Renmitsu shippers: Obanai x Mitsuri is cute! I like them. He's a cool character. They're opposites, and that's fun. It's not my favorite, but I like it.

Obamitsu shippers: Rengoku x Mitsuri is disgusting!! He was her teacher! She said he's a good "big brother" who doted on her! Power imbalance!! They're just friends! They're like siblings!! Obamitsu is canon!!!

✨My opinions on KNY ships✨

This is something no one asked for but anyways. (This included platonic and romantic ships, and I'm a multishipper) No hate please on some of my opinions and only the ships that I know will be mentioned and NO adult x minor or sibling x sibling.

Uzuren (Tengen x Kyojuro): I love these two as either platonic or romantic, I wrote a fanfic about these two that is over 80k words so it hold a special place in my heart. This ship was also the reason I got into demon slayer. (Yes I am aware of Tengen having three wives but their dynamic was appealing)

Obamitsu (Obanai x Mitsuri): I think these two are really nice. When I first started demon slayer I didn't hold strong opinions on them but I think they're very cute now and their ending was heart breaking😭

AmaKaga (Amane x Kagaya): I love these two, they're my favourite canon couple in the series and I'm so upset that they died but at least they died together and for a greater cause.

AoIno (Aoi x Inosuke): This ship seemed to come up out of nowhere for me, like they interact and some of it's funny but would've never seen these two as a couple. It's a ship I'm meh on.

Butterfly girls (platonic, Kanae, Shinobu, Kanao, Aoi): I love the found family bond they have and I want to know more about Kanae but over all any pairing out of these four is only seen as platonic for me.

ObaSane (Obanai & Sanemi): honestly these two just seem like friends to me, like two bestie that like to talk shit about others. I know these two gossip when they get the chance and they definitely talk shit about Giyuu.

RenGiyuu (Rengoku & Giyuu): I like their dynamic of being opposites, it's appealing to me but tend to see them more as friends than anything but still a decent ship.

RenMistu (Rengoku & Mitsuri): Love the sibling bond they have but not really into them being romantic with each other.

Rengoku x Obanai: I don't have mush thoughts on this, it's meh to me.

RenKaza (Rengoku & Akaza): I used to like this ship but now I find it really weird like I'm pretty sure Rengoku hates Akaza and Akaza literally killed Rengoku, so it's a no for me.

RenSane (Rengoku & Sanemi): When Rengoku was my favourite character (he's still in my top five) I shipped him with a lot of characters so that included this ship. I personally don't see now, looking back on it.

GenMui (Genya & Muichirou): I honestly have no idea how I got into this ship, for me I ship Genya and Muichirou romantically and platonically. They're both my favourite characters and I like their personalities and possibly the height difference and their fighting style and strength. I could go on and on, I like these two :) (please don't come after me because these two don't have many interactions)

TanKana (Tanjiro x Kanao): It's cute I think this is one of the few ships I like with Tanjiro, I don't know it sits better with me than some other ships.

MuiTan (Muichirou x Tanjiro): I can see where some people are coming from, Tanjiro is a very shippable character but personally I don't ship Muichirou with anyone other than Genya from occasion-to-occasion.

ZenNezu (Zenitsu x Nezuko): ehhhhh, I'm not a big fan of Zenitsu especially in the earlier seasons but he's kinda grown on me, I don't hate this ship but I also don't really like this ship.

InoZen (Inosuke x Zenitsu): not much feeling about this other than I think Zenitsu is very straight but that's just my opinion. :[

InoTan (Inosuke x Tanjiro): I kinda shipped it but I now see them as more of brothers than romantic partners.

InoTanZen (Inosuke x Tanjiro x Zenitsu): My found brothers pairing but honestly these three are chaotic and I love them but it's definitely platonic.

GenTan (Genya x Tanjiro): These two are my babies but it's more platonic than anything, I love how their friendship had developed over the series.

MuiNezu (Muichirou x Nezuko): Similar to MuiTan I only really ship Muichirou with Genya but this ship makes less sense to me than Muitan because Nezuko and Muichirou interact less Genya and Muichirou so the ship seems to be coming out of nowhere for me.

Sanemi & Genya: God their relationship breaks every time, I love both of them and I just want them to be happy and I tend to ignore canon when comes to the ending anyways.

SaneKana (Sanemi x Kanae): Some people will argue that this ship was partly canon but I don't care, it's cute the idea of it but it's not something I personally ship.

Sanegiyuu (Sanemi x Giyuu): I'll be honest I hated Sanegiyuu when I first started getting into demon slayer, it could've been because I didn't like either Sanemi or Giyuu and thought the ship was over down. I will say it has grown on me a lot still not in my top three but I don't hate it and can kinda see where people are coming from. (I have started a plan for a Sanegiyuu fic anyways).

