if they found out that cerces was tagging along with anaxa, they would absolutely jump at the opportunity to speak with them, because like… you’re telling me what’s the titan of reason? THE titan of REASON? and you’re expecting me to BE NORMAL ABOUT IT? it’s such a prime opportunity for them to ask questions and would definitely set their curiosity ablaze.

in addition to being slightly annoyed by the never-ending chatter, i can see anaxa getting low-key jealous as well… not super jealous, no, but a little irked by the fact that they’re talking to cerces more than him. he’s supposed to be their conversational partner. not cerces. him.

What was the young adults (Nessa, Raihan, Sonia, Leon, etc.) gym challenge like in Legendsverse when they were younger?

And any foreshadowing or hints to Eternatus?

I'm stilllllll figuring that out, especially bc it's been a while since I exactly expressed my ideas of what they were like back then. I'm gonna focus on Leon, Sonia, Raihan and Nessa. Maaaaaybe Piers. We'll see. This will be long so buckle up!

Leon and Sonia are gonna get grouped together for now bc man. The parallels. I haven't fully decided who endorsed them. I wasn't sure if I wanted Leon to be endorsed by Rose and Sonia by someone else, or if Rose endorsed Sonia ( like in the manga) and Mustard endorsed Leon ( old friend of Gerardo, mayhaps?). The point being that these two went on their gym challenge together.

Sonia was the better trainer.

....At first. Sonia was someone who Leon could not beat when they were younger, and in the earlier part of their journey she really was the better trainer, and favorite of the media. Of course, among the favorites, there were plenty of people who called her a nepo baby and thought she was ruining the sport. Leon wasn't that shabby of a battler. But in terms of skill,back then, he wasn't as good as Sonia. But what he did have was passion and determination. Leon knew from the jump what his goals are. He wants to become champion and he wants Galar to become stronger for it. So even if he wasn't as skilled as Sonia ( yet) he was going to claw his way to that top just everyone. And people noticed that. That fiery passion, that light that he had. It was a much more gradual buildup compared to the success of Sonia who was kinda hit with everything from the jump ( can't imagine that really helped with her enjoyment of the gym challenge),and once Leon started going he could not be stopped. And when you just keep going, someone has to get left behind right?

Personality wise, again something I haven't fully thought of. I used to like the idea that Leon was shy, but I think it fits him more that he was always this full of energy and ....I dunno expressive? But also hard to read. Someone who's determined, who's passionate, who has a good laugh, but you always don't know what he's thinking. That. Sonia....I feel she used to be rather confident in herself. Dare I say, she might have been a smart alek back then,willing to "um actually" someone ( Raihan. It was Raihan). But she was still Sonia. She was still awkward, and kinda uncertain of herself at times. She has a tendency to get in her head that just keeps her stuck - oh hey Hop, what are you doing here? ( This kid and his many parallels).

Where Leon gradually became a force that could not stop, Sonia....well. The gym challenge was wearing her down. Like I said, she has a tendency to get stuck in her head. She would make battle plans, said plans fell apart, and she was left floundering her way through a battle. Everyone's eyes were on her and....and all her friends were so bright. Leon was so bright. They all were bright. They all knew what they wanted....did she know what she wanted? When was the last time she enjoyed a pokemon battle? ......

I'm of the mind that Sonia dropped out of the league around the 7th gym, so at Melony's gym. She had won, said gym, but at that point she could have sent herself that she wasn't having fun and just felt. Lost. Her friends were also so far ahead too so. No way she can make a comeback now, huh? I think this is when her and Leon's friendship breaks bc just like Hop and Naomi, it's been them. Sonia and Leon, against the world. I can't imagine what it's like watching your best friend give up ( even if in the long run, it was literally the best option for her mentally), having that friend just. Close herself in. And there's already a big gap between Sonia and Leon by this point, so when Leon turns around to check on her, not only is she far away, but she's most likely walking in the opposite direction. Or at the very least, too far away for him to reach. It's been awkward after that. But this is about the gym challenge so. Story for another time.

