Wait where do you live that you have to register your little free library? Is this an HOA thing because I can’t find any state or local ordinances for it where I live at least

if you want to register a LFL with the official website, it'll cost you $50USD, which is close to $100AUD

you don't have to register with them but to appear on their "find a LFL near you" thing, you do have to register and pay the fee

which kind of defeats the point of it all being free 🙃

let me introduce you to the magic of book chats!

book chats are a thing my library network run in different libraries. the idea is that you all get together once a month and just talk about whatever you've been reading. some of us like historical fiction, some thrillers, some nonfiction. but we always have great discussions because everyone turns up with an open mind and just wants to share their joy of reading

also: i worried for years about joining a book club because I'm a mood reader. last year, i took the plunge and joined one anyway. the first book i read with them was /awful/, it wasn't to my taste, it was boring and i was so terrified i'd be looked down on for not finishing it. turns out most of us didn't finish it, and it was perfectly okay. we just talked about why we struggled with it instead, and we've done that with lots of books. there is always someone who didn't like the book or didn't finish it or didn't pick it up at all. so don't think that you're not going to be welcome if you can't get through the books, just try your best and you might be pleasantly surprised <3

The desire to join a book club and make new friends and be social vs. Wanting to read what I want, when I want, at the pace that I want, without the pressure of deadlines

I loved your drawing(and I love your style in general) with Leia in your recent post! If/when you have time can we see more of her in your style? I get so happy whenever I actually see people mention/talk about her and she’s not just forgotten because we didn’t get to see much of her. 😭

thank you! 💙💙💙 Leia/Leah/Lea/whatever is fascinating to me. she is the ultimate unknown. what was she like? how involved (or even aware of any details of the invasion) was she? Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

actually you know what, as long as we're here, I think I WILL go ahead and just make some stuff up about what Silver might've inherited from her instead.

43. Title of a book you own that's in the worst physical condition you have. Explain what happened to it. Post a picture if you want it's not the one in the worst conditions but it has a story behind it lol my copy of A Voice in the Distance by Tabitha Suzuma got water warped. I was in hospital in mid-December one year and my mum brought it to me as an early Christmas present. I started reading it immediately because I'd been hanging out for it after borrowing the first one at the library. my fever got worse that night so the nurse put a damp cloth on my forehead to help bring it down and at some point in the night, she took it off me and put it next to the book. the water leeched into the pages and they are still crumpled and rippled 17 years later 😂

50. What kind of book have you never read but always hope to find at some point in the future? I'll die happy when I find a book about a disabled butch getting the romance of their dreams with another butch. I'll probably have to write it but whatever it takes 😂

hi! i'm not quite sure what you mean in my style (you can send me a reference pic!), so i just converted the one from TS3 for some older-fashioned variety. added some random muted colors (feel free to recolor). and ofc it requires tiny living

and you're right - there are barely any cc murphy beds, weirdly enough. it's no harder to make than a door, so it's interesting no one has really made any. i did find quite a good recolor here though
