I've been lucky to have so many amazing readers make art out of pure inspiration/love of Resonant, but it's unlocked a hunger in me. 😅 I'm thinking of commissioning an art piece or two for Resonant as a belated birthday gift to myself, and perhaps again later as a Christmas gift.

So now I'm trying to figure out which moments would be my pick to capture and it's SO HARD.

My first choice technically isn't Resonant proper, it's a paragraph from Reverberate that I have been dying to see someone's rendition of.

Daemon bundled them into thick furs, taking care to make sure their heads and ears were covered, until only small wisps of black and silver escaped along the sides of their round little faces. He grinned at the sight of them swallowed by the furs, nearly spherical in either arm, and crept out with his bounty, both utterly silent for the entirety of the walk to Caraxes’s enclosure.

LITTLE SPHERICAL BABIES + DAEMON BEING GLEEFUL WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE.

So that's one. For the other(s) I'm considering:

(Ch2) Rhea gifting the bronze knives to the twins. I just would really love to see her with them.

(Ch13) Something from the scene where Daemon reaches the twins at last, though I'm not sure which. While he's swooping down and the twins are barely visible through the tall grasses? The first time he gathers them into his arms?

(Ch9) Daemon daring death to take him at the Stepstones to Caraxes's worry/fury.

(Ch7) Either the twins exchanging their name day gifts or the picnic.

(Ch23) The day trip to the Giant's Toe. Daemon + Laenor + kiddos playing in the water.

(Ch12 or Ch28) Too many candle moments to choose from. The first time the twins see the dragonglass candle perhaps? Or Daemon's trance in ch28.

(Ch19) Speaking of candle moments, the eerie lighting too of the debriefing scene in Viserys's chamber.

(Various) One of the many emotionally charged Daemon and Viserys scenes.

(Ch22) Alicent comforting Rhaegar.

(Ch20) Jon earning his "Quickhand" title in the yard.

(Ch5) The twins enjoying their daytrip outside the Gates of the Moon before Ser Thoren arrived and Crayne ruined everything.

(Ch31) Just a quiet evening with Daemon in the apartments, with him reading to them by the hearth.

If it were up to Tibarn, maybe a warning would be enough. Warnings were often enough, though Sothe was the stubborn sort. His dealings with the beorc boy were all in wartime, first as an enemy combatant that had the misfortune of being too close to the enemy commander, then as an ally. To see him here is a surprise to be sure. To see him getting into trouble less so.

ETERNAL ARTHUR SHIELDSTONE - The Millennium Saga [Firebreathers ; Echoseers ; Goddess-Touched]

They tell me he is Holy as they comb through my hair and titter over my presentation. They say he is sent to save us from the Great Decay, hand-picked by the Goddesses when his mother gave birth. That he is powerful in voice and mind, but needs a protector, and though the King wishes goodwill to the Ehlves, he does not want to risk his own guards to the perils the Chosen may face. So he has decided to send me, instead. Arthur the Defender, knight of House Shieldstone. Lowest in the social hierarchy, and newest to knighthood in all the kingdom.

Basics:

He/him - Cis man

Gay - 1015 [~1116 on Earth; appears anywhere from late 30s to late 50s]

Human - Allmage, Runesman, Alchemist (pioneered the discovery of alchemy)

Massively depressed, suffers from survivor's guilt.

Where he begins:

Arthur Shieldstone's impact on the world is forever tied with that of Tieling of Nimia - they were lovers, after all, when the world was supposed to end. Stories still circle of Sir Shieldstone, the bravest knight of Avatica and the best king who ever ruled.

But he is not a king; he never wanted to be. He is not a knight, either; he only became one because it was expected.

The only significance he ever wanted was to be a part of Tieling's life, and now he regrets even that.

When we meet him at the University of Avatica, a place he helped build many long centuries ago and has taught in ever since, he refuses to even look at Tieling in the flesh. He is deep in regret for things no one else knows, and though he clearly wishes to die, it is no longer an option.

So he will wallow instead.

What he finds himself confronting:

As much as he wishes to never again face what the Three have done, there are some things that cannot be escaped. And when those he invited to recover under his care are attacked, he comes close to being responsible for even more death than he can carry.

It is just one straw, but it is the one that breaks him.

It's just one, but there were eighty thousand lives he could have saved.

There are millions more now. And if he does not say something, they will be lost too.

And he will still remain.

it's been a full year anniversary for this particular blog. I might slowly start coming back here and answering things I owe while accepting new ask memes.

For a month or so, I'd just lost energy and taste for tumblr. It's a lot to keep up with ( esp with the site changing literally all the time ) to the point I wasn't really having much fun with it. I love writing Hikari and for the past little while, I had only really been writing her in some personal discord servers that used a quickhand style that helped a lot to foster muse. I do miss the longer stuff though.

Keep in mind that I haven't stopped being here literally at all-- I just hadn't posted. I have been lurking the entire time :D

#35, wildcard: how do you keep yourself in character with who you're writing about? Do you have any kind of quickhand reference books/notes, or does it just come naturally? (It's always my major roadblock to cohesively writing ANYTHING which is why my wips stay wips and my ao3 continues to gather dust aha.)

...tea usually, but if the brain fog is too much then coffee. Red Bull is only i'm pulling a double duty with studying. Oh, I recently got lavender, so I've been boiling it in the pot (don't @ me I had to give away my electric kettle) and then strain it and drown with honey.

16. What do you struggle with most when writing?

Fucking action. Oh, dialogue is easy for me. But action....I have no idea. I have to go back and edit it all the time.

Oh, for Ayrton it's just a total mental collapse into him. I have my little mantra. Think unhinged thoughts, think about how much you need to win. You need to make this perfect. God is the only one you are humble before. Give yourself an anxiety attack. Drink two espresso shots and write. You are addicted to the greatest sport in the world, you need to beat him to the ground. You're your country's only hope. You are not friends with him, even when he smiled. Alain is a little more easy but I feel like have a sheet of glass between me and him. I control him, he doesn't control me. Unlike Ayrton who is a dick and keeps making me write more than i should.

No... I said it couldn't be done alone, nor would I want to. You do not need to look far down the trail to understand why I know what this is and how to do the thing that has not yet happened. The prophecy fulfilment reckoning, for one and all.
