Nursed With Kerosene Chapter One Willow World
Here it is! The first part of my serial novel, Nursed With Kerosene. This is the result of so much hard work. It's a story I've been wanting to tell for awhile, with a core cast of characters I first created as a child and many more I've created over the last few years. It's 79 pages long but it would mean the world to me if you read it and enjoy it. I really can't tell you how much this work means to me.
To give a brief description, Nursed With Kerosene is about praxis, love, rage, friendship, compassion, humanity, horror, lesbians, capitalism, psychosis, faith, therapy, music, understanding, swords, parenting, ninja, and a lot of other things.
To give a somewhat less brief description, Nursed With Kerosene is influenced a lot by the structure of TV shows like Angel and The Librarians, featuring a team of supernatural problem-solvers dealing with things no one else can. There is also more than a dash of anime in there, because I'm a shameless weeb. My ideal medium would be a series of Newground animations in 2006.
Nursed With Kerosene is part of my setting Memoirs to Prove the Existence of the Devil. The only other released MtPtEotD story is my previously published short story Six Underground, but it actually takes place long after NWK. Having said that, like a Soulsborne, a large part of NWK is going to be slowly unraveling things. You're not intended to understand everything. Names and events and concepts get mentioned, and you don't get it, and that's the intended experience. Hopefully you feel like you want to learn more.
Memoirs to Prove the Existence of the Devil is an adaption of the Cthulhu Mythos, as well as several stories in it's orbit not nearly as remembered as the works of Lovecraft, such as Algernon Blackwood's work. I really mine the shit out of the public domain, ngl. The journey I've taken through obscure late 19th and early 20th century literature is worthy of a non-fiction book all of it's own, and I may write that someday as well.

Malmsjo (2006) has researched the most appropriate methodology for designing of supportive information systems. In general use, there are two kinds of information systems, supportive and operative. The paper examines the difference in the two systems and their elements. A different phase of the methodology that was used in the design of the support system has been discussed and the conditions for designing both supportive and operative systems have been discussed. Malmsjo (p. 881-882) first speaks of hard and soft information systems view and while a hard view approach takes an objective view of the world with a formalized reasoning process, the soft view gives importance to the individual and subjective views of the world. The author further clarifies that information is a definition of the specification of information and should have qualities such as pertinence, evidence, consistency, and exhortations. Malmsjo further defines information system as "a system where the units and components are information entities or processes that are involved in information processes" (Malmsjo, p. 883).Coming to the main area of the paper, the author brings up the operative and supportive information systems. Operative information can best be illustrated by using the case of a travel agency. The system cannot function unless it is fed with information and data about the customer and the mode of transport. Examples of operative data and information include passenger names, departure routes and times, places and destination, transport mode and so on. It would be seen that operative information is specific to a transaction and cannot be found elsewhere (Malmsjo, p. 884).Supportive information systems can help the user in the effort to obtain more information and may be used to make a further decision. The purpose of the user's information need would be to solve a certain problem or to obtain knowledge about a specific area. In the previous example of the travel agency, supportive information would come when information about which routes, time and schedules are more preferred, where the agency makes profits, which are the poorly functioning units and so on. So, the purpose and intent of supportive information are not very evident and clear and it is used more as a diagnostic tool that would help in strategic planning. The operative information would, on the other hand, give information for day to day transactions (Malmsjo, p. 884-885).Coming to designing the methodology for the supportive information systems (Malmsjo, p. 888-897) says that there are a number of aspects that have to be considered and one of them is the nature of reality that would be attacked by a designer or problem solver and how the reality would be understood. A hard and soft approach can be used and the characterization is done with ontological and epistemological considerations. Read the full article

The last time I went on a date was 2020 and prior to that it was 2006…
Ive had men in my life during these years but none of them ever took me out. None of them ever came and picked me up and took me on a date and that’s sad AF now that I think about it. However, I only have myself to blame for accepting it. I chose to accept mediocrity. I chose to accept the bare minimum. And I chose men that I felt needed me and forced me to be in my masculine energy. I was the provider. I was the problem solver. I was the stable and logical one.
Well, I’m over that now. I deserve a partner who will give me what I truly desire. I wanna get cute, be taken out and fucked. Simple 😂🤷🏽♀️

