American rock band IN THIS MOMENT has announced the 2025 "Black Mass Tour" featuring special guests DAYSEEKER on select dates, THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT and DED. The 23-city trek kicks off on Thursday, September 18 at 1st Summit Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, making stops across the U.S. before wrapping up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at Wind Creek Events Center on Friday, October 24. IN THIS MOMENT is also gearing up to release new music via Better Noise Music this summer.

My Nine Platinum Trophies

On PlayStation. Not literal platinum trophies.

It's rare that I actively go after a platinum trophy in a video game but last night, in the early hours of the morning, I got my ninth so I figured it would be nice to go back and look at the ones I do have.

1. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 (PS3)

First Trophy: 22/08/2011

Platinum: 20/11/2011

Time: 2 months, 29 days

Rarity: 1.9%

Given WWE SvR 2010 came out in October 2009, you might be wondering why I was late to the party on this one. Until 2011, pretty much the only games I played at all were the WWE ones and I stayed loyal to my PlayStation 2 until the bitter end. When WWE '12 was announced to be exclusive for the seventh generation, I caved and got myself a PS3. For whatever reason, I actually skipped SvR 2010 when it came out on PS2 so I picked up a cheap copy for the PS3 instead and managed to get my first platinum a few days before WWE '12's release.

2. Family Game Night 3 (PS3)

First Trophy: 17/07/2012

Platinum: 26/09/2012

Time: 2 months, 9 days

Rarity: 2.7%

Ah yes, arguably the most prestigious platinum of all. Accomplished by achieving such feats as winning The Game of Life 10 times, having a perfect game of Twister, locking another player in any room in Clue, building all five trap variants in Mouse Trap, and gaining six combo cards in Yahtzee.

3. Rocket League (PS4)

First Trophy: 16/08/2015

Platinum: 05/01/2017

Time: 1 year, 4 months, 20 days

Rarity: 2.7%

Another case of being behind the times. Rocket League was free on PlayStation Plus upon its initial release in July 2015 but I don't remember actually having a copy until Christmas 2016. However, when looking through the trophies, I have two dating back to August 2015. I can only assume I did download Rocket League briefly, lost interest the first time around, uninstalled it and eventually got back round to wanting to play it again. Mysterious circumstances whatever happened meaning the platinum took close to 17 months as opposed to just 11 days. In between FGN3 and Rocket League, I also 100% completed Monopoly Plus, Firewatch, and Hitman but none of those offer a platinum.

4. Killing Floor 2 (PS4)

First Trophy: 08/06/2017

Platinum: 29/06/2017

Time: 21 days

Rarity: 1.7%

This one I did get when it was free on PlayStation Plus. However, I picked it up at the insistence of my friend Chris. He currently has 92 platinum trophies for comparison sake. A fun little game that helped pass the time during a period of unemployment for myself until I found a job that September. A couple of months prior to the KF2 platinum, I also 100% completed Disc Jam, meaning my overall platinum count should really have been 8 at this stage.

5. L.A. Noire (PS4)

First Trophy: 25/12/2017

Platinum: 23/03/2018

Time: 2 months, 26 days

Rarity: 1.8%

I never played L.A. Noire on the PS3, instead getting the enhanced edition for Christmas 2017. I soon realised what I had been missing. A lovely game with a fantastic story that never outstayed its welcome. Probably the first time I actively wanted to achieve a platinum as opposed to having a majority of trophies and then just picking up the ones I didn't have. On the topic of Rockstar games, I got Red Dead Redemption 2 as a gift for Christmas the following year. I have 81% of the trophies for that game, missing out one single player trophy and a few of the online ones. I do however have 100% in-game completion which is good enough for me.

6. Golf With Your Friends (PS4)

First Trophy: 23/05/2020

Platinum: 11/06/2020

Time: 19 days

Rarity: 0.5%

The fastest platinum I've achieved to date. Golf With Your Friends was a quite handy game for a group of us to play during a time where none of us could see each other in person for reasons I forget. I've not played any of the GWYF expansions though.

7. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4)

First Trophy: 11/12/2014

Platinum: 24/01/2021

Time: 6 years, 1 month, 13 days

Rarity: 0.1%

Now, to be fair, while I did play GTA V throughout those six years, I didn't spend all that time trying to get the GTA V platinum. Between May 2016 and December 2020, I didn't earn a single trophy for it. So why did I suddenly make it a goal when for so long it hadn't concerned me? There was some reason I couldn't go into work for a few weeks around the end of 2020/early 2021 - who knows what it could have been? - and I needed something to pass the time. I decided to replay the story of GTA V and then realised the platinum actually seemed doable after all. One month later, I got my rarest platinum of all. Much better than the 55% I completed on the PS3 version of the game. I don't have any desire to do it again once I own a PS5.

8. Zombie Army Trilogy (PS4)

First Trophy: 25/01/2023

Platinum: 30/05/2023

Time: 4 months, 5 days

Rarity: 1.4%

The second zombie related game on the list, also at the instance of my friend Chris oddly enough. Did end up preferring it to Killing Floor 2 after some initial reluctance on my part to play it. Chris is now trying to convince me to buy Zombie Army 4 and get the platinum on that as well. He does play other genres of games, I promise.

9. WWE 2K23 (PS4)

First Trophy: 29/04/2023

Platinum: 28/06/2023

Time: 1 month, 30 days

Rarity: 0.1%

A historic platinum for me, for a couple of reasons. It marks the first time in my gaming history I've got two platinum trophies in a row. It's also the first WWE game since SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 that I've achieved the platinum for. It's going to feel odd playing it now and not having to worry about trophy hunting.

No real notes, but just a reminder that in Japanese, saying “Not love? Yes!” will mean “Yes, that’s right, it isn’t love” as opposed to in English where someone might answer “Not love? Nope, it’s not love.”

Also, natsuiro is literally “summer-colored” but here it’s more like “the summer version of Nancy”.

Anyway, this song, like many great 80s idol songs, was written as an ad jingle. Natsuiro no Nancy wormed its way into people’s heart advertising Coca-Cola with the slogan “Yes Coke Yes”, and became a cat-themed Y!Mobile ad in 2016 entitled Natsuiro no Nyancy (“Meowncy in Summer Colors”).

This song was also recorded by Kikkawa You for her cover album Vocalist? and by Terashima Yufu as a b-side for her single Watashi wo Ryokou ni Tsuretette

Harry the Womanizer

 This thing started because I find the whole womanizer image of Harry absolutely disgusting and wanted people to see how utterly bad and wrong it was.

Please be aware that the following does not reflect Harry’s personality but it shows us the image their label wanted him to be seen as.

Some disclaimer about where the data comes from

written, digital coverage (no print,  1-2 videos, no radio)

google search “Harry Styles”, I looked through the first 20 hits each month but didn’t read all of them ( headlines usually are a dead giveaway if an article contains a new “conquest”)

I did not list every woman that was mentioned in the same article as Harry. Also not those that showed interest in him. But most of those that were said he showed interest in (I might have skipped a few in the worst years just bc it was so freaking disgusting)

Often articles contained offhand comments about his pulling power or unrelatedly recounting his latest conquests in any given article to enforce the womanizer image. These did not make it into the list.

the age gaps are very big in the beginning, likely to attract an older audience in addition to the usual target audience of teenage girls

the amount of woman linked to Harry gets smaller each year because in later years, articles could just reference his history with woman

the amount of woman linked and mentioned in regards to Harry gets significantly lower after hiatus started

Why give Harry the womanizer image?

Would the image of a womanizer not damage the image of 1D?

If they’d portrait him as a sleeze it would have surely damaged the overal image of 1D. But Harrys image portrait him as charming, a bit quirky and overall an airhead that likes people and doesn’t want to be tied down. Thus giving the illusion of being potentially available to every woman and showing them a good, no strings attached, time. Which is a massive selling point for boybands to increase the age range of their fans.

In addition, all his conquests would be used to stir up drama or simply generate attention at crucial times to get 1D in the press without mentioning their current promo focus in every headline.

The winter girlfriends had a special role as they were the only ones actively worked as continuous dating. To build some attachment, have a continuous storyline that could be tied to the just released album and bridge the holiday pause, and when the relationship ended generate more drama to be used for promo.