Raihan....oh Raihan. It's been years and I still haven't figured out a solid backstory for him. It's driving me insane. So for simplicity sake, I'm gonna say he was endorsed by the old gym leader of Hammerlocke gym. What's their relationship exactly? No clue, and we're not gonna talk about it right now. Kid Raihan....well tbh, I've always seen him as a little chill, but have a very mean mischievous streak. A pure agent of chaos that one. He was a bit more.... rambunctious (?) back then. Kiiiinda wore his heart on his sleeve more and reacted as such- but overall, really chill. Sometimes had to be the voice of reason for Sonia and Leon ( which is incredibly funny since he is most likely the one that put bad ideas in their head/ goad them into trouble. The duality of this kid). Sonia and him would get on each other's nerves and bicker a lot bc their both smart ass kids, and depending on the subject one is more chill than the other. But it gradually just became custom for them and a form of affection! They both ended up becoming the others impulse control. Raihan and Leon.....Leon kept beating him. And despite how chill he is, Raihan has pride, so each loss just makes him more frustrated. Fortunately, Leon being Leon smoothed things over - he honestly couldn't bring himself to be so mad. Plus, their rivalry was fun! They kept each other on their toes, each move being done with great intensity and vigor. Raihan had a goal to one up Leon one day and Leon would embrace it fully. ( Leon being Champion kinda. Sullied that notion. It still exists, but with lots of outside factors going into it, specifically that their rivalry is now treated as something for others to consume and watch, not just two friends who wanted to see each other grow stronger and try and best each other). In the end Raihan was the one that faced off Leon for the champion title....and lost. And honestly, I think. He reacted pretty badly. I can't blame him, he's a kid, his loss was in public for everyone to see, and he worked so hard- I do not blame him for reacting badly. But man did it make things tense between him and Leon. Even when things settled down, and the initial issue was gone, that tenseness never fully went away, but that's getting way ahead of the gym challenge. Overall, Raihan was that chill but very mischievous friend that loved to bicker with Sonia about history and battle Leon to be the best.

Nessa....I don't have much for her outside of this very specific thing: she was competitive as fuck and a bit of a hot head. I see her carrying herself with so much dignity that the other three could not help but move aside when she was walked by. Leon and Raihan found her intimidating/scary. Sonia found her criminally pretty. I actually think it was Sonia that had Nessa integrated into their little group. Not that Leon and Raihan didn't interact with her, but Sonia was the one that couldn't help but want to get to know her. I mean, she was so confident! How on earth can she be able to walk by like she owned the place. She had to figure it out. ( Raihan: Or you just folded at the first pretty face you saw. Leon: Pfft- Sonia: SHUT UP!!!). They actually became fast friends! Nessa was friendly, if not a bit more stern about the gym challenge ( "quite fooling around and take this seriously!" <- something I can see her saying). Leon and her actually ended up getting along REALLY well! I think it's the market kids bonding over their families respective trade - humble beginnings I suppose. Raihan pissed her off a lot though. One minute they could be having a normal friendly conversation and the next, Raihan is laughing his ass off while Nessa is shaking him by his shirt. And yeah! I'm not sure when she got eliminated - yes eliminated, Nessa is not someone to quit imo. Maybe during the champion cup, maybe somewhere else. But I think she had a really good run! I can actually see her being the one to encourage Sonia to quit her gym challenge, since she saw how unhappy it was making her. I think the promise that they'll still be friends and Nessa cares more about Sonia's happiness kinda just cemented the feelings Sonia had, both platonically and romantically. Nessa is a good good friend to Sonia,even past the gym challenge and years to come.

Yeaaaaah, I'm not doing Piers I don't have much for him. I do think it was Raihan that befriended him first! I feel like he was very much that friend of a friend that didn't reallllly hang out with the others as often but would still get dragged into their shenanigans and was genuinely part of the group. He was the closest to Raihan, but still gave every one cute lil nicknames :3

And finally: Eternatus is weird timeline wise. I don't think Rose got it around the time Leon became champion. I feel that happens some years into Leon's career? Maybe in his teens. So during the gym challenge, Eternatus was still very much a fossil.....but here's an idea. Leon gets lost. Like he usually does. But it's worse here, because he's lost within the deeper levels of the Galar mines. Charmeleon is with him, so he can see, and he's fairly confident in his ability to handle the wild pokemon....but it still sucks. ( It's moments like these that makes him wish that the Galar Rangers are still a thing. Wish that his dad was there to guide him). So he's still wandering around, trying to get himself out of this strange situation....and then he sees it. On the wall,a giant fossil. Or at least, a piece of a fossil? He can't really say but it's there. Right before him. Has anyone ever seen it before? He is rather deep into the mine- he's pretty sure he's not supposed to even be there. Sonia would love to get a look at it.....he can't seem to turn his eyes away. There's something about the fossil. Something.... daunting. Something heavy. It makes his stomach sink, and he feels himself shutter a little but he can't look away. It wouldn't be until Charmeleon takes a hold of Leon's hand , looking at it's trainer with concern. Leon smiles, even if it's clearly nervous, thanks Charmeleon and turns away from the fossil. He eventually does get out of the caves, gets scolded by Sonia and Raihan and goes among his merry way. He forgets about the fossil by then. Though maybe it's still there, at the back of his mind. Maybe that's why, when he sees it again, it feels so familiar.

