Mistborn: The Alloy Of Law by Brandon Sanderson
Mistborn era 2 book 1. Fast foreword a couple hundred years and we land in an industrializing Scadrial. This was light and cute, but the epilogue upped the intrigue and made me want to read the rest of the series. What are Harmony and Ironeyes up to? I must know. Wayne and Steris are current favorites for this era.
Scadrial era 2 is definitely the western of the cosmere. Made me want to replay Red Dead Redemption 2 again.

genuinely why is there so much misinformation about the guardians of childhood book series?
#Lemme be a toxic fan for a moment bc im so tired and stressed and i need to yell my silly fandom frustrations out to the void#The people saying Jack is fourteen in them. No.#He can manipulate his age from 11 to 18 and is dating a 25 yr old#people still insist that the books are connected to the movie despite there being no possibility for that since 2018#And like they totally guess what happens in the books#I saw someone try to say that dreamworks were being 'weird' and aged Jack up to ship him with tooth but in the books he was a child#three things: He's not fourteen (see above for age. He's essentially an adult and is treated as such) and is dating an adult#And he didn't make an official appearance in the books until 2018. Six years AFTER the movies release#and thirdly dreamworks aged him DOWN????#Joyce's og idea was an adult with a wife + kids ???#Like what are you talking about#never mind the people insisting that JACK IS 12???? NO??? Where did you get ur information bc wtf???#the movie started production (in 2008) before any of the books even existed (first book was published in 2011)#We have no idea how much of the books they had! The most they had were Joyce's ideas that were subject to change (and boy did they change)#the walking eggs in the movie didn't come from the book (even tho they're in there) they came from Joyce's doodling on notes!#The third book published alongside the movie tie-in books and then days later the finished film premiered at the Mill Valley Film Festival#by the time the second book rolled around (2012) the movie was probably finished and was just getting distributed by paramount and#was possibly even finished in 2011! Four years of production of the movie and then the first book got released#I cannot express enough how much the books are not the source material for the movie. If anything is it's the 2005 short film Joyce made#God it's so infuriating to see people discussing the books like they're the Bible without having read it. I get so irrationally upset#And why are we talking about the books like they have any relevance to the movie after 2018? that book completely severed all ties#Like I get it if people want to connect them but you'd have to ignore the entire last book to do that (which yeah most do)#but there's so many assumptions about the books and it makes it clear who got their into from fan rumors and who actually read them#if you are basing ur understanding of a book you've never read based on fanfic maybe you just shouldn’t say anything about the book#rotg#rise of the guardians#guardians of childhood#goc

During my search for what kind of shirt to try to make for my Halloween costume I found an archive of mcr merch that someone made a while back (very impressive btw) and in the folder of revenge era shirts I found THIS
a STIGMATA shirt?!?!?! As official merch????!?!??!?!!! Which was made before Unholyverse was written!?!?!!!?!?!???! Which begs the question: did bexless know about this merch and was the fic partially inspired by this shirt? Or just the shitty 90s movie (which I haven’t watched but saw the trailer for and went NOPE)? I have so many questions…

The Help. 6/8/2020
Watched “The Help” last evening as I baked a chicken in the Kitchen. It’s a movie all about writing down your “religion”—risky writing.
And, as the anxiety built in the film, it also built in my soul as our stories are parallel. Leading to a “crack”. A huge tree limb snapped off one of the Modesto Ashes in front of my house and crashed into my neighbor’s yard! The smashing crack of Truth slamming into the hardpan ugliness of small town America.
I like the fact that in the movie , they show her writing in her journal. Like me, she is a documenter of the times. A very risky proposition.
But, she and I agree, a very necessary one. To document , you stand outside the experience—but, you record it as if you were fully part of the story.

“The Help” was a 2011 movie in which an African American woman who works as a servant for a white family in a southern state in the 1960’s and journals her story.
It is based by a novel published in 2009 written by Kathryn Stockett.
I was watching the movie in the above entry in my kitchen. The Modesto Ash that had the limb snap off was about 40 feet to the West of where I was in the Kitchen. It probably snapped off due the summer heat. I was watching the movie for inspiration, as, I too, was writing a book based on my journals.

Me trying to piece together the timeline between the Ravenhearst games and the Blackpool Mysteries books
#sham's trash posts#mystery case files#mcf#hi i'm sham and i like overthinking things as a hobby#anyway i started reading the books during work since i haven't had the energy to keep playing the games#i'm fascinated by the references they make to ravenhearst periodically#probably a reminder of their connection to the games tbh but still super fun for me specifically#they name dropped charles dalimar specifically and i went out loud 'BALD ASS MAN'#point being i know they take place after the md figured out what happened there#considering the games tend to take place in the year they're released it's safe to assume the books published in 2010-2011 follow this#so 2 years after ravenhearst is solved with return to ravenhearst taking place in 2011 if i'm remembering my dates#so in theory this is all pre-md blowing up the manor the first time#so mr. dalimari damacy's soul is in the stages of being revived while all this weird murder shit's going on in blackpool#and the md is currently dealing with pirate ghosts in america#so the overall takeaway is that if not for phineas crown maybe the md would've gotten involved in the string of murders#anywho i'm having fun reading again i haven't been this invested in a mystery series since sherlock holmes#and this invested in a book since my chonky copy of les miserables#it's that brain rot. can't escape it tbh

finally locating the downloaded copy you knew you had somewhere of a fic that's been deleted for years is such an exciting feeling.
#i thought i only had one of this person's works but i actually have like. 8 of them. and im pleasantly surprised by that 8 including#one i didn't think i had but REALLY wanted to reread because i'm just. curious if modern day me will agree with the interpretations#of stan and kyle... like i loved this fic when i was 13 but well that was 13 years ago. so i mean. much has changed.#and honestly there have been what. like 100+ episodes of sp (including the specials n shit) since this fic was published in late 2011#so even literally just the canon and how that has shaped my ideas of stan & kyle has changed since then#blabbermouth
