How long have they been away from Cybertron, and is the planet alright or a hustle world?

I think at some point I'm gonna make a post with all my AU content in chronological order, but for now you can just have my notes on the timeline.

Nova Prime enacts “The Expansion,” for which the first wave of cold constructed Cybertronians are brought online

Megatron (1st cycle 012) and Orion Pax are born under Functionalism. Megatron is one of the first cold constructed mechs.

The Constructicons are created

Nova Prime disappears into the dead universe and Nominus Prime takes leadership under a new corrupt senate. Expansion is put on hold

Megatron works as a miner in Tarn (demolition=menial labor class) Megs wanted to be a medic but quickly gives up on that dream

Orion Pax works as a dock worker in Iacon (truck=transport class) OP wanted to be an archivist and is able to work his way up to it due to having access to greater social mobility

Cybertron experiences no shortage of violence: civil wars, riots, off-world campaigns, and alien invasions continue to happen sporadically throughout its history. Wanting to bolster Cybertron’s airforce, a new style of war-frame is designed and mass produced. These cold constructed jets received the classification: Seekers (after their intended function: seek and destroy)

Skywarp is born (6th cycle 023) as a first generation Seeker and was immediately sent to the military. He is then at some point reassigned to spec ops due to his powerful outlier ability.

Seekers offline too easily so the next few waves of Seekers are sent to the Cybertronian War Academy for training before joining the military

Skywarp is sent to Praxus and subjected to intensive study. Space bridge and quantum based hyper-drive technology will later see great advancements thanks to his contributions to science

Thundercracker is brought online as one of the last batch of Seekers (24th cycle 124). By then the Cybertronian War Academy roster was too full so he was given the (limited) option to pick his vocation. He chose to work as a courier in Vos.

“Those who were constructed cold face institutionalized apartheid; although this eventually ends due to mounting public pressure, including mass protests and marches. However, intrinsic prejudice against constructed cold Transformers persists in among a sizable percentage of the population.” -tfwiki

Megatron and pax become friends while advocating against cold construct apartheid and functionalism. Pax considered Megatron like a brother to him but Megatron always felt distanced by their class divide

Scientists have been pulling sparks out of the Matrix faster than frames can be constructed for them. Sparks without ready frames will be “frozen” for future use

The Matrix "runs dry" (is replaced by a fake) and cold construction as a common method of creation stops entirely

The Senate’s evil science division, the Institute, establishes Shadowplay and Empurata as common practices

The energy crisis forces a planet-wide rationing of resources

Cryak commissions a Seeker frame to be constructed and has a thawed spark placed in it. Starscream is born (22nd cycle 415).

4.5 million BCE

Due to the energy crisis, tension is high between city-states. The Senate establish the sport of Gladiatorial games to try and mitigate the animosity. These games are held in Kaon and become very popular

Starscream defies Functionalism by pursuing many different jobs. Whenever he would get in trouble or fall on hard times he’d turn to Thundercracker for help

Orion Pax encourages Megatron to publish his political writings

Orion Pax joins the police force

The first appearance of the pacifist grassroots movement calling themselves Decepticons. Their ideology is based on Megatron’s first published treatise

Megatron is caught in a bar fight and is wrongfully arrested. Whirl beats him up in jail, changing Megatron’s perspective on violence

Megatron loses his job due to automation and signs up to be a gladiator

Starscream goes to college (not really, I just like to call the period of time where he went to work as a Scientist in Iacon "college" cuz it's funny XD) and meets Skyfire. The two become close

Senator Protius promises to make the Decepticons a real political party by way of census. In truth he just wanted a list of names so they can shadowplay all the Decepticons. Skyfire almost signs on but Starscream convinces him not to

Megatron continues to publish his writings while gaining fame as a gladiator. The Decepticon movement takes a shift from pacifism towards terrorism

Skywarp likes watching the gladiator fights whenever they are assigned to patrol the events  

The gladiator Ravage finds a discarded Soundwave struggling to deal with his telepathic powers and takes him under his wing

Skywarp plays a prank on the government

Starscream and Skyfire go off-world on an expedition, intending to travel to the Sol system and back (they're gone for about 40 turns on the Cybertronian calendar, or approximately 50,000 Earth years)

