Process Server Communication: What You Need to Know?
Whether you're a process server or just someone who's dealt with one, you may have noticed that the job itself is a little...misunderstood. While some believe process servers are bounty hunters, others believe that they are simply glorified paper carriers. There is one thing that remains true in all of this confusion: if we all could communicate effectively with process servers, the world would be a much better place.
The purpose of a process server is to continue the legal situation or case. As a process server, you must deliver documents to someone who is a legal entity involved in the case. This could be for a lawsuit, contracts, or the requirement to appear in court. You should always treat these working professionals with the same courtesy and respect you would expect from them.
The following are some key reminders for communicating with process servers:
Be Never Aggressive
An aggressive attitude toward a Houston process server is unnecessary. They are human beings performing an essential service that is authorized and certified by the Supreme Court. They have similar rights and expectations as you.
The verification documents of a process server will most likely be based on their swearing, threatening, or aggressive behavior. Having that kind of situation can reflect badly on you, and you'll want to take advantage of every advantage you can so that you come out of this situation as favorably as possible.
Respectful & Simple Conversations
Whenever you talk to a process server, you should be polite and respectful. Do not argue with them, do not get aggressive, do not be rude or condescending, and don’t threaten them with anything. If you decide to be argumentative because you think it will help your case in court or whatever other reason, keep in mind that all it will do is make the process server more determined to serve you.
You should also avoid asking things that are easy to answer with a yes or no (in fact, don't ask questions at all!). And finally, never ever use sarcasm with someone representing the courthouse or the judge.
Process Server Rights
A process server conducts court business, but they are also human beings with the same rights as you. Especially if the process server reports your actions to the police, you could face jail time if you act violently toward a process server. If you left your package at the door, you wouldn't attack an Amazon delivery driver, so why would you attack a process server?
Limit your responses
This is a legal case. A process server writes a detailed report that could include any language or facts you say. Don't ask the process server about their personal life. It is not your place to inquire about a person's job, religious beliefs, political views, or sexual orientation. It is probably none of your business, but this may also be considered harassment, which could result in you being in trouble with law enforcement. You simply need to say "thank you."
Take a look at the judge
Imagine a judge overseeing your interactions with a process server when communicating with them. You do not want a bad reputation or something as small as an ill-timed joke to negatively affect your credibility. Instead, stay professional and focus your energy on contacting your legal counsel to clear up the situation so the process server can move on to their next assignment.
Wrapping it up
Serving someone can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be uncomfortable. Your case will run much more smoothly if you are calm and respectful with the process server. Make sure you are honest about your location in order to avoid any future legal problems. You don't need to be violent or confrontational with the process server when he knocks on your door—he's just doing his job.
We at Houston process server treat our clients and recipients with utmost respect and dignity. We do not take sides in cases and simply want to provide accurate, professional, and reliable service. To learn more about our team or engage with our process serving services around the greater Houston area, please use our intake form. We are happy to collaborate with law enforcement, courts, law firms, government agencies, and other legal entities.

omg foxy fic for u! team night out where y/n let’s foxy drink so y/n can drive her back to their house later on and stuff since y/n prefers not to drink, when foxy is drunk she’s all over y/n and practically pulls her into her lap in the booth with teases from the team. just a funny cute fic, maybe foxy gets on karaoke and sings a love song and declares her love for y/n infront of the whole club. y/n takes her home and does her skin care routine since she’s too drunk to do it and looks after her .. feel like because she’s quite quiet she’d be a chaotic drunk
drunken love | emily fox
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
emily fic after the absolute banger she scored today!
Tumblr media
A team night out always promised chaos. You weren’t much of a drinker, which meant you got the all-important job of being the responsible one. And given Emily’s growing tendency to cling to you like a magnet when drunk, it was a good thing, too.
She was three drinks in, giggling at absolutely nothing and staring at you like you’d hung the stars in the sky.
“Babe,” she slurred, resting her chin on your shoulder. “You are too beautiful for me.”
Before you could respond, her bottom lip wobbled.
Oh, no.
“Babe, don’t cry,” you whispered, cupping her face before it turned into a full-blown scene.
“I just love you so much,” she sniffled, her arms locking around your waist in a death grip.
Across the table, Leah and Katie burst out laughing.
“She’s a mess,” Lotte said, shaking her head.
“She’s your mess,” Alessia added, giving you a knowing grin.
You sighed dramatically. “Unfortunately.”
Emily gasped like you’d just broken her heart.
“You don’t mean that,” she whispered.
“I don’t,” you reassured her, rubbing her back.
Seemingly satisfied, she nuzzled into your neck. “Good ‘cause I’d die without you.”
That earned another round of laughter from the table. Emily was normally a quiet, steady presence, quick-witted but never one to be the loudest in the room. But drunk Emily? Oh, drunk Emily was a romantic, dramatic, clingy mess.
And the team loved every second of it.
A server passed by, placing another round of drinks on the table, and Emily perked up immediately.
“Shots?” she asked hopefully. “Let’s do some shots!”
“No shots,” you said, pulling her back down before she could make a break for it.
“But I love shots,” she pouted.
“I know, babe. But you love me more, right?”
Her expression turned serious as she considered that. Then, with all the conviction in the world, she nodded.
“Yeah,” she said, snuggling into you again. “Love you wayyy more.”
Katie pretended to wipe a tear, just as drunk as Emily, “Beautiful, absolutely beautiful Foxy.”
You rolled your eyes.
Emily hummed, seemingly lost in her world. “Can you be my girlfriend?” she mumbled suddenly.
You blinked. “I already am.”
“Oh,” she said, as if this was brand-new information. Then, she grinned. “Lucky me! Did you guys know she was my girlfriend?” She said, turning to her teammates.
Lotte choked on her drink.
Before you could even process that, Beth clapped her hands.
“Alright, time for karaoke.”
You immediately tensed, and Emily immediately lit up.
“Me! I wanna go!” she cheered, raising her hand like a kid in class.
