Maybe it's foolish, but I'm still hoping the red door happens in the show, if it gets renewed that is.

Even though I will absolutely sob if I have to experience losing Lanfear AGAIN, it's one of those book moments that can't and shouldn't be avoided if they still want to keep similar character arcs, for Rand especially.

Moiraine, despite missing from books 6 to 13 is present in so many other ways, the girls miss her and Rand's life gets 100 times worse by the time she's gone.

Even her warning in her letter to him about aes sedai haunts him for the rest of the books, it's so clear she has grown to genuinely care for him as a person, she's more transparent with him in that last letter than ever before. It's so special to me.

Oh and I can't forget about the Lanfear vs Rand fight beforehand (please Rafe keep that scene in as much as it was fun to see her fight it out with moiraine, Rand is her real antithesis) Rand rejecting Lanfear, saying he could and never did love her, her palpable heartbreak and cold fury at it. Rand blaming himself for Moiraine's death because he couldn't kill Lanfear, but he's also getting assaulted by flashbacks of her as Mierin and of how he (Lews) killed Ilyena, that scene is also special to me. And paired with their show dynamic I feel it would make this scene even better cause show Rand did/does love her, so comparing her to Ilyena, instead of it being a "I can't kill women" thing but a "I'm so afraid of murdering people I love, my past life has already done it once, I can't do it again no matter how right or necessary" thing instead...It hurts me just thinking about it.

Truly I feel like that was the whole turning point for the books, Rand becomes so much more ruthless and depressed and tries to dehumanise himself. Everything went to shit.

The Therapist

There's a new therapist at school.

Normally this wouldn't really bother Peter at all, since he's never gone to see a shrink in his life and doesn't ever plan on it, but there's something... off about this woman.

She seems unassuming enough at first glance. Red hair, green eyes, bright red lipstick. But there is something in her eyes, something that Peter can only describe as a predator looking at its next prey, when she looks around the school at all of the teenagers milling about. Heck, even the way she walks makes her seem as if she is a predator stalking her prey.

It could always be some kind of power move, Peter reasons. He's met people like that before, who try to intimidate everyone around them into thinking that they are superior, that they are the apex predator and anyone who dares to cross them would pay for it dearly.

But his Spidey Sense went crazy around her.

He tries to brush it off as paranoia. He'd pulled an all-nighter last night in the lab with Tony because neither of them had been able to sleep, and he hadn't been sleeping well even before that. (Funny, how it had all started the night after he first bumped into the new therapist in the halls.) So his Spidey Sense is probably out of wack because he's tired. Simple as that.

But it seems like everyone in the school is depressed. Even Ned, who can't even muster up the energy and enthusiasm to talk about Legos or Star Wars or even the weather. It worries Peter.

Because it all started when that therapist came to the school.

He can't ignore it forever, he knows that. There is only so long his Spidey Sense can tell him that she is danger danger danger before he finally listens. He has to do something to help everyone.

So he researches.

And he falls into the rabbit hole of ghosts and ectoplasm and secret government organizations and the little, unassuming town of Amity Park, Illinois.

He doesn't sleep that night.

When he comes to school the next morning, Dr. Penelope Spectra looks him dead in the eyes, and smiles.

hello to all my new followers (where did u all come from). i decided to also rewrite about 90% of the next cherry blossom chapter, which i was reluctant to do because it wasnt necessarily bad, but it was going in a really weird direction that i felt wasnt in line with what i envisioned. unfortunately that meant deleting a lot of stuff i was somewhat pleased with... grrrrrr....... but this version is much more aligned with what i wanted so i guess its fine.. kinda....

By the time Janet — Doctor Janet now, really, though the part of Carlos that spent his grad years beside her while they both ran off of caffeine and spite would never quite believe either of them had their doctorates — came into Night Vale, he'd already accepted that he had been forever altered by the town. He'd knowingly sealed his fate with that first kiss shared underneath the glowing lights above the Arby's, and hadn't ever regretted his choice. Why would he, when it had lead to the life he now lived?

He just hadn't realised how much he'd changed. He'd thrown himself recklessly in to the sands of this town in the name of science and love (which was, of course, the most scientific choice of all), casting away his preconceived notions about how the world worked, and it had reshaped his every molecule. The core of him had twisted ever so slightly to allow for a reality that now included floating cats and extreme temporal anomalies, and in doing so had made him forget that he'd ever felt any differently.