Air Chathams' carbon offset journey with TTI and CarbonClick

Integrated voluntary flight offsetting
About Air Chathams Proudly New Zealand-owned and operated. Flying over the skies of New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific, including Whakatāne, Kāpiti Coast, Whanganui, Wellington, Christchurch, Chatham Islands and Norfolk Island. Air Chathams was founded with a simple objective: to offer aviation solutions for a remote, isolated island community so they could further develop into the thriving economy we see today. They are a customer-focused and solution-orientated airline, who thrive on being innovative problem solvers, that deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable outcomes for the many communities throughout Aotearoa and the Pacific that they serve.
About TTI (Travel Technology Interactive) Travel Technology Interactive is an international and leading technology company listed on EURONEXT Growth in Paris, has been an AMADEUS IT GROUP worldwide business partner since 2005, and has also been recognized as an IATA Simplifying the Business (StB) Preferred Partner since 2006. TTI provides seamless cloudification for end-to-end Passenger Service Systems (PSS) and Cargo Management Systems (CMS) for the transportation industry. Headquartered in France, TTI offices are located worldwide: in Brazil, Singapore, and Panama.
The challenge Air Chathams set out on a mission to shrink their carbon footprint across all facets of their operations. They were eager to involve their customers in this quest and aimed to have 30% of passengers choosing to offset their carbon emissions when booking flights by May 2025.
To reach this ambitious target, they needed a solution that seamlessly integrated into their booking system, which is managed by Passenger Service System (PSS) provider Travel Technology Interactive (TTI). Close collaboration among Air Chathams, TTI, and CarbonClick was essential to create a simple, user-friendly, and integrated solution.
The solution CarbonClick and TTI joined forces to pioneer the very first end-to-end carbon offset Internet Booking Engine (IBE) solution that is fully integrated into a single PSS. Working closely with Air Chathams, CarbonClick ensured the service's visual and tonal alignment with their booking process, as an integral part of ancillary offerings.
When booking a flight, passengers now have the option to calculate their carbon footprint and learn how their decision to offset emissions contributes to making a positive impact on the planet and society. Every contribution is directly and instantly traceable to the climate projects it supports, providing passengers with a clear and immediate understanding of their positive impact.
The cost of the offset is displayed as a separate line item in the total booking cost.
The outcome Traditionally, the extensive time and expense required for such an integrated solution deterred many airlines from implementing similar programmes. As a result, only a handful of global carriers have adopted end-to-end integrated initiatives to date.
The partnership between TTI and CarbonClick empowers all of TTI's airline clients to seamlessly implement the solution and incorporate it into their passenger booking systems in just a matter of days. Air Chathams proudly became the first TTI customer to adopt this innovative carbon offset solution.
Air Chathams customers not only can easily add the carbon offset ancillary when booking online, but TTI and CarbonClick ensured that their reservations team were able to easily add the carbon offset to their customers bookings over the phone or email too, via the backend of TTI. This was an important element for Air Chathams as their customers highly value the ability to talk to a real-life person to make a reservation.
Why Air Chathams chose to work with CarbonClick “CarbonClick’s project range and quality appealed to us. They could offer us a local project to include into our mix, and their rigorous selection methodology assured us of the quality of the projects. With Air Chathams being the first TTI airline to integrate the solution into our booking system, we found CarbonClick to be very flexible to accommodate our needs and requirements. Another benefit was that CarbonClick provided us with a templated supporting webpage which we could set up within minutes. This webpage helps tell our sustainability story and engage our customers in offsetting at any stage. We are also related to CarbonClick due to being a fellow New Zealand business.” Estelle Bray-Taylor, Marketing and Communications Advisor, Air Chathams
“At Air Chathams we recognise our role within aviation to mitigate our climate footprint internally and in the communities, we do business with, for the long-term. That is why partnering with CarbonClick enables us to deliver simple and transparent carbon offsetting options for our customers. New Zealanders of all ages are aware of climate change and its adverse effects. So, collaborating and working with CarbonClick empowers the Airline to offer verified off-setting projects through our online booking system. It’s a simple and intuitive process to offset carbon emissions when purchasing flights through our website and follow the progression of meaningful and transparent carbon offsetting projects both home and abroad on CarbonClick’s digital platform. CarbonClick and Air Chathams share the same origins in Aotearoa and a joint ethos to effectively reduce greenhouse gas in the atmosphere and long may it this partnership continue.” Duane Emeny, Chief Operating Officer, Air Chathams

