Christmas Date (ft. Jieun)
The christmas spirit was high in Seoul. Streets were covered in white; snow was actually still slowly descending from the skies above. Minsoo can’t help but to smile as he glances up the dashboard of his car. The rapper had halted his driving under the red light order, music from the station he works in, blaring a remixed version of some christmas carols.
It’s that time of the year again, Christmas Time!
Singing along, he quickly shifts the gear before stepping on the gas, the i8′s smooth engine rawring as he zig-zag through the icy streets. It doesn’t take long before arriving at the familiar apartment building, that he’d actually just left from the night before. Stopping by the lobby entrance, he pulls out his phone texting Jieun to hurry along.
[sms to PeasantBae] Ice skating time!  [sms to PeasantBae] Let’s go!

ice troubles | osh&dks
Sehun clings close to the wall, trying to keep himself upright as he threads through the slight crowd going their merry way on the slippery ice floor. He wasn’t sure how or why he had forgotten that he didn’t know how to skate, but it probably had something to do with how excited he had been the moment he saw the rink. He had whined to Kyungsoo about wanting to go, not stopping until the older had agreed to go with him after a long, defeated sigh, already used to his stubbornness. Kyungsoo should have stopped him he thinks, it would have saved them the embarrassment that they were in at the moment. Maybe he should have just stuck with watching the cute kids singing Christmas carols.
“They make it look so easy,” he grumbles, a pout evident on his lips as he trails behind Kyungsoo, his eyes focused on his steps. “They make this look so fun. This doesn’t feel very fun,” he sighs before he thinks to hell with it and takes long strides, successfully peeling himself away from the wall and looked like he’s skating properly for what felt like seconds before he slips and falls flat on his butt, his hands flailing around as he fell.
Sehun laughs despite the wet patch on his ass and the sting on his palm as he crawls his way back to the safety of the wall. His ears are red, embarrassed of the way he thinks he had looked. “Okay, I take it back. That is fun,” he grins.

Walking on Thin Ice || Minji & Ji & Kyu
There was nothing, absolutely nothing Jiyong was convinced, that could have wiped the smile off his face the day he and Minji went to the ice rink in the town square. It was beautiful; lights and decorations strung up everywhere, Minji laughing and playing with him as they boh struggled to remain upright on the ice. Their hands and arms were clamped together, holding each other up as best they could, but it was pretty useless since neither one of them could stop slipping and falling. Thankfully though, they kept falling on top of each other, which was only making Jiyong even happier. "Ahh!!" he cried, slipping onto his knees once again, bringing her down with him for the nth time. "Okay you know what, I'm sure I'm better at this than right now okay, this is not my fault!" He laughed and struggled to get up again. "I think I just need better shoes okay. I'm gonna go grab some. Wait right here, I'll be right back." He looked ridiculous, but he had to half-crawl back towards the stand where they were loaning out shoes, to get a different size.

pretty little snowflake.
It was cold outside. Colder than Hansol remembered it being the year before. Strangely Seoul got a lot colder than Manchester had been. He’d thought England was colder than most other places, but it seemed not. He liked the cold to a certain extent, though he didn’t much like the fact that he got fawned over every time he left his house by old ladies who told him how adorable he looked all bundled up in a scarf and hat and puffy coat. These huge eyes and pouty lips would be the death of him for sure. He’d even been referred to as a girl once - never again would he wear a pink hoodie with the hood up and fitted track pants
Hansol had heard about the ice rink, and Christmas themed market and huge tree from colleagues recently and had decided he’d like to go - he was a sucker for Christmas and all the festivities, but he’d never admit aloud to it. He’d wondered who to go with at first, as he didn’t have a very extended friends list. Though during a dance practise, conversing with Byungjoo, he’d found the other had already been to the ice rink, but hadn’t been around the market yet - perfect.
There weren’t many people Hansol was able to be close with, but Byungjoo was one of the few people he could endure. He found the more he was around him the more he wanted to stay around him - he was fun, there was no denying it, and Hansol was lacking fun in his life. It hadn’t taken a lot of persuasion to get Byungjoo to accompany him to the market, much to Hansol’s thanks - he didn’t want to seem too eager to go with the younger.
But here they were, stepping off the bus at the side of the road, snow gently falling from the dark sky above - he’d decided the evening would be nicer, since they could bundle up more and enjoy the fairy lights in the darkness and drink hot coco.
“Hey, Joo-” Hansol’s head turned to peer at the younger, before he noted how the snowflakes were falling into his hair and eyelashes, an unconscious smile growing on Hansol’s lips for a second before he continued to speak, “Where do you wanna go first?”

