Coming up with an au when I didn't even figured out the whole story!? Whaaaaat!?!?

My pmd ocs have like... "Two" stories, don't finished yet but with a solid base, and my brain just hitted me with an idea, I want to ramble about it so bad but you all wouldn't know what the heck is going on since there are very few stuff I showed off about my guys, and a bunch of characters I didn't introduced yet.

So- no I won't shut up!!! Hear me out! Or keep scrooling, whatever!!!

This AU is settled in the "second" story, when there are my guys (the first story is a prequel focusing in one of them btw), and is a tab bit more darker than the original thing, the original thing is already kinda dark at some parts, it was unintentional, I swear, but going back on track...

There's not a clear point of start, Token and Hānzo are still the protags, and also the main focus on this AU, but mostly Hānzo, I think I've mentioned them being best friends... Well... In this AU things goes wrong...

To explain Hanzō and Token's dynamic in this AU you may take Soren and Kludd's from Guardians of Ga'hoole as a example, in the original story Token was already too much of a dreamer for Hānzo's liking, but learned to embrace that side of himself, but here, it doesn't happen.

Hānzo leans more to see Token as a burden, that does nothing but slowing them down from their goals, Hānzo thinks about leaving Token behind, but he was sort of a attachement towards him, he pushes him away but doesn't want Token to do stuff on his own. At first, Token do everything he can to make things right between them, but when their friendship is just falling apart in pieces, he decides it's better to part ways. Hānzo doesn't let him go.

This is probably not possible in the canon but they already did some crazy things, so... There is some sort of a... "fusion", which is only Hānzo wrapping his fabric around Token's arm, and instead of sucking his soul, he posses him.

Here comes some of my headcanons that also applies to this AU.

According to the pokedex, Golett are living clay with unknown energy and they might stop moving at some point, but they can avoid it by evolving into Golurk, or rather, increase their life span as the energy of evolution "recharges" them, there is another rumored way to recharge but it still remains in mystery.

They can only die if destroyed or if they run out of energy, they don't have a soul but the kind of energy is quite similar to be considered a ghost type. They are described as automaton but let's think that depending on circunstances they can gain sentinence, like Token.

Golett despite being a ghost type they can get possesed because of their physical body, they still have conscience but they can't control their movements, normally they can't fight back possesion but there's always a chance that some Golett develops will, again, like Token.

Depending on the Golett's will and sentinence, they might break free from the possesion, or get their conscience overpowered.

Golett aren't the only ghost type that can be possesed by another one, Golett can also "fuse" with other ghost types like: Trevenant or Rotom, there are possibily another examples with another mons that aren't ghost types but I can't remember at the moment, sorry!

As for how the rest of the gang might deal with this "Sword dude possesing his friend" thing? Believe me, a lot of things will be going on among them, some will think that Token betrayed them, others on the other hand will keep their trust in Token and think this is all Hānzo's doing and they will do everything in their power to free Token, the sad thing is that Token is also fighting back with all his might, but he can't break free, Hānzo turned out to be stronger than anyone had thought, and he too, will keep them both linked at all costs, even if that hurting his "fellows" and leaving the guild for whatever Hānzo is planning.

During all that, Token is practically in the dark, he can only quietly watch as everything goes on, Hānzo may try to make him submit to him, but Token will never stop fighting for his freedom, even if deep down he knows he might never win.

It's mostly likely that this story will not have a happy ending, sadly.

I did a couple tiny doodles of whatever characters of mine popped into my head first.

Sunnie - a pokémon mystery dungeon partner deoxys who is hyperactive and doesn't really know who they are.

Zango - I posted about him previously, he's a fusion of zeraora and heatran and he's very lazy. Usually he joins evil teams, not because he's evil, but because he's bored and it's bound to be interesting in some way.

Zonar - A fluffy spinda lad who wants to be on the team of a champion and often comedically trips and falls on his face right after talking himself up.

Shine - a shiny purrloin from PMD and also one of my main ocs. She's obsessed with shiny objects and has a bad habit of lying even when it's not necessary, though she's also practically a living lie detector.

Millie - also from PMD. He was betrayed by Shine and refuses to trust people now, though he still works to rescue people.

