honestly the whole @syscourse-block-list bs is very fucking funny to us.

our headmate Felix is a created headmate. he's just as valid as the rest of us. he's the one keeping our anxiety from eating us alive.

our headmate Blade is also created (specifically catharigenic/unintentionally created). he holds onto intrusive thoughts regarding harm and provides us company.

we also created headmates for years BEFORE we knew about plurality and CDDs. we have a CDD and have had one/showed signs since we were little. we created headmates a lot more as a little kid (I can get more into this if anyone is curious).

I'm really glad our created Crewmates exist. Most were accidental, but I wouldn't go back and undo what we did. I'd treat them better, listen to them better, believe in them better. But I wouldn't give them up for anything.

From the little twinkly sensation of them looking through our eyes with me, to the times they've switched in and almost effortlessly accomplished something I'd been putting off for ages, to the inside jokes and the puns that surprise me and make me laugh out loud, to the nights spent cuddled up together in one big mental pile, and the mornings greeting each other before we rise. They're an integral part of the life we all share, and I'm forever grateful that they exist.

so i’m currently a singlet but i’ve been super interested in plurality for years now. i want to create a headmate but all the resources i find are for creating tulpas. the way i understand tulpas and from what i’ve seen, switching or having them front isn’t really a thing and that’s what i want the most. because of this i’ve been looking into other resources to create a system but i can’t find any guidelines or tips. i’m autistic so i like straightforward strict instructions for things, and then once i get more comfortable i find my own ways to do things.

Hello anon! You've come to the right place, because I'm about to give you the beefiest resource you've ever seen.

This is the Tulpanomicon! An absolutely massive resource of different aspects of tulpamancy guides written by many many different people. It's easily the largest collection of tulpamancy information and help to exist. Browse it all to your heart's content! It has much, MUCH more than just the specifics you're currently looking for.

Honestly it's a bit of a shame that switching/possession aren't talked about in tulpa communities as much anymore. It really is a big part of it. In tulpamancy, switching and "possession" are two different things, so that might have contributed to your having trouble finding anything. Here is the beginning of the possession section, with many subsections that are full and large guides by different people, and here is the beginning of the switching section, with many more individual guides!

First, though, we would highly recommend checking out the section on parallel processing first. This is because it helps build some of the foundational skills for possession.

Once you're both prepared for something a little more challenging, try looking at the section on imposition! As far as we know, the depth of this knowledge that's been written down is completely tulpamancy-exclusive. It's based within the same psychological concept that lets some alterhumans experience phantom limbs and other things, but intentional. It's essentially learning how to trick the body's senses to your advantage, and it's really cool! We haven't even done anywhere near the full extent of it ourselves

Fun fact! Created “systems” are the anti-plurals! I feel like spreading stigmas and being the primary reason systems aren’t believed is pretty anti-plural behavior. I’d also say supporting those who do that, is also pretty anti-plural behavior.

Hi! We find nothing wrong with your question at all! Happy to answer :)

People can have multiple reasons for wanting to become plural! Loneliness is a big one, and some people just think plurality is really cool to the point of wishing they were plural, but some use it as a form of self harm (which is unfortunate, but it’s their choice. We can’t stop them if that’s what they want to do).

We suggest looking through the willomancy or created systems tag here on tumblr to get more information! We only know a little bit as we are not entirely willogenic lol

I don't know much about systems , and I would like to know more about them so I can better understand my moots ( if ur willing to explain I mean this positively )

Uhhh I myself am not a system (though have SOO many plural friends) so I will try my best.

Systems typically form from a young age due to trauma (This would be DID, OSDD, etc) that causes the brain to. Uh. Not fully form into one thought?? I think. Basically a really complex form of ptsd.

BUT. That does not mean all systems form from trauma. Some people just kind of. Are systems for no particular reason. Or they choose to be one!! With lots of brain work (AND consideration!! Most created systems don't just wake up and decide to be systems without thinking of the why's and hows).

There are many types of plurality, traumagenic, endogenic, willowgenic, etc. and even mixed origins folk!! I'm not the greatest at explaining, so I suggest asking a system if you want further info, but I hope this helped a little!!

slightly hot take based on talking to some family very close to me. IFS therapy can result in parotraumagenic systems sometimes and is another very prominent form of created systems that doesn't get talked about. So actually fearmongering abt creating headmates to help with trauma is silly and we should be writing resources to help do it in a safe and beneficial way instead

But they are. Once again I see 0 proof in your ask anon. And honestly this ask seems quite pointless as you know this wouldn't change my mind. You can't just state something and expect facts and reality to bend to your will.

Systems are multiple beings within a singular body.