A thoughtful commentary by Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT-04).
Among other things, he decries bothsiderism and whataboutism.
He challenges readers who are concerned about the current state of affairs to get involved in state and local government.
[T]here is no better way to be a participant in our experiment in self-government than to actually get involved in it. Even if you're not thrilled by the details of school budgets or suburban zoning, the act of working with others on those things is an education that money can't buy. I've noticed that it is much easier to work in the Congress with colleagues who were mayors or governors, people who actually had to run police forces, organize garbage collection and get real things done in their communities.
When you have to act as a problem-solver on almost a day-to-day basis you get a better feel for the electorate. That gives you greater empathy for constituents if you make it to Capitol Hill.
It’s also true that many major reforms first begin at the state level and then gradually spread across the country. Massachusetts instituted a predecessor of Obamacare in 2006. Illinois became the first state to abolish its sodomy laws in 1962. New York became the first state to legalize abortion in 1970.
To continue the process of change in America, run for local or state office. Most states have elections for state legislature in 2022. And in a majority of states the minimum age to serve in at least one chamber of the legislature is 21; it’s 18 in a few states; and Ohio, Vermont, and North Dakota don’t seem to have a minimum age. Gifted and talented programs have been the target of criticism ever since the concept took hold in the 1970s as huge demographic changes were transforming urban school districts. White, middle-class families were fleeing to the suburbs. Like magnet schools, accelerated programs for gifted students were attractive to many of these families and provided a way to counteract this flight and maintain diversity in city school systems. The problem was that gifted programs tended to foster racial separation inside schools, undermining the very goal they were supposed to support.
Today, gifted programs still tend to separate students by race. New York City is a case in point. There, the education department has been struggling for years to change the demographic makeup of its gifted program—which is disproportionately white and Asian—and spread access to a more representative group of students. There are a handful of open-enrollment gifted schools in the city, but the district’s efforts at increasing diversity in the bulk of gifted and talented classrooms have largely backfired.
Back in 2006, a quarter of students in New York City gifted classrooms were white, although white students made up only 15 percent of the student population. The district attempted to level the playing field by eliminating a subjective system in which teachers and preschools played a major role in deciding which students were identified as gifted. From then on, students across the city would have to take the same two tests. Decisions about who made it in would be centralized. The hope was that using more objective measures would expand access and prevent in-the-know parents from gaming the system.
But relying on tests produced the opposite effect. Middle-class parents frantically prepped their four-year-olds for testing. This year, 70 percent of students identified as gifted in the city are white or Asian, up from 68 percent last year, while just over a quarter are black or Hispanic.
In 2006, before it changed the admissions system, New York City opened 15 new gifted and talented programs to serve more minority children, bringing the number of schools with the programs to more than 200, according to officials at the time. By 2009, many of those programs had been shuttered. There were only about 140 schools with gifted classrooms that year. This year, there are just 88. The neighborhoods that lost gifted and talented programs tended to be those with high concentrations of blacks and Hispanics: Bedford-Stuyvesant, East New York, Flatbush, Washington Heights.
Asked about the changes, department officials said they have actually increased the number of gifted and talented seats in recent years to meet growing demand. Given the decrease in the number of schools offering the program and the declining percentage of minorities in the program, it follows that the new seats are probably concentrated in just a few schools, many of them in affluent areas. So the question is, should they keep expanding the program? As a recent New York Times article noted, “The accelerated classrooms serve as pipelines to the city’s highest-achievement middle schools and high schools, creating a cycle in which students who start out ahead get even further advantages from the city’s schools.” In places like the D.C. suburbs, gifted and talented programs have the same dynamic.
Proponents of gifted education argue vigorously against doing away with it entirely. “There’s nothing worse than having a bright, talented child just sitting,” says Joan Franklin Smutny, director of the Center for Gifted, a nonprofit based in a Chicago suburb. “They need to be challenged. They need to be inspired.”
Joseph Renzulli, director of the National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented at University of Connecticut, agrees with Smutny: “The biggest problem with bright kids in urban schools besides being picked on, is they are dying from boredom. The longer they stay in school, the lower their scores become.”
Supporting their argument is a 2011 study of high-achieving children by the Thomas B. Fordham Institute, a conservative think tank. It found that many such students lose ground over time, prompting the researchers to worry that “closing achievement gaps and ‘leaving no child behind’ [are] coming at the expense of our ‘talented tenth’—and America’s future international competitiveness.”
The racial disparities are “a great shame, of course,” wrote Chester Finn, the president of Fordham, in a recent blog post, “but it’s not exactly a surprise that more affluent kids are likelier to end up in gifted programs. Their families don’t face the stress of poverty, and they tend to have two parents who read to their children, send them to preschool, etc.”
Determining whether a child is actually more intelligent than her peers or whether she’s just the product of more affluent, ambitious parents is a difficult task for school systems interested in breaking the cycle of privilege that gifted education tends to fuel. Experts caution against relying heavily on tests, as New York does, but there are no national or even state standards defining giftedness, according to the National Society for the Gifted and Talented, an advocacy group.
The society suggests that parents and teachers check a list of traits, including whether children are “perfectionist and idealistic,” “asynchronous,” meaning they develop unevenly, or “problem solvers.” Smutny says teachers should be trained to look for a different set of characteristics, such as creativity, well-developed imaginations, and curiosity, which she says are correlated with above-average intelligence. They must also be trained to “cut through” stereotypes, she says, so that talented children who are also poor or from a racial minority are not overlooked.
Is there a better way to provide education for gifted children without exacerbating racial inequities? Officials in the Washington, D.C. public schools believe they’ve found a possible answer. This year, for the first time in more than a decade, the D.C. schools have reintroduced gifted education. The decision comes as many city neighborhoods are experiencing a surge of new middle-class, white families, and one reason for the reintroduction of gifted classes is to entice more of them to choose public, not private, schools. The district opened one gifted program in a middle school near the affluent blocks around Georgetown University.
But it also opened one at Kelly Miller in Ward 7, a majority low-income, African-American middle school, and at West Education Campus, in the 16th Street Heights neighborhood, where there is a small but growing population of Hispanic immigrants mixing with the predominantly black population.
Unlike traditional gifted programs, which usually require a test to get in, the D.C. programs are open to any student who wants to enroll. D.C. is aiming the program both at students who are book smart and those who may struggle on traditional measures of achievement but have other extraordinary talents that are harder to measure with a test. The plan is to “build up the gifts they have rather than just focus on their weaknesses,” said Matthew Reif, the district’s director of advanced and enriched instruction.
The principal at Kelly Miller, Abdullah Zaki, explains that the idea is to expand the concept of giftedness. “If there’s a kid who is not reading at grade level but has the gift of gab and can argue you down in a heartbeat, they’re obviously interested in debate,” he says. “We can take their natural gift and talent and hone and polish it.” Working on the skill the student enjoys and is good at might improve other skills that don’t come as naturally—analysis, reading of complex texts, etc., adds Zaki.
Administrators want to reach students who have the potential to excel at school but who haven’t been given the chance to demonstrate their gifts. But there’s another goal, too. “One thing we have learned,” said Reif, is that relying exclusively on tests to identify gifted students “often disproportionately identifies white and Asian students, and that leads to equity issues.”
The open-door policy D.C. has embraced may offer a way around the dilemma of identifying gifted children. “The bias should be to let students who want to try these classes try them,” said Gary Orfield, a political scientist at UCLA who has advocated for more racial integration in schools. “There should be a very explicit commitment to race and class diversity and targeted recruitment to make it happen.”
But simply allowing all comers to participate in gifted education doesn’t erase its problems. When Kelly Miller Middle School in Ward 7 launched its gifted program last fall, principal Abdullah Zaki says he “thought it would be a big clamor throughout our community—parents rushing to get their kids into our building. That didn’t happen the way I wanted.”
Convincing the African-American families in Kelly Miller’s neighborhood to enroll their children has been a challenge, partly because for many the term “gifted and talented” was a foreign concept, Zaki says. He’s taken to using synonyms like “honors” to persuade parents to take an interest, even if it doesn’t quite capture what the school is trying to offer students.
In addition, placing students with a wide range of abilities together is a difficult undertaking for teachers. It takes tremendous skill to create lesson plans that will challenge high-achieving students while not leaving others behind—one reason gifted programs were created in the first place. D.C. has hired three specialized teachers to lead the gifted programs at each of the middle schools with the program. They spend time each week with small groups of students working on projects tailored to the group’s talents and interests. But the specialized teachers’ time is divided among all of the classrooms in the school. And Kelly Miller is also offering a more traditional version of gifted education, with a track of accelerated math and literacy courses for students who score well in those subjects.
The ”schoolwide enrichment model,” as it’s called, has had some success elsewhere, but there’s no data yet to show how the schools are doing. D.C. officials say they’re watching the experiment closely and will look at test scores and teacher, parent, and student responses, and other measures at the end of the year.
The D.C. model may end up being a watered-down version of gifted and talented education that can’t match the more exclusive programs found in New York and other places. But it’s also much fairer, and it may also be a more effective way to reach the students with true innate talent. The Fordham study’s other major finding was that a large number of children are “late bloomers,” whose abilities appear only later in their school careers. At Kelly Miller, Zaki says the whole point is to identify these students—the ones with potential and talent who have so far been overlooked, possibly because of their race or class. “That’s the excellent thing about it,” he said. “These kids exist.”

