gonna be honest. i had a harder time w the kingdom of coronas boss than everything in the late game so far and i dont know how to feel abt that

rubs my hands together. do you think repliku (and replitwos) stories ended with kh3? ive always thought they did, but the desperate coping part of me keeps thinking about the common themes of kh having an "everyone deserves a second chance/a chance to live/to be happy" theme, and how they just. floated away. so i want to know if uve got any theories or thoughts about it!

Okay when I first read this ask before bed, I feel like I had an epiphany, but I was so tired that I was like "eh I'll respond in the morning" and now its been days and I DONT REMEMBER WHAT I WAS GOING TO SAY!!!!! and I'm soooo annoyed with myself 😭 laksjdfasdf

So let me say this until I remember, I personally feel both repliku and replitwo/dark riku's story are over. I'm always curious of the "there's more to dark riku in BH6" theories I used to occasionally see, but I don't think I read anything that fully convinced me since I don't really remember what anyones points were 💀 I feel like if I was convinced, I would remember in my "mental conspiracy board of suspicious details" LMAO.

I think my epiphany was maybe that dark riku (who is repliku from the time of CoM that he was convinced he was really riku), had longer hair in KH3, but looking at it on my computer and not my phone, I don't think that's the case anymore. I think (any) young riku's hair just flairs out more when he has the black coat on because of the thick hood.

The reason I thought that was so interesting though is because it would mean dark riku/replitwo would have been walking around in the future long enough to actually age, rather than two short-ish trips in the future in both DDD and KH3. And it would have also confirmed that Roxas/Xion/Namine will actually age, and it would be nice to have that confirmation LMAO.

im rotating kh3 and riku and repliku in my mind with the concept of Jung and the shadow and i genuinely think that the upcoming games will be about Riku (and Sora) finally contending with Riku's actions and motivations in KH1. it's not just the foreshadowing of calling replitwo the big bad. It's to do with the constant signalling that Riku has locked some part of himself deep inside, and the repetition of imagery for sora of Riku's outstretched hand.

Fuck it. Riku Replica has been living in my head like I found him in the Realm of Darkness, so here's a bunch of canon divergence concepts that I'm too lazy to write into full stories:

1: Repliku doesn't walk away after the Marluxia fight. Instead he also gets a pod and goes to sleep so Namine can fix his heart and make him like the real Riku, but with the Darkness locked away. Sora wakes up and sees Repliku in his pod. He wakes him up, assuming it's the real Riku and they go home to the islands. The real Riku (looking like Ansem) is then responsible for having to stop the Organization and deal with knowing that Sora doesn't even realize that Replica isn't him..

2: Repliku gets his ass beat into the ROD at the end of COM, but ends up on the Dark Margin and meets Aqua. They become friends. She helps him grow out of being a dickhead and he ends up sacrificing himself so that she can follow Sora and Riku into the Realm of Light at the end of KH2. He then gets kidnapped , Norted, and drafted into The Real Org from there.

3. On his his first visit to the ROD with Mickey, Riku finds Repliku, but he still has his physical form but BIGGO DEPRESSION. No angry, just despair to the point of being near catatonic. Mickey and Riku bring him back to Yen Sid's where he just stares out the window, not talking or moving until Sora shows up. And is like "Another Riku??? Can I have him??" Since the real Riku and Mickey are still going back to find Aqua, Yen Sid says fuck it, and let's Repliku go with SDG. The simple fact that Sora WANTS him to come along (even though he isn't real) combine with Donald and Goofy saying yes he can come with them (as apposed to kh1) is enough bring him to near tears. And he goes with them on their adventures and begins to heal and become his own person, with Sora noting how different he is from Riku and even giving him a different name like Kiru, or Cave or some shit.

He gets to save Namine

4. (This one is a Dark Riku/Replitwo Electric Boogaloo one) No Repliku in this one. Dark Riku is the Replica from deep into Castle Oblivion before his heart gets smashed and his memries are the most fucked up. During their interactions he keeps saying the weird shit like "always trying tonworm your way into my heart" and "it never mattered to you" and "I bet you'd all but forgotten about me" and all that stuff from COM. Sora beats him at the KBGY and he tells Sora to finish him off-- that he had already broken his heart, he might as well tear it out of him put him out of his misery. Sora doesn't (obviously) he's just super confused as to why he's saying all these things cause he thought this is Riku Ansem, but is realizing now it's not.

Xigbar, who is fighting the real Riku sees Sora is distracted. He knocks Riku back and takes his shot. Dark Riku, utterly broken and defeated, still notices and pushes Sora out of the way, taking the hit and saving him.

By this time, Riku is back up and back at the fight.

Sora, however is stunned, and as Dark Riku lay fading, he wants to know why he saved him. But all the Dark Riku says as finally fades is "Sora, let's take the raft and go. Just the two of us..." and then he's gone.

These are all up for grabs. If any of them are interesting to you, let me know and I might do some art of them, but not a whole ass comic cause I'm really slow at art and it takes forever.

i love how when a kh fan refers to three characters as a trio sometimes it’s like ‘this is literally canon it’s an established group in the story and acknowledged by official art/marketing/etc’ and sometimes it’s like ‘ok so we don’t strictly speaking have proof that the three of them have ever interacted before or even know each other exist but listen dude just trust me. it could be so cool’

This is my janky KH AU where the kids just live in the same area/go to the same school. Here’s a basic layout for the different households so far!

Scientist Household

Aeleus and Even are married. The have eight kids.

Terra, Ansem, and Xemnas are triplets and the eldest kids

Ienzo is next, and despite not being oldest, he’s lived with Ael and Even the longest

The Repliku Twins are Rey and Luke (No it’s not after Star Wars)

Xion is the first girl and the newest member of the family

Namine is the youngest, and she’s loved by all her fam

Land of Departure Home

Eraqus is a single father

Aqua is his blood daughter 

Ventus and Vanitas are adopted, and are twins

Disney Household

Mickey owns the house and is Riku’s dad

Riku and Kairi are blood siblings

Sora, Donald, and Goofy live there too

Donald and Goofy are Sora’s legal guardians

Others of Note

Isa and Lea share an apartment, and Roxas is Lea’s little brother

Dilan and Braig also share an apartment

The Foretellers run a school called Daybreak Academy

Lauriam, Elrena, Rudlo, and Myed are college students and rooming together
