Down at the tavern and apparently it was a barbarian theme night. It always feels borderline offensive, because it’s fun that the bar is serving classic barbarian ales and spit roasted wild game. But when the patrons come in with crazy face paint and use ~*barbarian accents*~ it just feels yucky to be around.
Me though? I go the classy route. I do a full body polymorph into my favorite fictional barbarian from classic barbarian stories, Gnarvosh the Gnasher. A good excuse to look ripped and chew on bones.

The way Delyna's grandfather Llerar Mandas tells it, you'd think the dastardly Lord-Wizard snatched the maiden from her ancestral manor, polymorphed as cloud of netches or something. Please—the girl was caught in leather catsuit, sneaking into Divayth's tower, geared up as burglar would: lockpicks, two glass swords and a magical ring of Chameleon—mademoiselle's frivolous attempt at "slumming", no doubt. Lenient as Lord Fyr is towards petty thieves—Delyna was merely put under arrest in the tower. She spend several weeks, enjoying hospitality of Fyrs before she was released unto a representative of House Redoran. That during these weeks her addled father, Arethan rampaged through the Ashlands alongside his gang of vagabonds—supposedly as means to cope with kidnapping of his daughter—can scarcely be blamed on House Telvanni, can it not? Truly, Delyna would have been released much sooner, if not for the real fear of her accidentally perishing en-route—Tel Fyr is fairly isolated place and the surrounding waters can be dangerous.

IF campaign 4 was going to be their usual 5e long-form campaign structure with matt as the dm (I have no idea if it will, and have much speculation but that's not what this is about), what classes do you think they'll play?
Here are my theories: (yes I'm including robbie)
liam will play cleric. we've seen him start with lieve'tel, I think he'll go the full way and it will suit him a lot--I personally would LOVE if he went this route. cue some kind of deep-cut religious trauma
laura will play druid. we know she's very good as a spellcaster, and she LOVED polymorphing as jester--plus she always loves having pets in the party. I think it's just a matter of time before we see her go full wildshape
ashley will play bard. I think she's had a lot of fun playing a more charismatic character, and I would just LOVE to see what she would do when giving inspiration to people. I feel like it would be a bit of a grown up Gwennie type of character
sam will play monk. I think he's going to try something a bit more mechanically out-there, plus I think liam would find it very interesting to see what sam would do with it (liam still gives sam his class and race, right?). I really think there's really a lot of room for hilarious tropes for him to play on, like a wisened sensei or something, and of course room for secret devastating trauma
marisha will play barbarian. okay I'm admittedly making a wild guess here. I think she does love playing spellcasters but she also loved being a bit rough with beau. she was very magic-heavy for c3 so I think she'll be the next to say she would like to rage
taliesin will play rogue. we know he likes super crunchy class mechanics so a custom rogue subclass would really suit him. plus I think he'd enjoy doing something like a swashbuckler, or just develop a ton of lore for some theatric crime ring
travis will play fighter. we've seen him play barb, half casters and rogue, it really feels like it's time for him to try an echo knight maybe. and I think he'd enjoy playing something focused on skill and training, with a mentor or a clan maybe
robbie will play wizard. I think he suits being theatric and he would get to do that as a wizard, while also incorporating a lot of magic and traits that he didn't have as dorian. and god I'd love to see him make SUCH a nerdy character
I'd love to see what anyone else thinks, and then, when I've had a bit more time to think about it, I might speculate what races they would play too 👀

Hello hello! I've been a follower of yours for a while (minus my Tumblr break) Your Catvis fic is one of my favorites from you. And the fact that you just started your IkeSen journey makes me so excited for you!! You're in for such a treat imo. It's the one Cybird game that I keep going back to even though it's one of the older ones now. Love the MC so much and the warlord interactions and shenanigans. Ahhhhh! What made you decide to play? And do you have any favorite warlords yet or is there any that piqued your interest?
Aw, thank you! 😊
Clavis is absolutely PREENING at the Catvis story reference. Funny enough, one of the countless WIPS I have is a sequel to that tale. Except it involves Rio drinking Clavis’s polymorphic potion, turning into a dog, and the chaos afterwards.
Emma: Oh no! We have to help Rio!
Silvio: Ugh, do we?
Clavis: That might be difficult dearie. The antidote to my potion has “mysteriously” been destroyed.
Emma: CLAVIS!
Nokto: Don’t look at him. Look at the dog glued at your feet and how much his tail’s waggling.
Silvio: GROSS!
Rio: WOOF! *Jumps happily in Emma’s lap*
Clavis: Excuse me pup. That’s MY spot, haha!
…
But anyways warlords!
I’ve been wanting to play this game for ages. Heard awesome things about the world-building, the sassy Mai. Been quietly lurking, reading tumblr posts and AO3 fanfic for ikesen for a few months, loving every bit of it.
Buttttt…I hadn’t played until now cause of time. And money. These men love money, especially when I’m thirty to know more game lore (and thirsty for…you know…THEM).
When I download a game, I go DOWN A RABBIT HOLE. I want to know everything—character motivations, inner thoughts, politics. It’s kind of an all or nothing scenario. And that’s…not ideal cause I’m also AWFUL with time management after work and have the attention span of a crack-addled squirrel. My brain is trying to do all the deep dive analyzes on limited data while simultaneously flashing quippy reactions as I read that also distract 😆
Friends and other bloggers kept saying such awesome things about ikesen (particularly the world building which seemed to be just as great if not better than my beloved ikemen prince) that I ultimately gave in. And boy I’m glad I did!
In terms of characters catching immediate interest…Will limit to top three cause otherwise I’ll write rambling blurbs for them all.
Hideyoshi. Playing his route now. Quickly discovering mama hen will be a favorite. The right combo of endearing, intelligence, reliability, and taking care of everyone but him needing someone to do the same for him. I am RESISTING spamming the ikesen tag on tumblr with my rabid mama hide thoughts.
Mitsunari. He’s super (book) intelligent, a gentleman, uber strategic, and has the face of an angel. He’s an awesome combo of intelligent and (seemingly) sweet naïveté. And sprites with him wearing glasses put me in a feral state for reasons unknown. *Grabs glasses with teeth*
Masamune. He IMMEDIATELY gets catapulted into top three cause his VA is the same as my absolute ikemen fave Ikeprince Leon. His voice is as smooth as butter over bread. Warlord Leon WITH an eyepatch but bolder? Yes please.
Ok and I said I wouldn’t list more than three but MITSUHIDE. I wanna smack him and kiss him at the same time. He seems like if ikeprince Chev and Clavis were put together and given Sariel’s snake references. Hisssssssss 🐍
#ikemen prince#ikemen sengoku#chirpy chirps#I’m being quite literal with me resisting spamming the ikesen tag with mama hen thoughts cause he’s got me in a chokehold#ikemen cybird#ikesen hideyoshi#ikesen mitsunari#ikesen masamune#ikesen mitsuhide#otome

