure what happened, whatever it was, they would not let anyone back onstage out of caution.

So, only what I can describe as a New York moment happened when some lovely folks from the @phantomopera team approached @nyfiddler and me asking if we’ve seen the show before. Suddenly they showed us tickets for orchestra center and said we should go enjoy the show from these seats. I cannot describe how magical that felt. Phantom is such a special show; if it hadn’t been for Phantom I would never have discovered my dream and my career. I cannot thank the Phantom team enough for upgrading our view and making an already magical night more magical. Also, the show is amazing. It’s always been amazing but there is pure pixie dust in the air and you can feel it. Phantom, Phantom, Phantom…How can I even begin to express my love for this show? This was the first show I ever saw in New York, and it made me fall in love with musical theatre and New York City. Because of this show, I’ve made so many friends who share their love for this music and story. This was the heart of the Great White Way, and I am truly heartbroken that it’s closing in February.