What do your Rejuv ocs think of Nymiera?

My Nymiera lore is rusty, bare with me.

Imani - Complicated. Used to admire her and still does to an extent but seeing her actions in how she recruited the other guardians left a sour taste in her mouth. A small part of her hopes that she doesn't end up like that. Another part of her worries if that's a childish notion.

Flynn - Never met the woman. This answer kinda depends on Flynn and if she's the type to read history books. This also depends on if Nymiera was in the history books lol. If yes to both ( I did give Flynn the title of Lore Keeper, so I feel like it would make sense), then there's definitely some fascination with Nymiera, but nothing much to form a solid opinion. If Imani ever tells Flynn about her adventures there is an academic interest to learn more! I dunno if Imani tells Flynn the things she learned though. Maybe keep that perception a bit of a happier one.

Arrow - Being best friends with her descendants, I can see Arrow knowing of Nymiera vaguely. Maybe her name came up in passing, maybe Alexandra or Damien talked about her a bit with them/ with each other and they were just their listening. I can't really say for sure, so. Vague knowledge of her. That being said, I. Think. Arrow goes to the past with Imani during a conflicting renunion. I can't fully remember if that's something I planned out but under the idea that they did,they would have met Nymeria. I think most of their perception of her is mostly from then. I think Arrow would take the opportunity to get to know her more, even just a little. I think overall Arrow thinks positively of her :)

I have my renegade ocs to consider but I'm not sure if it would be riveting commentary. Will kinda feels similar to Imani, expect maybe a lot more sour? I don't know if Renegade allows you to do those string of side quests so maybe Will doesn't fully know. Myo doesn't give a fuck, though they guess they're thankful that Kanon had a parent that didn't see them as a thing/ not as a what if for someone else. Isador is tricky bc I don't know if they met, and thus my default answer is that he doesn't care. Probably thinks it's a little funny how hard she worked to save the world, only to have it mount to nothing.

I mean I get that’s it’s not the only contributing factor, but I’m curious exactly how much of the shelter dog over-population problem is actually due to poor dog ownership/management vs the housing crisis and economical stress. I’d be willing to bet by investing in social programs that give people the resources they need to care for their pets (cough cough affordable and free housing cough cough) that the amount of pets in shelters would dramatically drop. We can all sit here pointing fingers and screaming at each other until we are blue in the face, but if the owners basic needs are not being met, how can we hold them to a basic standard for their pets?

eyyyy any Socrates!reader head cannons when in partnership with anaxa?

okay… this is a difficult one, because if by ‘partnership’ you mean a romantic relationship, they don’t ever have an ‘official’ one. admittedly, you might not mean that, which is easier to answer, so here are a couple about their general dynamic (which does involve some more romantic elements):

the two of them vacillate between intense philosophical debate and being completely chill. like, you’ll see them discussing whether or not free will exists for two hours straight, leaving the argument at the pinnacle of a tense, inconclusive point of contention, only for the reader to be like ‘hey do you want to get lunch’ and anaxa to be like ‘sure’. and then off they go together, talking about student drama or something. tldr: they are, like, the only people on the same wavelength in the entire grove, for better or for worse.

the reader has half-kind-of-unofficially moved in with anaxa. they don’t have a home or any place to stay of their own (which is why you can find them sleeping on random patches of grass from time to time), but after a few incidents, such as them getting sick (which i wrote a oneshot about on my main blog) or eaten alive by mosquitoes or that sort of thing, anaxa got exasperated to the point basically adopting them. so now they live together. kind of.

because they half-kind-of-unofficially live together, this has facilitated their tendency to get into philosophical discussion even further, at the detriment of their sleep schedules. with nobody to interrupt them, they’ll be up until five talking about the titans and human nature and any number of topics before collapsing unceremoniously into a few odd hours of sleep, after which anaxa has to rise to prepare his classes and the reader stays snoring on until midday.

the reader also generally has no sleep schedule whatsoever. this is another reason why you will stumble upon them napping in the middle of wherever at 2pm. whenever they get tired, they just drop. it’s impressive, really. they’re also a really deep sleeper, so good luck getting them to budge. (this isn’t to say that anaxa ever had a stable sleep schedule either, but he did have some vague semblance of structure before they moved in, private research periods exempt from this. now that’s gone utterly down the drain. whoops.)

they care for each other a lot more than they’d readily let on, and the reader is better at hiding this than anaxa. anaxa thinks himself a master of putting on airs and pretending he doesn’t care when in reality he does, and to some extent he’s right, but there are a few tells which betray his true feelings: the way he makes reference to them in conversation with others, the way his attention is absorbed by them when they speak, the mere fact that he spends as much time with them as he does without getting tired of them or irritated.