The Senate discover Nominus’ matrix is a fake and have him secretly killed

The Senate enacts the Clampdown

Thundercracker loses his job and is forced to join the military

4.3 million BCE

Senator Shockwave gets shadowplayed

Sentinel Prime takes leadership

The Decepticons begin secretly forming an army under Megatron

Orion Pax and Megatron break up

Starscream returns to Cybertron without Skyfire and is subsequently tried for Skyfire’s murder, for which he was found innocent. He is still expelled from the Academy

Starscream goes back to Vos, and crashes on Thundercracker's couch for a while

Thundercracker takes Starscream to watch a gladiator fight, which is where Starscream takes note of Megatron

Despite his reservations, Starscream joins the military in order to learn how to fight as well as gain rapport with the military Seekers

While stealing a military airship, Megatron finds Skywarp locked up in the ship's engine room and rescues him. Skywarp joins the Decepticons

Tension between Vos and Tarn is at an all time high, leading to outright civil war between the two city-states

4 million BCE

The Bombing of Vos ends the civil war

Megatron shows up to recruit Decepticons in the aftermath of the Vos-Tarn civil war. Starscream stands up and gives a speech that convinces the majority of Vos' Seeker population to join the Decepticons

Starscream joins the Decepticons

Starscream uses Skywarp to get close to Megatron

The Decepticons threaten war by launching an attack on Iacon. Starscream leads the group that levels the Academy to the ground. He doesn't feel better.

Thundercracker is deployed to help quell the Decepticon activity in Iacon. Thundercracker confronts Starscream and Starscream begs him for help. Thundercracker joins the Decepticons

Megatron is captured and almost gets shadowplayed, but escapes thanks to Starscream, Skywarp, and Soundwave

Megatron no longer thinks the current system can be changed, even with violence. Now his aim is to burn it all down and rebuild from scratch.

Starscream and Soundwave massacre the entire Senate 

Shockwave joins the Decepticons

Megatron officially declares war

Megatron defeats Sentinel Prime and Zeta Prime takes leadership

The Fall of the First Five Cities

Zeta Prime attempts a war crime, Orion Pax and Megatron team up to stop him, and then Megatron betrays Orion and leaves him to die

1991

Shockwave completes his space bridge and visits Earth, only to find Megatron has completely lost the plot. After serving on Earth for a few years he goes back to Luna 2 with the intent on finishing his doomsday device, only to find Sunstorm has escaped. He begins migrating his lab to the Decepticon's ocean base on Earth in order to finish his work there.

Megatron obtains frozen sparks from Cybertron and builds the Stunticons. The Autobots rescue half the sparks he had brought over and create the Aerialbots

Starscream's plots to overthrow Megatron are becoming more and more unhinged. At some point he goes to Cybertron and steals some incarcerated memory components and builds the Combaticons, effectively freeing these criminals (including Swindle) from jail

Hot Rod and the Lost Light crew arrive on Earth

2008

Megatron goes too far

Thundercracker defects

2009

After the Decepticons destroyed several human cities, the Autobots finally defeat Megatron with the help of their human allies at the Battle of New York

Seeing that Megatron has fallen, Starscream declares himself the new leader, but Soundwave rescues Megatron's mostly dead body and convinces Shockwave to try and fix him

Optimus Prime dies of his injuries and Bumblebee becomes leader

Hot Rod, now going by Rodimus, leaves Earth on the Lost Light

2010

The humans are justifiably angry with the Cybertronians for destroying their world. Unable to leave the planet, the remaining Decepticons either get captured or go into hiding. 

Thundercracker watches a lot of TV and is now friends with Bumblebee

The Autobots are helping capture Decepticons on Earth

Starscream struggles to lead the Decepticons

2011

Sunstorm arrives on Earth

Starscream frees the Decepticons from human containment, but they still wont follow him

2012

The humans have rebuilt the cities that were destroyed by the Decepticons three years ago

Everyone basically living as tho the war is over

Megatron is brought back by Shockwave and immediately goes to punish Starscream for doing a poor job leading the Decepticons, even tho Starscream did his best.

