I really love the contrast and complementarity between Sasuke’s Chidori and Naruro’s Rasengan

The Rasengan is an orb. It is stable and still. It does damages, but its cut is precise.

The Chidori doesn’t have really have a shape. It’s a raw, destructive and volatile energy.

What I like particularly about Chidori & Rasengan is that, for any other regular shonen, you’d have the cool and mysterious rival have the Rasengan as his main super-attack, and the funny and impulsive protagonist have the Chidori as his main super-attack.

But when you think about it, the nature of their respective attacks shows how they develop later in the show:

Naruto becomes calmer, more stable, because he tries to attack his opponents less and prefer to talk with them to try to solve a problem.

While Sasuke’s nature becomes more destructive, because he gets consumed by his revenge, he becomes more impulsive and unpredictable.
