Realistic Baking with Jimmy, Sassy, & Max. Drabble

Max Verstappen x Reader. Fluffy.

Max arrives home as the cats are “helping” you bake for the holidays.

"Sassy, please." You begged the Bengal. "Off the counter, cats aren't allowed here." She jumped down, knowing she was on your last nerve, but to her it was a fun game.

You sighed, now you had to clean the counter again so you could roll out the pie dough. The irritation ate at you as you wiped the countertop down with soap and water for the third time. You threw the paper towel away and turned back around, only to be met with Jimmy now on the countertop. You barked out a noise that was a mix of a laugh and a groan, walking over to the counter and just standing in front of the cat, shoulders dropped and head down.

Jimmy rubbed his head against your arm for pets and you scratched behind his ear. "Jimmy, I think I was too overzealous with this baking stuff."

"Are the cats helping?" You jumped as Max snuck into the flat, putting your hand on your chest as you turned. A smile spread across your face as your eyes met Max's. "Helping isn't the word I would use but they are here." He walked forward and wrapped his arms around you, pulling your body to his. Your arms slipped around his waist and you couldn't help but melt into his body. You stood there for a moment just enjoying each others touch.

A small 'mew' caught your attention and you turned your head to see Jimmy still on the counter, pawing at Max's arm for attention. "Ah, jealous are we?" Max asked and you smiled as you both started petting Jimmy. Sassy joined and you started to pet her.

You and Max continued to hug as you both pet one of the cats. Suddenly, Sassy wacked Jimmy in the face and jumped down. Jimmy followed, chasing her down the hall. "That didn't last long." You laughed and looked up at Max as your arm snaked back around his waist. He smiled down at you and kissed you on the tip of your nose. "Let me go change and I'll help you. I will probably be as much help as the cat's but-" he shrugged and smiled.

You jokingly made a pained face. "Jimmy, Sassy come back here, dad's going to try and bake." Max bent down and blew a raspberry into your neck, tightening his grip on you.

You giggled and tried to push away from him as the feeling sent tickles down your body. He finally let you go and you stepped back, still giggling. "Okay, go change." "Why?" he asked as he slowly started walking towards you. "I think it's time for you to take a break." You slowly stepped back holding one hand out so he couldn't tickle you more.

You laughed out of the slight panic of the impending tickles and Max was grinning ear-to-ear as he walked you back to the counter. Your body hit the counter and you had nowhere to go. "No, no, no. I have to finish this." You giggled and Max's hands held your shoulders as he blew another raspberry into your neck. A squeal escaped your lips and Max's hands left your shoulders, only to grab you around the waist. You squealed again as he lifted you up into the air.

"Max!" You giggled as he threw you over his shoulder. “Jimmy, sassy, help!” You joking yelled as Max carried you to the bedroom.

You did eventually finish the baking with Max’s help, he proudly only burnt one thing.

Chapter one

Eight years later and now cloudy skies covered the blue sky, fog hiding the distant trees from afar, giving the city a gloomy look. my eyes flickered open, groaning and rolling in my bed, messing up the already jumbled sheets piled on top of my frame, my bonnet was close to falling off, dangling over my hazel eyes, a strand of my curly hair falling from my bonnet and close to my mouth, it accidentally landing in my mouth, making me grunt and blow a raspberry. 

My hair now stuck to the side of my face, I eventually arise from my bed, wiping my eyes and looking around, outside of my window and taking a small sigh, my pink spaghetti strap that says “Power Girl!” in all caps on the front and an ice cream cone on the back that I had since she was seven and recycled for it to become an almost skin tight top for pajamas and the pink laced panties that I wore on cloudy days (or nights) weekly, unlike others thinking it is too erotic and immodest, I like how it feels on my curvy frame. 

What can I say about it? It's not my fault I'm sexy!

 I finally got up and put on my slippers, looking around for the pink silk robe that my step Mami made me for my 16th, something I still wear years later. I picked up my sleeping cat named Fluffy, kissing him and petting his back, resulting in a faint purr from the pet. I sat down on my chair in the corner of my room, right next to one of my windows which raindrops were faintly falling and scattering on, resulting in a pattern clinging to the window pane. I sighed and looked out the window, my siren eyes staring out of the transparent frame for a slight while, lost in my thoughts for a while, eventually letting out a rough sigh and getting up. 

