Lily: Well apart from Umbra, which in itself is falling apart at the seams, we don’t really have much in common anymore to talk about, do we? I understand you’re busy working, just like I’m busy trying to have a normal school life.

Lily: Yes. I do. Yes, stirring drama is fine, I’m all for that. Who doesn’t love a bit of the old drama. But calling Ben trash, Louis dull, Lorcan boring, Piers disgusting, insulting Rory with comments and nicknames regarding potatoes which by any standard is racism itself isn’t okay. That’s not drama. That’s just bullying. No, I don’t see the problem with saying lesbian angst, she’s a lesbian and she has angst….how much clearer do you want me to make it? And letting it slide? So she gets to call me all sorts of names under the sun and accuse me of being a stalker and trash talk me for no reason and I have to just let it slide?

Lily: Not really no. Not when he’s clearly taking another persons side.

James: Thank you for the reminder that my main attempt at keeping students safe is ultimately failing. That is /definitely/ what I need right now. Being an auror is a little different to studying Charms, Lil.

James: It's not bullying. It's stupid insults, and stupid drama. They pick on /everyone/ Lil, and starting a fight with one of them won't stop anything. Compared to everything else, it's a small problem to deal with.

James: Godric. You can't exactly call someone out for that, Lily. Whatever she's dealing with, it's not yours to comment on. Least of all with something as degrading as that. You're acting like it's some problem she can get over straight away, that it's just some issue no one else should care about. It's a big deal for her, - and what, you think labelling it as 'lesbian angst' can't be considered offensive?

James: She came out publicly because of that. Which is a hard thing to do, and something you shouldn't have brought up in the first place.

James: Yes. Let it slide. Pick your fights, Lily. People are going to say worse things, and words like that don't matter. You know who you are, and that's what you should care about.

James: Being logical and taking sides are two entirely different things. You should learn to differentiate them before you make an enemy of the wrong person.