Power Weapon.
Change to apply bleed effects.
Problem solver is considered an iconic weapon, but unfortunately, this doesn’t have any iconic features. It deals great damage in mid-range and also applies the bleed effect on enemies.
Yinglong
Smart Weapon.
Put electrical damage and shock its enemies.
Iconic: Get bonus electrical damage.
Yinglong is a powerful smart weapon that everyone should carry. It fires plenty of bullets, but some of them miss the spot too. Its electrical damage deals incredible damage, and lower the enemy’s attack and stun them for a few seconds.
Prototype Shingen: Mark V
Smart Weapon
Fire explosives rounds.
Iconic: Can aim on three enemies at once.
Prototype Shingen: Mark V is also a smart weapon with an iconic ability. This weapon has its own identity in the game because its explosive bullets blow the enemies instantly. It also shoots three enemies at once, which is a good thing.
Buzzsaw
Power Weapon.
Iconic: It can even destroy the light covers.
Buzzsaw isn’t among the smartest choices, but players love it because of its iconic ability. Its iconic ability is that its bullets can easily penetrate the light covers. So if a wielder knows the enemy’s location, they can use the iconic ability to shoot the enemy through the covers.
Fenrir
Power Weapon.
Deals thermal damage and chance to apply burn effects.
High recoil.
Iconic: Improves bullet impact and lowers the bullet spread.
Fenrir has a serious recoil problem, but its bullet power allows the players to strike back. Because of its serious bullet damage and thermal damage, it offers the chance of firing frequently and dealing heavy damage.
Conclusion
These all are among the most preferred submachine guns of the game. Indeed, some of the listed weapons are not entirely safe during the battle, but things are different with Buzzsaw and Yinglong. Both of these weapons are highly admirable by fans and always their primary and secondary option in battle. To acquire these weapons, players must play mainline missions and side jobs.