3 and 15.... I come to you with knees bent and face turned up to kiss your palms as if in prayer asking for 3 and 15 on the ask meme.....
honestly this ask scared me because i was literally writing a piece of PMPE where it is discussed how the plague in dankovsky's ears sound like psalms and prayers are you in my walls...? oh well that's topical. LET'S GO
3. any ideas for how that experiment where daniil resurrected a woman went down?
love this question love it love it ok so the collective-imaginative vision of the anatomist resurrecting the dead before a crowd is very Victorian, it's very 19th century, at a time where mediums and other spiritualists were a more and more common sight; it's Gothic, it's Frankensteinesque. now, while patho's time period is purposefully ambiguous, many consider it 1910s-ish, with p2 being a little later (possibly closer to 1930s from what we've seen of the bachelor's route behind-the-scenes), so by this time, this type of thing would have been quite passé, and for Dankovsky especially, who's a man of the future, and not of the past, at least as far as medicine goes. the only account of him resurrecting a woman is from Lilich, and in the text it is also mentioned she didn't introduce herself by this name. the canon explanation for this is that puppet-players are not remembering their past games right, and are not weaving a coherent story; but i see this as... dankovsky would not do this kind of thing publicly - again, too Victorian, and with everything that entails; the pompousness, the stuck-upness,, the religiosity, the good mores; he is not of that kind. he would do this privately, he has. privately, perhaps surrounded by his peers at Thanatica, and as such, he remembers there being a woman - not Lilich, not even Karstlich (how she says she introduced herself as then), but his memory faltering¹ he thinks he remembers it. same for Lilich, in her own right: she attended one of his lectures. it did not contain reanimation, it contained something else; but his reputation, preceding and running after him like a bloodhound, has shaped her remembering of it. he has never resurrected a woman, privately or publicly - how so? how come? because he has never defeated death. we begin the game with him desperately trying, because he has always failed before.
¹ this is not faltering. i see it more as closer to greek myths: a single myth will be different from era to era, from storyteller to storyteller, from island to island. they are all true. this is not faltering, this is a truth polymorphic.
15. pick a barnett newman painting for each of them
my favorite question. let's get on with it.
this is Andrey. do you see the un-inked strip? and do you see how the ink seems to bubble up all around it, like festering around a wound, like matter accumulating by the Lack, bubbling up like anger, boiling? this un-inked stripped is what he sees as his Lack. he is the one constantly bringing up peter as his soulmate, them being two sides of a same coin, he is the one who declares the threefold bullet line. he is the one who acts in lack, in order to fill the lack. kill to keep peter close. go forward to bring dankovsky closer. kill a man because you couldn't keep him. matter, his own, and other's, accumulate by the Lack. dead fish where the water has drained.
this is Peter. the twotone is because i think he's bipolar (true fact). it is also because the pitch-black rectangle, the monolith, is the shape of farkhad's grave - it is farkhad's grave. (it is farkhad.) he is the guilt-bearer, he is eaten. half of him eaten by guilt, like taking of his bed. this half would be where he has space for andrey, for dankovsky, for himself expanded, but the murder put in its place the casket. he and andrey have been drifting apart since the murder, peter says of it he has been "hurting for 10 years" because of it, because of andrey's act of it. see how the black monolith encroaches into the lighter ink's space, but the reverse isn't true, because the black of the monolith is so absolute? this is happening to him.
this is Dankovsky. his shape is different from the others, because he is different from the others. he does not quite fit in with the twins. he is in the middle: he is cleaved. he is cleaved because he lacks: his life work has been destroyed, and he is slowly realizing everything is slipping out of his grasp. he is cleaved in two, there is a hollow for a third thing, a third part, a third piece. andrey calls it: molded me, my brother, and you into a single person… The fire of war has molded us into a threefold bullet. dankovsky is cleaved piece into which the already-molded peter and andrey could fit. if they were molded. and andrey, paining peter for years, has quite kept them from being so. dankovsky will keep this cleave, his hollow: he says "keep your dumb head cool", he reins back in. the hollow is fit for grief. at his sides, shadows approach and stand, but do not encroach. still, they threaten. one is bigger, one is seeping out. one grows and swells like an oil spill. (a monolith, baring hazier parts, in the fog of unknownness)
this is farkhad. come then forth thee monolithe... stands tall, pitch-black, front and center, middle. not unlike his grave. on his sides, matter frames him, maybe follows, or threatens him. matter boils, bubbles, or streaks. matter reacts to him, or around him -> the twins. the single white line, maybe the breaking of the bond, or the knife strike. see there, to the right, three lines? they are brackets: } . they are bringing-together brackets. he is the bringer-together... for the better and worse.
this was so fun :3 thank you... [ask me a little something something?]
#sicko voice haha YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS#that 15 one was so so so fun. yaaaayyy :3#allô (answers)#anonymous#threefold bullet#threeandahalffold bullet#fourfold bullet#ask meme

Immortal Tutor Technomancer (Technomancer Alternate Class Feature)