Fluffy mewed and jumped off of my lap when she fully stood up, tucking my lone curl from my face off to the back of my ear, and walking outside of my bedroom. Since my father works in Law and is a Lawyer and my stepmother is a CEO of a design brand, they have to leave to work early in the morning, only leaving me and my pets in my big ass penthouse of a house like it's a parody of  Clueless. 

Don’t get me wrong, I love my parents, and they do everything for me, but I'm in 12th grade and I want to spend as much time as possible with my parents before I leave. I walked into the kitchen, Fluffy following behind, occasionally bumping up against my ankle and purring. I jumped onto the counter before shivering from my mostly bare ass on the pearl countertop.

 I grabbed my phone, swiping on Instagram before stopping on a certain basketball post about a certain friend of mine, Ruby Johnson. My childhood friend since kindergarten. I paused and double-tapped the post, liking the posts one by one. What can I say? It's my friend! Sure we made out a few times and kissed each other but what pair of friends haven't?!

 I huffed and got up from the counter, walking to the fridge to get a drink. Fluffy jumped on the counter, grooming her paw. Right when I went to get my phone, it started to ring and vibrate, showing my Mami's name, I softly smiled, placing my phone on the stand and swiping right, showing me Mami's face and my office, smiling brightly like always. 

“Hey, sweetie bun!!” She chirped, her contagious smile leaving me with a childish one. “Hey Mami, ¿que pasa? Did anything happen?” I asked, raising a brow, still smiling while getting something from the fridge. “Oh nothing at all sweets, Just wanted to check on you!” Of course. How could she forget? Mami is the most cautious and caring person that I have ever met. This is the bare minimum. 

“Right, of course, you do.” I gigged, getting a few eggs and a bowl, cracking them, and grabbing a whisk, beginning to whisk the eggs and season them. “Oh! Are there any new purses or makeup coming out?” I asked, lighting up and turning to the phone, leading in my laughter. “There's always something coming out, silly!” She hummed, writing some paperwork and fixing her glasses, pausing and sighing, her brows knitting together. 

It's likely about her recruits. I thought, pausing my whisking and glancing at my mother with worry. She eventually snapped out of her daze, looking at me and smiling warmly, fanning her hand to the phone briefly, physically telling me not to worry about it. “Mami…” I sighed, my brows furrowing together.

 “Self, I told you not to worry. How about this, when i come back, we can get some fast food and snacks hm? And how about if i pick Ruby up for a sleepover?” She smiled. God that name. Not that i hate it, i love my best friend, but its just.. Different. How we talk, when we spend time together. Like i said not in a bad way at all. Its just more.. Intimate. “Is there something wrong sweets?” My mother asked, snapping me out of my confused daze. 

“Oh no no no! I’d love to do that! Could we get some ice cream on the way?” I asked, smiling at my mother, a dust of blush on my face from the post-daze. “Oh of course sweetheart! I love me some strawberry swirl!!” She giggled, moving her shoulders and raising a brow. Another thing about my Mami. She acts like a Mom.

 I gave a look which made her laugh and fix her glasses. “But seriously, i can make that happen. Call her for me ok? My day is jammed with meetings!” She continued, doing this certain gesture with her hands that always confused me when i was just a child. “Pfttt, Ok Mami” I giggled, pausing when I saw Ruby requesting a call, lightly blushing before looking at my mother.

 “Funny thing is she’s calling me right now.” I said, raising a brow. “Well then go call her, sweets, i have to go get on a meeting anyway!” She hummed, clicking on her computer. “Ok Mami, Te amo.” I said, waving as she waved back, accepting the call from Ruby, only to see her lifting weights with sweat all over her, her hair a mess and her head against the wall, grunting with every other lift. 

That’ll do it. 

I stared for a second, my face a full shade of light pink, always loving to see my friend like this. Wait. What am i saying?! “Ya done looking, sweetcheeks?” Ruby hummed, gruff bass in her voice that will make any person drop to the floor, side eyeing the camera with a small smirk, snapping me out of my second daze. “I was looking at the time.”  I lied, walking away from the camera and grabbing the pan, completely forgetting about the breakfast i was making.