Shinogiyuu (Shinobu x Giyuu): Similar to Sanegiyuu but I don't ship it.

Positive! A Rengoku x Tamayo fic… set in the Kimetsu Academy universe! Has anyone ever paired these two together? No matter—someone will do it, and that someone will be me. 😤😀 I’ve always thought Rengoku would naturally gravitate towards an older woman, and who is more beguiling than the beautiful, worldly and mysterious health instructor? 😍 Yushiro will be in it, and he will not be happy.

My Dashing Rengoku Sensei: The Quiz—a series of vignettes detailing Mitsuri’s time as Rengokus’s tsuguko. While she’s crushing on him of course! It’s been super fun to write this when I wait for / am on flights and rides—a great way to relax and lighten up between writing the more intense and heavier stuff. It doesn’t really have a plot and might never complete lol. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Fics completed:

Stay (18+) | Sanemi x Reader, Part One: "You’re an old soul with your own bitter past, assigned to help the Wind Hashira recover from his injuries. But healing him is not going as planned, and both of you feel the intense push and pull of each other’s presence. In the face of certain pain, how is it possible that you can still find pleasure?"

Empty Mirror (18+): A dark exploration between Gyomei and an OC female demon, heavily inspired by the Tsui Hark movies from the late 80’s/early 90’s—Green Snake, Fox Spirit, and the Chinese Ghost Story trilogy. All adapted from traditional Chinese folk tales my grandfather (a writer himself) used to tell to me. The human/monk male x demon/ghost female trope is ancient, but still so full of infinite potential. Much of my own ancestral, and cultural/collective themes are explored there.

Fics I’m dreaming up:

The Part Two to Stay, the Sanemi x Reader fic. It will be set after the Infinity Castle Arc, and probably will be called “Seed”. Outlining it is kind of kicking my ass (you can prob guess why) but I’m still here for it, even if my heart will hurt writing it. 🥲 I'm all ears if folks want to share what it is they're hoping to see (or not see) in Part Two.

A short cross-over fic where the majestic Youko Kurama (of Yu Yu Hakusho fame, my very first anime/manga husbando) meets and battles the equally majestic Yoriichi—likely being the (very seamless) encounter that begins Kurama’s incarnation as Minamino Shuichi.

A humor n fluff piece about Tengen called “I’m Tired” where he tries to get a break from his… colorful married life. The inspo is coming almost entirely from this incredible Father John Misty song.

I think these two are cute together! ❤️ I think they are the same age as well? But because of that, maybe they were able to relate to each other more, along with their family histories like you mentioned. that hc of genya writing to kanao because he is too shy to talk is soo cute!!

2.Mui/Nezuko

Unpopular opinion, but I really feel like Mui has more chemistry with Nezuko than Zenitsu does, despite their limited interactions 😭 I mean, zenitsu and nezuko is cute but at the same time its like zenistsu just likes nezuko and nezuko doesnt really care so much about him, she just goes with it 😭 the head tilts that mui does and nezuko copies is cute. even in the last episode of the swordsmith village when mui does it and nezuko copies again, it made me realise that mui only did the head tilts when asking about nezuko 🥹 I've also seen some cute fanarts about them, and its cute that in kimetsu gakuen, they're both in the same class! And I like how they seem to be very comfortable with each other, I love those panels in the manga of Mui showing gingko to nezuko, and nezuko laying on his lap 🥰

3. Mui/Tanjiro

These two are cute as well, its funny how much Mui overly favours tanjiro 😂 there are so many cute fanfics on ao3 about these two being written now because of season 4. and about tanjiro asking about mui's hobbies, its so sweet that kanamori is just sitting with a ton of paper airplanes! Its as if Mui just sits there while kanamori is busy working and makes origami, and then gifts it to kanamori. Why else would he have so many paper planes in his shed 🤣 I agree that too many people make nsfw things about them and thats gross, they are children 😕

That reminds me of that REALLY good genmui artist, you would think her work is official demon slayer art because of how well she draws the characters. But she also made a couple of nsfw drawings of genmui... 😐

4. Rengoku/Misturi

Considering how close they are, I'm disappointed that the anime didnt show mitsuri having more of a reaction to rengoku dying... obanai as well. Mui also had an emotional reaction! at least only after he gained his memories though, he's the only hashira they showed who actually shed tears for rengoku 😭 I will forever prefer obanai for mitsuri, but rengoku does make a good match for her. they are both loud and eccentric characters and suit each other's personalities well 😍

5. Koku/Nakime

I think these two just look good together as well! 🥹 I feel like these two have a regal look about them. could you share that artist's name who draws them please, if thats alright? I feel like Nakime is the only demon who Kokushibo would actually get along with, apart from Muzan 😂 they both seem calm and collected. I heard that Nakime murdered her husband, I dont know if thats true? But it definitely would mean that her husband was not Kokushibo then 🤣

1) I know! There are many people who are not good at speaking and that is why they write and I thought that would be perfect for Genya since he is quite nervous and gets a little angry because he can't speak properly and gets frustrated.