(art by BootsDotEXE on DeviantArt)
Science-fantasy spellcasting may change a lot from the ancient days. Unified theories of magical sources, more robust understanding of the mystic arts, but even in such halcyon future days, there are some things that do not change, and one of those things is that sometimes mages will seek out otherworldly tutors to learn magic.
One part Ars Goetia and/or Lesser Key of Solomon “summon this specific demon or angel to learn about a topic” and another part homage to the witch patrons of Pathfinder, some technomancers seek out cosmic beings to help learn the arts of fusing magic and technology. After all, just as mortals have developed, so too do the cosmos.
However, while it is possible to entreat with fiends for such tutelage, remember that this path is open to all alignments, though the exact nature of the being you call upon will influence what benefits you gain.
I can’t help but imagine technomancers with immortal tutors contacting their patrons for more learning through various hybrid tech methods. Some may set up a rune-etched holoprojector to “summon” their patron. Or perhaps they literally have their patron on speed dial with an eldritch communicator.
While the method varies, their powers are undeniable, as we’ll soon see.
Rather than having a spell cache that lets them cast any one spell they know for free once a day, these mystics can instead cast a specific variable-level spell based on the nature of their tutor once per day, even if it’s not on in their repertoire otherwise. Aeons grant levitation and flight, celestials, elementals, and fiends grant appropriate summons, inevitables enhance projectiles into deadly splitting adamantine-like shots, and proteans grant self-polymorphing.
As they grow in mastery, each tutor provides their first, second, third lessons. The first comes into effect after the caster uses a spell, the second with an expenditure of resolve, and the third grants an additional benefit when the first lesson is triggered.
For aeons, this includes bolstering attacks when you switch damage types regularly, being able to learn a new language for a brief while, and finally gaining a bit of an aeon’s formlessness to avoid critical blows.
Celestials, meanwhile grant a brief defensive ward that only evil can pierce, a sudden burst of insight with a skill, and finally a ward that bolsters the defenses of nearby allies.
Elementals start by granting bolstered movement based on the nature of the elemental patron, flight for air, burrowing for earth, faster land speed for fire, and swimming for water. Next they learn to intensify the damage of their elemental spells, gaining greater than average results. Finally, they can gain resistance to the element in question, electricity or fire for air and fire, and physical resistance for earth and water.
Fiends provide protection only bypassed by good, as well as a magical trick to grow spikes on one’s armor, and finally fiery protection as well as a flash of fiendish malice that leaves foes shaken.
Inevitables teach the caster how to bolster their vitality after casting a spell, take on a mechanical mien to resist harmful effects, and rapidly restore stamina for a short time.
And finally protean tutors teach their casters how to infuse their attacks with chaos, changing the damage type randomly but having slightly better average damage. For their second lesson, They gain some of the ever-changing anatomy of proteans for a short while to reduce the effect of critical blows. Finally, their form becomes fluid after casting, letting them slip through obstacles and avoid attacks and grappling.
As you can see, each tutor type offers different benefits, from the protections offered by celestials to the mobility and damage of elemental tutors. With that in mind, there are a lot of ways to build these technomancers no matter what route you go with. Just know that you have to cast spells or spend resolve to use them, and remember to manage those resources effectively.
Much like the witch patrons of Pathfinder’s yesteryear, coming up with the exact nature of your character’s tutor, as well as the relationship they have with the mage, can be very interesting indeed. Is your tutor a helpful source of advice? Do they require some sort of service for their tutelage? Is their instruction purely transactional?
Additionally, this character option could be a good launching point for homebrew for other outsider types or more specific ones, such as psychopomps or say, demons instead of fiends.
A computer whiz in addition to being a technomancer, Koski has been eager to innovate encryption for the past year. However, the young vlaka has grown increasingly frustrated, as the advice given by his protean tutor, (chosen for their understanding of chaos) results in encrypted files that can no longer be unlocked.
Not all immortal tutors are willing, as is the case with the “diabolus ex machina” method used by technomancers that wish for the insights of devils without the contracts. However, the method has risks, such as when a young mage plugged his binding device into Tageo Station’s main computer and the fiend within utilized a loophole to possess the organic computing components (derived from cerebric fungus buds), resulting in a takeover of the whole station.
Having finished their millenia-long duty guarding the cosmic city of order, an inevitable known as “Pilgrim-Follows the Unending Road” has chosen an active retirement of serving as the tutor for aspiring technomancers. However, technology has evolved considerably in that time, and while they do sometimes offer archaic advice, Pilgrim is trying their best, and is an insightful instructor regardless.

