What was the journey home like for you?
lonely. that was how link could describe the life after the quest , the epilogue from a journeys well deserved end. it was a superficial lonely ( but a feeling felt all the same ): while all of hyrule sung his praises and recorded his heroic deeds down in the history books --- a hero's greatest honor , right? link had lost much of his life and he could think of no word in the hylian language that could fully express just how he felt besides lonely. it was an ache that hollowed him more than his parents departure from this world for the next , it was a numbing sensation of being forced to die and being reborn in a circumstance that was a multitude of shades wrong. if asked he could say the more surface answer: he missed midna or the life he had before. but , it was something more depressing and far more terrifying for the ordonian: with saving hyrule , link no longer had the ability of choice. the bitter reality of being the gods chosen hero was that link ordona was no longer himself ( his purpose and life far extending in purpose and ability ): another incarnation for the soul of the hero , just another person who lacks the free will to do any different. saving lila and the ordon kids had meant that link took on the burden of also saving an entire kingdom --- that he was not even from , technically.
link could recall in those first days after everything had settled and zelda had begun to pick up the pieces of her broken kingdom that he was constantly surrounded by people. civilians so grateful to their savior , their hero. to link , nothing had changed for him. he was still just a ranch hand from ordon who took up sword fighting in his spare time and read through books as a thirsty man did water. but because he wore a special set of clothes , bore a piece of the mark of the royal family , and could pull the legendary master sword from its place in the scared grove --- these factors made others put him on this inhumane pedestal ( even moreso than his affinity for turning into a blue eyed beast ): it was during this moment that link knew he had no one else. sure , he had princess zelda , lila , rusl , and midna before she shattered the mirror but it did not matter how many flocked to link as goats to their shepard ( in fact it was being encompassed by everyone where link is the loneliest ): the hero of twilight realized that he had no one else to relate too nor confide in.
a hero was meant to be the ideal man , the most grandiose and perfect image of a savior. so , pray tell: when was link allowed to display any ounce of imperfection again? when was he allowed to falter? he was not and would never be again. even his voice was unbefitting of a hero of legend ( as some residents of castle town had spoken behind his back --- it did not make the blond anymore inclined to speak ): and was why link nestled into his internal loneliness , all of his traumas , and the comfort of mutism he had found a welcoming kind of salvation in. ❝ dis implies i evea wen back 'ome or had one. ❞ link returned to ordon physically. he herded the goats for fado as always , played with the kids (watched them grow up and get their own lives ): went to any and all political meeting when requested by zelda: but nothing for him was the same anymore. before being dragged into the twilight , link always had a choice in his bravery or courteousness. but now it was an expectation from everyone --- and it was a feeling link was drowning in , probably going to wallow and die in.
❝ it was loud. lotsa festivals n' feastin' n jus ... thankfulness? but i felt empty from it all n still do , ya know? comin' 'ome meant i was sumin' more than what i was before n dats fine n all but. ❞ link did not feel like he was anymore himself than he was a decade ago. sure he was stronger and more battle worn than before saving both realms --- though that didn't help his internal strife. who was link how outside being chosen by the gods? --- had he ever been his own self outside of simply being an incarnation to do a deities bidding? sometimes he wonders if everything about his life was a life: if everyone he's ever loved and cared for , too , been apart of something preordained far outside of his knowledge. the same overflow of information that had left link motionless at lanayru's light spring felt so cold to his skin ( those interlopers looked so much like him ): logically he knows it was to understand --- to give his brain an anchor to absorb the forbidden knowledge , but , it did not make the implications any better for his unease.
❝ can say i lef' ordon fora few days. i locked myself away. midna understood me n shade did too but they was gone and sometimes i think if meetin' her was my only decision. but maybe dats just anotha part of bein' a hero who ain't needed anymore. like loneliness is only something a heroic blue eyed beast can know. ❞ his eyes turn solemn and look downwards. ❝ i stopped talkin' too. so it was real lonely n quiet. yeah , i saved the world of light n shadow n it made my own silent , kinda tragic , right? ❞

@query-bot asked: What are your feelings on bugs?
"Bugs?" Link repeated, wanting to make sure he had heard the strange robot correctly. It wasn't exactly a strange question, but... well it did feel a bit odd to be asked that of all things.
"I don't really have much of a feelin' on them I guess. I mean, most of 'em just stick to themselves and do their own thing, an' they're just tryin' to survive. Same as anyone else." Sure, some of them could be annoy, and some could appear creepier and more unsettling than others, but they were all just trying to do their best to survive at the end of the day.
After a long moment he shrugged. "That's really all. I don't go out of my way lookin' for 'em, an' they don't bother me."