Harry did keep on using his womanizer image to promote both his solo albums but in a very controlled manner. The numbers of new woman linked to him declined to 1 in 2019, for now we are at 0 (1) in 2020

HS promo used 3 woman as inspirations for songs (Towns, Fowler, Swift) and a tour gf (Rowe)

FL promo only uses the previous tour gf as now ex to push the storyline of a breakup album

He is very visibly changing his image while still maintaining a level of connection to his old image. Whether that's due to contractual restrictions or a strategy to not alienate to many fans is unclear

Effective December 1, 2020, Duo Security ended support for Duo Mobile application for iOS 11 and Android 7. Beginning February 1, 2021, devices running iOS 11 or Android 7 or older will no longer be able to install Duo Mobile from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. ¹ Saipan is a US territory that was a semi-popular option for vacationing during the ‘80’s, back when Moritaka Chisato wrote these lyrics (not so much now).

This is probably Moritaka’s most famous song and has been covered and recorded by Kikkawa You, anison singer Suzuki Konomi, and Tsubaki Factory. It has also been sung live by SPEED with Makihara Noriyuki, AKB48’s Okada Nana, C-ute’s Okai Chisato, former Morning Musume member Tsuji Nozomi, and Hello! Project as a whole.

Also, technically “obasan” is like auntie and can be read as either “old lady” or “middle-aged woman”, but Moritaka took heavy inspiration from the Beatles’ “When I’m Sixty-Four” for this song (right down to the “you’ll be older too”), so I opted for the older age interpretation.

Last year, Chromatics released their new album Closer to Grey. The album was dubbed the band’s “seventh” album. Their 2012 album Kill for Love was their fifth, and, with a new announcement today, it looks like Johnny Jewel just might finally release the album he’s been teasing for over five years: Dear Tommy.

Tonight, a new tracklist for Dear Tommy has been revealed. The album features unheard versions of the three songs that have been previously released (“Just Like You,” “Dear Tommy,” and “Time Rider”). Every other song is thus far unreleased. Find the tracklist below. Dear Tommy still doesn’t have an official release date.

A Johnny Jewel–directed video for a new song called “Teacher” has also been shared.

The Dear Tommy timeline stretches back for over half a decade. The album was first announced in December 2014 with the promise that it would arrive in the coming months. Several songs from the album’s first tracklist were promised in the years following the initial announcement.

Then, in 2017, it was announced that the album had been scrapped entirely. Jewel’s manager at the time claimed that Jewel had destroyed every physical copy of Dear Tommy after going through a near-death experience. It was also claimed that Jewel completely re-recorded the project. At one point, Dear Tommy was given a fall 2018 release date.

In addition to Closer to Grey and the individual singles from Dear Tommy, Johnny Jewel has been busy working on the upcoming Desire album. He also helped soundtrack David Lynch’s most recent season of Twin Peaks. Recently, Johnny Jewel shared an Angel Olsen remix.

Harper knocked tentatively on the open file-room door. “Can I talk to you for a second?”

“C’mon in,” Harvey sighed, downing the rest of his cold coffee. “Ain’t havin’ luck anyhow.”

“This comes from a place of love, but you look like hell,” said Harper, patting his shoulder. “What I’ve got for you isn’t going to help.”

“Go ahead,” Harvey replied, banging the drawer shut. “Make my apocalyptic New Year’s. That 2012 shit’s eight years late. Can’t get any worse.”

As if to challenge that statement, Harper tilted her head at him, and Harvey felt his stomach sink.

“Know the young woman in a harlequin suit and jester’s cap that my patrol picked up like half an hour ago for breaking and entering down at the Garden Center? She says her name’s Ecco and that she has some information for you and Jim in exchange for her release.”

Recognition went off in Harvey’s head like lights in a pinball machine. That girl in the bunker.

Issues:

Healthcare: Healthcare is a fundamental human right and all Americans and people should have access to affordable coverage

Guns: Generally while I do support the 2A I do see where there needs to be some gun control reform and loopholes closed

Gay Marriage: I support  the right of all people to marry and be in the relationship they chose (consenting adults that is -not adult to child)

Marijuanna: Let each state decide- get rid of the federal law

Prison reform: There should be sentencing and criminal justice reform- too many people in prison for drug issues (which honestly should be a medical issue not necessary a criminal one) and help release them get them help while keeping the violent felons locked up

Education: It should be up to the local boards to dictate education policy not the job of the federal government-actually in my view there should be less standardized testing and  schools and communities should give kids more chance to be kids

LGBTQ rights: I do not believe people should be discriminated against in terms of housing, employment or even in military service based on their sexual orientation

Death penalty: Against it

Life in prison without parole: Should be reserved exclusively for sexual predators, child molesters, killers and those with a history of violent acts (more than 1). 