notes on rhea from something in the static
Writing Something in the Static meant re-evaluating Rhea's character sheet and backstory, and damn.
First of all, here's the image on her character sheet because i was still in my rogue one era
you're welcome, shadowheart????? your gf is the gremlin from rogue one
thee besties ever trying to work out why there's a fully drained boar near camp even though astarion SWEARS he saw nothing
there's also the features from her lil character sheet
I don't think I started describing her hair as auburn until another player described her as red haired and then I just accepted that into my mind.
I also have her (extremely long) backstory.
Rhea's name was, originally Princess Seren Rhea Erebus Cristabel Marie Lowell of the House Lowell, a small kingdom in the Dragonspine Mountains. The Ride lays at their feet and they sit between an entrance to the Underdark and the Zhentarim Citadel of the Raven. The daughter of Wizard King David Lowell's fourth (Eladrin) wife, she's the youngest child and only daughter of House Lowell. Four of her older brothers are much older humans; her twin is another half-elf, but he sucks. >:(
She grew up largely insulated from politics by her family. As the youngest child of House Lowell, there was no need for her to know anything. She was there solely to be married off and secure a trade route or alliance; there was nothing left for her to inherit. She spent her childhood mostly reading, occasionally escaping into the gardens of the castle to play with the children of servants. Sometimes she'd spend time with her mother, a strange and distant winter eladrin who hardly spoke to her at all and preferred her twin brother. The bulk of her time with mother was spent with her mother's ladies in waiting, Spring Eladrin who gradually turned to Winter Eladrin as their sadness at being trapped on the material plane grew.
Her father, King David Lowell, is a wizard of unique ability and renown. His obsession with power leads him to view the people around him as lesser beings. He loves his children distantly, the way one might love their neighbour's dog. He would casually cast spells on them; Detect Thoughts when they passed him in hallways, Polymorph if they annoyed him, Power Word: Stun once when his eldest son attempted to fight back. Any slights against him by one would turn into psychological torment for the rest. Once, when he caught them fighting, he turned Seren (with her larger than average ears and front teeth) into a rabbit, and her skittish brother into a black cat. Later, after dispelling the polymorph on just her brother, he led him to believe that they'd lost track of her. For dinner that night, he served rabbit that had been caught that day, forcing his sons to eat a creature they thought might be their sister, whipping the ones that cried.
Once, David decided her (previously favourite) middle brother Simon hadn't disciplined his hunting dogs correctly and polymorphed her into a rabbit again, forcing Simon to set his dogs on her, to track how well they followed orders to stop. The dogs did not recognise Simon's commands through his terrified sobs, and ripped her rabbit form to shreds. The polymorph broke and David killed the dogs before they could harm her humanoid form leaving her with no physical damage, but Seren's trust in both dogs and her older brothers was broken irreparably.
The older she got, the more her father and older brothers leaned on her to be more dignified, to take lessons of etiquette, learn music, recite poetry, entertain diplomats and learn her place in the world. Her father encouraged her musical ability, her education, tempering his cruelty with gifts and compliments. He liked her freckles because they reminded him of her mother's brother, an eladrin Seren had never met. He thought one day she'd make an amazing gift to secure a trade route - eladrin lovers are exotic, he'd be able to put up her bride price accordingly. He even had her attend college with her brothers when she showed a decent barding talent. She has a degree in history now, like you even CARE, dad. (He's very proud of her, despite being an evil monster). Education is a sore point to her; she's talented when it comes to picking up on systems and patterns, but she's very insecure about her dyslexia and can't see past her fear.
While at university, she was exposed to the outside world for the first time. Seren wasn't a complete innocent; before this she'd liked to spend time with (read: do drugs with) one of the stable boys, Xander, and she had a huge, age appropriate crush on a noblewoman who would spend time with him, leading to an awkward but strangely comfortable romantic triangle (she liked the noblewoman, the noblewoman liked Xander, Xander liked doing drugs with his friends). But this was her first time viewing her father's kingdom in a new light.
Things were bad. Her father wasn't just "taxing the peasants a bit", he was bleeding them dry. Furthermore, the mithral that their economy depended on was deep in the darkest part of the mines and they did not have the appropriate technology or expertise to reach it; the mining guild dwarves had packed up long before, leaving the remaining peasants, not protected by a union, to struggle as tunnels collapsed. The people were starving, their food taken as tithes for the royal family. When tensions rose, soldiers cut them down. Seren watched this with mounting horror, returning to the castle changed. She approached her father's throne and demanded he take action and end the outrageous taxing, help their people rebuild. He refused.
Seren, being both brave and a naive twenty one year old, went to the town to offer her services to the rebellion. The rebellion was run by a hero, Amara, an ex-mercenary eldritch knight in her late thirties, who gladly accepted the young princess...as a hostage. Seren was fine with that. Over the months they spent together, locked in the inn that the rebels used as a hideout she considered herself learning and growing from the people her family ruled. She was delighted when Amara told her to join her in bed, viewing it as a larger piece of a romantic puzzle. If they were doing things that she didn't really enjoy...well, she was learning a lot, wasn't she? It was a trade-off.
All the things her father complimented and made her feel weird about, Amara hated. She hated Seren's elven green eyes, the way they reflected light in the dark. She hated Seren's freckles because they made her look childish. She told Seren frequently that she looked like her father - meaning, ugly, evil, cruel. This did not stop her from sleeping with Seren.
The other rebels could be cruel. Even as Seren called them friends or comrades, they would frequently abuse her for her father's crimes. Amara rarely stepped in, telling her she needed to earn their respect by not being like her father. Her father had sent their family members to die in mines, taxed them til they starved, ripped down their temples, wanting to be their only god. Her father was evil, and had caused so much pain. She was evil too, Amara reminded her, frequently. She had benefited from the deaths of their friends and families.
There was very little Seren could do to prove otherwise. When she tried to play for them - songs that the diplomats and courtiers had found charming or soothing - she was dismissed as an awful musician, was told her father had likely paid others to tell her she was good. When they found out from an old classmate about her dyslexia, she would be asked to write notes in meetings and lambasted for spelling mistakes. Any contribution she made during strategy meetings would be dismissed as foolish, but used later when suggested by others.
("You're just...unpleasant to hear from," Amara would assure her as the rebels captured key targets with minimal bloodshed using Seren's ideas. "Nobody wants to take the advice of someone as awful as you.")
In the meantime, King Lowell weighed up his daughter's safety, and bet against the rebels killing her; when he located their hideout he came down on them with the full might of the military. It would be fine, he told them. Just give me back my daughter and I'll let all of you go free. When they finally gave in and handed back Seren, he took them prisoner and had them executed in front of her. Amara first. They died screaming, cursing the name Seren Lowell.
Well, you don't kill your daughter's first love without creating a bit of a split in your relationship. As her father and brothers celebrated the destruction of the rebellion, Seren vowed to bring the House of Lowell crashing down. As punishment for taking part in the rebellion, Seren was locked in her rooms, with a view of the corpses of the rebels she'd once called friends. But that gave her ample time to marinate in rage and grief as she planned, gazing out at their decaying bodies.
On her third night of being locked in, her mother, Serena, visited her for the first time. Here, she revealed that she was a hostage too. She'd been a Spring Eladrin, who'd met David Lowell when he'd been a mere wizard in an adventuring party who'd stepped into the Feywild. She had taken a liking to him, and conceived Seren and her brother. David had returned to the Material Plane. He was gone for a blink in the life of a Spring Eladrin, enough time for her to realise she was pregnant. This same gap was much longer in the Material Plane; by the time he returned to the Feywild, David was now King Lowell. He'd taken her back with him and when she'd tried to return to the Feywild, she found that he'd managed to trap her on the Material Plane. Her freedom had been sealed away by a Drow artifact he kept close. By stealing it and returning it to be unmade in the Underdark, Seren could rid the curse from her mother and allow her to finally escape the castle. Not only that, but then Serena could bring her own political might to bear and bring the wrath of the Eladrin down on House Lowell. Fuck yeah!
Using everything she'd learned from the rebellion, Seren slipped through the castle and stole the amulet (along with a few other easily pawnable things) before escaping. She made one mistake: she told her twin brother her plan. He'd raised the alarm before she'd gotten far, leaving her on the run. On the run from her father's men Seren changed her name. First to Rhea Lowell, and then when it became too apparent that anyone who'd heard of their tiny kingdom would probably connect 'Princess Seren Rhea of House Lowell' to 'Rhea Lowell', she changed her surname to 'Dancer', because she was at an inn, watching someone dance as she was picking out names. Nice and easy. Suited her better. Except now people keep calling her Tiny Dancer?
On the road, she found out more. Her father, a powerful wizard, had dreams of becoming a god. He'd read once about an eladrin sorcerer who'd done something like that, only to fail halfway through and lose her body and memories. He wanted the full deal. No half-measures.
Rhea made it to Waterdeep, where she dithered around, trying to work out if she should tell Laeral Silverhand and alert the Lord's Alliance to her father's crimes. Unfortunately, the Zhentarim caught up with her and, following her father's instructions of 'okay fine you want to go to the Underdark? YOU'RE GOING TO THE UNDERDARK!' sold her into Drow slavery.
By now, King Lowell regretted his actions and had sent her brother to find her and bring her home. But Rhea was already in the slave pits.
Underdark big moments:
* Killing Priestess Mizzrym * Befriending Stool * Almost sacrificed to the demogorgon * Praying to Sehanine Moonbow about Amara and never receiving a response * Finding a magic sword * Swearing herself to the Raven Queen * Morgan finding her * Starting a rebellion in Gracklstugh * Hatching Gerri the red dragon from an egg * Neverlight Grove, swearing vengeance on Zuggtmoy * Reaching Blingdenstone, hot tubs, fighting endless oozes On the surface, big moments: * Spending time in Waterdeep * Helping Tol overthrow his evil king * Returning to Lowell a paladin * Freeing her mother, who leaves for the feywild, withdrawing her offer of support * Stopping David in the middle of a ritual to become a god * David uses a timestop and a melee attack (sword :() to kill Rhea * David regrets the death of his favourite child and institutes a national day of mourning, burying her with flowers * Morgan brings her back to life with the help of the Raven Queen, offering to become her Chosen in Shadowfell in exchange.