“Oh no,” you muttered. “Babe, maybe we just sit this one out—”
“Absolutely not,” Leah interrupted. “She’s gotta do it now.”
With the entire table cheering her on, Emily stumbled up to the tiny stage, grabbing the mic with the confidence of a woman who had absolutely no business being that drunk in public.
“This one’s for my girlfriend,” she announced dramatically, pointing directly at you.
Your stomach dropped.
“Oh, God.”
The team erupted into cheers. Emily squinted at the screen, clearly struggling to focus, before grinning.
The intro music started.
You recognized it immediately.
It was “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston.
Before you could even attempt to stop this disaster, Emily launched into it with the passion of someone performing for thousands, completely off-key, swaying like she might fall over at any second.
The team was losing their minds.
Katie was doubled over, Leah had tears in her eyes, and Alessia was recording every second of it. Meanwhile, you were sinking lower and lower into your seat, face buried in your hands.
When Emily hit the chorus, she dramatically reached out toward you like this was a tragic movie scene.
“I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOUUUUUUUUU!”
You were going to die. You could feel your soul physically leaving your body.
“She is SO gone,” Leah wheezed, wiping tears from her face.
“She’s in love,” Lotte corrected, shaking her head in awe. “That’s pure, unfiltered love.”
Somehow, Emily made it through the entire song, taking a deep bow at the end. As the whole bar cheered, you wanted to crawl into a hole.
Emily stumbled back toward you, flopping into the booth with the biggest grin.
“Did you like it?” she asked sweetly, beaming at you like a proud puppy.
“I—yeah, babe. It was… something.”
She sighed dreamily, tucking her head into your shoulder. “You’re my muse.”
Lotte snorted so hard she almost choked. You had to get her home.
“I think we’re calling it a night,” you announced, standing up and helping Emily to her feet. “Let’s get you home.”
“Oh, mine or yours?” she asked innocently.
“Ours,” you corrected, throwing an arm around her waist to steady her.
Emily gasped like you’d just proposed. “Oh, wow.”
The car ride was an adventure in itself. Emily had insisted on DJing, which mostly meant playing love songs at full volume and dramatically serenading you, often reaching across to grab your hand or trace hearts on your arm.
At a red light, she turned to you with the softest expression.
“You’re perfect,” she whispered, like it was the biggest secret in the world.
You glanced at her, shaking your head fondly. “Thank you, baby but you’re drunk.”
“I’m drunk and in love,” she corrected, squeezing your hand.
You laughed. “I know.”
When you finally pulled into your driveway, Emily stretched her arms above her head, a lazy smile on her face.
“We made it,” she said proudly. “You’re such a good driver!”
“Yep. Let’s get you inside before you fall asleep in the car.”
She huffed but let you help her out. Once inside, she flopped onto the couch with zero grace, arms spread like a starfish.
“Babe, bed,” you reminded her. “Let’s get you to bed, yeah?”
“But the couch is nice,” she murmured, already half-asleep.
You crouched beside her, brushing hair from her face. “Come on, I’ll even do your skincare for you.”
That got her attention. Her eyes fluttered open, sparkling with mischief.
“You’d do that for me?”
You smiled. “Always.”
Emily reached out, poking your cheek. “You’re the best.”
With some effort, you got her to the bathroom, where she sat on the closed toilet lid, watching you with the softest look as you carefully wiped off her makeup.
“Nobody’s ever done this for me before,” she mumbled.
You kissed her forehead. “Get used to it.”
She sighed happily, closing her eyes as you applied her moisturizer. Once she was all set, you helped her change into one of your oversized hoodies and led her to bed. As soon as she hit the mattress, she pulled you down with her, snuggling into your chest.
“I’m gonna marry you,” she murmured sleepily.
Your heart squeezed. “Yeah?”
“Mhm.”
You smiled into her hair. “Ask me again when you’re sober.”
Emily hummed, already halfway asleep, “I’m planning on doing it soon, just need a ring!”

Powering Search With Astro Actions and Fuse.js
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/powering-search-with-astro-actions-and-fuse-js/
Powering Search With Astro Actions and Fuse.js
Static sites are wonderful. I’m a big fan.
They also have their issues. Namely, static sites either are purely static or the frameworks that generate them completely lose out on true static generation when you just dip your toes in the direction of server routes.
Astro has been watching the front-end ecosystem and is trying to keep one foot firmly embedded in pure static generation, and the other in a powerful set of server-side functionality.
With Astro Actions, Astro brings a lot of the power of the server to a site that is almost entirely static. A good example of this sort of functionality is dealing with search. If you have a content-based site that can be purely generated, adding search is either going to be something handled entirely on the front end, via a software-as-a-service solution, or, in other frameworks, converting your entire site to a server-side application.
With Astro, we can generate most of our site during our build, but have a small bit of server-side code that can handle our search functionality using something like Fuse.js.
In this demo, we’ll use Fuse to search through a set of personal “bookmarks” that are generated at build time, but return proper results from a server call.
Starting the project
To get started, we’ll just set up a very basic Astro project. In your terminal, run the following command:
npm create astro@latest
Astro’s adorable mascot Houston is going to ask you a few questions in your terminal. Here are the basic responses, you’ll need:
Where should we create your new project? Wherever you’d like, but I’ll be calling my directory ./astro-search
How would you like to start your new project? Choose the basic minimalist starter.
Install dependencies? Yes, please!
Initialize a new git repository? I’d recommend it, personally!
This will create a directory in the location specified and install everything you need to start an Astro project. Open the directory in your code editor of choice and run npm run dev in your terminal in the directory.
When you run your project, you’ll see the default Astro project homepage.
We’re ready to get our project rolling!
Basic setup
To get started, let’s remove the default content from the homepage. Open the  /src/pages/index.astro file.
This is a fairly barebones homepage, but we want it to be even more basic. Remove the <Welcome /> component, and we’ll have a nice blank page.
