If yes to any of those, would you like to MAKE PREVIOUSLY STATED VIDEO GAME WITH ME?

I have been conceptualizing a JRWI video game called Moonlight, Storm, and Blackened Sea for a few months now. Unfortunately, with no motivation to make it beyond thinking "it would be a cool finished product," I have not made much progress. But if I have people working with me, my brain will kick into action because people will be depending on me!

I am a writer first and foremost. While I could theoretically make the entire game myself (as I have experience in writing, art, coding, and music), I would never actually finish the game for previously stated reasons. If I had an artist, coder(s), and perhaps even story consultants (although probably not necessary), MSABS might actually become a reality.

The MSABS project would make no profits, and it would be entirely created from volunteer work. I am a broke ass bitch. But if you don't care and simply want to create something amazing with me, then please, DM me!

So far, I have 2 branches plotted storywise out of - oh, I'm not sure, maybe 25? 30? I have drawn 9 sketches out of around 30 main backgrounds (excluding bg variations). I've recreated 6/9 music tracks from the official Riptide soundtracks into 8bit tunes. If people actually sign onto the project, I'll be moving forward as Creative Director, Head Writer, Storyboard Artist, and Music Producer. Still leaves a LOT of room on the project, especially on the coding side.

I genuinely think MSABS would be insanely cool. Please, if you have any questions about my overall game vision, please send me an ask and I'll try my best to give thorough answers! This game has been living rent free in my brain since March, and it needs to get out!

MSABS Q&A Stream on 7/11!

Hello everyone! Have you wanted to ask questions about MSABS but simply haven't gotten around to it? Are you interested in asking Destire about the progress we've made and how we're going about making MSABS? Well, we've got a special announcement to make!

On July 11th, from 6 PM to 8 PM (PST), Destire will be livestreaming on Twitch! What are we doing? Playing a very old game called Sid Meier's Pirates!, roleplaying as our beloved Riptide captain, Chip JRWI! Hang out and watch as we build a crew, raid ships, and blunder our way to glory! Ask questions about MSABS! We'll have quite a few of the team on call, so it should definitely be a fun ride!

We will be streaming on Ralex Sol's Twitch channel, as Ralex Sol is the one who will be actually playing the game. We hope to see you there! Spread the word around, tune in, have fun with us! :)

how much can you fit under your skin?

Will the game only take place in the navy base or will there be moments on the ship as well?

Is it just going to be jay, chip, and gillion or will there be other members of the crew? And like the moment when gillion meets kuba kenta? (Omg is letting him out an option?)

Would the game be playable even if you haven't listened to the podcast? (I know anyone could play but would you need to have listened to the podcasts to understand what is going on?)

Do we know it's okay to make a fan game and use the characters? Don't wanna feel like we're stealing them

Are you going to use the same puzzles and traps and stuff from the episode?

Essentially, the video game spans the entirety of Episode #114 and only #114. So, that includes their arrival at the Navy stronghold on the Albatross. And yes, before and after the captains are in the stronghold, the rest of the crew will make appearances (as in the real episode).

The exact route the Council takes will be available, so yes, there is the opportunity to speak with Kuba Kenta.

As this is Episode #114, playing the video game would definitely have spoilers for Riptide. I think watching Riptide would provide a lot of context for the content in the game. You wouldn't want to watch Episode #114 by itself, would you?

Fangames are made all the time from media. MSABS would be transforming art into something new, and will be available for free. It's akin to fanart or fanfiction. Do you ask permission to write fanfiction? I will be asking Nathan Hanover for permission to use my 8bit renditions of his Riptide tracks, but even so, I do think the 8bit tracks I have made are transformative enough that they would avoid copyright.

Puzzles and traps are a yes. There will be numerous ways for you to kill off one or all of the captains, depending on your choices. That's not a bad thing necessarily, though, if you want to explore all the endings.