Ahem.
Introducing Nanim, heir of House Exeltis of Baldur's Gate
AKA, if Larian isn't going to give us a nonbinary companion, I'm going to make one up myself.
Quick Class details:
Wild Magic Sorcerer with a noble background, half-drow, they/them
Meeting:
In the wreckage of the Nautiloid crash, you find them cornered by three sheep. As you approach, they warn you in a panic to stay back, and the sheep attack. The aforementioned sheep are actually polymorphed Intellect Devourers.
Starting Cantrips:
Minor Illusion
Mage Hand
Shocking Grasp
Ray of Frost
Dancing Lights (drow heritage)
Starting Spells:
Disguise Self
Color Spray
Skills:
History (noble background)
Persuasion (noble background)
Arcana
Religion
Personality:
Starting off by saying they're Lawful Neutral. They grew up nobility with strict rules about when and how to behave and what to do in regards to their Wild Magic surges, so they firmly believe that anyone who is in charge is in charge for a reason, and any rules they set are SET for good reason. You can sway their opinion on this by investigating into the people in charge; for example, initially, they're on the druids' side on the tiefling vs druid conflict, because it's THEIR grove, they're allowed to let in whomever they choose, the refugees are infringing on the rules they set by staying. However, when you find out Kagha's there because Halsin's gone and Kagha's been dealing with the shadows, Nanim's like "wait a minute. You aren't qualified to lead at ALL" and reevaluates their opinion.
They are VERY sheltered as to how the world works. Courtesy of their upbringing.
Very optimistic and charismatic, VERY loyal, and will judge you if you AREN'T loyal to the company you keep. Extremely eager to explore, with little regard to personal safety due to being a Wild Magic bomb all the time. On the more negative side, they're careless, naive, a bit insensitive and pompous due to their status, very impulsive, and hedonistic. They like luxury, they don't believe in challenging rules to help those affected negatively by them, they think they're greater than they are (sorcerous hubris at its finest) and that all their opinions are correct, and they chase novelty like an addiction.
They also zone out. A lot. Like, in the middle of a conversation, a lot. It's often filled with impulsive thoughts that they're sorting into "yes" and "no" piles (examples: "Should I ask Astarion if he's also part drow? If I smack Shadowheart's braid, will she kill me? I want to poke Karlach, just to see if she's REALLY on fire or if it's illusory.") an you can use the tadpole to listen in. Don't get caught!
They're genuinely afraid of confronting their negative traits or admitting they might be wrong about something, in denial about things that don't fit their pre-established idea of themselves. Unintentionally condescending at times. Craves friends and romance both, has no idea how either work (has been to brothels, sure, but hasn't ever had a genuine connection with someone). Likes music, plays the lute. Very vain.
Approval:
Following pre-set rules (the druids want the refugees out of the grove, the refugees want your help, you refuse to challenge the druids)
Being willing to engage with your surroundings (Eilistraee's sword, the Blood of Lathander, touching the button in Withers' crypt)
Refusing to deal with rule-breakers (the Zhentarim)
Researching/being knowledgeable about religion/history/magic (successful dice rolls)
Staying out of problems that don't concern you (declining to get involved with Ethel vs the brothers)
Taking charge and standing up for your companions (telling the Gur that Astarion's under your protection, standing up for Gale when the others want him to leave, telling Mizora off when she comes to punish Wyll)
Literally anything positive to do with the drow twins at Sharess's Caress
Disapproval:
Defying the order of things (helping the refugees, telling Minthara you'll help her)
Picking the safe route/electing to leave something alone (non-confrontational dialogue choices, abandoning the Blood of Lathander)
Dealing with blatantly bad characters (the Zhentarim, the goblin camp, that paladin that wants to steal the gith egg, Viconia, Balthazaar, Mizora)
Being genuinely dumb (licking the spider, drinking Thisobald Thorm's brew, giving your blood to Araj, waving to Vlaakith, drinking Priestess Gut's potion)
Getting involved with other people's conversations when they didn't ask for you (convincing Rolan's siblings to stay at/leave the grove, interrupting Kagha vs Arabella)
Selling people out (Astarion, Isobel, Shadowheart)
Prying into other people's heads in your party on purpose (Gale, Shadowheart, themself)
Being rude to friendly characters
Being modest and/or humble (downplaying yourself or refusing finer things in life; they want luxury and rewards, damn it!)
Some general, non-personal-quest-related dealbreaker moments (ie, moments where Nanim will permanently leave your party):
Betraying the grove (you have to roll intimidation a few times to avoid this)
The Dark Urge kills a companion on purpose (non-combat, specifically by giving in to the Urges)
Goading Orin into killing whomever she has captive
This is a very long post, so I'll split the Nanim lore into multiple parts (their history, their quest, their romance, etc) and link them here when finished.
Part 2: Nanim's History
#bg3#companion idea#nanim#i am very proud of the work i put into them#like; they're not perfect#they're not going to be happy with all of your 'good' choices#they're not going to be happy with all your bad ones either#they've got flaws and they've got quirks and are unique to engage with (or at least that's the hope)#also gods is it hard to get pictures with proper lighting#i will get more pictures in different lighting for later i swear#also also 'why don't they have grey skin if they're half drow?'#they do have it! look at the ears and the lips#was absolutely thrilled to find that skin tone because it looks like both of their parents#instead of drow lite#same with the hair; one parent has white hair and the other has black#so you get graphite grey. because while i want them to be nice to look at i don't want them to be perfectly conventionally pretty#i want them to be an acquired taste for whatever corner of players decide to like them