For styling, let’s add Tailwind and some very basic markup to the homepage to contain our site.
npx astro add tailwind
The astro add command will install Tailwind and attempt to set up all the boilerplate code for you (handy!). The CLI will ask you if you want it to add the various components, I recommend letting it, but if anything fails, you can copy the code needed from each of the steps in the process. As the last step for getting to work with Tailwind, the CLI will tell you to import the styles into a shared layout. Follow those instructions, and we can get to work.
Let’s add some very basic markup to our new homepage.
--- // ./src/pages/index.astro import Layout from '../layouts/Layout.astro'; --- <Layout> <div class="max-w-3xl mx-auto my-10"> <h1 class="text-3xl text-center">My latest bookmarks</h1> <p class="text-xl text-center mb-5">This is only 10 of A LARGE NUMBER THAT WE'LL CHANGE LATER</p> </div> </Layout>
Your site should now look like this.
Not exactly winning any awards yet! That’s alright. Let’s get our bookmarks loaded in.
Adding bookmark data with Astro Content Layer
Since not everyone runs their own application for bookmarking interesting items, you can borrow my data. Here’s a small subset of my bookmarks, or you can go get 110 items from this link on GitHub. Add this data as a file in your project. I like to group data in a data directory, so my file lives in /src/data/bookmarks.json.

Now that the data is in the project, we need for Astro to incorporate the data into its build process. To do this, we can use Astro’s new(ish) Content Layer API. The Content Layer API adds a content configuration file to your src directory that allows you to run and collect any number of content pieces from data in your project or external APIs. Create the file  /src/content.config.ts (the name of this file matters, as this is what Astro is looking for in your project).
import defineCollection, z from "astro:content"; import file from 'astro/loaders'; const bookmarks = defineCollection( schema: z.object( pageTitle: z.string(), url: z.string(), description: z.string().optional() ), loader: file("src/data/bookmarks.json"), ); export const collections = bookmarks ;
In this file, we import a few helpers from Astro. We can use defineCollection to create the collection, z as Zod, to help define our types, and file is a specific content loader meant to read data files.
The defineCollection method takes an object as its argument with a required loader and optional schema. The schema will help make our content type-safe and make sure our data is always what we expect it to be. In this case, we’ll define the three data properties each of our bookmarks has. It’s important to define all your data in your schema, otherwise it won’t be available to your templates.
We provide the loader property with a content loader. In this case, we’ll use the file loader that Astro provides and give it the path to our JSON.
Finally, we need to export the collections variable as an object containing all the collections that we’ve defined (just bookmarks in our project). You’ll want to restart the local server by re-running npm run dev in your terminal to pick up the new data.
Using the new bookmarks content collection
Now that we have data, we can use it in our homepage to show the most recent bookmarks that have been added. To get the data, we need to access the content collection with the getCollection method from astro:content. Add the following code to the frontmatter for ./src/pages/index.astro .
--- import Layout from '../layouts/Layout.astro'; import getCollection from 'astro:content'; const bookmarks = await getCollection('bookmarks'); ---
This code imports the getCollection method and uses it to create a new variable that contains the data in our bookmarkscollection. The bookmarks variable is an array of data, as defined by the collection, which we can use to loop through in our template.
--- import Layout from '../layouts/Layout.astro'; import getCollection from 'astro:content'; const bookmarks = await getCollection('bookmarks'); --- <Layout> <div class="max-w-3xl mx-auto my-10"> <h1 class="text-3xl text-center">My latest bookmarks</h1> <p class="text-xl text-center mb-5"> This is only 10 of bookmarks.length </p> <h2 class="text-2xl mb-3">Latest bookmarks</h2> <ul class="grid gap-4"> bookmarks.slice(0, 10).map((item) => ( <li> <a href=item.data?.url class="block p-6 bg-white border border-gray-200 rounded-lg shadow-sm hover:bg-gray-100 dark:bg-gray-800 dark:border-gray-700 dark:hover:bg-gray-700"> <h3 class="mb-2 text-2xl font-bold tracking-tight text-gray-900 dark:text-white"> item.data?.pageTitle </h3> <p class="font-normal text-gray-700 dark:text-gray-400"> item.data?.description </p> </a> </li> )) </ul> </div> </Layout>
This should pull the most recent 10 items from the array and display them on the homepage with some Tailwind styles. The main thing to note here is that the data structure has changed a little. The actual data for each item in our array actually resides in the data property of the item. This allows Astro to put additional data on the object without colliding with any details we provide in our database. Your project should now look something like this.
Now that we have data and display, let’s get to work on our search functionality.
Building search with actions and vanilla JavaScript
To start, we’ll want to scaffold out a new Astro component. In our example, we’re going to use vanilla JavaScript, but if you’re familiar with React or other frameworks that Astro supports, you can opt for client Islands to build out your search. The Astro actions will work the same.
Setting up the component
We need to make a new component to house a bit of JavaScript and the HTML for the search field and results. Create the component in a ./src/components/Search.astro file.
<form id="searchForm" class="flex mb-6 items-center max-w-sm mx-auto"> <label for="simple-search" class="sr-only">Search</label> <div class="relative w-full"> <input type="text" id="search" class="bg-gray-50 border border-gray-300 text-gray-900 text-sm rounded-lg focus:ring-blue-500 focus:border-blue-500 block w-full p-2.5 dark:bg-gray-700 dark:border-gray-600 dark:placeholder-gray-400 dark:text-white dark:focus:ring-blue-500 dark:focus:border-blue-500" placeholder="Search Bookmarks" required /> </div> <button type="submit" class="p-2.5 ms-2 text-sm font-medium text-white bg-blue-700 rounded-lg border border-blue-700 hover:bg-blue-800 focus:ring-4 focus:outline-none focus:ring-blue-300 dark:bg-blue-600 dark:hover:bg-blue-700 dark:focus:ring-blue-800"> <svg class="w-4 h-4" aria-hidden="true" xmlns="<http://www.w3.org/2000/svg>" fill="none" viewBox="0 0 20 20"> <path stroke="currentColor" stroke-linecap="round" stroke-linejoin="round" stroke-width="2" d="m19 19-4-4m0-7A7 7 0 1 1 1 8a7 7 0 0 1 14 0Z"></path> </svg> <span class="sr-only">Search</span> </button> </form> <div class="grid gap-4 mb-10 hidden" id="results"> <h2 class="text-xl font-bold mb-2">Search Results</h2> </div> <script> const form = document.getElementById("searchForm"); const search = document.getElementById("search"); const results = document.getElementById("results"); form?.addEventListener("submit", async (e) => e.preventDefault(); console.log("SEARCH WILL HAPPEN"); ); </script>
The basic HTML is setting up a search form, input, and results area with IDs that we’ll use in JavaScript. The basic JavaScript finds those elements, and for the form, adds an event listener that fires when the form is submitted. The event listener is where a lot of our magic is going to happen, but for now, a console log will do to make sure everything is set up properly.