Shanz: What are your feelings on heights?
He froze.
After a good two seconds of recovery: "I do not like them, no sir. Put me on a ladder and I will panic. Put me over a bridge and I won't be able to turn my mind from the possibility, however remote, of falling. Put me on a sky island? Oh gods."
But there was more, after about five seconds. "It's... oddly appropriate, then, that, ever since I was a kid, I've had dreams where I could fly. I never flew high enough for my tastes in them, but it's been a recurring theme. I really wish I could. Maybe I wouldn't panic like hell. Or maybe I still would."
(Headcanon: Shanz has acrophobia.)

What is the most grievous wound you've sustained? How did you recover?
" If we're talking strictly physical wounds, I recall being impaled by Demise's sword. I'm... not really sure how I recovered or WHAT happened, honestly. It seemed as if time rewound to when last I prayed, and the only evidence it ever occurred was the scar upon my flesh. " Link scratches his cheek and laughs weakly, giving the questioner a shrug as if such a situation were common.

@query-bot said: Have you ever been caught sneaking out of the castle?
"Not yet. As they say, there is a first time for everything, but I would like to believe I am rather good at disguising myself."
During the Evil King's reign, she had passed herself off as a Sheikah. She'd used the Triforce's power to completely transform her entire being. However, nowadays she secretly left the castle as Elizabeth, a name chosen by the fact that it was her deceased mother's name. Something about it was special to her.
Her blue cloak concealed everything, and she used magic to disguise her voice. There had been none the wiser yet!
"I am certain the council would throw a fit if they found out I was not within the castle walls, but I am tired of being treated as a porcelain doll. I aided in the fight against Ganon too, I will not shatter at the slightest touch as they believe."
She could understand their feelings to an extent, she was the last surviving member of the Royal Family. Her bloodline would end with her if something bad were to happen. But didn't they understand her power? She'd held Ganon down with her own magic alone. The Demon King himself, held down by a petite, graceful woman.
It really did show that looks could be deceiving. Though she was beautiful, and held the grace of a Goddess, Zelda was a powerhouse. Speed was her biggest weakness.

"I have full intention on keeping things a secret. At least until I am older, when the council might not be so quick to get angry with me over it."

How proficient do you feel in magic? Do you have a favorite spell or incantation?
"I was not gifted with magics by birth, as some assume. My talents were gained through...unconventional means. What those means are, is no one's business but mine; However, I favor the use of shadows, as an extension of myself and my limbs."

Sidon, do you have any fears?
" Of course! Fears, I believe, push us to be stronger. To prevent those fears from becoming reality. " Sadly, quite a few of his already had, and everyday, he struggles to REMIND himself that there was nothing he could have possibly done to prevent it. " My biggest fear used to be losing my sister. Then it happened, and... everything changed. "
HE'D changed.
" That very same evening, I demanded training, much to my instructor's displeasure. She feared I would run myself ragged if I did not give myself an opportunity to properly grieve. It is, perhaps, the one and only time I have ever used my status to get my way. " Yet, despite the grimness of the topic, the grin that had won him many an admirer still shined brightly and unhindered. " Now, I fear failing and disappointing my sister as she watches and guides me from the heavenly waters. Even in death, my sister is my world... and I want nothing more than to make her, my father, and my people proud. "

