I (alter) am fundamentally against being anti an identity. This is about syscourse. Anti-endo. Endogenic systems are a kind of people, not an ideology causing harm. You are anti-plural, anti a culture (and plurality has cultural markers).

Insisting on scientific evidence to practice cultural humility is dangerous, and that goes both ways; no one should be forcing you to justify your existence, and you should not be forcing anyone to justify theirs. They are not hurting us by having an experience and talking about their experience.

Being anti-endo is as being anti-plural the same way that being anti-drag is being anti-queer. Our communities overlap and intertwine because we built our spaces together. It’s bad enough refusing to tolerate a whole people based on a lack of evidence, but you are forcing a view of a culture that requires we medicalize ourselves and strive to fit a norm we did not choose. None of that is okay.

Again, there is a difference between hesitance around a group whose members have cause harm (making sure you will be safe-enough) and lashing out in your own pain or misunderstanding (regaining power in unhealthy ways). Being anti-endo is the lashing out, the telling a people you hate them and want them gone because they are not like you/cannot prove they are enough like you/others sharing their identity hurt you.

It’s okay to prefer psych circles, it’s okay to distance yourself/selves from groups you aren’t safe to be around (because of them or because of you), there are means of staying away that are not hate. Hate towards those who did not hurt you hurts them — these are people who have been hurt by a psychology that forces normalcy, an underlying ideology of the medicine we need. We don’t need to be hurting each other. Neither group has to be always wrong to acknowledge that both have our dangerous members/concepts. This is growth, this is how communities coexist.

We do not get better by attempting to dispose of an entire group. Inanna — whatever force you(&) cuss to — we need to do better.

You know, from what we saw with the inspector, Basilisks can get pretty big. Makes you wonder if Vee could get even anywhere near that size in her basilisk form. Given the last we saw of it, she was still likely growing like the rest of the Hexsquad. If so, Masha is in for some really big basilisk cuddles.

I’m excited about a plural future. I believe that plurality is a more diverse experience than the CDD community sees, and there are many versions of plurality that are not traumagenic multiplicity. I want there to be space for plurals who are traumagenic CDD systems, and acknowledging that others are plural in other ways is key to making acceptance of all of us mainstream. We’re feeling safe enough to be more openly multiple again, and I want outsiders to see us and understand that we are also here and that our existence is neutral.

Are we all aware that science doesn’t fall from trees? Science is humans striving towards understanding, typically with agreed upon rules of publish and ethics. People have to do science. We have to come up with the questions and find safe ways to answer the questions as best we can. Science is everchanging, because science is a work in progress. Not having scientific backing is not the same as science not backing a subject. It just means we haven’t asked those questions yet (or haven’t answered them safely or gone through the publishing stage yet). Ask the questions, or find someone to ask them for you. Science ✨

I'm just imagining Anne and Sasha deciding to cosplay armour from Monster Hunter for Marcy in the bedroom, and while Anne comes in in female Kirin armour, Sasha comes in in full male Gore Magala armour, complete with purple LEDs for when the lights go out.

It took so long to not only make but also to put on and then take off that any sexy mood that there was, got ruined as Marcy was stressing over the cosplay pieces not breaking and the special effects working properly.

You know, I can imagine the Collector and Domino 3 inviting Luz and Anne to a party one year and it just ends up being the Transcendetal Cha Cha for the two.

Luz is freaked out but Anne, who’s been invited a few times is all “oh right, it’s ur first time at the cosmic horror that is this party. Don’t worry and just dance to the music. The feeling of existential dread passes…eventually.”

Okay, Leilana, I gotta ask. Why all the human hate in the galaxy? Sure, it's fair to say they cheated their way into space with the Roswell incident, but surely, in a galaxy with so many other advanced races, they aren't a unique case.

For Avalon, out of curiosity, what would you say you look for in a romantic partner? If you're even interested in romance at all, that is.

The arguments I see against endogenic/ non-traumagenic systems are so similar to the arguments against programmed systems. Sometimes they match so completely I wonder if the same person wrote it twice but switched the topic. They say we are not scientifically proven, despite professionals who know we are real.

We are lucky in the RAMCOA community that at least a few people cared early enough to have resources to show, while the endogenic community is just beginning to garner interest. We are two steps away from these others on the same path and we pretend not to see them because they are not enough go like us. It would be difficult to prove either of our groups don’t exist, because we are here, but endogenics are still waiting for their validation.

I believe we’ll get there — even if brain scans show endogenics are nothing like traumagenic, we will still sit with the people whose position we once shared. Maybe they will be wrong, maybe they will be very far off from what they thought, but they are still here and still people. It is not anti-science to wait for papers to be published, or to comfort another person before we can point to reasons. I wish someone would have done that for us, so I will do it for them. We are so alike, waiting to be seen. So alike.

Plural Future as Plural Pride

Y’all, when people say “the future is plural”, they mean wider plural. They mean supporting everybody’s experience and normalizing when that experience is of being more than one inside. It includes traumagenic systems, but the place for us is the acceptance of our existence rather than the traumatization of new systems.

I want a plural future where everybody knows that we’re plural and is okay with that. I want a plural future where people are taken for their word until we have evidence against them. I want plural people to come out of the woodwork and be proud and have space in mainstream society. I do not want to hurt more people to get more traumagenic systems.

Of course it sounds like wanting to traumatize people if you only believe systems who formed from trauma, but anecdotal evidence is also evidence and no proof is not proof of nothing. It actually means being plural and being proud, and I think that’s possible even if you only see the traumagenic systems. It’s about being open and authentic as much as you’re comfortable, and letting plurals be safe as themselves. There will always be plural systems, even if they are only traumagenic, and we also deserve to be seen and thrive with our own plural presentations.

(Not everybody with a CDD is multiple, not every multiple is a plural. It’s okay if you don’t want to participate in this movement or don’t fit into it, but it’s not okay to lash out because some of us do want to have pride in our plural identity. Plurality is an identity label, even if multiplicity and CDDs are not.)

“The future is plural” is an offshoot of Mad Pride, which also does not work for everybody with a diagnosable psychiatric condition. However, it does work for many people, and we are not bad or wrong for wanting a place to exist. You don’t have to participate, but please look into different communities (and the cultural contexts we’ve grown from them) before saying that our pride means we’re hurting others or ourselves — including saying we’re allowing abuse or encouraging trauma. We’re not. We’re already here, will continue to be here, and we are allowed to be happy and want recognition in social spaces.