Beating Illegal Wildlife Trade tests our resolve to save the Earth
By: The Duke of Cambridge and Lord William Hague
Over recent years the degradation of our natural environment has rightly climbed the public agenda. As Sir David Attenborough warned last week, “the moment of crisis has come”. Our collective efforts are urgently needed to maintain the world as we know it: we must move away from the prevailing blend of pessimistic fatalism to one of optimism and action. Over the new year, The Earthshot Prize was announced to help do just that. Its aim is to inspire Earth’s greatest problem-solvers to solve Earth’s greatest problems.
But unlike so many of the challenges to achieving more sustainable living across the world – for which innovation and invention is clearly required – we already have the solutions to one vital aspect.
Five years ago, we identified the illegal wildlife trade (IWT) as conservation’s “elephant in the room”. As the fourth most profitable criminal global enterprise in the world, trading everything from rhino horns to pangolin scales, it continues to deplete our most precious wildlife.
Given its links to corruption and the trafficking of arms, narcotics, people, and even terrorist financing, IWT is unquestionably an intolerable crime, for both its conservation and human consequences. The criminals who plunder the world’s natural resources are also trapping its most vulnerable communities in poverty, denying future generations the right to economic and social development.
That is why, in 2014, we formed a Transport Task Force, to engage the transport sector in identifying and developing solutions to wildlife trafficking. In 2018, we broadened that work to include the financial sector because for every wildlife product sourced illegally, money changes hands.
This is beginning to have a material impact. Task force members have been integral to more than 70 law-enforcement investigations, the interdiction of 108 shipments (with a fourteen-fold increase last year), as well as arrests of 18 prolific traffickers, and the disruption of a major ivory, rhino horn, and heroin syndicate in East Africa.
In both Africa and Asia new regional centres of expertise have been created, bringing together local members to collaborate on specific initiatives, share intelligence and tailor good practice. Consumer awareness campaigns have reached millions, while tens of thousands of employees have been trained to detect and report signs of the trade, whether at ports and airports, or the cashier desks of banks. It is now considered business as usual for transport companies to track down illegal wildlife products in their cargo and for banks to investigate and freeze the assets of the perpetrators.
The Financial Task Force has created categorisations for use within existing compliance frameworks and is developing new methodologies to identify suspicious transactions. In the Transport Task Force, systems for the automatic screening and detection of illicit shipments, employing machine-learning algorithms, are being trialled and the mechanisms for sharing data with enforcement authorities developed.
But now is not the time to sit back and celebrate our success. The stark fact remains that 60 per cent of the world’s wildlife has been lost in the past 50 years and the process is accelerating, not just through destruction of habitat but under increasing pressure from this evil trade. Killings of rhinos occur at a rate of four a day, 24 times that in 2006.
We must redouble our efforts, and apply the lessons of the past five years.
First, that we cannot seize or arrest our way out of this problem. Instead, we must close down markets – already achieved by several countries for ivory – while also reducing the demand for such products through wholesale attitudinal changes to wildlife.
Second, that IWT’s convergence with so many other criminal activities is not only further justification for its eradication but can also serve to motivate co-operation with some of the world’s most effective law enforcement agencies, such as the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
Third, that things are improving: we have engaged with countless individuals and companies genuinely committed to doing their part to counter IWT and find that their words are increasingly backed by the everyday deeds of their business practices.
Fourth, that public-private co-operation is not just possible but vital. Law enforcement has acknowledged the contributions of business and is embracing these new relationships.
Fifth, and most importantly, that despite these efforts, the scale and immediacy of the threat to wildlife is far greater than can be addressed by the actions of even such a committed and active coalition.
So on Tuesday we convened United for Wildlife’s joint task forces in London, alongside the Government’s Africa Investment Summit.
We set a new three-year goal to mount the most intensive campaign yet to mobilise business, with the ambition of making it impossible to use private-sector infrastructure to facilitate the financing and transportation of IWT products with impunity.
This can only be achieved through a step-change in the adoption of measures being developed within established business practice.
IWT commitments are already being incorporated within transport accreditation frameworks such as the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which has transcribed United for Wildlife’s commitments into its Environmental Assessment Programme.
They can also be used to complement existing regulatory regimes, such as making countering IWT a focus for the Chinese presidency of the OECD’s Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which recently convened its members in Beijing to start developing assessment criteria for use across its 205 jurisdictions.
Finally, making real change will involve amplifying consumers and investors’ growing insistence that business also fulfils a social purpose, so as to entrench a shared determination to root out this crime.
This year has the potential to generate much-needed momentum on wider environmental recovery (not least the UN’s summits on Biological Diversity and Climate Change). But unless we fail to galvanise both business and the public, 2020 risks becoming another missed opportunity – which for some of the most iconic species may be their last.
Their destruction cannot be allowed. They can be saved and working with others we are going to do it. We must all act – united and with great urgency – because defeating the illegal wildlife trade is not just a pressing challenge for conservationists, but a fundamental test of humanity’s resolve to save the Earth.

Fav to least fav winx although no one asked
I’m making this while waiting for my zoom class to start ✌🏻
1. Tecna

I always had unpopular opinions and this was probably my very first one since i remember everyone hated Tecna back in the days (i mean like 2004/2006). I firstly started liking her because when i was 5 i cut my hair very short 😂 but eventually i also liked her personality as well, watching the show nowadays she’s definitely still my favorite.
We are basically the opposite lol and i tend to seek people like her in real life, i admire her ability to be always logical, even detatched and to be a problem-solver. Literally people if it wasn’t for Tecna the winx would have had so much more difficulties omg
She’s also so sarcastic (especially in the very first seasons) and i love sarcastic people. Also i loved her character development, she learn how to show affection and let herself go sometimes.
2. Stella

Yeah i know she can be annoying, and nick made this worse (btw i’ll base my judgements only on seasons 1-3 before all the characters were drained of life), but i can’t help but still love her 😂
She’s the one i feel closest to, we are both pretty loud, sometimes we say dumb stuff without thinking, we both like to cheer others up and make jokes when things get tense.
I admire her confidence (which is something i lack) and her optimism, her character development throughout the first 3 seasons was amazing, from when she opened up to Aisha in season 2, to when she understood that people don’t just love her because of her look and we saw her most vulnerable side.
3. Aisha/Layla
(Her and Stella are almost tie, is hard for me to pick)