Rachel - another PMD character, though she's also a dimension hopper. She's severely unqualified for it unfortunately and often ends up putting suspicions on herself from making obvious lies, talking too fast and too much causing her to say things she shouldn't have, and being generally clumsy.

Pheren - a mew-like alien who is both fascinated by new, unknown worlds, but also terrified of them.

Jinn - she's a legendary species of fakemon that I'm probably going to change the name of so no point in saying it, but they're based on baku, sleep paralysis, and mares (the mythological kind). Meaning, she's a sleep paralysis demon and despite having no redeeming qualities for her being a hypocritical megalomaniac, I absolutely love her!

What’s the eye thing about in your pmd au and what Pokémon is king?

Oh hey! Yea I realized I kinda just plopped the images down and didn’t explain anything, my bad.

But, I can answers these no sweat! Lets start off easy, King in the pmd au is a fusion. He’s a Cubone/Poochyena fusion, giving him the ground/dark typing. I greatly enjoy fusions and it seemed like a good fit for him.

As for the eyes thing, whoo boy get ready to strap in for some pmd headcanon. So these eyes belong to what I call “Ferals.” (Gonna put the info on Ferals under a read more cause it’s a lot)

Ferals are the Pokemon who reside in mystery dungeons, completely non-sentient and animal-like. Hostility from ferals depends on the rank of the feral, there are four ranks total. Rank 1, Rank 2, Rank 3, and Rank 0. All ferals share some of the same attributes across the different ranks while also having some uniqueness between ranks. Such as lack of pupils in their eyes.

Rank 1 Rank 1 are the weakest ferals and often smaller than the average height. The least hostile but still will attack if provoked. Colors are sometimes lighter than average and their eyes are pure white and blank.

Rank 2 Rank 2 are slightly stronger than the average Pokemon and are slightly bigger than average. Wary of their surroundings and if they feel threatened, they will attack. Colors and markings slightly differ from average and usually have some sort of minor mutation. The eyes are colored.

Rank 3 Rank 3 are considerably larger than average and have strength to match their immense size. Extremely hostile and will attack on sight. Massive alteration to colors and markings along with major mutations as well minor ones. Eyes are either a dark gray or black.

Rank 0 Rank 0 are average sized and average strength most of the time. Behavior is similar to Rank 2 and won’t attack unless threatened. Eyes are usually pure white or a lighter color of the original pupil eye color.

Main reason why mystery dungeons are considered so dangerous is that they have the ability to turn normal, sentient Pokemon into Rank 0 Ferals; or if the Pokemon is strong enough, Rank 2 or even Rank 3. A Pokemon has to be within a mystery dungeon for a long period of time for this to start affecting them, and even then it still takes some time before they completely become feral. 

This is why guild association badges are so important, they combat the dungeons’ habit to make Pokemon feral, it also acts as an emergency exit button to teleport teams when they have concluded a job. Guild accessories, and regular accessories Pokemon wear help in determining if a Pokemon can be saved from turning into a feral before it’s too late. Ferals can’t stand having something on their body so once a Pokemon takes off their accessory from being in the mystery dungeon, they’ve become fully feral.

Another problem with the twist is that it requires knowledge of both game series. Unlike another one I wrote in the past where it was made clear right away, saying that it’s a crossover between PMD and [other franchise] would immediately spoil part of the twist. But then if someone came across the fanfic who didn’t know about the other franchise got to the twist, it wouldn’t have nearly as much impact because they don’t know who the heck this person is!

but that’s kinda what makes it fun? the twist might be already known, but if they still like the fic and the idea of PMD x (other series), then they’ll read it anyway

though i guess that is also the problem with doing a fusion/crossover, in order to understand the fanfic fully, knowing about BOTH series mentioned would help

gotta take the good with the bad lol, but as long as you’re having fun with it and enjoying it yourself, i think it’s worth it

I'd love to hear about your favorite pokemon!

OKAY so my long time favorite is Ninetales. I loved Ninetales ever since I was a little kid because I just loved graceful animals and ever since I played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team, I was in love with that graceful, mystical fox. I honestly don’t know if I still love Ninetales as much as I used to, but I still have this deep fondness of Ninetales because of how much I loved her when I was young. She’s a pretty basic-looking fox monster, isn’t she? Over the years, Gamefreak came up with so many more fox Pokemon with much more creative designs and gimmicks, but Ninetales will always be the best fox Pokemon to me. I also looove her Alolan form. I might actually like Alolan Ninetales better than Kantonian Ninetales, but I’m still not sure (at least I still don’t have a plush of Alolan Ninetales.... hmmm.).

