talking about the topic of animated movies not Hitting, I accidentally reminded myself of one time on twitter, I think around the time that Raya came out?? I was poopooing on how much the dragon looks like elsa, and then talked about how I wish 2d animated and hand animated films were still The Medium instead of nothing but the highest resolution skin texture fur textured 3d animated films bc I'm tired of seeing it, etc etc and then someone who I was not mutuals with, they must've been someone working under the disney IP in some form, and must've either done some work on raya or just worked on 3d animated projects in general, replied to me SEVERAL TIMES as if I was subtweeting them, with something to the tone of "just say you hate me and you think my art is trash" and I think about that ALL the time

A little something about the students dress

Alright so I was looking at references (to draw a character) and ended up doing a bit of research on academic dresses & graduations uniforms! I only find a couple of things so if someone have more infos I will be very interest!

So in Bloodborne we got those dear uniforms :

The one with the robes is very classic of what people in old classic university still wear for big events and graduations such as in the U.S.A or UK. A decades/century ago they did wore those uniforms of course way more often. Now we wear mostly casual clothes.

(This image always made me think of Byrgenwerth. With the balcony and all. That remind me of a post I made a while ago I have still no clue what those balcony were use for!!!)

At first, I discovered that between a bachelor/licence degree, master degree and phd/doctorate you aren't going to get the same clothes. Plus, colours can differ depending of : the level of the degree, the school or the field you graduate in (can differ depending the countries as well).

Bachelor outfits are the most simple ones with not a lot of colours for most of them. Sometimes they don't have hoods but depends. Sometimes they seems to have very large selves like the Byrgenwerth one. The master ones have a bit more colours and I read generally long sleeves but that depends? Then the phd/doctorate ones are generally very colourful! And like the last sources below v They even had even more beautiful outfit for very important members (so I guess Willem pope outfit still make sense XD)

As for the colors it really depends the country etc but I read red is often associated with medicine and surgery (what a coincidence!). White / purple or even red is for theology and blue could be for sciences (Byrgenwerth/willem researches seems to be quite a mixt with theology/sciences so make sense).

(@katyspersonal we did talk a while back on colours on clothes meaning but hey it had have academic significations that fit well too! So in the end, drawing Laurence with white & red clothes is even more accurate now! XD) Oh I wanna draw him in an entire red academic dress now...Future drawing idea ).

Also I forgot to mentions that there's the hat/trencher that's part of it as well. It's not part of the set in the game but ennemies have it.

Also little side note: some dress have stripes or ermine bands on the clothes that represents their grades and also "academic curiosity, academic honesty, and academic courage."

So i suppose the garb Micolash, Damian & co have would look more similar to a master degree one? I guess?

But I won't throw any rocks at Fromsoftware even if the ones we got might not be too much detailed/ accurate because they sure did their homeworks to find and design those clothes. They aren't historians and they probably found a lot more things than I here (plus Japan don't have those dresses too). They're not going to design like 5 different outfits in the game too XD. (Yes I want more details for my story bc making things way more complicated is way more accurate I guess...) We don't know how exactly those types of institutions fonctions in Bloodborne universe too. And it's a fantasy world after all. So it's free real estate

I dunno if you guys @pyro-madder @karnaca78 @secteel or others could know more about it 🤔

They are probably wearing a "simarre". Some magistrate/ university professor / religious clothes people would wear. So pretty oblivious and what we thought @heraldofcrow

Ahh, for all the famous regional dishes of Northern Dorenan, naught beats a savory pie for me. Ye’ve made me hungry just thinking about it.

Erandir: what's a special memory from your childhood?

I have vague memories of coming along with my mother when she was visiting someone recovering from an injury. She was bringing a basket of food and medicines. …Sorry, Merian, I don’t remember more details about the injury or medicines. Just that she sang to me on the way to amuse me.

Merian: what's a good cure for stomach ailments?

*is distracted with Erandir’s story* Hmm? Oh, sorry. It is hard to say. It depends on the ailment and also the person. My old standby of ginger makes some people feel worse somehow, though it works well for me. Peppermint… cinnamon… lemon balm… bee balm… bitter greens to stimulate digestion… *steeples fingers and takes deep breath* I do not care if Caliam thinks this is cheating, I have found an article that says it better than I can, and in the name of giving useful information I will share it! But the short answer is that it depends on the ailment and the cause. *hugs*

Arric: what's your favourite view?