Taxes: I believe in a flat tax rate for all Americans across the board

Immigration: There needs to be some immigration reform. Immigrants should be able to come to the US (quite honestly I think the administration is trying to make it impossible for immigrants to come in rather than just stymie illegal crossings of the border). The border does need to be secure but not at the cost of denying all entry. 

Sports betting: Legalize it

Environmental issues: I do believe we are harming and damaging our environment. There needs to be new energy sources. Clean energy. I do not like the terms global warming or climate change because what I think is happening is more encompassing that that. Also need to find a way to limit pollution, limit plastic in our water, seas, rivers, etc. Limit the amount of trees being cut without replacement. The list could go on and on. 

Freedom of religion: Each to their own and how they want to practice religion. Although I disagree with many politicians I do agree there seems to be an increase in hate towards both Jews and Muslims. Both groups by different people. I think all should be able to freely practice their religion as they see fir or not practice it all if they chose. Again, freedom to chose.

Abortion: Personally, I am pro life however, I am coming to the conclusion that the government should not have any business in making medical decisions for people. The Alabama Abortion ban went way too far. As does Georgia’s I feel. 

Government: For the most part the smaller the government the better

Wages: There should be a livable wage  for all those working (not where one gets paid and winds up losing money check after check as I see happens so often)

it's like. alright. It does what it sets out to do I guess. I like Chantal(?)'s parts. I actually made an effort to give this a few repeats when it came out so I could figure out my feelings on it. Still not wholly sold on it, but I don't really mind hearing it.

03 Problematic

Stupid goddamn Too Many Bands Not Enough MDC/Bullshit cast-off fuckin goddamn repititious piece of shit fuck you make me an enchilada

04 That's How Jimmy Gets Down

You can tell I'm simple and I like the songs with the synthesizer rolls and Old Skewl (2003-era) MSI but I really actually do like this. I even downloaded it onto my phone so you can tell I was willing to sacrifice my precious android storage space for this. It helps that it could 100 percent pass itself off as a Lollipop Chainsaw boss track.

05 Be Afraid of Who You Are

Another very 2012 track in terms of production and it's very very good. If the whole album was this good I'd have no complaints

06 Piece of Me

Instrumentally I like it but lyrically it's awful. It's not even good enough to be an If reject. what the fuck happened

07 Wuthering Heights

I have never heard a good Kate Bush cover. This still stands as a true point even after this album released, and also confirms my hunch that covering Kate Bush should be legally banned in every country and on every planet

08 Detroit and Only Halfway Thru The Tour

It grew on me. It has a fun lead-in and even though I think Jimmy's voice has suffered over the years and thus can't really pull of falsetto well, it's still good.

09 Fuck Everything

I had a soft spot for this one from the beginning. It sounds like the credits song to a polarizing cyberpunk movie and I like that, along with the very straightforward, upbeat verses and more tense, emotional chorus (kind of like the inverse of Split Enz' I Got You, I guess.)

10 The Medicine Does Not Control Me

I hate that I love it as much as I do. I thought Gr*mes would totally ruin it, because even before she Did That (dated a billionaire dipshit) I could only tolerate her whole artistic ouevre for small nuggets of time, but when she's given a very strong piece of music she can add a lot to it with her performance, and, unfortunately, I do think this would be missing something if she weren't on this song.

11 What A Fool Believes

Two things: I hate that I now have a predispotion to sing Linkin Park over this, but secondly, this is literally. MSI's cover of Tom Sawyer.

12 Do You Kiss Your Mama With That Mouth?

I thought this sounded a little Self-Titled 2013-outtake-y but that's an insult to the sincerity that album had. I repeat, once again: me no likey. Instrumentally, it's fine, but lyrically it is SO grating, mainly because I predicted about half of the lyrics when I first saw the title.