One of the reasons why season 2 is my #1 favorite is because we get introduced to Aisha! Imo she brings so much to the group!
She’s the best written and most complete character in my opinion, when i was a child i didn’t like her because i thought she was too serious (as you can probably tell i’m a clown and i didn’t take anything seriously when i was little -.-), but watching the show now as a “ mature “ adult i completely changed my opinion and i love her.
I like seeing the contrast between Stella’s childhood (= i’m a princess i can have everything i want) and Aisha’s who felt pressured to be a perfect princess and struggled with loneliness.
She’s so selfless, has high morals, she’s smart and she’s like the only one who has practical skills lol
Also I think the show needs to give her a break because she has gone through so much
4. Musa

She was my very first favorite because my as a kid red was my favorite color 🙃 i also loved (and still love!) her tomboyish style and design in general!
Like Aisha, she’s a very complex character, she seems tough as first but she’s actually extremely sensitive and emotional. Her backstory makes me cry all the times :(
I’m just so bothered that she lost her tomboyish look and temper, i still like her know but she seems a lot more... bland?
Anyway i don’t have much to say but i love Musa haha
5. Flora

I feel she’s like the most popular where i live haha
Okay i would love to have a Flora in my life okay? She’s incredibly sweet and caring, she’s like the mom friend who makes sure everyone has eaten 🥺
The reason she’s my number 5 is that in my opinion she doesn’t have much personality compared to the other girls, her role seems to be that of the peacemaker of the group, which is fine!! But i like a character to show some flaws and “dark sides” as well!
Also it annoys me so much when everybody is dying and she’s like “we can’t attack this monster!!!”, like c’mon girl sometimes kicking enemies ass can feel awesome!
6. Bloom

Okay first of all i want to specify that i’m not one of those people who hate Bloom because she gets all the attention! I don’t mind her and as i said i’m considering the first 3 seasons only and back then it wasn’t really all about Bloom.
Fun fact: i have never favoured the main character of a show because I didn’t want to be mainstream
I simply don’t like anthing particularly about Bloom, i dont dislike anything about her neither.. see i’m just neutral i guess, i think she’s supposed to represent the ordinary teenager everyone can relate to, but i don’t relate to her much so i just see her as kinda ... normal? That’s the only reason why she’s my number 6.

Why You Must Fail In Business In Order To Succeed
I've noticed that we're now living in a"give it to me now" world. You have into a fast food restaurant and the only thing that takes any time at all is parking the vehicle. If we can have it yesterday, we would take it. The issue is, when it comes to running a home business, you can not have it all at once or right away. And you can not do 10 things at the same time. I know it's frustrating, but it is a reality of life that one has to get used to. Business advisers are considered as problem solvers. They consider a problem from every aspect, develop a plan to fix the problem and then put that plan into motion. This is one of the most beneficial Business Consulting providers on the market. Problems that occur in a company that go ignored or place on the back burner could be fatal to a company. Little problems can become big problems in no time. Sometimes the operator or manager of a business lacks time, and this prevents them from being able to concentrate on the matters at hand. Someone can only be in 1 location at one time, and new business consultant a consultant can help free up the owner or manager. This will enable them to be able to concentrate on other things that keep the company going. Have you heard the expression, the client is always right? I have some training clients who operate retail operations and it is said that they train their staff to give 110 percent when it comes to customer support. Satisfied customers deliver additional revenue in the form of return business and referrals. However, dissatisfied customers can do plenty of harm by spreading the word about your poor support. See the long-term value of happy customers and do everything in your power to make this a high priority. Without customers, you don't have any revenue! You might have to pay a proportion of advertising costs and not merely for your area. This might include local, regional, or even nationwide costs. Again, consult an Austin Business Consultant. Make the most of the help that Texas new business consultant coaches can give for you to help you make the wise choice. Small businesses have a tendency toward bureaucracy, stultifying procedures and internal politics just as much as big companies. However, the lesser size of the company makes the failings much less complex to recognize and to cure. However, no company, whatever the dimensions, is fault-free. But honing your Business Management skills along the lines of IT BECAME FAST will see your business moving in the right direction. Business writing. Not everyone can write; especially those technical and formal reports and letters. This is why teaching others to do that can earn you a decent income for sure. In fact with lack luster attitudes someone might end up drowning and you better hope it isn't because your whole ship sank. Business Management is essential and you need to be sure you have a happy human team on your side of the net if you want to win games and get into the playoffs. Consider all this in 2006.