Skywarp's loyalty to Megatron finally breaks apart, and he gets them out of there before Megatron turns violent, effectively defecting from the Decepticons

Starscream tries to apologize to Thundercracker in order to get his help with fighting Megatron, but Thundercracker turns him down. Starscream shoots Thundercracker in the back, much to Skywarp’s dismay

Starscream and Skywarp hide out on Earth for a bit

Megatron is trying to gather his scattered forces, specifically the combiners

Starscream and Skywarp have an argument and part ways for a bit

Starscream comes across some Decepticon activity and attacks them

Megatron shows up and begins beating Starscream to a pulp

Skywarp jumps in to save Starscream but is shot mid-warp and his warp drive destabilizes

With no other option, Starscream turns to the Autobots for help, with Skywarp in tow

Thundercracker gets a dog

You (Don’t) Know Me

Insecticons x Reader

• Servos digging through the pile of soft things and separating out the shiny bits, Kickback’s hands still before fisting in the sheer material and bringing it to his face to scent. So much softer than anything else in the pile, translucent and a soft peach color. Finer than anything he’s ever touched, he imagines lining his berth with it. And before he can subspace it, Bombshell is snatching it out of his servos. “Good. Exactly what Megatron wanted,” he hisses, taking off with it.

• Watching Kickback’s antenna droop slightly, Shrapnel digs another soft thing from the pile and offers it to his brother. “Just as soft, soft.” Taking it, Kickback frowns and slides his servos against the material. Knows his brother likes humans, that he’s fascinated by the soft, little things. That he’s been snooping about spying on the Elite Trine, Soundwave, and the Constructicons lately. Dissatisfied with their lot.

• “Don’t you want more?” Kickback growls, venting when Shrapel offers him another soft covering as he absently subspaces the shinies. “Decepticons don’t respect us.” No, they just yell at them. Order them about. And now, cut their rations so he’s always hungry. Reduced to stealing again. “We don’t need the Decepticons.”

• “Decepticons have the energon, energon.” Shrapnel reminds him, toying with a soft woven strip of material, trying to figure out what it is. Do the organics just wrap it about their torsos? Understands Kickback’s frustration, because he’s right. They aren’t respected, most of the time the other Decepticons sneer at them. Treat them like they’re lesser, not understanding that their alt modes are clearly better. They’re the superior Cybertronians, just badly outnumbered. If there were more of them, they’d be respected.

• Antenna lifting as Bombshell returns, Kickback’s head tilts. “We can find our own energon. As much as we want. No more rations,” he hisses, getting Bombshell’s attention. “Don’t need the Decepticons. We can have our own hive. Our own soft mate.” A little human to warm their berths. “Even the Constructicons have one,” he adds knowing how much that little bit of intel will anger the other two.

• “The Constructicons?” Bombshell growls, words hissing. “They aren’t even real Cybertronians.” Made here on this mudball, they’ve never even been to the homeworld. Servos flexing, he studies Kickback’s hopeful expression. He’s right that they don’t need the Decepticons, the Decepticons need them. But a human toy? To be fair, he supposes they could always devour it if it’s not satisfactory. He’s been curious about how the little, soft things might taste anyway. Laughing, he claps a hand against his brothers’s backs. “We don’t need them.” And hunting one of the little humans? That could be fun.

• Flipping on the porch light, broom clutched in your hands, you head around the side of the house. Wondering if it’s those stupid raccoons again or the neighbor’s big dog as you hear the trash cans rattle again. “Come on, you little gremlins,” you mutter, squinting and wishing you’d grabbed a flashlight. And there, a red… glow? That’s not animal eyeshine. It’s too dark to make out what you’re seeing, but your skin crawls. Heart racing, you lift the broom fully aware of how painfully inadequate it is as whatever you’re looking at rises. And keeps rising, your head tipping back to stare at that red glow now towering over you. Hell, no. Sucking in a breath, you scream and throw the broom at it, spinning to run and falling on your ass as another one appears, shadowy shape crouched. Rolling, you bolt away from them both, hearing a chattering laughter as the things chase, herding you into the woods and away from safety.

Shattered Steel - Scrapper

🌵 It's not exactly a complete work, just some of my thoughts on the scrapper death scene. And I felt sad when he died 😔.