Setting up an Astro Action for search
In order for Actions to work, we need our project to allow for Astro to work in server or hybrid mode. These modes allow for all or some pages to be rendered in serverless functions instead of pre-generated as HTML during the build. In this project, this will be used for the Action and nothing else, so we’ll opt for hybrid mode.
To be able to run Astro in this way, we need to add a server integration. Astro has integrations for most of the major cloud providers, as well as a basic Node implementation. I typically host on Netlify, so we’ll install their integration. Much like with Tailwind, we’ll use the CLI to add the package and it will build out the boilerplate we need.
npx astro add netlify
Once this is added, Astro is running in Hybrid mode. Most of our site is pre-generated with HTML, but when the Action gets used, it will run as a serverless function.
Setting up a very basic search Action
Next, we need an Astro Action to handle our search functionality. To create the action, we need to create a new file at ./src/actions/index.js. All our Actions live in this file. You can write the code for each one in separate files and import them into this file, but in this example, we only have one Action, and that feels like premature optimization.
In this file, we’ll set up our search Action. Much like setting up our content collections, we’ll use a method called defineAction and give it a schema and in this case a handler. The schema will validate the data it’s getting from our JavaScript is typed correctly, and the handler will define what happens when the Action runs.
import defineAction from "astro:actions"; import z from "astro:schema"; import getCollection from "astro:content"; export const server = search: defineAction( schema: z.object( query: z.string(), ), handler: async (query) => const bookmarks = await getCollection("bookmarks"); const results = await bookmarks.filter((bookmark) => return bookmark.data.pageTitle.includes(query); ); return results; , ), ;
For our Action, we’ll name it search and expect a schema of an object with a single property named query which is a string. The handler function will get all of our bookmarks from the content collection and use a native JavaScript .filter() method to check if the query is included in any bookmark titles. This basic functionality is ready to test with our front-end.
Using the Astro Action in the search form event
When the user submits the form, we need to send the query to our new Action. Instead of figuring out where to send our fetch request, Astro gives us access to all of our server Actions with the actions object in astro:actions. This means that any Action we create is accessible from our client-side JavaScript.
In our Search component, we can now import our Action directly into the JavaScript and then use the search action when the user submits the form.
<script> import actions from "astro:actions"; const form = document.getElementById("searchForm"); const search = document.getElementById("search"); const results = document.getElementById("results"); form?.addEventListener("submit", async (e) => e.preventDefault(); results.innerHTML = ""; const query = search.value; const data, error = await actions.search(query); if (error) results.innerHTML = `<p>$error.message</p>`; return; // create a div for each search result data.forEach(( item ) => const div = document.createElement("div"); div.innerHTML = ` <a href="$item.data?.url" class="block p-6 bg-white border border-gray-200 rounded-lg shadow-sm hover:bg-gray-100 dark:bg-gray-800 dark:border-gray-700 dark:hover:bg-gray-700"> <h3 class="mb-2 text-2xl font-bold tracking-tight text-gray-900 dark:text-white"> $item.data?.pageTitle </h3> <p class="font-normal text-gray-700 dark:text-gray-400"> $item.data?.description </p> </a>`; // append the div to the results container results.appendChild(div); ); // show the results container results.classList.remove("hidden"); ); </script>
When results are returned, we can now get search results!
Though, they’re highly problematic. This is just a simple JavaScript filter, after all. You can search for “Favorite” and get my favorite bread recipe, but if you search for “favorite” (no caps), you’ll get an error… Not ideal.
That’s why we should use a package like Fuse.js.
Adding Fuse.js for fuzzy search
Fuse.js is a JavaScript package that has utilities to make “fuzzy” search much easier for developers. Fuse will accept a string and based on a number of criteria (and a number of sets of data) provide responses that closely match even when the match isn’t perfect. Depending on the settings, Fuse can match “Favorite”, “favorite”, and even misspellings like “favrite” all to the right results.
Is Fuse as powerful as something like Algolia or ElasticSearch? No. Is it free and pretty darned good? Absolutely! To get Fuse moving, we need to install it into our project.
npm install fuse.js
From there, we can use it in our Action by importing it in the file and creating a new instance of Fuse based on our bookmarks collection.
import defineAction from "astro:actions"; import z from "astro:schema"; import getCollection from "astro:content"; import Fuse from "fuse.js"; export const server = search: defineAction( schema: z.object( query: z.string(), ), handler: async (query) => const bookmarks = await getCollection("bookmarks"); const fuse = new Fuse(bookmarks, threshold: 0.3, keys: [ name: "data.pageTitle", weight: 1.0 , name: "data.description", weight: 0.7 , name: "data.url", weight: 0.3 , ], ); const results = await fuse.search(query); return results; , ), ;
In this case, we create the Fuse instance with a few options. We give it a threshold value between 0 and 1 to decide how “fuzzy” to make the search. Fuzziness is definitely something that depends on use case and the dataset. In our dataset, I’ve found 0.3 to be a great threshold.