My idea for my commander in the second round.
I haven't decided on her name yet. Probably choose from Faith, Fiona, and Melody.
She's a tiefling feyspeaker druid, and she'll go trickster mythic route. She's kind, optimistic, and has oneesan-energy. Many people have negative opinions on tieflings, and she wants to change it by doing good deeds, helping others with her druid power. However, she likes the feeling of playing tricks on the others. She struggled with that since she wanted others to change their opinions of them tiefling. Throughout the adventures on worldwound, she'll learn a way to accept that trickster aspect of hers.
I think Woljiff might be her good friend, and he's the one that she plays tricks on the most.
For example, one day in Drezen, Woljiff lost a bet with her, and she used baleful polymorph to turn him into a cat boy for a day.

So I made like a branching off like Dnd's character that every now and again plagues my thoughts with "wouldn't that be cool?" So... dnd character lives in a village, one day village gets attacked by monster, to save his either pregnant wife, he sacrifices himself to the monsters only to wind up at a random place, with all his memories gone with only with rags for clothes and having to become a rogue to keep living. Now I am deciding if the guy is either a human or a tiefling, for the tiefling I have either 2 routes for this which are: Dnd Character mom had one nightstand with disguised devil, had tiefling baby, mom panicked so she found a wizard who would let him cast true polymorph on baby, Dnd character is raised human whole life, now I'm debating having the character have true polymorph dispelled after he Wakes up or having him have it dispelled further along the line where the party finds out. Also debating having one of the monsters be the devil's father, which is why he didn't die. For the human route, I haven't found a reason for why he would survive the monster attack. So racking my brain on that one
You could also have a wizard enchantment where no one in the village could see it, including him.
Thus when transported, he can't see it still, but everyone else is like dude. You aren't human. And hes like nuh uh look at my baby photo. And they're like dude you have horns. And hes like no to I didn't and he looks at the photo and sees horns but he reaches up to touch to confirm and he can't feel anything (the enchantment actively has him missing where the horns are) and you get a healthy crisid