 “Yeah sure. How you doin’ Malissa?” She replied, putting the weights down and running her hair back with her hand veins slightly showing from the tenseness. “I’m fine until you called.” I joked, beginning to hear faint steam, the butter finally being melted on the pan. Ruby giggled and got up to drink some water from her nightstand, almost always being in her room when we called. 

 “You don’t mean that” Ruby cooed. “And what if i do?” “Your comment on that one post on my page says otherwise, Lisa” Ok that cocky asshole went too far. “That was a joke.” I hissed, tilting the phone to me as Ruby laughed. 

“Those panties look cute on you ya know.” 

She hummed, her voice significantly deeper than before, immediately making my eyes shoot open and my face turn a shade of dark pink. Did she just forget that we’re friends?! “Never asked for your opinion on that.” I calmly hummed, her knowing that I'm basically screaming inside. “What?? It was a compliment! Im just sayin’ it looks good on you just like a hat would look good on somebody else!” She said, raising a brow as her smirk turns into a smile, making me side eye her.

 “Cut the shit, Ruby.” I said, too flustered to make a genuine response. “Alright alright, pink panther.” She giggled. That has been something she had always called me because of my short tempered nature. At first it was tiger but i took a large liking for pink in 6th grade. What can i say? Pink is the best color of the spectrum! But Ruby for some reason thinks its blue. Two words: Fuck that. 

I sighed and finished topping up a steak and cheese omelet grabbing my phone and walking up the stairs to my room. “Didn’t you say you changed your room around?” She asked as i set my phone on my bed, sitting on it and stretching, yawning slightly. “Yeah i did. I always do, Ruby.” I replied, opening my eyes and looking at the phone.

 “Can i seeeee” Ruby asked, pausing when I gave her a look. “What?? You always show me your room when you change it!” “Mami is picking you up, doofus. you’ ll see it in a few hours.” I replied, taking off my bonnet, my curls bouncing and falling to my lower back. “I love your hair, sweetheart..” Ruby cooed, her voice gentle and somber, unlike her normal, cocky voice, making me almost crumble into a flustered mess.

 I paused, staring at her for a brief moment before inhaling and nodding slowly but swiftly, looking to the side with a slight smile, her laughing in reply.  “If you keep saying this shit people are gonna think we’re in a relationship.” I retorted, trailing my eyes back to her, slightly sneering, her giggling before pausing when she heard ‘relationship’. “Well everyone knows were friends. Whats the point of getting all worked up out of it?” She hummed, cocking an eyebrow.

 ‘Friend.’ I hate that damn word. I can’t put my finger on why, but i just do. It feels like a barrier to something more. It always does. And it always did. I sneered briefly, before nodding and taking a bite of my omlette. And if it was like sixth sense, she always knew when something was wrong.

 “Is there something wrong?” 

Ruby asked, standing up and getting out her bedroom, about to get a snack, having a worried glare on her face. “Huh? Oh. Nothing dont worry about it Ruby.” I replied bluntly, averting my eyes. Why do i feel like this. This is supposed to be my friend. Nothing more. 

Sure, she knows everything about me, and everything about how much i changed throughout the years. “Yeah. And the sky is green.” Ruby retorted, giving a dumb look at the screen. “Ruby, seriously it's nothing. I’m just deep in thought.” I sighed, rubbing my temple. 

A tense silence floated around us, before they said these words: “You know you can tell me anything, right?”  God that voice. I hate that voice. How smooth but how gruff it is at the same time, the bass deep as thunder but at the same time gentle as a baby's touch. I can't wrap my mind around it. I can’t wrap my mind around her. “Yeah, right.” I said, looking at her with a gentle but timid expression. 

That was what I was scared of. I’m scared to tell her how i feel. How about if she gets the wrong idea?? It’s not like I'm confessing! We’re friends! That and only that. 

“Well just know I'm here for you, yeah?”

 “Of course.” 

God this is so damn awkward. 

I have never been this shooken up before. Right when i was about to say something, Fluffy pounced on the bed, knocking the phone on the bedsheets with his tail, making me gasp and shoo Fluffy onto the side of my bed and picking up my phone, only hearing the smooth laughter as Ruby bring muffled into the sheets. “Oh shut your mouth.” I said, playfully  hanging up on her.

Trick or Treat !