Besides that it would be something that Kanao could also keep, maybe after reading his writings, she would give him a kiss on the cheek and save the paper with Genya's writing to read it when she misses it or have it as a reminder of how cute and pay attention that it is him

2) Well, I've only seen a few chapters or fragments of Kimetsu Academy and I didn't know those panels existed, but it sounds adorable!

I respect your opinion that you think Nezuko has better chemistry with Muichiro than with Zenitsu, they look cute and they are also the same age and there has been a little more interaction with him than with Zenitsu at Kimetsu Academy, due to the fact that they are in the same class and because Zenitsu is always with his trio

4) Their relationship is the same as Sun x Sun, both are always so lively and get along quite well, and many fanarts show how Rengoku takes care of Mitsuri in any situation.

I even saw one where he was willing to wear a uniform just like Mitsuri's so she wouldn't feel so uncomfortable and I found it so cute! (Shinjuro burned that uniform hahahaha).

And the same artist made an image of how Mitsuri remembers Rengoku, both smiling and the time he gave her his haori for her to wear, I cried

5) I will leave the name of the artist in the comments! And yes, it would be somewhat illogical for Nakime to be Kokushibo's wife because it is known that she killed her husband and Kokushibo is as alive as a rock hahahaha.

The two of them would have an introvert x introvert dynamic and they look so cute. Both would not force the other to express themselves because it would be illogical for them to do so when the other is just as introverted as them.

Mitsuri harshly grabbed Kyojuro by his shoulders, dug her freshly painted nails in his skin to form small crescents and screamed in his face with her voice cracking,

"you drANK ALL THE SHAmpoo?!!"

"Yes! Can you believe it?! That old bastard challenged me. Did he really think I wouldn't accept, huh? But I did and I won!" Kyojuro proclaimed and giggled like a little toddler who'd been given his most treasured toy.

"How are you still alive?!"

"You should be asking how I'm not dead...yet-"

"KYOJURO!"

And Mitsuri woke up with a start, realizing all that she'd just witnessed was a terrible nightmare.

Her sleep deprived mind just liked fucking with her.

But if you were Mitsuri though, Kyojuro's best buddy, you wouldn't be so sure.

Loving and Lovable | Bonus Details

Welcome to the extras for: Loving and Lovable (Mature) A Rengoku x Mitsuri fic on AO3

It's Mitsuri's best day and worst day.

This story started out as just a relaxing way for me to pass time while I waited for flights and rides, and also a way for me to decompress from writing the more intense and heavier stories, like Empty Mirror. I didn’t have much intention for it beyond being a kind of light, yummy snack I could return to now and then.

Even the bit of fan art I drew for this is kind of floofy and campy.

But, in the second half of the story, as I got more settled and had more space to focus on this rarepair, I realized what I wanted from writing this Teacher-Student dynamic was to sort out the many complex feelings I had in my own experience of training with martial arts teachers—and male mentors in general—who I wanted to show up in integrity the way Rengoku did in this story.

So, as usual, writing this was a transformative experience for me, and I am thankful for the opportunity to share this unfolding with anyone interested in the evolution of this dynamic and this work. RenMitsu is so full of warmth and caring, and I hope more fics come about starring this loving and lovable pair!

1. Kanao/Genya (GenKana): Ship

A) What made you ship it?:

There are many reasons, the fact that Genya gets nervous in front of girls makes me feel and give the impression that he would be very respectful and that he would treat her with respect.

Now, considering that they are both friends with Tanjiro, this could have been their "cupid" and would have made them take an initiative about their friendship.

In addition, both had family problems (Genya due to his abusive father, while Kanao due to her parents and her family issues), which could have been a topic of conversation and that reached a middle point and both would show how home one has taken their traumas.

Even if we realize, Kanao can't make decisions and Genya can't use breaths, and despite this, they both found a way to "deal" with that problem. In short, it is a nice ship and I would go on too long.

B) What are you favorite things about the ship?:

My HC is that Genya is bad at expressing words and often insults, plus he gets nervous when talking to girls and would probably be frustrated by not being able to talk to Kanao and would be insulting himself as well.

Therefore, he always gives something to Kanao and writes on it what he wants to say, something that makes Kanao's eyes shine and they both simply cannot speak because their faces are red with embarrassment.

C) Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?:

Mmmmm, it's not that popular a ship, therefore, there aren't that many bad opinions about this ship. The few people who know this ship seem to like it, so... Idk...

2) Muichiro/Nezuko (MuiNezu): Ship

A) What made you ship it?:

First of all, they are both the same age and they had a small moment of acquaintance in the Blacksmith Village Arc, and Muichiro is aware that in a part of his mind he has seen Nezuko at some point, although he hasn't remembers it completely.

