What is the reason I am talking about Tony Visconti here again? Haven't I discussed him enough already? That might have been true, though I would like to go deeper in my talks on him. For instance, I would intend to suggest he was one of the architects of British popular music. I mean, he worked with Bowie, Bolan and Geldof, but he also found some time to collaborate with Gentle Giant. Thus, we can claim he could've been seen as one at the forefront of the 70's rock music in Britain thanks to his production of the progressive rock group I mentioned as well. Still, would anyone dare to suggest this was the case? Tough to say, yet I believe him lacking another strong figure in the vein of Bowie to be associated with reflects the answer to this.

The 1949 Eames House is a landmark of 20th century modern architecture located in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles. The glass and steel dwelling was designed by husband-and-wife design pioneers Charles and Ray Eames to serve as their home and studio. The modestly-sized structure was constructed from "off-the-shelf" parts available from steel fabricator catalogs. An Alexander Calder sculputre and an Eero Saarinen Womb Chair are focal points of the living area. (Photo: Julius Shulman, 1950; © J. Paul Getty Trust. Gentle Giant was an English progressive rock band formed in 1970. Known for their intricate compositions, virtuoso musicianship, and eclectic mix of rock, jazz, classical, and medieval music, the band quickly earned a devoted following. The group consisted of Derek Shulman (vocals, saxophone), Ray Shulman (bass, violin), Kerry Minnear (keyboards, woodwinds), Gary Green (guitar), and John Weathers (drums).
Gentle Giant's music was often complex and highly experimental, featuring time signature changes, counterpoint, and overlapping instrumental lines. Their self-titled debut in 1970 set the stage for a career full of albums that pushed the boundaries of progressive rock, including "Acquiring the Taste" (1971), "Octopus" (1972), and "In a Glass House" (1973). These works showcased their mastery of both classical music's complexity and the spontaneity of rock.
Despite their critical acclaim, Gentle Giant never achieved significant commercial success, which has often been cited as due to their unconventional sound. The band eventually disbanded in 1980 after a period of declining popularity. Nevertheless, their legacy as one of the most innovative and influential progressive rock bands endures, with many modern musicians citing them as an inspiration.
