Día 3. Enmárcalo
Hoy no tengo inspiración.
Me hizo sentir peor. No quiero dar pena.

Research Classroom Research, Reading Control Workshop.
Explain briefly what classroom-centered research vs research that concentrates on the inputs of the classroom is.
Classroom-centered research is a discipline that tries to investigate what happens inside the classroom. This type of research is different from research that concentrates on the inputs of the classroom, which are the syllabi, the teaching materials, multimedia resources, etcetera, or the outputs of the classroom, which refers to the production and achievements that are made by learners.
2. Explain the claim: The development of ‘virtual’ classrooms, the notion of the classroom as a place where people gather together has come under challenge.
Talking about the concept of the classroom is not the same as many years ago. Nowadays, due to technological changes and innovations, the classroom is not only a physical space where some people gather together and the process of learning and teaching occurs. Now there are different kinds of classrooms, physical and digital. An example of these new forms of classrooms are platforms like Google Meet, Zoom, digital courses like Platzi or Open English, etcetera. Those new concepts of classrooms lead us to the conclusion that as technologies are changing and society as well, the concept of the classroom is reshaping itself.
3. How was research defined?
Research was defined as a systematic process of inquiry consisting of some key elements/steps/components: 1. A question, problem or hypothesis, 2. Data, 3. Analysis and interpretation.
4. Mention some of the components of research: 1. A question, problem or hypothesis 2. Data 3. Analysis and interpretation.
First, the question, problem or hypothesis are components that are key to start to identify the situation to be studied, the problem to be solved, the question to be answered, and the hypothesis to be proved. It is also important to include components such as: the rationale, which is the justification for the study to be carried out, and a theoretical framework or literature review, which provide support to the study through theory. Second, the data, which has to do with the gathered information through some instruments for data collection. And finally, the analysis and the interpretation, which consist of the interpretation and analysis of the obtained data in order to reach the findings of the study.
5. What is the meaning of ‘validity and reliability’?
The validity refers to the consistency of a measure (when results can be given under the same conditions), meanwhile, validity refers to the accuracy of a measure (when the results represent what they are supposed to measure)
6. What about ‘Publishing research’?
It means to make the results of the research public. This implies that the research that is carried out should fulfill certain criteria to be accepted.
7. Classroom research and classroom-oriented research?
The classroom research includes empirical investigations that are carried out in classrooms. On the other hand, Classroom-oriented research is the research that is executed outside the classroom.
8. What does ‘empirical investigations’ mean?
Empirical research is a concept that implies that the research must be carried out in contexts where empirical evidence, observable, direct or indirect experience and verifiable evidence are there
9. Substantive issues have to do with the ‘what’ of research, methodological issues with the ‘how’.
The substantive research seeks to identify relationships between language acquisition and variables (Example: instructional methods, teacher input, aspects of the learner behavior, etcetera). On the other hand, methodologically, there is a huge debate about issues like the merits of approaches such as: experimental versus naturalistic for data collection and analysis, among other debates.
10. Methods comparison studies?
Those studies compared different methods, teaching techniques, etcetera, with the objective of determining which ones are more or less effective. Nevertheless,it has been demonstrated that there are not better methods than others, because every single method has its advantages and disadvantages.
11. Explain briefly the equation: Input factors, interaction, and output.
The input factors, as the name indicates itself, consist of all those resources that learners receive (explanations, teachers’ talk, multimedia tools, etcetera) the output refers to the production that is made by students (language produced by them, their own compositions, etcetera). And interaction refers to the interrelationship that takes place between teachers and learners, input and output.
12. Teacher speech modifications, questions, instructions, and error correction and feedback.
Those concepts share something in common, and it is the way in which those processes should be carried out, how to correct them? how to provide feedback? how to give instructions? How to solve questions? how to speak to students who are language learners? All these questions should be carried out taking into account things like: the background of students, their language level, and also the effectiveness and the effects that error correction can have on subsequent learner output?
13. Teachers´ comprehensible talk?
Teacher talk is the activity that teachers do during a huge time of the class, TTT (Teacher Talking Time). Here, the teacher works as the input for students. An issue that can emerge from here is that teachers often tend to “overtalk”.
14. Display Vs referential questions.
The questions are tools that teachers use like icebreakers or practice activities. There are display questions, which are questions in which teachers already know the answers, and the referential questions are those ones that the teachers do not know the answers. It has been widely demonstrated that the referential questions provide better results in language production than display ones. It is important that activities that are carried out in the classroom have an appropriate level of complexity.

Día 2. Fracaso
He echado a perder relaciones, ideas, historias, personajes, oportunidades, conversaciones. ¿Tengo realmente amigos si no me importa dejarlos ir?
¿Cuántas historias tengo a medio hacer?