The keys array allows you to specify which data should be searched. In this case, I want all the data to be searched, but I want to allow for different weighting for each item. The title should be most important, followed by the description, and the URL should be last. This way, I can search for keywords in all these areas.
Once there’s a new Fuse instance, we run fuse.search(query) to have Fuse check the data, and return an array of results.
When we run this with our front-end, we find we have one more issue to tackle.
The structure of the data returned is not quite what it was with our simple JavaScript. Each result now has a refIndex and an item. All our data lives on the item, so we need to destructure the item off of each returned result.
To do that, adjust the front-end forEach.
// create a div for each search result data.forEach(( item ) => const div = document.createElement("div"); div.innerHTML = ` <a href="$item.data?.url" class="block p-6 bg-white border border-gray-200 rounded-lg shadow-sm hover:bg-gray-100 dark:bg-gray-800 dark:border-gray-700 dark:hover:bg-gray-700"> <h3 class="mb-2 text-2xl font-bold tracking-tight text-gray-900 dark:text-white"> $item.data?.pageTitle </h3> <p class="font-normal text-gray-700 dark:text-gray-400"> $item.data?.description </p> </a>`; // append the div to the results container results.appendChild(div); );
Now, we have a fully working search for our bookmarks.
Next steps
This just scratches the surface of what you can do with Astro Actions. For instance, we should probably add additional error handling based on the error we get back. You can also experiment with handling this at the page-level and letting there be a Search page where the Action is used as a form action and handles it all as a server request instead of with front-end JavaScript code. You could also refactor the JavaScript from the admittedly low-tech vanilla JS to something a bit more robust with React, Svelte, or Vue.
One thing is for sure, Astro keeps looking at the front-end landscape and learning from the mistakes and best practices of all the other frameworks. Actions, Content Layer, and more are just the beginning for a truly compelling front-end framework.

Apple Plans Texas Factory for AI Servers, 20,000 Research Jobs
Tumblr media
Apple Monday said it plans to help bring online a quarter-million-square-foot factory in Texas by 2026 to build artificial intelligence
Tumblr media
servers and will add about 20,000 research and development jobs across the U.S.
Apple said that it plans to spend $500 billion in the United States over the next four years, though that figure includes everything from purchases from U.S. suppliers to U.S. filming of television shows and movies for its Apple TV+ service. The company declined to say how much of the figure it was already planning to spend with its existing U.S. supply base, which includes firms such as Corning, which makes glass for iPhones in Kentucky.
The move comes after media reports that Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook met with President Donald Trump last week. Many of Apple's products that are assembled in China could face 10% tariffs imposed by Trump earlier this month, though the iPhone maker previously secured some waivers from China tariffs during the first Trump administration.
Apple made a similar announcement about its U.S. spending plans during the first Trump administration, at that time saying it planned $350 billion over five years.
Most of Apple's consumer products are assembled outside the U.S., though many of Apple components are still made there, including chips from Broadcom, SkyWorks Solutions and Qorovo. Apple also said that it last month started mass producing chips of its own design at an Arizona factory owned Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC).
Bringing TSMC to Arizona and helping introduce legislation that later became the CHIPS Act to bolster U.S. semiconductor production were two of Trump's biggest industrial policy moves during his first term.
Apple said on Monday that it will work with Hon Hai Precision Industry's Foxconn to build a 250,000-squre-foot facility in Houston, where it will assemble servers that go into data centers to power Apple Intelligence, its suite of AI features that help draft emails and perform other tasks. Those servers are currently made outside of the U.S., Apple said.
Apple also said it plans to increase its Advanced Manufacturing Fund from $5 billion to $10 billion, with part of the expansion being a "multibillion-dollar commitment from Apple to produce advanced silicon" at TSMC's Arizona factory. Apple did not disclose details of its deal with TSMC, but it has in the past used the fund to help partners build out the infrastructure needed to deliver products or services for Apple.
Apple will also open a manufacturing academy in Michigan where its engineers, along with local university staff, will offer free courses for small and mid-sized manufacturing firms in areas such as project management and manufacturing process optimization.

Streamlining Your Business: AI Bookkeeping and Automated Payroll Services in Texas
Tumblr media
Texas is a hub of innovation, with businesses ranging from thriving startups to large corporations driving its economy. Amid the state’s rapid growth, companies are seeking ways to optimize their operations and maintain a competitive edge. One powerful way they’re achieving this is by adopting AI bookkeeping services and automated payroll solutions. These tools not only simplify financial management but also improve accuracy, save time, and support business growth.
If you’re a Texas business owner, this guide will walk you through how these technologies can transform your operations.
What Are AI Bookkeeping Services?
AI bookkeeping leverages artificial intelligence to automate financial tasks that were once tedious and time-consuming. From expense tracking to generating real-time financial reports, AI can handle it all with unmatched speed and precision.
Key Features of AI Bookkeeping
Automated Data Entry: AI tools can capture and categorize expenses automatically, reducing human error.
Real-Time Reporting: Get up-to-the-minute insights into your financial health, helping you make informed decisions.
Seamless Integration: Many AI bookkeeping solutions integrate with your existing software, like QuickBooks or Xero, for a smoother workflow.
Why AI Bookkeeping is Perfect for Texas Businesses
Texas is home to diverse industries such as technology, healthcare, and retail, each with unique bookkeeping needs. AI bookkeeping adapts to various business models, making it an ideal choice for entrepreneurs across the state.
For example, a tech startup in Austin can use AI powered  bookkeeping to track investor funding and operating costs. Meanwhile, a retail store in Dallas might use it to monitor inventory expenses and sales revenue.
The Importance of Automated Payroll Services
Payroll processing is one of the most critical but often time-intensive tasks for businesses. Automated payroll services simplify this process by calculating wages, deducting taxes, and ensuring employees are paid on time.
Benefits of Automated Payroll Services
Error-Free Payroll: Manual payroll is prone to mistakes, but automation ensures accuracy every time.
