55] Richfront Valley (E) by @captainblou

Human AU. Crowley needs a time-out and ends up in Richfront Valley National Park for 3 weeks. Dr. Aziraphale Fell, former surgeon, already leads a very secluded life in a cabin there, occasionally helping out the rangers when tourists get hurt and need help. They both might not have been what they were looking for, but sometimes life just has different plans. 🫡Bearded Aziraphale - wahoo!!! 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Captainblou calls this story a 80% smut-fic, it might be a little more than that. I love this author and as in already other recs - pls go and enjoy.

56] Out of Alignment (M) by @dragonfire42

Set somewhere after a possible S3, Aziraphale notices that Crowley's bodylanguage is off. He sits wrong, he moves wrong - something IS wrong, though the demon of course doesn´t say so. Until one day he collapses. 😖

A hurt-comfort sickfic (that had me crying) with a soft ending. 🩷

57] Times New Romance (E) by @caedmonfaith

Human Au, in which both Crowley and Aziraphale work as journalists for the Ineffable Times. They are silently pining for each other, as the company has strict anti-dating-rules for their employees. But what can you do, when a rainy day, a closed metro-station and an angel in need come together? 😅

A typical caedmon-fic, nice to read, lots of smut and I absolutely adore the obligatory pauses she orders the readers to take!

58] The Beginning of the end (again) by @addledmongoose

Set after S2, Crowley likes to spend his days getting drunk on the worst possible booze. Aziraphale spends his days in heaven searching for a solution. They both numb in their own ways. One day Crowley is visited by demons and they hatch a plan to stop the second coming on their own. When the angel hears that hell's minions are taking the son of god around the world, he needs to see on his own. He wasn't expecting to find Crowley taking Yeshua on ... dates? 🤨

I really like that this fic is written from 1person-view and in alternating POVs. I have never read a fic in this style and found it quite captivating!

59] Series: Bookwyrm & Serpent: In the dragon's lair (T) by @rattatatosk

A series of 3 parts, in which Crowley is a cursed, elvish thief, trying to steal a book. What he didn't know is that the book would come guarded by a dragon. What he even less expected, is the dragon to help him break the curse. 🩷

Very sweet, a story about ace-love. Just start with the linked story and click on the *next work at the end!

Crowley has had a bad day, Aziraphale helps her to relax ... on a very physical level. 🌶️

What starts off as hot smut, ends eventually very sweet and loving. 🩷

After Aziraphale leaves with the Metatron, Crowley finds himself in a bar full of demons. When he wakes the next day, he is naked - and not alone. 🫣 Definitely mind the tags upfront - it´s Crowley and Furfur!

Set after S2, Aziraphale returns from heaven after 8 minutes and 42 seconds. Why? You'll have to read this little one-shot.

A sweet little crossover with Our Flag Means Death. Crowley and Aziraphale are captains sailing the seas aboard the Serpent and the Eden. 🩷

It's a well known scene of OFMD taken and placed in the GO-Universe, you will probably still enjoy it if you don't know about OFMD!

65] The End of the Beginning (M) by @queenstrata

Set after the book (so not even S1), there was a second apocalypse. Crowley has lost Aziraphale and is sent on earth to come back with an angel to hell - which means he will probably die, either smitten by an angel or by hell for not dragging down an angel. When 2 angels stumble upon the drunk demon, things take on a different direction.

He gave Aziraphale a weird look when the angel actually giggled. "Angel, if we actually had been human, you'd have been the gayest gay man that ever existed."

"Unless, of course, you were female," Aziraphale pointed out innocently. "Then I'd be the gayest straight man that ever existed. …Well, second gayest, at any rate."

"If anyone is the girl in this relationship, it's you." 😂

I found this little gem on Google, it's not on AO3 and actually from 2004! There are no tags, I chose the M-rating just to be on the safe side. The story takes unexpected turns and is clearly written before the TV-adaptation, but it's somehow endearing to know the fandom has been there long before. 🩷 And the dialogues!

Weddings and marriage proposals

This list is only about weddings and proposals between Crowley and Aziraphale. I might make another list later with side characters weddings, just for fun. But for now, here you go.

Human AUs:

Courage (A Reverse Trope Story), by SpectrallyDistracted. Rated E, 30k. P. May 25.

This funny, deep, fluffy enemies to lovers human AU made me feel all the feels and ended safely on warm and fuzzy. Crowley and Aziraphale despise each other, but find themselves accompanying Maggie and Nina on holiday out of loyalty. It’s going to be a long week. Romantic and sexy, the fic explores the many ways courage can manifest, from the courage to recognise your mistakes to the courage to let yourself be vulnerable (and everything in between). Superfluffy ending.

My own fiction, Deluded, rated M, 27k. P. Apr 25.

Human AU rated M for Misunderstandings and Miscommunication (yeah, ok, and mature). Crowley agrees to go on a blind date with Aziraphale, but he doesn't really do dates. He tells as much to Aziraphale and leav... lea... leeeeeeavmmm... All right, stays, OK? I started off lighthearted, added a pinch of angst, skipped the smut, clumsily attempted some humour, and landed safely on fluff. These are literally the five themes of the five chapters.

There Was Never A Dream To Compare, by On1OccasionFork. Rated T, 3k. P, May 25.

A Sequel to Our Homeward Steps Were Just As Light, this fic touched me just as deeply. It’s no secret that I’m partial to young master Warlock, and this fic is narrated in his POV, although in a human AU version of our Ineffables. This story is tender and delicate, it exudes love in all its different forms and it just makes you want to hold on to things. And to people. And I’m not crying, YOU ARE! But dry away those tears, this story has a happy ending!