Secondly, thanks to Muichiro's ancestor, he helped the Kamado descendants remain intact, so there is a close relationship between their ancestors.

I know that Muichiro is not someone who initially seems likeable because of how he treated Tanjiro by throwing a rock at him because he interrupted the boss, because he treated Kotetsu badly and knocked him out, or that he enjoyed making fun of Gyokko, but then you realize that Muichiro is just a kid who He lived for a long time and did not find a way to deal with his emotions and only acted that way because he acquired his brother's behavior.

Muichiro has childish activities and tastes, tastes that Nezuko could have since they both enjoy games, plus Muichiro seemed to care about how Nezuko was when she spoke for the last time with Tanjiro in the episode (before the secret of the Taisho era), so, I like it because it is a ship that has cute fanarts and because I like to think about how innocent the relationships between two children are.

B) What are you favorite things about the ship?:

Most of the fanarts that I have seen of these two show them as a couple, whether friendly or romantic, calm, who enjoys normal things like going for a walk to the fair, eating together, doing work together or hanging out with their friends together.

C) Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?:

I think the most popular opinion with which people try to put this ship down is because Muichiro and Nezuko are "cousins".

First, Michikatsu and Yoriichi are Muichiro's ancestors, the fact that Yoriichi saved Sumiyoshi Kamado does not mean that they are cousins, there has only been a friendship between the two, therefore, they are neither distant nor close cousins, stop with that opinion of doing less to the ship with that nonsensical argument, please

3) Muichiro/Tanjiro (MuiTan): Ship

A) What made you ship it?:

I like the theme of how these two don't have a good interaction because they don't know each other properly but when they meet, everything changes.

Tanjiro was important in making Muichiro see the importance of also seeing for others and for part of the fog in his head to disappear, this act being rewarded when Muichiro throws the katana at Tanjiro so that he complies with defeating Hantengu and saying who trusts him for that mission.

And did you see how lively and curious Tanjiro was in knowing what Tokito liked? It's so nice that they did that competition together and that he managed to relax after a hard training session.

B) What are you favorite things about the ship?:

Mmmm, I've seen a lot of fanarts that unfortunately aren't as cute as the MuiNezu ones... So I guess they would be people's HC's regarding the ship, I've seen some very cute ones but I don't remember as much what they were talking about, I wish know more about this ship because it is very cute and I would not want it to be part of the toxic ships of the KNY community

But what I like the most is their dynamic, they are both cute and they get along quite well.

C) Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?:

The same as the MuiNezu, everyone thinks they are cousins ​​and other things. Although what upsets me the most is that the fandom thinks it's okay to make both of them NSFW, that's wrong.

4) Rengoku/Mitsuri (RenMitsu):Ship

A) What made you ship it?:

Well, I like to think of this more as a brother and sister relationship, but I also like to pair them both romantically.

I like to believe that Rengoku was surprised by Mitsuri's determination to continue with the training even though it was "torture" and that's why she was Rengoku's only tsuguko, plus it's canon that they shared meals together.

When Rengoku died, she was the only one who showed the mood to cry and probably did so because she had lost her mentor at that time, so it is clear that they both appreciated each other.

B) What are you favorite things about the ship?:

I don't know if you have read a manga that shows more interaction between Rengoku and Mitsuri, plus Mitsuri's haori originally belonged to Kyojuro and he gave it to him as a gift for her entry into the demon slayer guild.

We are also shown the concern of both when the mission ends when they realize the other's injuries, which indicates the affection they have for each other.

C) Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?:

Hmmm, I haven't seen a bad opinion about this ship honestly, apparently because people don't ship them but rather represent them as an older brother and a younger sister, so I don't have an unpopular opinion about this ship.

5) Kokushibo/Nakime (KokuNaki): Ship

A) What made you ship it?:

Well, I guess the first time I encountered the ship was when it was on Pinterest, but at that time I didn't recognize the difference between ship and friendship, so I just liked it. I like to think that both of them are quite close since they are Muzan's right hand man and they may have been summoned at the same time and while Muzan was carrying out his activities, they exchanged a few words waiting for the next order. Besides, it is nice to think that Kokushibo, since he is calm, serene and likes calm, enjoys enjoying the melody of Nakime's biwa

B) What are you favorite things about the ship?:

I suppose that they are only the HC's of an artist that I follow and that her main content focuses on the KokuNaki ship, I really like how she draws them and the HC's that she has given them as a couple

C) Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?:

I think the only controversy the ship has is that many believe that Nakime is Haruhime, Michikatsu's wife. But it would be uncertain since they are both from different eras and the age difference is enormous, so it would be impossible.

In addition to the fact that people consider that they have no potential as a ship due to their little (no) interaction in the anime
