I literally lay awake at night thinking about Brin Zai Poly and Kaiju daughter you have no idea

Just MC, their two nerdy partners, their Kaiju daughter and their dog chilling in bed together.

Somehow Dog still takes up most of the bed.

(Side note I was looking up pictures of baby Kaiju’s and they’re kinda scary looking 😭 hope you all know that Ferelith is the prettiest little (she’s bigger than an elephant) princess ever to be seen on Earth and beyond.)

Can I have some Brin and Zai facts please 🥺 I love their dynamic already

Ah I’m glad! I can give you some facts, but like with Senan, they aren’t fully fleshed out as characters yet, so there won’t be loads.

100% inspired by Newt and Hermann’s old married couple relationship from the film.

Brin is in a wheelchair due to a neonatal spinal injury, it was incomplete, but they were never able to fully recover.

Zai struggles with making eye contact and uses xyr glasses as a barrier. Xe also dislikes crowds, and fidgets with their clothes and/or accessories when anxious. Brin is one of the only people that xe feels truly comfortable with, hence the attitude xe gets around them.

They’re very tactile with each other, but they don’t seem to notice. When the MC was being their usual bastard self, they mentioned it and Brin and Zai barely looked at each other for days before eventually naturally slipping back into it. The MC actually felt a little bad for once, or at least getting chewed out by Cináed made their ears feel bad.

Both scientists were very wary of the MC and their reputation when they first met them. However, apart from some silly comments (because hah humour), the MC was incredibly respectful of their work and that put them at ease somewhat.

If the MC has a science-based background, that definitely gets them brownie points.

Brin still needs some work, but Zai is definitely more open around the MC now (although they still struggle with eye contact).

Due to their work place being highly military-focused, the soldiers can sometimes get too rowdy and that made Zai uncomfortable in the first few days of being there. It didn’t take long for Brin to notice, nor did it take long for Brin to take them all down a peg. Zai would probably cite that as the moment xyr crush developed.

Brin is very protective of Zai, but like Cináed (seriously they should make a club), they can’t have Zai knowing that, so they can be a bit of a dick at times. It’s almost worth it to see Zai fire back though.

If an MC who was in the Brin & Zai poly were to pop their head into the lab and say, "Hey honey?" how would they react?

Brin would scowl at MC and tell them to stop talking nonsense, but as they turned away, you’d notice that the tips of their ears are pink.

Zai would get all excited and answer MC with something like ‘hi babe’ and then wave them inside so xe could tell you all about the project xyr working on.

Also can I ask if Zai and Brin are together pre game or if they only get together in the triad route?

No, Zai and Brin aren’t together, but they have crushes on each other at the beginning of the game and they bicker like an old married couple lol. Zai gets a crush on MC as well pretty quickly, but it takes Brin a bit longer.

However, even if MC doesn’t romance them, they will still get together!

Don’t apologise lol! I totally get that, I absolutely adored newmann’s relationship and the idea of MC (and their adopted daughter Kaiju baby, Ferelith) slotting into that dynamic was too good to pass up.

It’s funny how quickly things can change.

One minute you’re on top of the world, then the next, your world is crumbling down around you…

Five years ago, you and your drift partner had the highest success rates of any Jaeger pilots. Now, one horrific tragedy and a hasty promotion later, you’re pushing pencils thousands of miles away from the place you called home.

That is, until a Kaiju with stealth abilities like nothing that’s ever been seen before crawls out of the Breach.

Recalled back into service, you’re forced to team up with your once rival under the command of your former drift partner, and the advice of two scientists who seem more interested in the Kaiju’s than your safety. All while someone with more money than sense attempts to undermine you at every turn.

With everything seemingly against you, will you take up the mantle of hero once more or will you let the darkness plaguing your mind consume you?

Customisable MC (including name, pronouns, appearance, and identity). Personality is semi-set (MC uses humour and sarcasm as a coping method for their trauma) for a majority of the time, however there will be chances for character development and therefore more personality choices.

Pilot a Jaeger, fight Kaiju’s, and keep the world safe all while battling your own demons.

Killian Zhao [M/F] - Once a talented pilot and your former drift partner, Killian is now your formidable and highly respected commanding officer with a soft spot reserved just for you. [PROFILE].

Brin Kazlauskas [M/F/NB] - Waspish, fastidious, and someone that no one wants to be on the wrong side of, Brin is a K-Science officer with a wicked protective streak towards Zai and you . Only romanceable in a poly with Zai. [PROFILE].

Zai Oumarou [M/F/NB] - Despite a somewhat anxious disposition around those xe doesn’t know, Zai is a K-Science officer with a lot of enthusiasm and a deep curiosity towards Kaiju. Only romanceable in a poly with Brin. [PROFILE].

Ajax Nikolaou [M!NB/F!NB] - With a twisted determination to be a giant pain in your ass, Ajax is the ruthless CEO of Nikolaou Industries, a company that seeks to make the Pan Pacific Defense Corps completely redundant. [PROFILE].

Ferelith [F] - The baby Kaiju with a sweet character that was rescued by Zai, Ferelith loves cuddles, Lord of the Rings (according to Zai), and munching on Brin’s lab coat.

I just loved Hermann and Newt’s dynamic in the first film, it was so good !! Couldn’t not have something inspired by them in an IF surrounding it 👀

You and Killian watch as the two scientists startle, and near enough crash together in their haste to hide the small kaiju behind them. Completely unsuccessfully mind you. As a small kaiju was still about the size of a elephant.

Your lips twitch up in amusement at the twin expressions of guilt on Brin and Zai's faces, even as Brin tries to hide it behind a mask of stoicism. Killian, on the other hand, looks ready to strangle them both.

"Um. this is Ferelith," Zai's eyes dart around behind xyr glasses, refusing to settle on anyone in particular.

"Ferelith?" You smile, letting your head tilt to the side as you examine the strange looking creature munching on Brin's lab coat.

"Yeah, cool right?" Zai seems to calm slightly at the sight of your smile.

Killian pinches the bridge of their nose, clearly trying to breathe through their frustration. You briefly wonder if the look on the commanders face if you offer them a massage would be worth the potential death sentence?

It doesn’t take long for you to decide that, yes. It absolutely would be.

"Why did you name it Ferelith?"

"Well I wanted to call her something cool like Galadriel," Zai pauses. "You know, like from Lord of the Rings."

Brin rolls their wheelchair forward, trying to play keep-away from Ferelith’s teeth. "So, xe came up with Ferelith…which I suppose sounds elven if you have Zai’s level of intellect."

“What the heck is that supposed to mean?” Zai yelps. “Just because I didn’t graduate from MIT, that doesn’t make me any less intelligent than you!”

“You’re correct, Zai,” Brin sneers. “What makes you less intelligent is your genius idea to bring a Kaiju into my laboratory.”

“Our lab.”

"I don't know why I bother talking to you two," Killian sighs, interrupting Brin’s next comment.
