How To Add a Gradient to the Map Section
I figured it out for you so here's a short little tutorial! I have Photoshop CS6 Extended but it's pretty basic!
So open up the downloaded gradient from the pack. I'm using one courtesy of pezofrp.
Once you have it open click this:
This should pop up:
Then go to your layers:
And click your gradient:
Then go back to the properties box and this should happen (MAKE SURE THE GRADIENT IS BLUE BEFORE GOING TO THE PROPERTIES):
Click the color and you should see this:
Then just click this:
TADA YOU HAVE A GRADIENT NOW!

Hi lovely, I just downloaded photoshop and I'm trying to get this gradient I downloaded to appear in my gradient map but I have no idea how?
Really? It should allow you to? Try dragging the gradient or right click and see if it gives you the option??? I'm sorry, I suck at explaining things!

how do you change the color of gifs on photoshop?
There’s several ways you can. You can create a new layer (group the gif layers first and place your new layer on top of it), use the brush tool and color it with the color you want and then lower the opacity. Most people, however, use a gradient which can be found installed in your gradient map area and if not there are plenty that you can download for free!
