The way Adventure Time writes relationships is so realistic but also so, so tragic. Like, Betty and Simon were deeply in love, they'd do anything for each other, but 'doing anything' for each other manifests in self destructive behavior in the attempt to help the other.

Martin and Minerva worked so well together. Martin wanted to become a genuinely better person after Min bailed him out their first meeting. He tried so hard! To become a completely different person, to change his ways for Minerva and then later Finn who he so obviously cared about as an infant. Then when his past catches up to him it all falls apart. They loose their son and he looses his character development. He starts running away, Minerva gets sick and starts trying to keep living to help everyone else. No one has the full story of what happened between them.

There re so many other examples, like Marceline and Simon, Bonnie and Marceline. How Jake's death affected both Prismo and Finn, it's just ARGH I love this show so much

One of the funny things about reading Brandon Sanderson's cosmere novels is that, more often than not, reading the wiki will not spoil anything because none of the new information makes any sense. Towards the end of The Hero of Ages I looked something up about Ruin cause I was curious if it was ever clarified (I won't say what, it's a minor spoiler) and was immediately bombarded with information about Dawnshards and Investiture and names of planets and it left me with far more questions than answers. If there was a spoiler in there it was beyond my comprehension so I couldn't recognize it as such

when u go to write a mentally ill person in ur story you are presented two options. the first option is to write your mental illness realistically as you actually experience it with all the ups and downs and people who are like you will resonate with it and feel seen. except every person who reads instagram infographics on mental health that uses the phrase narcicisst for anyone who does anything that crosses them and unironically call themself a dark empath will call you scary and tell you that youre demonizing mentally ill people

everyone should attempt an artisan craft at some point in their life because it would cut down the number of comments questioning why handmade goods like ceramics or textile craft or woodworking are so expensive

and this is an unrealistic expectation, but I think the attempt should include seeing through to the end at least one "finished" item, no matter how clumsy or lumpy your first attempts might be. like to me, there's a huge difference in perspective between attempting to learn how to crochet or throw a pot for a few days, acknowledging that it's harder than it looks and giving up, versus committing to finishing that scarf or clay pot you started and working on it for weeks while you painstakingly learn from your mistakes and grow attached to your project while also simultaneously hating it.

once you finish the latter, your perspective changes from "why does this crocheted blanket cost $200" to "holy shit I can't believe they're charging $200 for this crocheted blanket instead of $2000" because you may have known crocheting is hard, you may have easily agreed with the idea that "handmade goods take time and effort" even before attempting a craft, but now you know firsthand the absolute time sink it takes to make things. like yeah dude, that one item took you 2 months to make and probably wasn't even an ultra complex item if it was the first thing you made, now imagine attaching an hourly wage to that time to calculate the cost (and this is ignoring every nuance of the artistic element and master crafters being able to work faster/charge higher because of their years and years of experience)

anyway this rant has been motivated by a comment I saw on someone else's ceramic post asking why a mug was $60 and they understand it's handmade but $60 just seems overpriced, and bro do you know how long ceramics take to make. that mug probably took at minimum 3 weeks between how long it takes to throw the mug, dry partially, trim the mug, dry fully, bisque fire, wait a day for the kiln to cool, sand and paint and glaze, glaze fire, wait a day for the kiln to cool, take product photography of the mug, write description and list the mug online for sale, im not even including the skill needed to complete all these steps without the mug literally exploding or collapsing while also making it an appealing piece of art, aaaaaaaaaaaaa

From an Adventure rank 57, World level 8 Genshin player, who's been playing a little over a year,

It's a video game.

Do your daily commissions, complete some battle pass stuff, which sometimes also means doing the events, and your Archon quests (if you still have any). That's about 30 minutes of your daily life right there.

When you have extra free time, maybe do some story, hangout, and world quests for the primos. And finally, exploration. All at your own pace. There's plenty to do if you haven't been playing since the beginning or 24/7.

Worry about your irl stuff more, whether that's school, work, family, your physical health, etc. Stay hydrated.

Okay, but real talk.

If you're genuinely/actively introducing yourself to ask for build/team advice, I'd be willing to help. No cap. But don't assume good faith if you just fire questions at me. Don't start with some shit like, "That's a weird choice of gear you made here... where are you playing him (my DPS Kaveh build)?"

I create "strange" and "unusual" characters/team comps to satisfy my love of my favorite characters.

People seem to "conveniently forget" that Genshin is an open world game where you can do WHATEVER you want (within the game's programming, of course). So, if people can't get creative with the RNG, i.e. whatever the gacha gives them, that's their own fault. Build characters to the meta. If you want, I'm not saying not to. But please do your own research to find out the best builds for you before tossing questions out like confetti.

Yes, I'm still getting gripe for my Kavetham comps, heavy on the Kaveh part. I'm building his DPS build right now* and WOW. 🙄 DPS Kaveh doesn't need to be played as a bloom bot or in a spread team.
