Ok but like, I like to imagine/headcannon that despite being such a hero, Mario feels a a lot of pressure from his role.

Like the guy is always seen as the solution whenever someone or something is a threat to the Mushroom Kingdom.

I mean, he's been through so much, which includes going through the galaxies (technically twice) and having his own brother turned against him into the harbinger of the apocalypse.

So how could he not, when knowing that he's their hope? When in his mind and literally, the Kingdom depends on him.

Think of it kinda like Luisa from Encanto with her pressure.

Now put that onto Mario.

He just doesn't want to let anyone down or be seen as a failure. Because not only would he fail, his failure/letting them down would lead to his loved ones to get hurt.

So he just pushes through it, and does his best to hide how he's really feeling. Because if he doesn't, it'll be a sign of weakness. And he doesn't want them to see him be weak, he's supposed to be their strong hero.

To add to this, I also like to think that he feels guilty that he's gotten captured (three but technically 4) times by King Boo.

He doesn't want to be a burden to Luigi, so whenever he encounters King Boo or a swarm of boos, he's determined to fight back and thinks he can do it, only to be proven wrong (again and again) when he gets placed in a painting.

Mario probably gets frustrated at himself for not being able to defeat them in the same way he can easily defeat other enemies he's ran into.

Although he probably doesn't want to admit it. All of it. He doesn't want Luigi to get worried for him.

I always loved the detail that Soldier just literally has the name “Jane Doe”

Jane Doe for context is a name given to a person (specifically a woman) who has gone missing, pronounced dead, and no one has a clue who they/she is. There can be extreme cases where there’s nothing for people to look over or determine the person’s occupation or family or anything. It’s sad, down right depressing, because they’re basically erased. And what they call the “Doe Network” basically gives the names John Doe (for men) and Jane Doe (for woman) who have not had their names identified when they died.

I went down a rabbit hole earlier and it’s honestly horrifying. There’s a whole website about missing people and since some of them are pretty mangled, they had to have their faces reconstructed to at least get a hint of what they may have looked like. Some don’t even have anything to show their faces.

Why am I talking about this? Well mostly because I want to yap, but also just question the significance of Soldier’s name?…

Why is he a Jane Doe? Why is it a woman’s name? (Since Jane is used for woman). We haven’t met Soldier’s parents at all….like Pyro or Spy, who are most likely purposefully meant to be mysterious, Soldier seems odd to leave mysterious as well. He’s just a regular old soldier who was denied training/military camp because even that couldn’t stand him, he went on a Nazi murdering spree AFTER ww2, and he seems pretty interested and fantasizes over war, in general, like bits in the comics where he’s so obsessed over holding a friends organs while they die 💀. This could just be me overthinking stuff from funny haha comics of TF2, but it’s endearing….we don’t know of Soldier’s background other than him being kinda a war criminal and break more laws than anybody could think of-

Which is why I wonder. Why Jane Doe? Did his own mother give him that name? If so why? Does she know of the meaning behind it? Does Soldier know? Could it be possible he changed his name to Jane Doe because he heard of the name at some point? Or just needed to change his name? Why the woman’s name of Jane Doe?

I have so many questions. And we have so little answers as to why…

Again, this could all be just jokes; shits and giggles if you will. But I’m genuinely so intrigued…..why tf is Soldier named Jane Doe?….

Still thinking abt @crystaltoa 's narrative and destiny in bionicle essay and at some point it struck me that oh shit is this why Lesovikk never achieves anything?

Because his destiny was to die, basically, he's technically been retired from the narrative before even entering it. He should by all accounts be the equivalent of a name in the flavor text of a Skyrim history book, just there to give additional context to the culture or language or history of the Matoran Universe. He could leave! He could sit back and watch it all unfold from the safety of his "narratively dead" status. But he doesn't know that, and so he wallows in grief and misery for 90 thousand years as he runs in circles desperately trying to insert himself back into a story that just doesn't respond to his presence. He can't save his team because Destiny says so, he can't return to his Matoran because he technically shouldn't exist anymore, he can't kill Karzhani because he's an actual character with a role to play and he can't just be decommissioned by flavor text.

Even in The Powers That Be, where the influence of the narrative is waning and retired characters are being brought back into the story through the Red Star, his only victory is undone (Idris and Sarda notably do not appear even in mentions in the serial despite them having formed/regained a bond with him previously, implying they have since returned to the Mahri/Voya communities while Lesovikk hasn't for whatever reason) and he remains unable to pursue his goals, at best becoming Velika's scapegoat.

He's like a vengeful yet ineffectual ghost stuck in a house that has moved on without him, repeating old motions in the hopes that he will somehow solve his unfinished business soon.

The Myths and Legacy version's conclusion for him (while I still don't enjoy it personally) does fit this reading. He shows up so suddenly on the Red Star but is it strange? Does it even matter? That's where he should have been to begin with, of course the story would twist and bend itself to accomodate that. While Velika is horrendously cruel about it, revealing Lesovikk's purpose in the narrative exorcises that guilt he's been dragging around for nearly a thousand centuries and gives him solace: he fully detaches himself from Kopaka and Pohatu to join the living dead he has so much more in common with, and finally he realizes that little plot point that he'd been stuck on for so long and is finally at peace. By tearing himself to shreds and blowing up a spaceship but at peace nonetheless.