winter wonderland
@rktaehyng
( despite being bundled in layers of clothing, the seoul winter air combined with the cold of the rink froze her fingers. despite this, taehyung’s presence beside her warmed her down; their linked fingers making the cold bearable. it also helped her stand upright as she walked down the dry aisle beside the rink, feet wobbly and steps unbalanced with her skating shoes. ) are you good with skating? ( she questioned, curiosity written all over her features. while she does know her balance, joy was never the most skilled with skating. chances are, they would be a mess of limbs and wet clothing by the end of their time inside the ice skating rink. hands immediately sought out the railing of the rink once they were close enough, laughters on her lips over the prospect of how silly she must have looked like. ) i’m kinda scared. ( sooyoung confessed, hand reaching out for him before stepping inside the slippery circle. )

𝒾𝒸𝑒 𝒾𝒸𝑒 𝒷𝒶𝒷𝓎
@rksxngji
he hated ice. he hated it with a passion - but he adored his cousin.
byungjoo had absolutely told jieun about how his audition went and how he felt so excited and nervous afterwards; and she offered to treat him to hot coco, in exchange for a trip to the ice rank. of course, byungjoo had to agree because hot coco was hot coco and also jieun was someone that he cared about dearly so he wouldn’t deny such a simple request.
though it wasn’t that simple.
byungjoo loved to do things that involved working his feet and legs but for some reason ice skating just didn’t work for him, he’d always fall on his ass or trip over something and the shoe’s were just too heavy. he knew the evening would be a bit tormenting but he would manage for his cousin.
oh the things he did for family.
he dressed in a pair of dark jeans and boots; along with a long gray scarf and a pea coat; dark brown, that his auntie had gotten him for an early christmas present. he added ear muffs and mittens to the mix because yes, byungjoo disliked the cold that much.
“you know i love you right.” he mumbled towards the elder women as he gazed upon the ice rank.
“otherwise i wouldn’t be here.”

Confusing Christmas || Seulgi & Mingyu
@rkmingyu
Standing outside in the cool winter air, Seulgi was wondering just what it was she was doing there.  Well, she knew what she was doing, she was going on a date. Why she was going on the date, that was what was actually in question.  Mingyu was a frustration to Seulgi, a mystery that she couldn’t solve, the Moriarty to her Holmes, and there was nothing that frustrated her more than the fact that she could not figure out what his intentions were with her.  She felt that she was being played, yet, she couldn’t keep herself from going along with it.
Maybe a piece of her hoped she wasn’t. No, that couldn’t be it...
As she shook that thought out of her head, she glanced at the time on her cell phone, knowing he was supposed to show up to pick her up in front of her building and they were going to head to the Winter Carnival for some cocoa and skating.  She looked down at her outfit again, hoping it was cute enough.  Not for him of course, no, of course not, but for maybe some other guy or girl that happened to see her there.  Definitely not for Mingyu.

icy xmas.
( seulgirk )
hailey stands in front of the christmas tree which marks the entrance to the festival, warm cups on her hands and jaw trembling, teeth clashing together. it was already late and hailey forgot to pack an extra layer, failing to predict the cold breeze that was blowing on her face. she wishes her company for the night could make it soon, so she could finally warm herself with one of the drink she has in hands. her face is partially hidden by the scarf she’s wearing and her chin is buried on the soft fabric. she would usually stay at royal in a day like this, but she needed a distraction aside the crazy training she’s been on lately.
the trainee offered to treat a girl and she loved the idea of the festival, so hailey just assumed it was the perfect opportunity. seulgi, as she came to know, rescued her cat from the cold streets one night and gave him back to hailey in safety. therefore, hailey can possibly never stop thanking her - and such a good feat must be rewarded. so she called the other female a few days ago and they decided to meet. the older has been spending so many extra time in royal - for no reason since she’s not participating in the gayos - that she saw no problem in cutting her instrument classes for the day.
she is about to try to look at her clock - and consequently spill one of the drinks on herself - when hailey sees seulgi coming. “here!” she cries, holding up her drinks and swallowing her cold. “i’m so glad you could make it!” hailey says, a bright smile on her face. “i didn’t know if you’d prefer coffee or hot chocolate, then i got both!” she pushes the cups towards the younger. “i’ll have the second choice”