Tax Compliance: Stay compliant with federal and Texas-specific payroll laws effortlessly.
Employee Satisfaction: Timely and accurate pay builds trust and boosts morale.
Real-World Applications for Texas Companies
In cities like Houston and San Antonio, businesses often deal with multi-location payroll and complex tax requirements. Automated payroll systems eliminate these challenges by consolidating payroll data into one easy-to-manage platform.
For example, a restaurant chain with locations across Texas can automate its payroll to ensure every employee, from servers in Austin to chefs in Dallas, gets paid correctly and on time.
Why Texas is the Perfect Market for AI and Automation
Texas has earned a reputation as one of the most business-friendly states in the U.S. With no corporate income tax, a skilled workforce, and diverse industries, it’s no surprise that companies are flourishing here. However, this growth also brings challenges:
Managing multi-location operations across major cities like Dallas, Austin, and Houston.
Navigating state-specific tax regulations and federal compliance requirements.
Staying competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
AI bookkeeping and automated payroll services address these challenges head-on. They allow businesses to focus on innovation and customer satisfaction rather than being bogged down by administrative tasks.
How to Choose the Right Provider
Not all providers are created equal, so it’s essential to choose a solution that fits your unique business needs.
Factors to Consider:
Local Expertise: Work with a provider that understands Texas’s specific tax laws and regulations.
Customization: Ensure the solution can adapt to your industry and business size.
User-Friendly Interfaces: Choose a platform that’s easy for your team to use and requires minimal training.
Integration Capabilities: Look for services that integrate seamlessly with your existing accounting and HR systems.
Customer Support: A reliable support team is invaluable, especially when you’re new to the technology.
For Texas businesses, providers offering localized solutions tailored to the state’s regulations and market conditions are the best choice.
Getting Started with AI Bookkeeping and Automated Payroll Services
Implementing these solutions might seem daunting, but the long-term benefits far outweigh the initial setup efforts. Here’s a simple step-by-step process to get started:
Assess Your Needs: Identify which tasks take up the most time and resources in your financial management process.
Research Providers: Look for highly rated providers specializing in Texas businesses.
Request a Demo: Most providers offer free trials or demostake advantage of these to test the software.
Train Your Team: Ensure your employees are comfortable using the new tools.
Monitor Performance: Regularly evaluate the impact of these solutions on your business efficiency and financial accuracy.
Case Study: A Texas Success Story
Take the example of a growing e-commerce business in Dallas. The company struggled with manual bookkeeping and payroll, leading to errors and missed deadlines. After adopting an AI bookkeeping service, they reduced errors by 90%, gained real-time financial insights, and improved cash flow management.
Additionally, they implemented an automated payroll system, ensuring timely payments to their remote team across Texas. The result? Improved employee satisfaction, streamlined operations, and more time to focus on growing their business.
Final Thoughts
Texas businesses operate in a dynamic, competitive environment, and staying ahead means embracing innovation. AI bookkeeping services and automated payroll solutions offer the tools you need to streamline operations, reduce errors, and focus on growth.
Whether you’re a startup in Austin or an established company in Houston, these technologies are not just helpful—they’re essential. By adopting them today, you can position your business for long-term success.
Ready to transform your business? Explore AI bookkeeping and automated payroll services tailored for Texas businesses and take the first step toward efficiency and growth.

AI-powered cameras monitor Brazil’s oil and gas industry
Porto Alegre-based startup Pix Force and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro bet on the sector, which has invested R$32bn since 1998
Tumblr media
Global oil and gas giants with billions in revenue are increasingly turning to startups and universities for their research, development, and innovation (RDI) projects. In this context, Pix Force, a startup from Porto Alegre (Rio Grande do Sul), has developed a system that leverages the vast number of surveillance cameras in these industries by layering them with artificial intelligence. The AI technology continuously monitors these cameras, identifies areas with health and safety risks, flags unauthorized items in specific locations, and issues alerts to security personnel.
State-owned Petrobras, Brazil’s largest oil company, has thousands of security cameras. “It would take an army to monitor them all. It’s not a job for humans—machines are more efficient,” said Daniel Moura, who founded Pix Force with his partner Renato Gomes seven years ago. Now employing 100 people, Pix Force counts Petrobras, Vibra, Shell, and Cemig among its 35 clients in oil, gas, electric power, and mining. Pix Force projects that its revenue of R$8 million in 2023 will grow to R$13 million in 2024, boosted by new contracts. This year, the startup also opened an office at Greentown Labs in Houston, Texas, after a competitive selection process.
“Most companies already have cameras installed, but they aren’t ‘smart’—they only record,” Mr. Gomes said. Enhanced with AI software, the cameras communicate with Pix Force’s cloud-based server, where AI analyzes the data, which clients can then access. Using deep learning, the system has multiple layers of intelligence, simulating the human brain’s network.
Investment in innovation is a part of the oil and gas sector’s transformation, increasingly focused on digitalizing services. From 1998 to 2024, the 16 companies in this sector in Brazil invested R$32 billion in RDI, with Petrobras accounting for about 80% of that amount, said Melissa Fernandez, head of technology and innovation at the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP). Combined investments in 2023 reached R$4 billion.

Eurasian Bistro Offers An Authentic Experience in the Vietnamese Space
Tumblr media
Pensacola, FL – Former NASA engineer Paul Nguyen has switched the stars for serving up stellar recipes at his Eurasian Bistro that provide diners with a unique experience.
Saigon-born Nguyen's Eurasian Bistro is a unique Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Pensacola. It offers a fusion of authentic Vietnamese cuisine and Eurasian flavors with a modern twist.
Renowned for its fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and a menu that caters to a variety of tastes, the bistro provides a cozy, inviting atmosphere perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.
Eurasian Bistro is quickly becoming the go-to destination for those seeking a delightful culinary journey through Vietnam's rich gastronomic landscape. Whether it's for lunch, dinner, or a special event, the bistro promises that and more - including two robots that offer a consistent talking point!