🌵 Character dialogue will not be the same as in the comic.

Scrapper stumbled, a soft his escaping his vents. Spike's acid splashed across his optics before he could react, the searing liquid burning into his vision with an agony that made him scream in silence. The acid spread quickly, blurring his sight, and soon, all he could see was a distorted, fiery haze.

Scrapper shifted, attempting to retreat, but his foot caught on a fallen beam. He staggered, attempting to reach for his weapon, but his movements were sluggish. Desperation clawed at his chest.

A deafening sound tore through the silence.

Scrapper raised his head, but it was too late. A long steel bar, rusted and rotten or deliberately knocked down, fell straight from the scaffolding above.For a brief moment, his fighting instinct made him retreat, but not fast enough.

The tip of the steel bar pierced through the armor plate on his left shoulder, pinning him to the cracked concrete ground. The impact was so strong that it cracked his chest, causing his entire motor system to falter. An electric whine sounded from the engine behind him as Scrapper tried to rise, but his legs were crushed by another series of steel beams, trapping him in place like an elaborate trap.

The smell of ozone and burnt oil rose. The internal circuit shorted out. Scrapper let out a low growl.

And then… footsteps.

Slow. Heavy. Human.

Spike stepped into view, his eyes burning with determination.

"I wanted to show you that one of us can beat you. No lasers. None of your technology. Just a solution that can be made out of stuff anyone would have in their kitchen." Spike continued, his voice unwavering.

Scrapper tried to raise his hand in a gesture of surrender. "I surrender," Scrapper said, voice hoarse through damaged vocoders. "Put... suppressors on. I'll go willingly."

Spike’s response was cold. "I'm not here to take you in. I’m here to end this."

Scrapper’s spark sank, understanding all too well what that meant. His optics were already failing him, but he still heard the click of the gun being drawn. His own gun, now in the hands of the very human he had been fighting against for so long.

"No," Scrapper whispered, his voice barely audible.

Spike didn’t hesitate. In one smooth motion, he aimed the gun and fired.

The shot rang out.

For a brief moment, time itself seemed to still. And then, pain. Excruciating pain. His head felt as if it were being torn apart. And then, a deep, dark void.

Silence.

Somewhere in the dark abyss of unconsciousness, Scrapper lingered.

His thoughts were fragmented, memories of the Constructicons, of his brothers, of the fleeting moments of camaraderie that now seemed so far away. But then there was something else... something soft, something familiar.

He could almost hear a voice. Someone, calling his name. A voice that wasn't Spike's. It was... yours.

But it was distant. Faint.

Transformers Outcry

I've been tinkering with this AU for like 7 months now

Pre-War

-Before the war Optimus. was a rescue worker, similar to earth firefighters.

-Named Orion Pax, duh.

-Brother was named Roller, a dockworker.

-Born as D-16, Megatron was an underground political figure and construction worker under a local labor union, before being falsely arrested for a terrorist attack.

-While incarcerated he was forced to work in the mines, and gaining a bigger political following along his fellow inmates, would later name himself after the warrior poet Megatronus Prime.

-The mines collapsed and forced Orion and the emergency rescue department to assist in a rescue effort, this leading to Orion digging out Megatronus and his crew.

-Orion stayed with them till they were cleared medically, they all talked and picked each others brains.

-The prison was shutdown due to the mining operation being illegal and retaining exonerated inmates, thanks to the efforts of Deep Cover's espionage.

-With Megatronus and his friends now freed Orion pulled some strings and they were offered positions at docks, courtesy of Roller.

-Megatronus' words would spread through all the working class bots, and he would regain his political following.

-Him and Orion would form the Robots For Autonomy political movement to do away with the government's restrictive caste system and unfair policing institution.

Inciting Events

-Deep Cover and Clampdown would take matters into their own hands with help of other likeminded bots they would build a case to arrest corrupt Police chief, Dominus Major, on conspiracy charges linking him to the corrupt prison system and the deaths of many prisoners forced to worked in the mines.

-Clampdown would unfortunately die shielding his older brother, being shot by one of Dominus' co-conspirators, his death leading to mass riots and stoking the fires of rebellion on Cybertron.