My other long time favorite is Suicune. Another really graceful, beautiful animal. Their aesthetic is what I kind of strive to be perceived as: elegant with both a vague sense of femme and a vague sense of masc. Strong, yet dainty. I always kind of admired how the species they’re based off of is so much more vague than Raikou and Entei’s. I used to argue with people that said that they were supposed to be a wolf in YouTube comments. Because logically, they would be a leopard, since Raikou is a tiger and Entei is a lion, right? But they really don’t look like a leopard, do they? Even though logically I always knew they’re supposed to be a leopard, they always looked more like a fusion of a wolf and a horse. My two favorite animals at the time I started liking Pokemon, which is probably another reason why I took such a liking to them. They sound like what I imagine a polar bear sounds like, and that’s beautiful.

I’ve always had such a fondness for Absol that I’m surprised I never regarded him as a favorite of mine sooner, but. Absol was the first Pokemon I really sympathized with. The whole being blamed for natural disasters thing. I would wake up to reruns of the Hoenn seasons of the Pokemon anime playing on my TV and got really excited when one day it happened to be an episode starring that cool Pokemon that saved me and BulbasaurS from Articuno in PMD: Blue Rescue Team. I always knew she was a good Pokemon and I wish it was as obvious to the townspeople in that episode as it was to me. They were also the closest thing Pokemon had to a wolf at the time to me, my reasoning being that Absol is misunderstood the same way wolves are (my big thing at the time was being mad that wolves were always the bad guys in most media)! So you could imagine my confusion when I went to look up fanart and saw Absol lumped in with the cat Pokemon because of his face. I still think her anatomy is more doglike than catlike.

I went nuts over Buizel. I coveted that Buizel Pokedoll plush on PokemonCenter.com every single day probably for months until the day I actually got it from Nintendo World. I imagined myself as a Pokemon trainer with Buizel as my partner, somehow being able to take down a Ho-Oh on its own (I don’t think I really understood that Ho-Oh was a powerful legendary Pokemon at the time tbh). The weird thing is, I don’t even like water-type Pokemon, or anything to do with water powers in general. The other weird thing is that I don’t really remember actually using Buizel on my team when I played Pokemon Diamond. I assume it’s because Diamond was my first main series Pokemon game and I guess I didn’t really understand switching Pokemon from you PC and leveling them up until I got way, way later in the game. Buizel is one of those Pokemon that I kinda forget exists, but whenever I remember him my heart goes doki doki.

Between Buizel and Quilava, I’m pretty sure I loved weasels before I even knew that much about them irl. When I heard about HeartGold and SoulSIlver coming out, I knew I was choosing Cyndaquil not because of Cyndaquil (although he is really cute), not for Typhlosion, but for Quilava. I was just gaga over Quilava. He has such a simple design but man he is so adorable. The middle of the evolution lines for the starter Pokemon have always been very underrated and I always thought Quilava outshined both his pre-evolution and his evolution. Typloshion always just kinda came off to me as a generic tough guy, while Cyndaquil at least is cute in a more unique way than your typical cute Pokemon. But Quilava oozes with personality. I’m like 75-80% sure if I had a Pokemon partner it’d be him.

Turtwig. My first starter Pokemon ever. I remember seeing the starters for Sinnoh as Sinnoh was slowly being revealed on Pokemon.com - as I’d gotten into Pokemon right at the tail end of Gen 3 when RSE were already kinda obsolete and PMD first came out - and I immediately gravitated toward Turtwig. Even if I slowly learned to love the other two, Turtwing just felt the most “me”, yanno? Actually, if I were to pick which starter Pokemon was the most “me”, it’d still probably be Turtwig (if not, it’d be Cyndaquil). Something about the shape of his head and his stumpy little body and the way he sounds just appeals to me specifically, yanno? He’s cute in a way that doesn’t appeal to everyone and I always liked that about him. Piplup and Chimchar were way more popular than he was, probably because Piplup was more conventionally cute and Chimchar was cool - I had to stand up for my turty-boi because other kids made fun of him. He’s a lot more popular nowadays than he was back in 2006 when if you were a girl would wanted to be a popstar and if you were a boy you wanted to be gangsta. Or something. Idk I was never really in touch with my peers.