The bistro's expertly curated menu is a testament to Vietnam's rich food heritage, offering an enticing blend of traditional dishes and modern interpretations. From the heart-warming Pho, redolent with aromatic herbs, to the crisp and refreshing Goi Cuon, each dish is a vibrant symphony of flavors that showcases the unique balance of sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy, quintessential to Vietnamese cuisine.
"We pride ourselves on our selection of fresh ingredients that are not only flavorful but contribute to the healthful aspects of our offerings," said Nguyen. "Whether you're an adventurous food explorer or a seasoned fan of Vietnamese food, we invite you to browse our menu, dive into the mouth-watering descriptions, and allow your palate to experience a true taste of Vietnam."
Nguyen's family escaped from Vietnam on a boat in 1977, two years after the fall of Saigon during the Vietnam War. After staying in a refugee camp in Indonesia for less than a year, his family arrived in the United States and eventually settled in Houston, Texas.
Paul joined Microsoft in 1999 and was responsible for defining and developing an oil and gas technical architecture vision and long-term technology roadmap for Microsoft, shaping the company's technical strategy in these critical areas.
He led the development and organization of the Microsoft Upstream Reference Architecture Initiative, an effort by Microsoft and its industry partners to define and expand a common reference architecture as the "unifying language" and a force for productivity and integration in the oil and gas industry.
Outside the oil and gas industry, he has also held technical roles at the NASA Johnson Space Center, designing hardware for the space shuttle's closed circuit television system (CCTV) and working on space shuttle telemetry processing systems in the mission control center. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Houston.
In 2013, he retired from the corporate world and moved to Pensacola in 2015. After a seven-year hiatus, he took on a new challenge – Eurasian Bistro. His mission is to bring awareness of the unique Vietnamese cuisine to the masses, which delights customers with a friendly ambience and consistently good food.
Diners have been tremendously impressed by the bistro’s offerings. Kailey Harris said: "This place was great and lots of fun! It's a very laid back environment while still looking classy with a robot server. The food tasted very clean and refreshing! I would definitely recommend the Chicken Pho, Beef Stir Fried Noodles, and cheesecake."
Another reviewer, Eric Augustine, added: "Food is amazing, had their spicy beef noodle, the meat to noodle ratio was amazing. Soup was filled with meat and had a very even meat to noodle ratio. Had the sides of sprouts, jalapeños, cilantro, basil, broth was tasty. I enjoyed the experience. Had a robot that comes and delivers your food and will come get your dishes when finished. Definitely will go back."
Eurasian Bistro is open 11am- 8pm, Tuesday to Sunday. To reserve a table or for more information:

IT Asset Disposition Services (ITAD) in Houston: Safely Managing Your Tech Assets
In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, businesses in Houston and around the world find themselves constantly upgrading their IT equipment to stay competitive and efficient. However, the disposal of obsolete or unwanted IT assets can be a daunting task that demands proper handling to protect data security and the environment. This is where IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) services in Houston come into play. In this article, we'll explore the significance of ITAD services and how they benefit businesses in the Houston area. IT Asset Disposition Services (ITAD) in Houston
The Importance of IT Asset Disposition
IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) is a comprehensive strategy for the retirement, recycling, and disposal of obsolete or surplus IT equipment, such as computers, servers, mobile devices, and data storage systems. ITAD is crucial for several reasons:
Data Security: One of the most significant concerns in ITAD is data security. Failing to properly wipe or destroy data on old devices can lead to data breaches, exposing sensitive information and potentially causing severe legal and financial consequences.
Environmental Responsibility: Responsible IT asset disposition ensures that electronic waste (e-waste) is managed in an environmentally friendly manner. E-waste contains hazardous materials, and improper disposal can harm the environment and human health.
Compliance and Regulations: Many industries and jurisdictions have specific regulations regarding the disposal of electronic equipment. Non-compliance can result in penalties and damage to a company's reputation.
ITAD Services in Houston
Houston, as a hub of technology and business, offers a range of ITAD services tailored to meet the needs of various industries. Here's what you can expect from ITAD services in the area:
Data Erasure and Destruction: ITAD providers in Houston employ advanced data erasure and destruction techniques to ensure that your sensitive information remains confidential. This process follows industry standards and compliances such as NIST, DoD, and HIPAA.
Asset Remarketing: Companies can benefit from the resale of their decommissioned IT assets. ITAD providers can assess the value of your equipment and help you recover some of the initial investment.
Recycling: Houston-based ITAD companies responsibly recycle e-waste, minimizing the environmental impact and ensuring that hazardous materials are disposed of safely.
Logistics and Transportation: ITAD services offer secure transportation and logistics, ensuring that your IT assets are safely moved from your location to the ITAD facility.
Compliance Expertise: ITAD providers in Houston stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations to help your business maintain compliance while disposing of IT assets.
Benefits of Utilizing ITAD Services
Cost Savings: Effective ITAD can help businesses recover some of their initial investment by remarketing or recycling assets, ultimately reducing disposal costs.
Data Security: ITAD services ensure that sensitive information is securely wiped or destroyed, protecting your business from data breaches and associated risks.
Environmental Responsibility: By recycling e-waste properly, ITAD services contribute to a cleaner environment and sustainable practices.
Compliance: ITAD providers help businesses navigate the complex web of regulations and ensure they remain compliant throughout the IT asset disposition process.
Conclusion
IT Asset Disposition Services (ITAD) in Houston are essential for businesses in Houston to responsibly manage their obsolete or surplus IT assets. From data security and environmental responsibility to compliance and cost savings, ITAD services offer a wide range of benefits that are vital in today's technology-driven world. By partnering with an experienced ITAD provider in Houston, businesses can ensure a smooth and secure transition when retiring IT equipment, ultimately helping them stay competitive and environmentally responsible.

