SUNDAY FUNDAY!!! conference and stress about it was over, i got some good news about an exam i missed that had originally tanked my mood, and i was ready to make up for it with a virtual arena meet-up for IIDX!!! gotta love me some IIDX,,, so i asked for a few suggestions (only got one), set myself a really funky goal you'll see later, and hopped onto the cab to play some songs and improve some scores: Dreamchu [SPA-10] AA + HC, BLACK JACKAL [SPA-10] EC (at last), and a new EC on Fascination MAXX [SPH-11] as the single suggestion i got!!!

and so it began... the event!! the highlight of the session, the goal i set for myself that i mentioned earlier, and a true test of my skill after my previous 7th dan clear... it was 8th dan!!! my first shot at Pinky Crush's 8th, dan, with admittedly pretty easy first three songs followed by the absolute monster that is BRAINSTORM [SPA-11]. but alas, i pushed on any ways and got a sick AA on SigSig [SPA-10] plus a sightread AA- on Choe choe magica [SPA-11] before the final song came... and to my absolute shock (as i couldn't even AEC it earlier in standard play), I CLEARED IT!!! very cheesy, sure, but hey!! an A is an A, and a dan clear is a dan clear!! I'M NOW PINKY CRUSH 8TH DAN!!!! and to celebrate, another set where i got an AA on HELL or HELL [SPH-10], and a new super clutch clear on ALL MY TURN [SPA-11]!!!

sdvx jumpscare (only +0.001 VF from an AAA Excessive Clear on CENSORED!! [EXH-17], today was just not my day sdvx-wise,,,)

somewhat disappointed with sdvx yet already feeling accomplished with iidx, i was just about to head back home when i suddenly got a ping that my online iidx rival was ready to play some arena . was conflicted at first since i saw that BPL Battle Mode was offline (and thus we couldn't host private 1v1 matches), but then i went back to try the regular arena mode and see if we could actually find each other there... and sure enough, we did!! DJ 2DKAPS and DJ BAGA!?, united online and ready to fight each other in Two Dee Ecks!!! i picked Scratch as my category of course, but most of it was notes... and yet i was still the STRONGEST!!! used my accuracy buff from other rhythm games to take the lead on some of the songs despite my skill issue on harder charts and denser patterns, leading to my AA- EC on Hardbass Festa [SPA-11], a sick AAs on Hana ranman -Flowers- [SPA-10], Bling-Bang-Bang-Born [SPA-10], and a sightread AA HC on 7 Colors [SPA-10] too!! (albeit that one's the one i lost because density skill issue www). but alas, it was a complete blowout for baga and i felt really bad about it :[

tried step up for the first time since resident(???), and GOD i wish i'd tried this mode earlier . like hell, this led to me getting a sightread 10 HC on PHOTONGENIC [SPA-10] as well as 11 HC #2 on Tell me what you wish feat. Rapbit [SPA-11]!!!

arranged another quick arena match with baga and got my ass kicked a little more by Baga and an area ranker who randomly joined our arena lobby, but hey!! i had fun!! the rest of the scores were so miscellaneous that i can't really be assed to describe them, but in the end, i tied with baga to win the whole thing together!!! wahooo we're legit twinning!!! 'twas a happy ending to the saga, and i happily headed out to do some studying with 8th dan and 2 arena victories under my belt :]
