#phoebe vs. max: the sequel

there’s no way phoebe and max didn’t view their superhero/villain rapport in 301 (phoebe vs. max: the sequel) as some kind of weird role play.

favourite max thunderman moments

1. in the episode weekend guest where he does experiments on the venus fly trap that Phoebe brings home from school to look after for a couple of days the experiment goes wrong and the plant keeps growing and growing. he and billy have to distract the plant disguised as flowers so that nora and phoebe can give the plant the antidote was hilarious because they looked absolutely ridiculous.

i love when the show highlights how smart he is such as creating a successful antidote to get trevor the venus fly trap back to his original size.

all the cool gadgets that he has scattered across his lair.

2.  any time when max’s smarts are shown.

3. he may not always act like it be you can tell that he really loves his siblings.

4 how he loves and cares for dr colosso even though he’s suppose to be a ‘supervillian’ which we know is just a cover up for how he feels about being overshadowed by Phoebe and feels a need to prove himself.

5. even though he felt overshadowed by his twin sister he wouldn’t take her powers away even though dark mayhem asked him to and it cost him the chance to join the villain league. 

6. whenever his family is in danger from the villain’s league he will do anything to help his loved ones.

7.how he refers collosso as his best friend and they get into all kinds of mischief together.

8. when max accidentally froze mrs wrong at their birthday party and him and phoebe end up having to rescue her from a dojo class.

tagging some people that i follow that love max thunderman as much as i do. there are so many favourite moments of mine that i can not remeber them all as it’s been awhile since i have re-watched the thundermans.

When Max was asked by the interviewer about who was his best influence...that was kind of an interesting scene.

Because he said all thess nice and personal things and in the very last second you see a change on his face and then he decides to go with “I wanna thank myself.”

So here’s the thing:

- If Max would have thanked Colosso that would have been absolutely okay, because although he was his evil influence, he also was the one always there to talk to him, to build up his self confidence etc. And Phoebe wasn’t, she just wasn’t always there for him. At some point in early season 3 she actually made it worse And she alone wouldn’t have managed to make Max change his ways.Maybe in that moment when he wanted to say her name, that came to his mind.

- Phoebe shouldn’t be so upset about it, because she never NEVER admits that he helped her in any way. The other way around she expects it. An apology, a praising. Still, I understand her first reaction.

- What she doesn’t see is that if she claims to be the major influence in her twin’s life, that makes her very responsible for him. For his low self esteem, insecurity and other personal issues. I didn’t want to bring this up again, but if Max could forgive her for what happened in the season 3 finale, if he can still trust her, she should show a little more trust in him too.

-Max is not bad gadgets, he knows what he is doing. Seriously, Phoebe? Better risk your powers and ...mind? instead of risking the prank?

-What’s kinda sad is that she took Mayhem’s powers even before they arrived there, because she was so sure Max would fail anyway. If that wouldn’T have been the case, she would have just taken the orb.

-Phoebe doesn’t seem to realize that it isn’t nice to always bring the mistakes Max made in the past up again (what if he would start doing that too, mhm?), because no one would like to be constanly reminded of his own failures. I’m glad he explained that to her in the end.

Max said in this ep. that his evil phase is embarassing to him and that he is a hero now.

Phoebe keeps repeating she always had to clean up the mess he made.

But Max did heroic things before wearing the cape.

And bringing him down, doesn’t make her look better.

Like in Phoebe vs. Max the Sequel, I wanna ask, if she triggers her own brother that way, can she really later consider herself the hero of the day?

I  think Phoebe’s character makes great progression in season 4 and I’m very glad about it.

But I also think this arc is going to be very, very important for her development, because after this she will hopefully realize that she should listen to her twin, that he is truly scared for her and that sometimes mistrust can start a chain of bad, evitable events.