-Following the martyrdom of Clampdown, the public outcry for reforming the justice system grew and the senate took this as an excuse to exercise more lethal tactics on the rioting masses.

-This period of unrest caused the birth of the rebellion cell named The Rise and their members known as Ascenticons.

-Orion and Megatronus would work day and night with their party members to help the populous during this dire political strife, medical aid, rescue missions for those trapped under rubble and the rebuilding what had been levelled.

-The Rise would finally make themselves known, in a mass bombing so devastating that marked the end of the golden age.

The War To Birth The END

-With The Rise making themselves known to the hierarchy and the aristocracy, an all out civil war had been born over night.

-Stretched to their absolute thinnest Orion and Megatronus are all hands tending to civilians and injured combatants seeking asylum, eventually word spread of their deeds leading to more bots joining their cause, such as Optimus' friends from the rescue department Ratchet, Inferno and Hoist and the other dockworkers.

-Heralded as saviors by the rescued, Orion and Megatronus would be seen as the leaders that were needed to dismantle the broken societal system that plagues their beloved Cybertron.

-Though the pair would not leave mentally unscathed, the event now known as "War of The Risen" left them changed but unified under one opinion, that violence was tool for change.

-The process of rebuilding cybertron was now up to the people and Megatronus rallied his comrades to form the constructicons, a construction guild to generate jobs and to rehabiliate the demolished parts of Cybertron, eventually gaining the quiet attention of Senator Quietus.

-Orion would help the social side of society by expanding social programs with help of Senator Shockwave.

-All seemed to have been progressing back to how it used to be until, Sentinel Prime had gone mad, the polarizing leader of Cybertron had started a fascist insurrection and developed a method of turning Cybertronians into massive marauders, his gestapo made of the arrested Ascenticons who are now prisoners of their own minds, the procedure would later be known as Empurata.

-To save the public and their community Orion and Megatronus put aside any pacifism they had left and took up arms, forming a resistance group

-This War took it's toll, many lives lost and many more former changed, the ones who survived allied themselves with the dual resistance leaders, Sentinel's madness progressing to the point where he artificially labeled the resistance fighters as part of The Rise and calling them all Ascenticons.

-Orion and Megatronus took on the name with pride and turned it into a name that would inspire the people.

-As the war against Sentinel neared it's end Orion and Megatronus stormed his citadel with an all sorts of improvised weaponry including his old drill and a squadron made up of their most loyal friends, Ironhide, Breakdown, Skyfire, Starscream, Jazz and Deadlock.

-The group split up to disable the war machines and destroy the reprogramming labs, while Orion and Megatronus took on Sentinel themselves.

-They put up a great fight against him, until they slipped up their timing, Sentinel using Orion's axe to lop of Megatronus' right arm.

-As Megatronus fell to the ground, Sentinel used this opportunity to lay a beating into Orion that left him close to death, before Sentinel could use his prototype arm weapon, The Fusion Cannon, Megatronus would repay Sentinel's favor and take his arm using Orion's axe. Mustering up all his remaining energy Orion took Megatronus' old drill and bored a hole straight through Sentinel's chest destroying his spark, ending this war.

-As Orion stumbled over, Megatronus held his friend with his remaining arm and waited for the rest of group so they could help carry the gravely injured Orion.

Betrayals

-Orion's body was gravely damaged in the fight, left barely able to walk, he's now always accompanied by Ratchet and Megatronus.

-Both Senators Quietus and Shockwave pay the friends a visit, wanting them to speak to the cybertronian council and so they can lead together.

-As both stood before the entire senate, Megatronus began to speak, his words falling on deaf ears to the shock of the other 3 group members, they all realize the same thing the senate invited them to be their figure heads and abandon their work.

-Megatronus stormed out and Orion began to speak to the council they then try to extended a false olive branch as to appease the enraged and sickly bot, his only response was a plain fuck you.

-As he leaves Shockwave tried to follow but was immediately shot by Quietus, his fate unknown to us….for now. The eyes of the other Senate members glowing purple like Quietus'.

-This instance would drive a hole between the friends, ultimately resulting in the following events.

The Roots Dig In

-Orion's recovery has been arduous but he can easily walk on his own with a cane.

