Yo-yo is my oc idea for Shadow Milk's little assistant. they can't speak but can communicate via cartoon sound effects! highly inspired by mimes

image bellow is all of my inspirations for them :]] the design is visually simple, but that's on purpose - they're designed to be a background helper for all of SM's grand plans.

despite their looks, Yo-yo is surprsingly clever and amazing at organizing and planning, they're happy to do all the manual preparations so that SM's shows and schemes can all go smoothly!

long ago, their icing (/hair) used to be white, but that changed when they joined SM's side

SM somehow always understands everything when they "speak" (gesticulation and cartoon sound effects), but is still unaware that they physically can't say a word. He's convinced they're just a really, really good listener.

Thinking about the genetic drift of the Texas bison herd and how they literally had FIVE animals to work with before adding in diversity decades later. Like. It was sooooo fucked. They were fading into the grass like the baseball players in field of dreams. 40% genetic loss?? And it’s also called the “Goodnight” herd? You bet. And who can we thank? Colonialism and imperialism and indigenous genocide. Sooooo busted.

You know what ELSE is busted? White bengal tigers. It’s a recessive gene mutation bred for keeps among captive tigers and they keep interbreeding them with relatives like get outttttttt of here. Shoo. Why would someone do this on purpose when if they get bred with your typical bengal and they carry the recessive gene there’s still the opportunity for a surprise white tiger in a healthy litter? Surprise! So cool! Instead many cases of unethical breeding. Poo- Poo decision and will go down in history as essentially cruel. At least with the bisons they were stuck between existence or extinction. Breeding an already endangered animal for aesthetic purposes? Bizarre and confusing and frankly just a representation of someone playing god to mend their fragile ego. Eat rocks.