i think i have to unstan harry styles.
best weekend of my life (so far)
it's been a week [a fucking year] and I still haven't posted my review. at this point y'all know the show was awesome. hannah is posting her pics after a week straight of actually working (let's take up a collection to hire hannah to go to harry shows and produce exclusive content for us, what do you say?). after a week [a YEAR] away from the harrie commune all I can say is.... I don't know if I can continue on this way without it. i might have to stop altogether. [somehow, i’ve made due.]
after the last show of the 2018 tour I had such a fierce feeling that I'd missed out on something I would have really loved. there was nothing to do for it, since it was my sister's wedding day, so I moved on pretty quickly. but I also made the decision that for harry's next tour, I was going to go all out.
my dudes, what a way to ring in the new era. [and present me needs to interject here that i think i knew that something was going to go horribly wrong in 2020. even with tickets in hand to such faraway shows as phoenix, denver, and raleigh, i could NOT book flights or hotels as late as february. i knew about coronavirus in late december because i was traveling abroad and acutely aware of travel warnings about wuhan province. and in early february we had our mardi gras party and franny showed up kind of sick and i hugged her but cautiously, mentally cataloguing her symptoms. so when it finally happened i think i was just ... resigned. and that’s why i wasn’t as upset as i would have been if nothing had changed from the time i started writing this review.]
this kind of show always seemed like something that happened to other people. getting the actual tickets was rather stressful (though not as stressful an experience as others had...) but once everything shook itself out i couldn’t even think about the weekend or else I’d implode. thank god for @chasm2018‘s organizational abilities.
we missed a measles exposure at LAX by 2 days (bless). my first harrie commune™ experience of the weekend was riding the connections shuttle to pick up @papiermachecat at terminal 6 like she was a conquering hero (she is). we rode the connections shuttle to pick up @stylesinthewild and found a little table at starbucks in the baggage claim to wait for the bay area harries to arrive in their rented minivan full of goodies.
we piled in and hannah got us to our two hotel rooms, one with three queen beds, and somehow we got to the forum twice, once to buy pre-show merch and then the final time for the fine line show. we all dressed up and then took just ONE picture. one.
you know how the show went. i’m trying to cover ground that the squad hasn’t already posted [a YEAR AGO]
here is the note I DM'd to harry the next morning, which i think sums everything up nicely:
thank you for the show last night at the forum. I flew in from Houston and met up with friends from all over, only one of whom I'd gotten to hug in real life prior to yesterday. today we're sharing beds and toothpaste and fond memories. thank you for being you and bringing us all together. 💜
i don’t remember WHEN i sent it, maybe 3am, but later that day i took an uber to a vegan tattoo artist’s backyard studio to get a planned tattoo that @papiermachecat had sketched for me and my impulse tattoo of a fine line around my left wrist. while i was doing that, the squad finished up eating breakfast with other harries and then went to stand in the pop-up shop line.
you’ve heard the line stories. i fucking LOVE standing in a line for something because of the people you meet. in front of us we had a personal DJ who’d play what people wanted to hear and airdropped a picture of harry’s dick from WMYB. we’d break off in pairs to go to CVS or visit other people we knew in line. and this hasn’t been written about before, but one of those times hannah and i were walking around the block we saw some men standing by some cars near the entrance and we kind of stopped.... and i think at the same time realized who we were looking at ... and after looking around and realizing that no one else in the fucking line recognized jeff azoff hannah went in for the kill. we thanked him for taking such good care of harry, answered questions he had for us, thanked him again, i had the presence of mind at the end to tell him our names, and we took the pop-up shop merch menus that hadn’t been passed out to anyone yet, and then walked back to our spot in line silently, processing that moment. sometimes i’ll think about that conversation and get all warm and fuzzy thinking about that show and how well it went and how much LOVE there was for everything and harry and between all of us and it sustains me through a shitty, shitty pandemic day at work.
eventually we got through the line and got our merch and looked at all the things they had set up and after moving our reservation back we got to cafe habana to sit at a very familiar table and i took off my bandages to show my tattoos to everyone (to this day i regret not having the presence of mind to show jeff my brand new fine line tattoo, he would have loved it) and we ate and laughed and had the server take our picture and that’s probably what i miss most about the weekend, being in that place imbued with such silly meaning to us and all FEELING that gravity of where we were and being able to recognize it in each others’ eyes and smiles. perfect weather, amazing food, the best company.
the early morning saw our three queen room breaking up, and @papiermachecat left a single zyrtec in the middle of the room on the floor, bringing me to tears laughing even without her physical presence. @chasm2018 and i went to randy’s donuts (where we met up with @treatpeoplewithnice again) and GOD i want to eat donuts that good again.
it was sad to leave LA that afternoon, wearing my new tpwk oversized hoodie. it wasn’t the last time i was around a big crowd of people, wasn’t even the last concert i attended before all of this happened (that was in vienna on december 30), but it was the last time i was going to be full of unbridled joy. that weekend was the real ode to joy.
we’ll get back to it, it’s just going to take some time.
@stylesinthewild, @papiermachecat, @greeneyesharry & emily, @treatpeoplewithnice, @aggresivelyfriendly, and @chasm2018: fine line forum squad forever in my heart. that weekend will always be so special to me for so many reasons and it wouldn’t have been the same without each and every one of you.
@accidentalharrie and @styloff - ONE of these times we’ll be in the same place for long enough to do more than hug and grin at each other.
@ferryboatpeak and @ticklefighthockey - it was great to meet you! and la who would have thought then our next meeting would be in the backyard of an airbnb sitting six feet apart because we don’t want to spread a disease?
to harry, who isn’t reading this but i need all of you who ARE to know my heart ... thank you for bringing these people into my life. this experience of being your fan has changed me in such profound ways that there’s really no way to express it. it’s less about you and more about those who love you like i do, and i love them. and you.
to jeff, thank you for taking such good care of harry and having his best interests at heart.
to anne, thank you for raising such a good person and giving him to the world.
to camille, thank you for fine line. without you, that weekend doesn’t happen the way it did and i love that weekend.