-He hasn't seen Megatronus since that day, always wondering what his friend is up to, and if he's okay.

-Megatronus' ideals had been made a mockery in front of a man who almost died for said ideals and dreams, he has learned that the system is unwilling to change and that it has to be replaced, by any means necessary.

-Behind the scenes Megatronus has revived the rise and the ascenticons as a terrorist cell, in a desperate attempt to prevent the rise of another senate and corrupt government.

-He has abandoned the bot he once was, buried him along with his name, he will henceforth be known as Megatron.

-But he has one more thing tied to his old life he must bury in the past

-For the first time in 5 years, equivalent time, Orion and Megatron reunite, but this reunion was one to end the ties that bound them as friends.

-Orion pleads with Megatron to not do anything rash, and to not throw away all of what they fought to achieve.

-Megatron disappears into a crowd, Orion struggling to chase after him, stumbling and losing him.

-Orion would go back to doing social work to the best of his ability, Megatron hasn't been seen in public since that day.

-Roller would takeover the construction guild, multiple constructicons would start to go missing.

-One day explosions suddenly wracked the cities, multiple senate offices blown sky high.

-Orion scrambled to lead rescue operations and delegate medical outposts, until he received an emergency distress from Roller at the docks, going to his brother's aid he rushed down to see the place swamped with injured, he got to work alongside medics.

-He then heard a familiar voice behind him, it was Megatron, they talked then Orion asked the burning question, if he was responsible for this, he said not a word, the fury and betrayal in Orion's eyes could burn a star, Megatron then transformed into a crude fighter jet, it was there that Orion knew, that Megatronus was truly dead and was buried that day in the senate, as tears formed in his eyes, he wasn't allowed the moment of mourning as he had to inform everyone of the grave news.

-Days would go by and rescue crews were overwhelmed by the frequency of these attacks, when things started to die down, then the rescue department was targetted for an attack, Orion was in his office with roller when the explosion nearly claimed their lives, the brothers gravely injured.

-Megatron wasn't responsible for this attack, Quietus had been pulling the strings for a few bombings, this one being his handywork.

-Megatron had him imprisoned to deal with later.

-When the brothers powered back on in the medical bay they would learn of Megatron's defacto rule of Iacon.

-Then a transmission would start playing of Megatron, announcing that he's dissolving the ascenticons, to form The Decepticon movement effective immediately.

-Orion knew this was a sign of the end.

-Alpha Trion would enter the brothers' room, the wise old robot would offer them council, and a propositon, their bodies were absolutely ruined, but Alpha Trion would reveal to them a project that had been worked on in secret, co-developed with the medical and science coalition, the brothers would be rebuilt into new bodies.

-That day Orion and Roller were transported and rebuilt into, Optimus and Optronix.

-For the first time in years Optimus could walk on his own without help.

-Optimus would take a walk back to Rescue Headquarters, finding a tattered banner of the Robots For Autonomy movement, ripped to shreds, the only words surviving being 'bots' and 'auto'.

-Optimus would relay all currently able bodied party members to form a commity for something important.

-Optimus would form the The Autobots with it's inaugural members being Ratchet, Optronix, Ironhide, Jazz and Deep Cover.

-The newly formed autobots had one goal and it was to stop the decepticons' assaault on cybertronian cities.

With this we end off a now mythical past to a bloodied one that's been storied hundreds of times.

deep into season 2 of G1 Transformers. miscellaneous thoughts:

my favorites thus far are Starscream, Bumblebee, Jazz, Mirage, Beachcomber, and most surprisingly, Rumble

he simply delights me

Jazz gets better with every appearance and I'm delighted he gets focus even after a ton of new characters are introduced

literally who liked the original S1 Transformers theme enough for it to become iconic and even bring it back

the singing is off-tune, the song is missing a line to space it out well, and everyone rushes like they spent too long on a lyric or ran out of breath but the music follows them which means someone intentionally wrote it like this and they should answer for their crimes against the concept of sound

this show literally invents new animation errors on the fly

my mom was born in 1974 so she grew up with G1 and she told me this was all they had in a slot on Saturdays so I'm convinced this show just tricked kids into liking it via Stockholm syndrome

it almost got Sage

but I saved them

but the S2 theme slaps and I vogue to it

I would like it if Warpath shut up forever

I also would like it if Seaspray shut up forever

this show feels like they have characters and several episodes after their first appearance, only then decide on what their personality trait and voice is (Skywarp and Thundercracker)

sometimes they do it even after they decide what their Thing is (Warpath)

