Hey, I’m a graduating x-ray student. I ran across your blog by searching up x ray registry and your post about getting an 89 on your preliminary test popped up. I wanted to ask you what study materials did you use and any tips on studying for the registry Congratulations on graduating and becoming a tech!
I am responding to this a bit late. I apologize! So the board exams questions are primarily procedures bases. I would suggest getting your positions and anatomy down back and focus on the exams are you aren't very confident in! For me I had the hardest time with skull exams related questions because of how few and far in between they were.
Radtech boot camp with clover learning is great, honestly. They cover everything you'll need to know regarding radiology along with the little things you don't think about much like disease control and how to properly dawn a gown, gloves, and respiratory! It's also written in a very straightforward and simple manner that breaks down concepts pretty well. Its vidoe based and also includes some text to follow that covers the topics in the section if you don't wanna watch videos. Its about 300 dollars for a year access and they also offer CT and MRI courses if your interested! I know you probably just want to finish xray school but it's a physical job that can be taxing on your body in the long term!
My school's preliminary exams were though HESI. Significantly harder than the actual boards exams. It gives you feed back on why your answers were wrong and breaks down the concepts very detailed. You'll be overprepared, and thats exactly what you want!
Also linking the quizlet version because it's basicly free! I wish you luck with xray school! Don't let them exploit you and night shift rules! You get paid a lil more and don't do as much fluro. Sugery cases get real easy when you are getting paid to just stand around for a few hours when you could be holding down a elderly dementia patient who's not sitting still for a pelvis xray on a bed that has only one sheet and the mattress is soft. Sorry for any typos!

As much as I enjoyed getting to know my classmates from my Xray program, the incoming messages of them saying that they just passed their boards when I have to wait until September to take it (first availability I was able to find) is going to discourage me and make me feel even more pressured than how I already feel, so I decided just to delete WhatsApp
I’m making it a point to study every day and use the resources I have, I bought RadTech bootcamp and I heard really good things about it so I plan on understanding these concepts like it’s the Bible by the time I take this fucking exam