How often do you take time to rest?
rest was not something that came easy to the hero of twilight , in fact , what was resting when an entire kingdom's salvation was placed on your back before you even had a say for or against such a burden? it was a luxury that was not afford to one such as he. light and shadow had mixed to bath the world in a orange haze that afflicted both sets of denizens. there where very few places that link could go to get rest without being too onguard ( because on high alert would he always be from the shadow beasts ): transfigured into the guise of a blue eyed beast under the veil of dusk and yet , the hunter was seemingly turned into prey. he would stay up for hours on end until his body physically could not handle being awake anymore and how much of a hero could he be if link miscalculated even for a moment due to sleep deprivation psychosis? not one worthy of the title --- even if he did not wish for it.
still , he ponders the question on his tongue before answering. link can recall with much vivid detail every moment when he'd reached the point of exhaustion a decade ago --- sometimes he still suffered from sleepless nights ( habits where harder to break than form ): the ordonain also knew the places that gave him reprise from the journey ( a light spirit's spring , the cave of ordeals --- under the watch of the fairy queen --- or telma at her bar ): resting at his home in ordon had become less so , as to not run the risk of bringing harm to those who had watched him grow and helped link become strong enough to even take on the task thrusted upon him ( weather he wanted it or not ): ordon was not apart of hyrule but had suffered by association of him being apart of the village and link would rather get lost in the blizzards of snow peak or the gerudo desert than take the risk of anything happening to ordon's community.
❝ not often , wheneva my mind lets me i suppos'. ❞ and those where far too true. even now , link wonders if returning to ordon was the best decision --- did the pros of him being surrounded by those he cherished outweigh the cons of another tragedy befalling ordon by proxy of being so close to hyrule ( and him being the gods chosen hero --- him carrying the spirit of the former hero be damned ): ❝ i rest in spirit spring's a lot or wheneva i visit auntie telma at her bar but , sleepin' issa lot harda and i gotta pass out ta like do it. ❞

@query-bot asked: Do you know how to sail? If so, how did you learn? If not, why not?
Well that certainly seemed like a question that had come out of thin air. Link blinked for a moment before pressing his lips together tightly, mulling over the question to come up with an answer to it.
"Not really. I've had to be on a boat only once or twice in my life; I've always felt far more comfortable with solid ground 'neath my feet. Doesn't seem to hard an' I'm sure I could figure it out, push came to shove, but I'm content bein' landlocked."
The ocean was far too big and it had far too many monsters that dwell beneath the surface. Exploring it could be left for adventures braver than he was.

Shanz: What's your most recent addition to your bra of holding?
Shanz frowned at the construct. "I guess you bots don't think much of social niceties. That's generally quite the pry. But since you really want to know?"
He reached into his shirt and dug around until he pulled out a green rupee. "I find these all over the place. In the grass, on the ground, wherever. I was warned that because Hyrulean wallets work much the same way as my binder does, so unfortunately, I can't just stuff a wallet in here." He slapped his chest. "Having two extradimensional spaces in the same spot causes bad things. As in, everything in either space gets thrown out of it, and then the two spaces are destroyed."
He replaced the green rupee. "My wallet is actually a decoy, since I stuff most of my actual funds in here."
(So that's a double headcanon here. Let me list this:
– Hyrulean wallets are extradimensional spaces like bags of holding, in just about the same way a binder of holding is. Hence Shanz's comment about collisions. – Shanz employs a decoy wallet to fake out pickpockets and thieves. What pickpocket would reach into his chest to get his funds, especially since, to the common eye, there don't even appear to be boobs in there?)

What does your ideal world look like?
"If you had asked me this before I became the Hero, I would have said something like how my ideal world would be one where everyone can be happy and I can nap all day."
"Now, however? An ideal world would be where everyone can live their lives freely and safely. One where no one has to worry about monsters or demons, and can easily travel between the surface and the sky. A world that doesn't need a hero - a world where I can be just some sleepy boy again."

If you could only choose one weapon, what would it be?
"An excellent question. As I was taught by General Aokar as a youth, and later my sister, Ehani--I prefer most of their method of battle, with a Scimitar. I do not use a shield, however, and my blade is larger and heavier than most; The initial impact is usually enough to stun, knock down, or if you are unprepared, slice in half."