And of course my newest favorite is Lycanroc, specifically dusk form! I would love to be able to go back in time and tell my kid self that not only are there gonna be actual wolf Pokemon, but wolf Pokemon with blue shiny forms (she loved blue)! Shamelessly how I came up with my namesake, dusk form Lycanroc is the Pokemon I imagine I’d be if I were a Pokemon. I just generally like how all of Lycanroc’s forms are designed (even if dusk form is a recolor of midday form shhh I excuse that because I just like dusk form’s coloration much better); something about a wolf being translated into Pokemon’s art style is so cool. Another thing it did for me is give me a favorite rock-type Pokemon, because I really never liked any rock-types beforehand (probably because I’m a furry). Midnight form Lycanroc also has the same body type as Lacmac from the Rayman cartoon aaaaaand yes I bitched for someone to trade me a shiny male Rockruff for the shiny female Rockruff I wound up with when I shiny hunted Rockruff until my partner let me have it so I could name him Lacmac. Would’ve been much less a pain in the ass if non-shiny midnight Lycanroc was blue because he looks cooler in blue than in red anyway, but whatever.

Thank you for giving me an excuse to ramble about why I love the Pokemon I love! I mean, I stayed up later than I intended to typing this but I enjoyed every second of it! Even if I’m probably gonna wake up tomorrow and realize I forgot to talk about like ten other Pokemon.

Update on Many Things

Hello everyone! Sorry I know on my DA page and Twitter but I was waiting on the Zine thing to be resolved as I didn’t want to post one thing only to face a contradiction a little bit later. So now I have my response and so I can post it. Fair warning this post will be rambling all over the place maybe even touching stuff I’ve already covered anew so sorry about that and feel free to read on.

First off the Zine thing. I did not get in sadly which is both good and bad as I was something I was interested in but it frees up my focus but oh well onwards and upwards.

Before going to my project stuff I wanna ramble about and fair warning I may be all over the place.

I reduced the webcomics I follow recently as I felt I had too much.

I’ve been reading some Danny Phantom fanfiction lately, a good portion of it crossovers but meh it makes me feel like I’ve suddenly discovered the fandom.

I’m on a slight Digimon kick too courtesy of fanfiction and video game hype. I’m sort of watching Fusion currently.

Zak Storm hit the UK recently and I haven’t been able to watch yet which suck but it is what it is for now I guess.

I’ve been watching/listening to the Adventure Zone podcasts lately.

Descendants 2 looks like it’ll be interesting.

Breath of the Wild. Sadly, I’ve resigned myself to the fact it’ll be towards the end of the year before I can play which sucks but oh well.

Kingdom Hearts Union Cross is interesting I guess.

I seem to be using Discord a lot lately.

Books. I stand by what I meant when I said I like Riordan’s stuff. I’m thinking of reading Erin Hunter’s stuff again too and maybe looking at other series too.

Alright on to my projects. I got the Fragment Journeys piece done even if it wasn’t the one I originally wanted but still it’s something. I wish I could say I’d made as much progress with the one shots but… I fell flat. I can’t seem to really get them going.

In addition, recently I’ve been musing about A Miraculous Vision and Gold Stripes, the pieces I was gonna do after them. I’ve been debating about even doing them at all as they are one shots and while Gold Stripes may have had a follow up planned for it but A Miraculous Vision didn’t really have one till people said they wanted more for it but now I’m considering just not doing it so that status is… uncertain (the other one shot I was working on was a new piece altogether and doesn’t count here).

In addition, this, it comes at a time where I’ve been debating several other things, mu musings to do stuff for Flight Rising. I’m sort of worried about my ML OC project and while I may not launch their fanfic just yet I may do more art for them. And the bulk of this comes from a desire to do more art stuff.

Then on top of that there’s the nagging feeling in my mind saying I may be neglecting PMD Rescuing Reality and Possible Powers so that’s a thing too.

So really for what may be coming next at this point is random even for me. Expect anything is all I can say. I’ll be in touch as always.