Nothing against mountains or forests, but I like wide open spaces. Meadows, or fields of grain stretching out till they meet the sky. I don’t know that I have a clear favorite yet though.

Raya: what's your favourite thing to bake?

I have one oatmeal scone recipe I use a lot. It’s delicious and nearly foolproof—or else I’ve made it so often that I can tell what it needs more or less of—so it’s nice to try different things with. Blaeberries or heather honey with cream are my favorite additions.

Caliam: do you feel you're in the wrong tale?

Not really, I guess, though I want to be doing something. Isn’t it a bad thing to have a passive protagonist?

The reason I love the friends to lovers troupe so much is because that’s the only hope I have of finding a relationship for myself. Being friends with me first and knowing all of me then it turning into more… that’s the only way I believe it’ll ever happen. I don’t think I’m attractive enough for it to happen a different way therefore I’m so doomed😭🙏

Official Teaser: The Craved Misfit

pairing: slytherin!kai x gryffindor!reader genre: harry potter au, hogwarts set in college age, obsession, ruin, strangers to lovers, pureblood/halfblood societal norms, mdni.

Kai lounged on the stairway, tuning out the crude, drunken laughter of his housemates as they bragged about the girls they’d ruined the night before. Their voices blurred into nothing. His eyes scanned the grounds lazily, flashes of yellow, green, blue, red, the usual mess of students he barely cared to notice.

He saw you.

He leaned forward without thinking, resting his chin on his hand, the world narrowing to just you. Everything else fell away against the blinding, face of yours. You moved with a kind of arrogance he recognized instantly: head high, steps sharp, like the world didn’t deserve you. The fire in your eyes. Typical of your house—spoiled, untouchable. He should’ve been bored.

He couldn’t look away.

A boy in red caught up to you, fumbling for your attention, desperate to be seen. Kai watched, as you turned to him with a look of pure disdain. The boy stammered something, like he was apologizing. You slapped him. Hard.

Kai’s mouth curved into a slow, wicked grin.

You didn’t stop there. You kicked the boy’s foot out from under him, angrily spat a few words he couldn’t catch, and walked off, not even glancing back. Kai’s eyes stayed locked on you, tracking every furious step you took across the grounds. You tried to hide it; the tremble in your hands, the way you blinked too fast but he caught it.

You're crying.

His chest tightened, something crawled under his skin. How much sweeter would it be if he were the one to do it? He could already picture it: your pride, your voice breaking, your pretty face crumpling; under his hands, under his mouth, under his name. Not for some sniveling boy, but for him.

Only him.

He wouldn't let you walk away from him like that.

notes: i know, kai is seen as a hufflepuff (and i completely agree) however, for this story, i wanted to challenge myself by exploring a different side of him. it’s a work of fiction after all, and part of the fun is seeing how far we can push our creativity.

Rewatching Raya and the Last Dragon and honestly just changing it to Namaati giving up the gem piece first would’ve made it so much better

Raya could’ve kept up with her “don’t trust people” thing but learning that putting a little bit of trust in people (like her father did in the beginning) would be a good message

Sorry, people trying to say that the brown face in the new Lilo & Stitch movie wasn't that bad because the actress was actually mixed race really don't understand how fucked up that is and like even non-white people could do brown face.

Other than the fact that minorities aren't interchangeable and especially in a story that discusses the colonization of a specific group of indigenous people, seeing what they did to Nani's actress reminds me how fucked it was when light-skinned Filipino actors darken their skin color whenever they needed to look either indigenous or poor instead of studios just hiring other people or rewriting the story to avoid darkening these actors' skin tones.

Back on my ODST!John/Raya train of thought before I forget this,

After Raya gets hospitalized for a hot minute, John visits her every day much to her amusement and they still constantly tease each other but without the venom between words. Raya makes a mental note that between everyone on the team, John stops by more often than anyone else and it kinda makes her go, "he's actually sweet and not a dickhead."

[I should preference that John and Raya are on different ODST teams and they were brought together for the same mission, so they had no choice but to work together.]

On the day of her release, everyone stopped by and surprised her with a bouquet of roses, which later she found out was John's idea.

Anyway to celebrate they end up going to a bar to drink and it kinda clicks in John's brain as he's watching her shoot whisky with her teammate that he thinks she's pretty and ends up saying it out loud. And his teammate looks at him weirdly, "Don't you two hate each other?"

and absentmindedly John responds, "Yeah....I think so?" but with a kinda wistful tone and ends up watching her for the rest of the night until she bounces over to make him do some shots with her-