Miocorvus larteti

By Ripley Cook
Etymology: Miocene Raven
First Described By: Milne-Edwards, 1871
Classification: Dinosauromorpha, Dinosauriformes, Dracohors, Dinosauria, Saurischia, Eusaurischia, Theropoda, Neotheropoda, Averostra, Tetanurae, Orionides, Avetheropoda, Coelurosauria, Tyrannoraptora, Maniraptoriformes, Maniraptora, Pennaraptora, Paraves, Eumaniraptora, Averaptora, Avialae, Euavialae, Avebrevicauda, Pygostylia, Ornithothoraces, Euornithes, Ornithuromorpha, Ornithurae, Neornithes, Neognathae, Neoaves, Australaves, Psittacopasserae, Passeriformes, Eupasseres, Passeri, Euoscines, Corvides, Corvoidea, Corvidae
Status: Extinct
Time and Place: Between 13.7 and 3.2 million years ago, in the Serravallian to the Piacenzian ages of the Miocene through the Pliocene
Miocorvus is known from the Sansan, Tasad, Credinta, Polgárdi 4, and Csarnóta 1 sites in France, Romania, and Hungary
Physical Description: Miocorvus was a small perching bird and probably the earliest representation known of a Corvid - the group of birds including jays, magpies, nutcrackers, and crows. Being the earliest member, and only known from certain bone scraps, it is difficult to tell what sort of Corvid it was - but it is probably just a general member of the group, as this is literally when they appear to have diverged from other songbirds. It was a fairly slender bird in terms of its feet, so it’s unlikely that it had the same robust foot morphology of the large crows and ravens. In terms of size, it was similar in size to the Azure-Winged Magpie, so probably no longer than 35 centimeters in length.
Diet: Like other Corvids, Miocorvus probably fed on a wide variety of things, being an intelligent opportunist.
Behavior: Little is known about the behavior of Miocorvus, though it is reasonable to suppose it would have behaved much as living corvids do. As such, it would have been a tree-dwelling opportunist, finding food wherever it could and seeking it out from the oddest of places. It doesn’t seem likely it would have used tools, as that is not a universal behavior of corvids, but it is possible. It probably lived in small family groups or flocks, rather than large flocks, and it may have even been a loner. It probably took care of its young. Miocorvus would definitely have been something of a problem solver, like its modern relatives.

By José Carlos Cortés
Ecosystem: Europe during the Neogene was vastly different from its rainforest days of the Paleogene, though of course many forests were still present. This was a land of deciduous forest, rather than coniferous, though some conifers were of course still present. Rivers, ponds, and streams flooded the land. Grasslands did not spread into the continent, and indeed, no fossil remains of grass are known from Europe at this time at all, so Miocorvus spent its time among the trees. Other birds were plentiful here, and included diving ducks, the duck Mionetta, owls, shorebirds, other songbirds, more ducks, falcons, ratites, chickens, relatives of the living Shoebill, storks, loons, and rails. This was a world that resembled - but was still a ways off - from our own, and it resembled it accordingl.
Other: Miocorvus is the earliest known example of a Corvid, allowing us to place the divergence of this unique group of birds at sometime in the middle to early Miocene; and, indeed, Miocorvus looks vaguely like what we’d expect a general corvid/ancestral corvid to look like. Beyond that, however, we know little about the origin or push for diversification for this group.