for the holiday.
woohyun tries. he really, really does. his attention is so focused, twirling the blunt needles around carefully. he’s struggling though—it’s not hard to tell. from the grumbles leaving his lips every moment or so, exhaling sharply through his nose as he attempts to get it just right.
“what is that? are you making a sock?”
pausing in the knitting, his head tilts up, blinking at the man sitting next to him. he’s much younger that woohyun, perhaps in his teens, and at the words being spoken, once they’ve settled in his brain, the older squints. his head tilts down to the cloth in his hands, making sure it looks like what he’s supposed to be making, before returning his attention to the teen. “…it’s a scarf.”
“sure doesn’t look like it.” he snorts, causing woohyun to frown as he watches the kid glue wooden boards together; a birdhouse, how cute. “it looks like a sock.”
you said that already. woohyun grumbles mentally, shutting his eyes as he lets out a breath escape. shaking his head, he continues twirling the strings around, knotting them together like he remembers his mother teaching him. he lifts his head when another worker comes in, offering a wide smile and a bright greeting before he’s returning back to his knitting. his fingers work at it quickly, though the more he looks at it—the less it looks like a scarf. not exactly a sock, but not a scarf. damn it.
glancing up at the teen, he swallows, adjusting himself in his seat as he watches the male begin to add minor details to the face to his house. “uh. excuse me—when you get a chance, do you mind helping me out? do you know how to knit?”
the teen pauses, looking up at woohyun with a strange look. he blinks once, twice, then snorts as if realizing what the question had entailed. he turns his nose up to him, returning back to fixing up his bird contraption. “pft. no can do. i don’t knit. boys don’t knit. that’s why I’m building this.”
woohyun has half the mind to call him a brat, but instead, a strangled “thanks anyway,” leaves his lips, and he stares down at the mess of cloth in his hands. ( there goes the idea of giving mijoo a scarf for Christmas. )

it’s the most wonderful time of the year ;
rkskating — winter festival activities
he’d been frequenting the winter festival in his free time. after preparing his best friends’ christmas gifts and the main rush of the season over, it came down to having a lot of free time after school finished for the holidays; so the best solution to his boredom, of course, was to head over to the festival he’d first visited with jeonghan.
last time he’d come alone to the festival, he’d ended up bumping into someone, making a new friend, so today he doesn’t exactly hold up hopes of meeting another new friend, but at least prepares himself for what may ensue, and instead of getting lost in the sparkling baubles and the beauty of the tree, he watches where he’s going, stays aware of his surroundings. his nose twitches as he wanders past food stalls, and considering he’d made a little money from relatives on christmas day, he can afford to treat himself to a few tasty snacks before the festival ends for another year.
he’s chewing on something chocolatey (honestly it just looked good, so he bought it, he’s not entirely sure what he’s eating) when he pauses and looks back at the charity stall he’d just passed. he doesn’t have the charisma, the people skills, to pick up a job temporarily as a salesman (he’s a natural in the store, but that’s music, that’s his passion. sadly, he’s not quite as passionate about christmas gifts), but he does have the money to donate, and he browses the gifts, now a little late for christmas, mind, but the thought is still there.
there’s a sweet christmas bauble that catches his eye. it would hang pride and place on their family tree, decorated with a clean colour scheme of whites and silvers thanks to his mother. the bauble is clear, not glass, but close enough. in the centre of the sphere, is a brilliant white figure of a reindeer sat atop a field of snow, it’s head high and antlers majestic. decorating the inside of the bauble’s shell itself, is a pattern of snow falling down onto the ground around the reindeer’s feet.
it’s perfect, and it’s so his mother’s taste, that the minute he picks it up, he’s digging into his pocket to pay, insisting they keep the change and wrapping it up carefully so it doesn’t get damaged on the way home.
pleased with himself and his last minute buy, and ready to say goodbye to the festival one last time for another year, he leaves with a smile, tucking his scarf up above his nose to fight away the cold and making his way home.
(when he arrives back, he presents his mother with the gift. she makes some unintelligible noises and promptly hangs it on the tree and plants a big kiss on his forehead. he gets the impression she likes it very much.)