the reader, on the other hand, is so good at this deception that they’ve practically fooled themselves. anaxa is yearning more than he’d like to admit, even though he doesn’t always understand or identify precisely what he’s feeling; the reader knows exactly how they feel about anaxa, but rather sadly, they’ve made the conscious choice not to pursue those feelings/ a romantic relationship with him, because they’re wary of how engaging with those emotions will affect their clarity of mind and their focus.

in another universe where they weren’t so incredibly set on their quest for truth, or where someone managed to convince them that welcoming their own desire does not necessarily infringe upon their pursuit, i can see them acting more on their feelings and making some actual moves on anaxa. for example, if you could convince them that what is preventing them from pursuing their emotions—fear, or at least apprehension—is on irrational grounds and not a legitimate basis for making decisions, you might be able to sway them.

also, in that universe, they have makeout sessions galore, trust me. they strike me as both 0 or 100 kind of people: they’ll go months without feeling the need to engage in any Ungodly Activities, and then one day they just. flick the switch and end up eating each other’s faces off in an empty lecture hall. and then afterwards they part in a perfectly cordial and decorous manner as if nothing ever happened and go about their lives for the next few months until it happens again.

unfortunately, this isn’t that universe. so, anaxa is doomed to love in vain, and the reader to knowingly cut him off at the price of their own satisfaction. truly a happy couple <3

Whether or not Leon in Legendsverse during his gym challenge could sense Eternatus from a distance is up to debate. But after finding its bones. Let's assume some time passes like five years or more? Because it'll take time to excavate the bones, make plans, set things up, and transport them.

What if teenage Leon steps into Hammerlocke Castle one day, after Macro Cosmos has finished building the power producer, and a massive chill goes down his spine? He has no idea what that was or why it felt familiar. He reasons a ghost pokemon must've pranked him.

That's how I've been seeing it, yeah. I still need to figure out when exactly Eternatus is taken, and when it was first initially revived. Because in my head, Eternatus' revival would have caused a power outage alone, since it would honestly take a lot to revive the old dragon. Maybe they got it when Leon was midway in his champion career. Let's say 15. While there is certainly technology that can revive fossils of any kind, Eternatus was proving to be more tedious. Maybe they were failed attempts, and they would never really push it bc they didn't want to gain attention. Ooooo maybe they even hire the likes of Cara-Liss....though that work relationship would be short ( as in they would let her go when the revival was a success). Anyway, when they do revive Eternatus ( this could be a year after they successfully were able to bring it to the energy plant), it had caused momentary power outage across Galar. Whoops! Thankfully they have backups, so it only lasted a few minutes but. Whoops! Didn't expect that to happen! Why does Eternatus still look dead. Problems upon problems.....

.....this what if is entirely not the point of this ask LMAO. Sorry about that. Ahem. ANYWAY.

Yeah, I've had a similar idea! A teen Leon just a big chill down his spine when visiting Raihan for a match ( and official match. Casual battles between them don't really. Happen that often anymore). He doesn't know why this is happening, he assumes that maybe one of his ghosts is pranking him????? But they're in their ball...maybe Hammerlocke Stadium is absurdly cold today. That was to be it.

The alternative route is Leon.... actually being shown Eternatus. Maybe when it's revived and not looking dead( well. Not looking completely stiff). The feeling he felt when he was on his gym challenge and stumbled upon that Eternatus fossil on the wall came back and it's worse because it was actually looking at him. Weakly, of course but it was looking at him. It was terrifying. And yet....stuck in a giant ball. Weak. In his fear he also felt. Something. He couldn't tell what, back then. But as Rose started to give him more, albeit still vague, information about his plans, what Leon himself had a role to play throughout the years that something became....Sadness? To be trapped and used....it feels a bit familiar. Just a bit.

Of course, all of that has a big ol WIP stamp on it. Given there's another factor at play, the "Royal" Twins, the partnership they have with Rose as well as the backstabbing each side is willing to do. Maybe Rose showing Leon is Rose gaining his ace in the hole. Or maybe Leon never saw Eternatus during his teens, and was just made aware of it that year. A lot to consider!

Hmmmmm, I would say Suraya? On the account that it wasnt until Reborn she really asked herself what she wanted out of her life. And when that happened, she pretty much took the steps to eventually achieve it. It's moreso asserting herself for herself instead of other. That isn't to say she's perfect, she has a nasty habit of shoulder a lot on her own, but you know. Baby steps.

I would say nightingale too, but i feeellll like i need more time with her before saying that. I do think, at least compared to leo, they got their shit together, trauma and all.