i saw your post and was curious, what other japanese dramas do you enjoy? any personal faves you would recommend? ^^
heya ^^ oh my, dear anon. you opened the box of the pandora. because even though i’ll just give you the list on top of my head this is going to be long orz
my favourite drama can be sorted in the following categories:
- ridiculous school drama (with occasional dash of romance) which i watched mostly in middleschool & highschool ®- slice of life drama with amazing houses, roommate shenanigans (S)- detective & crime drama with the occasional supernatural twist ©
(I will put a “holds up!” next to some older series which i’ve rewatched that are still great despite their age!)
. Gokusen, 2002 ®: the classic high-school delinquents meet a strong teacher and start to show their vulnerable side story. trope galore but it never gets old to see Yukie Nakama as Yankumi, grand-daughter of a Yakuza family beating the shit out of people. → holds up!
. Manhattan Love Story, 2003 (S): a gentleman of a barista starts to meddle in his customers lives so that they’ll finally get the time to appreciate his coffee. → holds up!
. Hana Yori Dango, 2005 (R): the classic. some parts are icky regarding the bullying but the most down-to-earth rendition of all the versions. → holds somewhat up!
. Kurosagi, 2006 (C): a swindler who swindles swindlers. besides the notorious Yamashita Tomohisa one of my favourite actors in his now 80s Yamazaki Tsutomu delivers a shakespearean performance. don’t remember much, only that Yamazaki Tsutomu is glorious.
. My Boss! My Hero!, 2006 (R:) a 27 year old yakuza heir has to go back and finish high school. some weird age-gap thing going on but it is freaking hilarious (the infamous pudding run scene). me and my friends are still singing the ending song during karaoke.
. Nodame Cantabile, 2006 ®: hilarious rom-com set in a music college
. Hotaru no Hikari, 2007 (S): the love story is not that important (even though I love the main female character) because the real star of the series is the house!
. Bloody Monday, 2008 ©: gruesome crime series with college kids helping in an investigation. Michiko Kichise as one of the policewomen is brilliant. i have a crush on her. Hiroki Narimiya is very hot in this, my bi heart is happy.
. Love Shuffle, 2009 (S/R) - 4 people living on the same floor of an apartment complex decide to swap partners “for science”. stellar cast with my crush Karina, Shota Matsuda and more. rare occurrence of a well written gay main character, Shosuke Tanihara is great in this. tw: one plotline starts very dark, featuring themes of depression & suicidal thoughts → holds up!
. BOSS, 2009 ©: not only does this drama have Michiko Kichise (s.o.) but it is headlined by Yuki Amami. my favourite female character in jdrama land. she is strong, intelligent, weird af, slightly older than the average jdrama heroine, has platonic friendships with very hot guys and is herself very hot. one gay side-character who is sadly written underwhelmingly. → holds up!
. MR.BRAIN, 2009 ©: neurologists gets added to a major crime devision. the science in this doesn’t hold up but the cases are pretty rad (especially the piano one, episode 4 I think?) → holds up!
. Otomen, 2009 ®: guy who enjoys female coded hobbies such as knitting and playing with dolls tries to keep up a manly facade in school. some nonsense but I still live for Asuka Masamune’s “female” side. sadly a gay sub-plotline that doesn’t get handled well.
. Tumbling, 2010 ®: bad boy & high-school delinquent Wataru Azuma (Yusuke Yamamoto) joins the male rhythmic gymnastic team of his school to impress his crush on the women’s team and to appease his teachers. discusses toxic masculinity in a great way and has a really good gay subplot (with Daito Shunsuke) (if i recall everything correctly). the cast actually learned rhythmic gymnastics for this and this level of care & passion shows. → holds up!
. Atami no Sousakan, 2010 ©: maybe my favourite japanese drama ever. with the brilliant Odagiri Joe & Chiaki Kuriyama who play two detectives that get send to the small town of Minami-Atami to support the local police in a mysterious case of a vanishing school bus when some of the missing school girls return to town. turns out that the case is weird but the town and its people are even weirder. (i have hardly laughed so hard when watching a tv series) → fucking holds up!
. Asuko March, 2011 ®: due to bad grades Nao Yoshino has to enter a technical highschool and finds herself surrounded by only boys. the romantic plot is average but some great plotlines about emancipation and femininity. and Emi Takei in a working overall handling tools = <3
. Arakawa Under The Bridge, 2011 (idek what genre this is): this drama is just weird af and for that sole reason worth a watch. the soundtrack is also great.
. Ouran Highschool Host Club, 2011 ®: this drama is pure camp, allures to some incesty/gay plotlines that are really not great when you think about it but its one of the best manga adaptations I know and just pure hilarity. also: Yusuke Yamamote is made for slapstick.
. Watashi ga Renai dekinai Riyuu, 2011 (S): again featuring my love Karina as a tomboy. fucking great portrayal of different kinds of women and their friendship plus a great house with roommate shenanigans and cooking. → holds up!
. Lucky Seven, 2012 ©: pretty standard detective drama but it features Eita and Nanako Matsushima as the female boss of the agency (who is another of my crushes)
. Switch Girl, 2012 (R): this drama is stupidly funny and while having a pretty traditional love story it features some nice thoughts on judging people by their appearance and beauty standards.
. Kagi no Kakatta Heya, 2012 ©: locked room mystery crime series.
. Soumato Kabushiki Gaisha, 2012 ©: a company that stores the film everyone sees before they die. the customers are able to watch their whole life on film, most of them discovering some very dark secrets about their lives. tw: suicide, abuse, generally quite heavy topics
. Toshi Densetsu no Onna, 2012 ©: a female detective connects her cases to mysterious urban legends to solve them. Masami Nagasawa’s outfits are the second star of the show.
. Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou, 2013 (C/S): mystery solving with the help of literature and placed in an old antique book store. what’s not to like.
. Yakou Kanransha, 2013 ©: two families living opposite of each other in an upscale neighborhood. one day a man is found murdered and everything is connected by a midnights ferries wheel.
. Summer Nude, 2013 (R/S): Karina (again! i love her) as a famous cook who has to rebuild her life in a coastal town after some hiccups in her personal life. food and a town at the beach with Karina playing another tomboy role. i love it.
. Mahoro Eki Mae Bangaichi, 2013 (C/S): Eita plays a problem solver for hire in a weird neighborhood featuring the eclectic Ryuhei Matsuda.
. River’s Edge Ookawabata Tanteisha, 2014 ©: aesthetic™ with my love Odagiri Joe.
. Gomen ne Seishun, 2014 (R/S): some catholic girls school vs boy school rivalry focused on the teachers with a mysterious case in the past. Hikari Mitsushima as the girl school’s teacher has amazing clothes.
. Koinaka, 2015 (R/S): two highschool sweethearts meeting again by chance. really quiet and sweet love story.
. Miss Sherlock, 2018 ©: a female sherlock. a female watson. solving crime. i wanted it to be more gay but the series is pretty solid. Yuko Takeuchi’s wardrobe is goals. also: Yuko Takeuchi is goals.
. What did you eat yesterday, 2019 (S): gay slice-of life series. still airing but so far I’m super happy. a couple in its 40s and their everyday life. food porn. also hilarious. (I might gif some more)
#ctlyuejie writes#REC!#longpost#long post#i def forgot a bunch#but i'm both amazed and frightend by myself for remembering this much#cutest anon alert#idek if anyone is going to bother to watch these :"D#btu you are always welcome to rave about these series to me (or complain)#especially what did you eat yesterday as it is currently airing