Christmas Stars (ft. Gary)
Earlier that week he had gone ice skating with Jieun in the very same spot. A few days later, the ice skating rink and christmas stalls were filled with visitors from every part of Seoul and some more. The Christmas spirit has definitely possessed more then it’s fair share people this year.
With that said, unlike a the time he went ice skating with his little miss, Minsoo stood behind one of the stalls. At the back precisely. Usually he wasn’t big on the whole charity work deal, in fact for him labour should be paid; preferable with cash. But alas, after getting signed with Royals and somewhat finally finding structure in his life, Minsoo thought he should at least give back to society one way or the other.
After smiling at the owner of the stall he was currently volunteering in. The old man had asked him to help out some of the other volunteers with creating hand made christmas stars. The influx of customers and holiday shoppers was beyond that everyone anticipated, resulting of making more products on the actual spot.
Minsoo quickly agrees, before joining his fellow volunteers by a large table filled with artsy tools. Nodding politely at them, he recognises a certain individual of the corner end of the table. His smile turning into an excited grin, he ventures off towards the said end.
“Hey hyung~ Didn’t expect to see you here.”

broken christmas lights.
[ EVENT ] - CHRISTMAS EVENT - CITY HALL FESTIVAL POWERUP - [ + 2 CHR ]
changjo walks aimlessly, wandering around the festival without much direction. he does this a lot, likes to get lost in unfamiliar crowds. he’s always been a stranger, everywhere he’s ever been. parts of him prefer it this way, right when it’s a little too much and not enough. money weighs heavily in his pocket, his wallet plays an anchor. he doesn’t quite understand why he even bothered bringing his wallet with him. what? was he going to buy a gift? and give it to who?
what a joke.
he sighs, lifting a hand to run through his hair as he struggles with seeing the bright sides of things only to come up with a blank. he curses himself internally for not making the wiser decision to buy gloves or to dress warmer for the weather. he’s freezing, and he feels like he might literally freeze to death before spotting a market stall selling hot chocolate as he graciously buys some. he thanks the owner, giving a nice tip, before continuing to walk around. the more he walks around, the lonelier he feels, but at least the lonely is better than the freezing. it gives him something else to think about.
he finds himself wandering for practically an hour at any point. at one time, he spots a kid wanting to buy something, and changjo vaguely remembers offering to buy it for the boy as he paid the stall manager and handed the gift (of whatever it was) to the boy before walking off.
changjo really doesn’t know how much longer he walks after that, just making rounds without really caring where he’s going. he bumps into people and apologises immediately, it’s to be expected when he really doesn’t have any specific direction. he’s just… walking. he spots a market stall, one that catches his eye - which isn’t hard when it’s bright without being obnoxious and a little quaint. he finds himself walking over, the stall selling snow globes.
he spots one that sticks out to him, letting out a soft huff of laughter. it’s just a christmas tree one with little gingerbread people, but it’s perfect. if his eyes glaze over just barely, he doesn’t say anything, instead: he purchases the tiny snow globe, and they place it in a tiny gift bag and it’s a little overwhelming, but he doesn’t say that: instead he thanks the lady before leaving. the heaviness in his chest is gone as he makes his way home, through the crowds of people.
his home is an apartment, a tiny too small apartment that is just barely big enough for him and his mom. he chucks his house keys on the kitchen counter, throwing his past empty paper cup that once was filled with hot chocolate as he grabs a water bottle and drinks some of it to get the sugary, thick taste of chocolate out of his mouth. he swallows dryly before placing the bag near a tiny plastic christmas tree on the coffee table.
“merry christmas to me,” he sighs out before plopping down on the couch, flipping through channels trying to get the day over with.
if his gaze flickers to the tiny decorated bag more than once in the next hour, oh well.

