―  PLOT DROP & LIMITED EVENT: THE SLUG CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY.

In the aftermath of the acolyte’s attack on London, autumn has slipped quietly into winter. The hunt for the perpetrators continues, with only a handful of arrests made so far, including the recent and shocking detainment of well-known socialite Ambrose Selwyn. Reparation efforts remain ongoing, aided by several philanthropic organisations and ministry departments. Professor Horace Slughorn is the latest to join the cause, announcing his plans to turn his annual Christmas party into a fundraising dinner. While attendance is usually reserved for former and current members of the eponymous Slug Club, this year tickets to attend will be available to purchase, with all profits made going towards the repair effort. Donations will also be accepted during the cause of the evening.  The party will begin at eight o’clock in the evening on December 10th, and will be held in the dungeons and Horace Slughorn’s office at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Guests may bring a plus one if they so desire, and formal dress and black tie is required.

The next plot drop has arrived everyone! The event will be live from DECEMBER 10TH 2021, so there’s plenty of time for players to plot beforehand if they wish to. Some players may be getting messages from the moderator in the upcoming days with some additional information related to their character in connection with the event. Stay tuned! Please remember to tag any starters with #riddlestarter but also an event tag. The event will run until DECEMBER 31ST after which no new threads should be posted. Ongoing threads can continue past this point, just make sure to indicate it’s an event thread somewhere to avoid confusion! Have fun and happy roleplaying!

―  OPENING PLOT DROP: THE ACOLYTE ATTACK.

It is November 1945. Months ago, in a duel equal parts legendary and terrifying, the campaign of Gellert Grindelwald was extinguished. The wizarding world staggers on in a bid to recover from a war that echoed across the globe. Efforts continue to repair the destruction caused, and in particular to restore the barrier of secrecy over the muggle world. But though Grindelwald may be locked away in a prison of his own making and the war officially over, peace is fickle thing. The day that Albus Dumbledore is due to be honoured at the Ministry of Magic for his part in ending the war, chaos erupts in London. A group of Grindelwald’s remaining acolytes storm the streets, proving that a man might be beaten... but his creed yet lingers. Scorched buildings, screams and curses follow in their wake as they tear through both muggle and magical London alike, seeking retribution for their fallen master. Diagon Alley is caught in the crossfire, a sea of shattered glass and flames. Dozens are killed, scores more injured―and then the culprits are gone almost as swiftly as they’d arrived; but not without leaving a parting message for the world. Scrawled across almost every surface, hexed on by means unknown and unable to be removed, is the phrase that spawned a worldwide war: 𝔽𝕆ℝ 𝕋ℍ𝔼 𝔾ℝ𝔼𝔸𝕋𝔼ℝ 𝔾𝕆𝕆𝔻.

Hello and welcome to Riddle, everyone! Our grand opening and first plot drop is here. I’m super excited to see all of your threads on the dash at last. Threads should be assumed to take place after the attack has happened, but other than that there are no limitations or time limit on them. Your character might have been there, they might not, it’s entirely up to you! A special tag isn’t needed, but do remember to be mindful of certain topics that may need tagging and to post your starters using the #riddlestarter tag.