For the month of Halloween, I'm doing a little challenge instead of any inktober, or kinktober, or flufftober, or any kind of -tober, cause I never finish those x)

Oooooogghhhhhh me when. That which I put forth comes back to meee yahoo heehe (the fact that this is the second ask about this topic haha). I am bonked on the head by the ball. Kiitos :)

I think Mewmew would likely be marshmallows due to the immaculate softness and sugary sweetness. Just the whole vibe. I personally can't stomach marshmallows bc they're wayyy to sweet for me hahah... Mew could also easily be like a smores! Crunchy (the tech parts) with soft and melty stuff (bio parts and fuel). Doesn't that just sound yummy :) lol

The marshmallow (or s'more) would also be fitting bc of how.. Heavy? It is. Like. So much fat and you can't eat too many before you have to stop. At least that's it for me so. That adds to the Mewmew vibe (bc m is nothing if not Heavy Class and tanky!)

Though, I could also make the argument for Mewmew being like, fruit gummies? I have this specific zoo animal gummy type in mind

Bc haahaa artificial thing resembling a real animal :) but still!

Evilicus... Hmmm... I really wanted to say some Halloween candy here bc of the vibes.. Ev is so edgy. But I feel like something else would represent them better..

Let's say. Cake. Let me paint the picture for you. It's at least two tiered. It's got sharp and detailed frosting. It's got hard meringue spikes. It's got decorations and maybe a surface sculpted of almond paste. It's got plums and other dried fruits in the batter. Chocolate sauce. Raspberry sauce - red as blood. The raspberry sauce has the faintest hint of chili. The whole thing is in purple and black. Tadah! Evilicus.

.. Or, after being defeated it's a little fruitcake with chocolate ganache and berry sauce thrown on top. Still relatively fancy but definitely comprised of less.

As for what those two would like, it's gonna be very different from what treats they would be!

Mewmew -..... Cat treats. But if you asked about human candies the answer is probably cookies or candied fruit. More likely cookies but Mewmew likes fruits and veggies in general.

Evilicus - Hard to say, they don't eat much.. 🤔 I think rock candy would be fun for them though! Just like those nefarious power crystals they used to acquire in their glory days. I could also say lollipops and then like, banana bread and tiger cake, and other less sweet but still desert baked goods.

Thanks for the tag, @esskuesli - it's been ages since I've done one of these! three ships: To the surprise of nobody here, let’s go with Bojere and Jance as the first two. If you asked me seven months ago if I’d ever return to RPF, the answer would have been a resounding no. And yet here I am... As a third, let’s go for Bagginshield (Thorin Oakenshield/Bilbo Baggins), as this was the last fandom I was heavily involved in before possibly the world’s longest hiatus! first ship: I’m not sure I can even remember exactly which one, but I first got introduced to fanfiction and shipping via Harry Potter. It was so long ago that the books were still coming out (and, y'know, before JKR started torching her legacy), and there were major shipping wars between Harry/Hermione and Ron/Hermione. So probably something around that. last song: ‘Water Slides’ by Mew. (I would love to know how they come up with the ideas for their videos, I really would...) last film: It’s been a while since I went to the cinema, so the last one I saw out was Barbie. At home, I’ve probably since rewatched Hot Fuzz. It’s one of those films you just have to see time and again... for the greater good... currently reading: I’ve finally got round to picking up ‘The Thirtieth Year’ (‘Das dreißigste Jahr’) by Ingeborg Bachmann after meaning to read the whole thing for ages. In translation this time though – I’m being lazy. I’m also reading ‘A Life With Footnotes’, the Terry Pratchett biography by his assistant/business manager Rob Wilkins. I’m a huge fan of Discworld/Good Omens, so it's really interesting to find out more about how he came to be who he was and I feel like it’s the closest it could be to an autobiography without him having written the whole thing himself, if that makes sense? currently watching: Within the past week, I’ve managed to finish Bodies, Lupin Season 3 and All The Light We Cannot See, and now I’m at a bit of a loose end. I’ll probably be catching up with Loki Season 2 next. (Incidentally if anyone would like to chat about any of these, feel free - especially Lupin, I have THOUGHTS!) currently consuming: Strawberry and raspberry tea. currently craving: Pasta bake – something with lots of cheese and a crispy topping. It’s freezing outside so perfect weather for it!