I would like it if Huffer shut up forever

he literally has nothing good to say ever. except those two or three episodes where he was weirdly chipper for no reason

you know everyone talks about that episode where Megatron removes Lincoln from his monument and sits on his chair but no one ever mentions this is the episode where they discover Atlantis, the telepathic frog-fish-reptile Atlanteans form an alliance with the Decepticons, it rises to the surface and they fucking invade Washington DC

Synopsis: Since returning to Cybertron, Megatron and his motley group of rebellious miners have made new lives for themselves as gladiators, competing in the illegal pit fights that take place in the Forge, deep in the bowels of crime-ridden Kaon. In his very first match, Megatron finds himself up against a particularly durable foe, who shrugs off Megatron's initial attempts to impale him. He has the upper hand until Megatron uses his alternate mode as a weapon, harnessing its weight and mass to crush his opponent and run him over. As the other gladiator lies helpless on the floor, Megatron seems ready to end the fight, much to the confusion of the audience watching… until Clench, the ringmaster of these games, orders Megatron to finish the fight by killing him. Though briefly haunted by his memory of taking his first life back on Mining Outpost C-12, Megatron grabs the other gladiator's spear and uses it to fatally stab him, basking in the adulation of the crowd.

Meanwhile, Senator Ratbat dismisses the concerns of his meager assistant to attend to more important matters. A thoroughly corrupt member of the Cybertronian Senate, Ratbat lives on the upper echelons of society, and uses his wealth and connections to easily manipulate planetary events for his personal gain. During his latest session, however, Ratbat is intrigued by a report on the illegal gladiator games sweeping Cybertron, and sends his servant to investigate…

As the days pass, Megatron swiftly rises through the ranks of the bloodsports and eventually finds himself fighting alongside Clench. In one such match, Clench's team is up against the wall, giving Megatron the perfect opportunity to take advantage of Clench's momentary distraction to fatally stab the gladiatorial leader and take over.

The coup doesn't go unnoticed by Cybertronian law enforcement, who are increasingly worried about the rise of these illegal fights, the increasing prominence of Megatron's team, and their inability to find the arenas where these illicit activities take place. At Kaon's Security Services Headquarters, Prowl shows footage of the battle to his team, who are eager to put a stop to the unlawful violence—a sentiment shared by Sentinel Prime, who arrives and announces his plan to nail the gladiators in a wide-ranging police operation: a plan that will require the assistance of every Autobot officer in Kaon.

Eighteen cycles later, Cybertronian Security officers Bumper and Fastback stake out a location suspected to be the grounds for the next game. Bored with the work, their patience is rewarded when the Constructicons arrive: the gladiators aren't shipping parts to set up their mobile arenas, they're building them on-site… using parts obtained from hapless vagrants like Wheezel, who finds himself thrown into a smelting pool, his metal melted down to become the rivets and plates required to refit the abandoned venue into a suitable arena. No sooner have they finished then Soundwave turns up—a new convert to the cause who, on the behalf of his employer, offers the recently arrived Megatron an array of black market weaponry, provided that Megatron uses them as he "sees fit."

The two Autobots witness this exchange, but aren't so lucky when Megatron realizes that he's being eavesdropped on. Though the Autobots try to call for backup, they're immediately ambushed and incapacitated by Soundwave's partners: Ravage, Laserbeak, and Buzzsaw.

Bumper awakens to see Megatron stomping Fastback flat, before the gladiatorial leader turns his attention to Bumper. Bumper refuses to give in to Megatron's interrogation, and so Soundwave deploys Laserbeak—a "specialist"—to pry the necessary data from Bumper's mind. Realizing that they've been compromised, Megatron realizes that he'll have to scuttle the arena. Pleased with Soundwave's services, however, he agrees to do business with Soundwave's master… and then ties up the last loose end by crushing Bumper to death.