Manufacturing Nilotinib API: Key Process Considerations and Quality Challenges

Nilotinib is a second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) primarily used in the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). As an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), nilotinib plays a crucial role in inhibiting the BCR-ABL protein that causes the uncontrolled proliferation of leukemic cells. Given its therapeutic importance and stringent safety requirements, manufacturing nilotinib API demands meticulous planning, process control, and regulatory compliance.
This article explores the key considerations in the production of nilotinib API, along with the major quality challenges that manufacturers must navigate to ensure safe and effective delivery to end-users.
1. Synthetic Route Development
The manufacturing of nilotinib begins with route selection, which directly impacts yield, cost-efficiency, and impurity formation. The synthesis process typically involves multiple steps, including heterocyclic coupling, amine protection/deprotection, and amide bond formation.
Process developers must evaluate several critical parameters during route design:
Reagent selection and cost
Reaction efficiency and scalability
Environmental and safety factors
Control of side reactions and by-products
Establishing a high-purity intermediate pathway is essential to minimize downstream purification load and reduce the risk of impurities exceeding ICH limits.
2. Impurity Profiling and Control
One of the most complex aspects of nilotinib API production is impurity identification and control. Because the molecule contains sensitive functional groups and multiple chiral centers, it is prone to the formation of related substances, isomers, and degradation products.
To address this, manufacturers must:
Implement robust analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, LC-MS) for detection and quantification
Set strict specification limits based on toxicological thresholds
Perform comprehensive forced degradation studies to anticipate and control impurities under various storage and processing conditions
Impurities must be classified and qualified according to ICH Q3A/B guidelines to ensure product safety.
3. Process Validation and GMP Compliance
Nilotinib API falls under high-value, regulated pharmaceutical ingredients, and as such, requires full Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance. The entire process—from raw material sourcing to final API crystallization—must be thoroughly validated.
Key areas of focus during validation include:
Critical Process Parameters (CPPs): Temperature, pH, solvent ratios
Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs): Assay, purity, residual solvents, particle size
Equipment qualification and cleanroom standards to prevent contamination
Manufacturers are required to maintain detailed batch manufacturing records (BMRs) and validation master plans (VMPs), especially if the API is intended for regulated markets like the US, EU, or Japan.
4. Polymorphism and Crystallization Control
The solid-state properties of nilotinib play a critical role in its bioavailability, solubility, and stability. During final crystallization, controlling polymorphic form is essential to maintain consistency in performance and comply with regulatory filings.
Challenges here include:
Identifying and maintaining the correct crystal form (e.g., Form A, Form B)
Avoiding unintended form conversion during drying or storage
Optimizing solvent selection and cooling profiles
Failure to maintain a consistent polymorphic profile can lead to regulatory rejections and batch failures in downstream formulation.
5. Environmental and Safety Considerations
The use of organic solvents, reagents like phosphorylating agents, and elevated reaction temperatures make nilotinib synthesis both environmentally and operationally sensitive. Manufacturers must ensure:
Efficient waste management and solvent recovery systems
Compliance with EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) guidelines
Worker safety through proper PPE, closed systems, and process automation
Minimizing the ecological footprint while maximizing yield remains a balancing act in nilotinib API production.
Conclusion
The manufacturing of nilotinib API is a highly specialized process that involves a delicate interplay of synthetic chemistry, regulatory rigor, and quality assurance. From route development and impurity control to polymorphic consistency and GMP compliance, every step must be optimized for safety, scalability, and global regulatory acceptance.
As demand for high-performance oncology APIs grows, nilotinib API manufacturers that focus on innovation, quality control, and environmental responsibility will remain critical to the success of global pharmaceutical supply chains.

How Palbociclib API Is Manufactured: Process Overview and Quality Challenges

Palbociclib, a selective cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4/6 inhibitor, has become a vital drug in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer. Its widespread clinical adoption has driven global demand for high-quality Palbociclib Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API). For pharmaceutical companies and drug developers, understanding how Palbociclib API is manufactured—and the quality challenges involved—is essential for selecting reliable Palbociclib API manufacturers.
Overview of Palbociclib API Manufacturing
Palbociclib's molecular complexity and stringent purity requirements make its production a highly controlled, multi-step chemical synthesis process. Typically, the API is manufactured using a series of intermediate reactions that involve key raw materials, reagents, catalysts, and solvents under tightly regulated conditions.
1. Synthetic Route Design
The manufacturing of Palbociclib starts with designing a scalable and patent-compliant synthetic route. Most Palbociclib API manufacturers adopt routes that avoid patented intermediates or processes (depending on regional patent laws). The synthetic pathway generally involves:
Construction of the pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-7-one core, which is the pharmacologically active part of the molecule.
Introduction of cyano and methylamino functional groups, crucial for its selective kinase inhibition.
Multiple purification steps like crystallization or chromatography to eliminate impurities and residual solvents.
The entire process must be robust enough to handle multi-kilogram or ton-scale batches without compromising purity or yield.
2. Process Optimization and Scalability
Once the route is finalized, the focus shifts to process optimization:
Yield improvement to reduce waste and cost.
Cycle time reduction for improved manufacturing efficiency.
Solvent recovery systems to minimize environmental impact and enhance sustainability.
Leading Palbociclib API manufacturers often use Process Analytical Technology (PAT) to monitor real-time reactions, helping ensure consistency and reducing deviations.
Key Quality Challenges in Palbociclib API Manufacturing
Despite being a well-established molecule, manufacturing Palbociclib API at commercial scale presents multiple challenges. Ensuring high-quality output demands strict control over every step of the process.
1. Impurity Control and Profiling
Due to its complex chemical structure, Palbociclib synthesis may yield structural isomers, degradation products, and process-related impurities. Regulatory bodies like the USFDA and EMA require detailed impurity profiling and setting tight specifications for:
Organic impurities (e.g., unreacted intermediates)
Inorganic impurities (e.g., residual catalysts)
Residual solvents (as per ICH Q3C guidelines)
Achieving impurity levels within limits is one of the biggest quality hurdles.
2. Polymorphism and Crystallinity
Palbociclib is known to exhibit polymorphism, which can influence its bioavailability, stability, and solubility. Manufacturers must consistently produce the correct polymorphic form (usually Form A or B) and ensure proper crystallization conditions are maintained across batches.
3. Batch-to-Batch Consistency
Uniformity in particle size distribution, color, and flow properties is essential to maintain downstream formulation compatibility. This requires:
Precise control over temperature, pH, and solvent ratios
Repeatable equipment performance (reactors, dryers, filtration systems)
Strong in-process control and end-product testing protocols
4. Regulatory Compliance
Palbociclib API is subject to stringent regulatory standards. Manufacturers must comply with:
Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Drug Master File (DMF) submissions
ICH guidelines for stability and validation
Only experienced and well-audited Palbociclib API manufacturers can consistently meet these benchmarks, which are essential for gaining approval in regulated markets like the US, EU, and Japan.
Choosing the Right Palbociclib API Manufacturer
Given the complexity of synthesis and regulatory demands, selecting a reliable manufacturer is crucial. Ideal Palbociclib API manufacturers should offer:
Validated production facilities with cGMP certification
Available DMFs (Type II or open part)
Strong R&D and process development capabilities
Proven record of on-time delivery and global supply chain support
Conclusion
Manufacturing Palbociclib API is a meticulous process involving multi-step synthesis, tight impurity control, and stringent regulatory adherence. Only qualified Palbociclib API manufacturers with robust systems and technological expertise can ensure consistent quality, scalability, and compliance. For pharmaceutical companies entering the oncology space, partnering with the right manufacturer can make all the difference in bringing safe and effective drugs to market efficiently.

