Advice on getting over a break up?

hii, thank you for that ask. I am not an expert on break ups, but I feel like I can say something and it's not force your feelings. I feel like when people talk about getting over a past relationship, they say it like it's a something entirely on your control. when it's not. it's your heart, or your brain chemistry if you want to get scientific. it's like grief, the pain of losing someone it's not something you can or should be fixed. It's a natural process. the best you can do is accept your feelings, realize there's nothing wrong with this, you have the right to be sad and there's no shame on that. i heard people saying you should avoid think about it, and yeah overthinking can be harmful but not giving yourself a chance is even more.

♡ something I do to deal with negative thoughts and I think people should try is writing them down, without judging, just expressing. two or three pages, it doesn't matter. and then, write a letter to yourself cheering you up, rationalizing your feelings and reminding yourself everything will be fine. it really works for me.

another little advice:

♡ You have the right to cut communication with the person and avoid them. it's not immature. it's healthy.

♡ it wasn't a failure, it's just another chapter in your life. It'll pass. It will heal.

♡ In perspective, was it really worthy? the break up was for something dumb, or for breaking boundaries? If they leaved for someone else, the new person will have the same fate. We have to recognize that our mind idolizes the past a little too much.