Ok so can we talk about poor Cricket?

The poor guy was mortified when he found out Chip was alive and was coming for him.

And that's putting it lightly. He flat out gets paranoid that if he doesn't do his best to hide, Chip will kill him and his family.

Now to be honest, I thought a paranoid role like this was going to go to Bill.

I thought that Bill's hinted anxiety would come to the surface and that he'll be paranoid because he wants to protect his family.

But no, instead they gave it to Cricket. (Which BTW, I'm not complaining, I like the angle they're going for, because angst)

I mean of course Cricket would be terrified of Chip coming back, the last time he saw him, Chip was literally about to do him and his family in with a helicopter. Twice.

It even gets to the point that he begins seeing things that aren't there.

I also find it interesting because at first, we're led to believe that Cricket wasn't that affected by Chip since in Chipped Off we see him literally dance in relief knowing he's dead on TV. But no, they brought it to attention that deep down he's terrified of Chip because at the end of the day, he's still a kid.

Like I never thought I'd say this, but I think Cricket needs to join the traumatized children's corner with Hunter, Luz, Marcy, Dipper, and Mabel. Then go to therapy with Sasha.

I've been thinking about the reason why the arbitrator comes out of the blue on RT's ship.

Wild guess:

It turns out that Theodora didn't pay taxes for a very long time, so now RT has to bear the arbitrator's presence in her retinue till she pays off the debt. It also explains why RT (at least, my Lynette) always desperately loots literally everything and why her first words when she arrives at any destination are often "Is there money to be made?"

Alr so I was watching edits and came across Arlecchino and an idea popped into my head!

Danny Phantom as Arlecchino in DC also know as: Phantom the Knave Sovereign

(Still working on the name- Before we start I wanna say, I’m just trouble shooting rn and seeing what new ideas I could add with your guys input too. But so far this is what I have)

Ok so plot points:

Somehow Pariah Dark gets free of the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep, either because of Vlad or the Observants

Pariah seeing potential in Danny (and cause he was already dubbed to take Pariahs place after he was old enough) starts trying to become Danny’s parental model (much like Vlad. But Worse.)

It was annoying at first, but slowly over time, Pariah started taking his role as Danny’s “Father” too far and twisted. Wanting to make Danny strong, stronger than he ever will be.

Then one thing leads to another and an identity reveal happens. Except the Fentons now pretend Danny Fenton no longer exists, and it’s just Danny Phantom that is an after image of their boy. Which pains them so they keep their distance, but still help what they think is left of their boy.

Danny is sad about that- but he has his sister Jazz and his two best friends! He can live with his parents pretending he doesn’t exist, atleast not as Danny Fenton no he can’t- he really can’t-

Then shit hits the fan, resulting in Danny’s home dimension into imploding into itself. (Which may or may not be the fault of Pariah Dark)

Luckily Danny is able to get out with Jazz!

But he’s too angry to rationalize himself after the death of his Haunt and almost all his fraid dying. He attacks and attacks Pariah and observers and whoever that threatens his last family at every turn.

More shit hits the fan, resulting in Danny getting cursed, which really hurts Danny. Enough to do weird ghost shenanigans to his biology, (via curse), and Jazz gets caught up.

Pariah sees a golden opportunity to use this to get Danny stronger to become the next king.

But Clockwork has had enough and steps in. Only to be promptly sealed away by the still acting king; Pariah Dark. Which Danny not even knowing as he’s out for the count thanks to the curse. (Jazz is the only witness. But Pariah can’t kill her because of Danny.)

More stuff happens and now Pariah is the acting Father of Danny and Jazz (with amnesia) who are in a ghost normal(?) orphanage with other kids.

Basically Arlecchino’s childhood happens to Danny and Jazz. Just that Pariah has decided to false make Jazz his “bio” kid to mentally fuck with Danny (smol child, and poor Jazz).

Danny still sees Jazz as his sis even if he doesn’t remember

After Jazz sadly doesn’t make it, Danny faces off Pariah once more for the first time. And consumes Pariahs Core into his, eating him alive so no more Pariah for the rest or eternity.

Then remembers- holy shit his names Danny! Not Peruere, which ew- (kidding I love the name-)

Anyways Danny gets mad at Clockwork only to find him sealed and the timelines fucked- and with Clockwork being so weak since the seal-ment, it’s up to Danny to fix the mess (and the one that was caused by the Observants once more with no one on the throne)

And so now Danny travels around timelines, picking up strays and adopting them (much like Batman, but better)

That there is the rough outline of the story!! I probably will make more but I just need to organize my thoughts before going into finer things (and art!)

Also I’d like to mention- while in the orphanage, Danny’s human side takes on more physical characteristics of his ghost form. Sorta merging the two forms into one? Not sure about it.

But Danny’s human form has definitely changed, and the curse is the same as Arlecchinos from Genshin (although would be nice if someone actually explained the curse to me fully- cause I don’t get it at all 😭)

Anyways that’s it- im thinking about interactions with the kids Danny Adopts and such but that’s for another time 💀