Laravel Web Development Overview
Laravel is one of the most popular and powerful PHP frameworks used for web development. This is developed by Taylor Otwell in 2011. It has evolved and now is one of the first choices for developers when looking for a modern, efficient, and scalable framework for building web applications. The clean syntax, a number of features, and tools that are developer-friendly make it a preferred choice for both beginners and experts. This article will give an in-depth overview of Laravel, its features, advantages, and why it remains a dominant force in the world of web development.
What is Laravel? Laravel is an open-source PHP framework that primarily focuses on web applications' development using the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern. The framework automates work such as routing, authentication, caching, sessions, and database migrations. By using Laravel, developers are able to code applications in fewer lines with more emphasis on the application's functionality rather than raw PHP coding.
Laravel was designed to provide a robust set of tools to improve the development workflow. It comes with built-in tools for common web development tasks, such as routing, authentication, database interaction, and security. Laravel also promotes the use of clean, readable, and reusable code, which increases the maintainability of web applications over time.
Key Features of Laravel MVC Architecture: Laravel follows the Model-View-Controller architectural pattern, which helps in organizing code logically. It includes a model that deals with data and business logic, a view that deals with the user interface, and a controller that acts as an intermediary between the model and the view. Separation of concerns makes it easier to manage large applications and ensures that the logic is clear and well-organized.
Eloquent ORM: Laravel comes with Eloquent, which is an Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) system that makes database interaction easier. Eloquent allows developers to interact with the database using PHP syntax instead of writing raw SQL queries. This makes database management easy and intuitive, and it supports various relationships between tables such as one-to-many, many-to-many, and polymorphic relations.
Blade Templating Engine: Laravel comes with Blade, a templating engine that provides an easy way to design and render views. Blade lets developers embed PHP code in views without muddying the HTML. It also provides control structures like loops and conditionals directly within the views, which adds to the flexibility of web page rendering.
Routing: Laravel makes routing very simple. Developers can define routes using very clear syntax. Routes can be mapped to controllers or closures, and developers can group related routes to maintain a clean URL structure. Laravel also supports RESTful routing, which is a very important feature in building APIs.
Artisan CLI: Artisan is the CLI tool built into Laravel. Artisan offers a lot of useful commands for web development. With Artisan, developers can create controllers, models, migrations, and much more in a single command. Artisan helps automate repetitive tasks that speed up the development process.
Authentication and Authorization: Laravel provides easy-to-use built-in solutions for user authentication and authorization. This includes features like login, registration, password reset, and email verification. The framework also includes a powerful authorization system that allows developers to define policies and roles for controlling access to various parts of an application.
Security: Laravel takes security quite seriously and provides a variety of mechanisms built in to protect a web application from common attacks such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), cross-site request forgery (CSRF), and session hijacking. It automatically handles escaping output to prevent XSS attacks and provides tools for secure hashing of passwords.
Testing: Laravel uses PHPUnit, the popular unit testing framework for PHP. This makes it really easy to write tests and automatically run them so your codebase is always bug free. The inclusion of a testing suite makes Laravel one of the best options when creating reliable and stable applications.
Queues: By Laravel's queue system, a developer can defer the time-consuming task of processing files to send emails or of file uploads. This allows an improvement in the overall performance and user experience by enabling tasks to be pushed to the background.
Migration and Schema Builder: Laravel's migration system enables developers to version control their database schema. This means developers can define the structure of the database in code and easily modify it across various environments. Schema builder allows for easy creation of database tables, indexes, and foreign keys.
Advantages of Using Laravel for Web Development Simplicity and Developer Friendliness: Laravel is simple yet has enough advanced options for the professional developer. It's clean and elegant, making the process of writing web applications less complex. With its complete documentation and the large number of developers involved, Laravel is really easy to start with.
One of the largest communities in the PHP development world is active and supportive. It provides support through online forums, blogs, tutorials, and documentation. Frequent release of new features and updates ensures that Laravel remains relevant and up-to-date with modern web development trends.
Scalability: Laravel is extremely scalable. It can be used to build everything, from a small personal project to an enterprise-level application. Because of its use of queues, caching, and efficient routing, Laravel easily manages high traffic spikes and complicated systems.
Laravel also supports the development of built-in tools for APIs. One can easily create RESTful APIs using this platform with tools like Laravel Passport that allows easy setup of OAuth authentication, which is always necessary for dealing with secure API requests. The Laravel also supports JSON responses and middleware, which is great for building modern web APIs.
Modular and Extensible: Laravel is modular and allows developers to extend its functionality through packages and libraries. Packages can easily be integrated into the application with features such as payment processing, SEO optimization, or image manipulation.
Strong Performance: Through built-in tools like Laravel's cache system and queue management, performance is automatically optimized. Caching is simple with drivers like Redis or Memcached, so there is a reduction in the number of database queries that need to be run. Thus, the application is responded to much quicker.
Security Best Practices: Laravel follows industry standards for web security. It includes features like encrypted cookies, password hashing, and prevention against SQL injection and cross-site scripting (XSS). This reduces the risks associated with common vulnerabilities and ensures a secure application.
Why Laravel Still Rules This balance of simplicity and functionality might be one reason for Laravel's popularity. Being a modern approach to the development of PHP, coupled with an active and growing community, helps keep Laravel current. The focus on best practice and productivity improvement ensures the relevance of Laravel for every web development project.
Conclusion To summarize, Laravel is a highly potent, flexible, and user-friendly PHP framework that has shaken the web development scenario. With its rich feature set, robust tools, and very active community, Laravel simplifies building secure, scalable, and high-performance web applications. Whether small website development or large enterprise system, everything you need to quickly build modern web applications in the most efficient way can be done through Laravel.
