Hi! I just have a question, will the quinn/brady story be on pause while you post Jack/Nico or are you going to update both of them?

Great question! I just reviewed the chronology, and I think the posting order from here on out is:

Jack chapter 1

Jack chapter 2

Quinn chapter 8

Jack chapter 3

Jack chapter 4 (final chapter)

Quinn chapters 9-13 (if I keep his chapter breaks in the same place as they are in the draft)

So Quinn posting won't be paused entirely, but it will be slowed down. I was a bit torn on how to post these stories, since chronologically there is heavy overlap/duplication, and so for reader convenience, they should maybe be one story with the chapters in this order. But narratively they are definitely two separate arcs, so I decided to split them up so that each feels like a satisfying story on its own. I think I'll just add chapter notes for people who want to read the completed stories without being spoiled for either. 😅

Me, rare pair central, literally went "brain empty no thoughts" when asked to pick one of her choosing. I'm going with an underrated classic

It had been Brady's idea, to get the chocolate eggs.

Quinn hadn't had one since he'd been a kid, but Brady had spotted them at the store, two lone eggs forgotten on one of the lower shelves, and had grabbed them both, one for each of them.

Now, Quinn sits on the bench Brady had dragged him to, eating his egg slowly with the tiny plastic spoon, that always leaves his fingers sticky for some reason, while Brady fights the tiny toy beside him.

With a cry of triumph, Brady presents Quinn with the product of his hard work: a plastic ring, so colourful it's almost painful to watch.

Impatient, Brady gestures for Quinn to extend his hand towards him, palm up, and deposits the ring in it.

"There," he says, satisfaction rolling from him in waves. "One day I'll get you a real one, but for the time being...," he trails off as he turns back to his own egg, and fails to see the way Quinn's face heats up.

this is one of my oldest and also one of my favorite wips. it doesn't have a ton written for it but every time i reread it i'm always like hmmmmmm this could be good!!!

and then i don't write anything for it haha.

a lil snippet below the cut. it's from brady's pov/brady's excerpt, cause i decided to go with quinn's pov for the actual fic, but i still really like it and might repurpose (or go back to his pov idk)

Brady knows he isn’t a perfect person.

He’s too loud. He tends to be honest to a fault. He could probably control his temper more during games, or so he’s been told.

But he likes to at least think he’s a good friend. A great one, even. He prides himself on that.

Which makes this new found desire to kiss Quinn Hughes really fucking annoying.

He absolutely, definitely, one-hundo percent cannot do anything about it. Their friendship is too important. Quinn is too important. 

It’s just once Brady realized he likes kissing boys–he’s going to thank the tequila for that one–he realized actually, maybe the only person he wants to kiss is Quinn. 

Maybe he’s wanted it for a long time.

But he isn’t going to do anything about it. Obviously.

It’s just annoying, is all.

I saw you making gestures at a fantasy knight quinnbrady au and as an ardent tamora pierce fan I'm thinking sooooooooooo hard about that. do they gently dress each other when they're on the road? do they ever share a bedroll (an essential of the genre)? any fun magical animal side characters? do either of them have powers? how do they intimately save each other's lives? what about lovingly dressing each other's wounds? lingering touches too delicate for their hands that are so adept at killing?

most importantly is Quinn a girl? does she hide it? how does Brady find out?

oh gosh anon. tbc some of this is chatfic that will likely stay in the dms but also i think about them as knights on a uhhhh daily basis tbh. there's so much good material with loyalty (to family, to a cause, to each other) and like, tender wound care, and protecting each other even maybe when it isn't wanted or needed, and chivalry, and also like. they cOULD and SHOULD fuck in a tent while on a lonely quest in the woods.

as an ardent tamora pierce fan i do love the idea of secretly a girl!quinn but i think it doesn't hit quite as well for personality reasons as alanna. she'd be a great kel analogue tho. i'm just gonna be a knight because i wanna and anyone who disagrees with me can kick rocks because i'm gonna do it. thanks bye. and then brady is out there like yeah that is my best friend who is gonna be the best knight to ever do it :) also i've wanted to marry her since i was 12 but that's irrelevant :)

not the tkachuckcest anon, BUT.... as a big enthusiast, of both cest, and timbrady, AND timmatty, AND quinnbrady, AND quinnmatt.... the vibes are SO different between matt and brady both sleeping with quinn, and both of them sleeping with timmy.

with quinn its an "im fucking my younger brothers best friend" and "my brother (and i) are fucking my best friend" which is taboo but not ultimately THAT "bad" in terms of like... social pressure?? (wrong word, can't think of a better one)

with timmy its "im fucking my younger brothers boyfriend" and "my brother is fucking my boyfriend" which is FAR more taboo, and is where 'more' jealousy can form, or well maybe not more, because bff fucking is also jealousy central, but the jealousy formed when fucking your brothers boyfriend/boyfriend fucking your brother toes the 'cest line more then the bff fucking. PLUS it tim and brady being in a relationship adds some emotions, that make it more likely to have 'cest vibes.

both are delicious tropes, that when you add a hint/dash/sprinkling of 'cest, well.... perfection.

i agree with this assessment but i would like to add to your topics of discussion that i love a concept where tim and matthew start sleeping together because tim thinks brady isn't into him and then it turns out that brady is into him but it's not like this is a defined thing so he also doesn't stop sleeping with matthew

3. What’s a fic idea that you have but haven’t written yet?

really wanna write quinnbrady!! i have this 5+1 things idea for them that i think could be really cute but it's been sitting in an idea doc for months and months. i also still really like the chef-nate/pastry-chef cale au idea i had a bit ago but honestly probably won't ever write it. it lives in my brain tho.

oh gosh. the way i have simply forgotten every single thing i've ever written ever as soon as i publish it hahaha.

yessss 100%.

i make people smile and grin way too much. it's a crutch for sure that i do my best to go through and edit lmfao.

latest one i've noticed is i tend to start scenes with doors opening. so, trying to do that less.

go-to imagery of mine is fire i feel like.

i'm sure there are tons of others but those are the ones that came to mind

Linsky my beloved. I noticed you posted Jack’s and Quinn’s stories at the same time. Is it supposed to be like a tandem read or am I okay to read Quinn’s and then Jack’s?

So I did! They do have heavy overlap. I think there's an ideal way to read them -- a tandem read, as you termed it -- and then there's a much more normal and still fine way to read them. I will let you make your choice.

If you want to read them in more or less chronological order without jumping between stories too much (this is probably how I'll print them in the physical wolfverse books):

Quinn chapters 1-7

All of Jack

Quinn chapters 8-end

If you want to be REALLY EXCEPTIONALLY CHRONOLOGICAL (this is the order in which I posted them):

Quinn chapters 1-7

Jack chapters 1-2

Quinn chapter 8

Jack chapters 3-end

Quinn chapters 9-end

But that is a lot. I don't really expect people to bounce back and forth between the stories like that. Here's what I would recommend for a much easier read (this is their current order in the series):

You could also read them in the opposite order, but Quinn's story spoils Jack's much more than the other way around, which is why I reordered the series to put Jack's first. Choose your level of chronologicalness from this list!