And Then It Ended || Solo
Well Christmas was fun for about two seconds. Jiyong huddled deep into his oversized coat, his scarf wrapping around his neck and face, keeping him warm but also grossly humid. He walked through the park slowly, each step carrying a thousand thoughts, a thousand memories-- all of them screaming and crying to be forgotten. What he wouldn't do for some soju or whiskey right now.
Christmas night, the world lit up in smiles and music, the town square park covered in rides and games and food stands, all set up next to the ice rink. He'd been here earlier this week, with Minji, which had turned into a perfect disaster, but honestly tonight had been worse. At least he hadn't gotten yelled at or hit that other night. He wasn't even hungry anymore, strolling right past the cooking food.
He wandered over to a particularly large tree and sat down on it's roots, curling up into ball for a moment before getting out some cigarettes. He lit one up like it was the last thing he'd ever do and shut his eyes as he breathed the smoke in. Fuck. It had been such a long day and everything had been fine until he'd gone to see his mother. Wasn't that always the way things happened though? Nah, sometimes he managed to get out of that trailer without the screaming or the violence. If he ever lived long enough to have kids, he promised himself he'd rather cut his arms off than hit one of them.
He swallowed down the tears, blinking them away (the damn useless things) and cleared his throat as he watched the skaters play on the ice. How sweet. He felt unreasonable hatred for them all.

.dragon’s breath
The tree was about as tall as five or six of Hansol, and multiple sumo-wrestlers wide. Decorated with handmade, beautiful ornaments and lights which had yet to be lit, presents placed underneath behind a tiny fairy-lit fence. It was beautiful, but Hansol was disappointed at the fact he was witnessing the lighting of the tree alone. Though he didn’t have a lot of friends, he’d hoped one of the few he did have would be free to accompany him.
Everyone was busy.
So he’d decided that instead of not going at all, he’d go alone. Doing things alone wasn’t unusual for Hansol - he did a lot of things alone, though recently he’d been trying harder to make friends with people, realising that always being alone wasn’t entirely enjoyable. Sure it was hard to break out of his shell and open up to people and trust them enough to befriend them was hard, and he was still working on it, but he knew he’d improve if he kept at it.
Rubbing his gloved hands together he crossed his arms over his chest and walked slowly, tracking the circumference of the circle, eyes cast high to the sky. He took a moment to note how his breath came out in little foggy clouds. He used to love that part of cold weather; how people became dragons. He liked to think of it as dragon’s breath. Pretending he was a dragon in the winter time had been a game of Hansol’s when he was younger. It reminded him of the time he still lived at home with his family and had time to play with his siblings.
But as he walked his eyes stayed trained up at the tree-
That was until he bumped into a body and stumbled backward slightly. With a hurried reply Hansol dropped his gaze, before noting just who he’d bumped into. A smile spread over his lips before he’d realised it, “Seungyoun!”

this christmas market truly is a lifesaver. ( joy spoke, a puff of smoke coming out of her mouth as she does so. arm-in-arm, she and yeri made their way towards the market both with the same agenda of buying their parents last minute gifts before the items were to be shipped off. what with her busy schedule, joy failed to realize that the gifts she got for them still lacked some local korean items she was positive they would love. only now did the mistake registered -- a day before they were scheduled to send their gifts to the shipping carrier. so much for being the best daughter. ) mama complained over the phone last month of how she completely forgot buying korean silverware while they were here. i think that’s what i’ll get her. what about you though? what are you getting auntie for?

Bodyheat Snowqueen// Gary & Jaebum
There were many stalls behind the ice skating rink, they were affectionately decorated. Bright colors and lights showed the ways to Christmas food, Christmas ornaments or singing stalls. People from all over had come to see the Winter festival. And Gary was right in the middle of the whole mass.
The atmosphere was good, he liked the scent of baked apples and cinnamon. Candle lights flickered in the light breeze and his cheeks turned red because of the cold. But he kinda liked it. This time he had his scarf with him, a grey one, knitted by his mother.
His steps lead him past the ice skating. He didn’t felt like tripping and sliding alone. This time he wanted to enjoy the food and the shopping stalls. It was possible to find something to give it to a special someone. Children laughed and run around, looking at the comfy, little huts. A smile hushed across his face as he recognized a new stall.
The sales associates were calling out for young men to participate in a special event. They wanted them to compete against each other in ice sculpture forming. With their performance and the end result of their forming they would earn money that could be donated for STD/AIDS fondation. Christmas time was a time that showed who was alone and who was not. Those who had enough to live would be aware how lucky they really are. Gary knew both sides of life. Poverty and the ability to afford everything necessary. He wanted to be part of the fondation, so he offered his help.
“Sure, sir. Please come around and we will explain you the rules.” The friendly sale associate gave him a smile and gave him special gloves. “Your highest priority is to form a beautiful ice sculpture. The only rules are: No use of tools. Only use your body heat. The one who gets the most votes from the publicum is the winner.”