Married At First Sight, by Aracloptia. Rated T, 146k. P. Dec 23.

A new classic! I doubt anyone reading these lists might have missed this fic, but let me tell you how much I loved it anyway! As the title suggests, Aziraphale and Crowley take part in the reality Married At First Sight. It's hate at first sight for our two heroes, unfortunately, but the slow burn that follows must be one of the sweetest things I've read in fiction. Crowley and Aziraphale both come a long way to understand each other and let their guard down, and the whole process is just marvelous to witness. And, no, I've never watched a single episode of the show Married At First Sight either, you really don't need to on order to enjoy this fabulous fiction. Lovely array of side characters to top it all!

One Perfect Day by PirateFanatic. Rated T, 4k. P. Oct 23.

Canon universe story where Crowley and Aziraphale are safe. In fact, they are about to go to a wedding. As Aziraphale dresses up, Crowley moans that he doesn't want to go, but Aziraphale doesn't give him a choice. And, in the words of the writer, with good reason.

This is another absolute gem that I loved so much this month! It shows us moments in time when Aziraphale and Crowley have attended weddings. It's a mix of past, future, better times, warm feelings and happiness. Deep and beautiful. Some fictions you can clearly put it into words why you liked them, and some just speak to you at a deeper level, they just touch something inside you, and this is one of those.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the writers in this fandom return to this timeframe, this night, over and over, and that includes me.  There’s so many visions you can imagine of that night.  This is a soft, quiet one, a little breather of a night between two long days.

And they are horny. He scanned the dancing crowd to find his mark, and sure enough, there he was by the wall, not dancing or mingling, just a platinum blond head shaking slightly to express disapproval in the choice of music. He was wearing a dazzling white mask, with the sides shaped like angels’ wings, and to which a piece of wire supporting an LED halo was attached. The robe he was wearing as a custom, white with golden edges, wrapped gloriously around the soft shapes of his stomach and his bottocks while at the same time underlied the lines of muscles in his folded arms. It went all the way down to his bare calves, and he wore leather sandals at his feet. He looked utterly ridiculous.

They’ve been sitting in the backroom of the shop for hours now in companionable silence, punctuated only by the rustle of old paper as Aziraphale turns the page of what must be his third or fourth novel of the afternoon. “Could do what, angel?” Crowley drawls easily from where he’s sprawled across the sofa. He doesn’t bother sparing a glance in Aziraphale’s direction, but he can feel the angel’s eyes on him from across the table all the same. “Look like you run a bookshop.” Or: nearly a week after the apocalypse that wasn’t, Aziraphale makes a rather surprising suggestion that leads Crowley to question first his sense of style, and then his place in the world.

Written after S2 but set after S1, this adorable fiction is an account of how Crowley the menace gets the angel’s attention and -more importantly- why. Several pranks lead to fluff, confessions, and a new beginning.

One Perfect Day by PirateFanatic. Rated Teen, 4k. P. Oct 23.

Canon universe story where Crowley and Aziraphale are safe. In fact, they are about to go to a wedding. As Aziraphale dresses up, Crowley moans that he doesn't want to go, but Aziraphale doesn't give him a choice. And, in the words of the writer, with good reason.

Will You Ever Stop Surprising Me? by curiouspupsicle. Rated M, 1k. P. Aug 24.

This fiction is a little gem. Set in a hypothetical future after our heroes averted the apocalypse again, it focuses on Crowley wondering if he might ever get bored of life on earth with Aziraphale. and then spending the rest of the story trying to catch up with all the ways the angel still surprises him. In the words of the writer, this is a story about Aziraphale being sex-positive. But it's that and so much more. It's joyful, it's clever, it's funny. The characterisation is spot on. I would have loved to have more of these two in this fiction!

This is another absolute gem that I loved so much this month! It shows us moments in time when Aziraphale and Crowley have attended weddings. It's a mix of past, future, better times, warm feelings and happiness. Deep and beautiful. Some fictions you can clearly put it into words why you liked them, and some just speak to you at a deeper level, they just touch something inside you, and this is one of those.

Very few fictions manage to convey such intense feelings of sweetness and hotness alike in such a short tale as this one! Aziraphale asks Crowley if he's ever had sex and reminisces about his own solo experiences.

The Angel Tree by GoodInspirationsAD, rated T, 8k. P. Dec 24.

Post season 2 fiction with a lovely happy ending. Aziraphale is in heaven and Crowley, as heartbroken as he is, replaces him in making sure the London Hospital Angel Tree initiative has presents for all the patients. Meanwhile, Aziraphale worries that, with him in heaven, some patients will be left with no gifts, so he has to go down to earth and fulfill the patients’ wishes. Hurt, comfort, communication, intimacy, South Down cottage, AND Christmas all in one fiction, what more do you want?

Sweet account of our Ineffable ‘doing it again’. Lovely.

A Day For Magic, by Create_Serenity rated E, 3k. P. Dec 23.

I loved the vibes of this fic so much! It's sweet and lovely, with great characterisation. The loving banter and the clear affection between our Ineffables paint a heartwarming picture of how things could be once they are safe from heaven and hell.

My own little one shot, Angel! Angel! They're At It Again! Rated M, 5k. P. Aug 24.

It's the year 2030. The world never ended. Aziraphale and Crowley are living happily and safely together as a married couple. Everything would be well, if it wasn't that lately Aziraphale has been a bit busy. A bit distracted. Now, Crowley can't have that, can he? He seeks the advice of his girlfriends, who unwittingly give him an idea on how to liven up his marriage. A fluffy and hopefully funny way to the South Downs cottage.
