âHey magic boy!â
Summary: local hot magic boy trying to meditate with these two goofballs around him.
Genre: fluff, Drabble
Pair: Birdflash x Raven! M!reader
Note| words like âY/Nâ isnât mentioned, either is âreaderâ.

âAzarath Metrion ZinthosâŚâ a male said in a blue cloak. His eye closed, levitating and having his legs crossed as well. His hands were on his knees. Meditation set the young dark sorcerer to a peaceful mind place.ďżźwell his mindful state was soon ruined, when a certain speedster was by him. âHey, hot magic boy. What you doin?â Wally says, the dark sorcerer scrunched up his face. Not bothering to even look at the red head. âWally. Not now.â
âOkayâŚwhen can we cuddle?â The half demon male opened his eyes, his purple looking eyes staring at the green ones. âWhen Iâm done meditating, but I canât get that done when youâre trying to talk to me.â Wally pouts, soon Robin came in. Robin raised a brow seeing Wally basically pouting. âLet me guess, he rejected you?â Robin started to chuckle. Wally then goes to talk back to the boy wonder. The male in the blue cloak was done with the noise and teleported away
But the day did end on a good note, with Robin and Wally cuddling the half demon boy in his room. They knew the magic user needed time alone, so they granted the Raven his peace.
It was a new day, a new meditation session. Sadly this Raven didnât enough patience for today. Wally speeded inside of the boyâs room. Smiling and ready to yap the meditating maleâs ears off. âAzarath Metrion ZinthosâŚ.â The male says humming. âBabe. You wonât believe what Robin did.â Robin on cue came in, out of his hero costume just like Wally. âDONT believe a word he says!â Wally smirked. âOh but I have a lot to say.â A tick mark appeared on the ravenâs head. He couldnât meditate, he tried to hold back his anger. But he couldnât as his eyes glowed red.
âOUT!â The male says, his voice sounding demonic and using his telekinesis to kick the two boys out. âWait a minuteââ Wally pauses seeing those two red demon eyes stare at him back. âNo!â And the door was slammed shut in front of the two boys.
âWelp. He seems whelmed.â âDude shut up.â

excuse me but dick's siblings can not read him better than the original teen titans. his siblings might read his body language better (especially cass) but they won't recognize- can't recognize dick's expressions like donna, garth, wally and roy can.
there's no way. the fab five have known dick for an insanely long amount of time, and perhaps the only other person is barbara.
like i know you guys love your sibling relationships, but like seriously? the fab five have known each other for an insanely long amount of time there's no need to pretend that they wouldn't understand dick like he's part of their own soul. because they would. you don't go through so much with some people and not know each other like they're parts of you. because at that point, they are.

Young Justice is thrown headfirst into a world where the Justice League doesn't exist, the only heroes being those known as the Avengers. While investigating the strange portal that brought them there, they come across the Avengers who are not always so friendly. Will the heroes get over their animosity and work together to get Young Justice home? Or will they block the way of the young heroes, dooming them to forever be trapped in an unfamiliar world?
Chapter 1: Collisions and Conversations
"10 minutes till we arrive at the cave."Â M'gann's cheerful voice sounded through the mind link. "You know it, beautiful."Â Wally fiddled with his newest souvenir as he replied, his comment earning him a fond smack on the arm from Artemis and an amused look from Conner. Dick and Kaldur simply huffed in amusement. Zatanna enjoyed the sight of her relaxed teammates, laughing under her breath at their antics.
"So⌠the mission went well, didn't it? We killed it out there!" Wally said, placing his crossed legs atop the raised platform as he put his hands behind his head.
"If by 'killed it' you mean we caused millions of dollars worth of property damage while apprehending our target? Then yes, we killed it." Kaldur answered calmly, his eyes shining in good humor. Wally pouted at the laughter that received before letting out a chuckle himself.
"True, we did cause a lot of damage because of a certain someone." Artemis added while leaning on her armchair, looking at Wally not so discreetly.
"It's not my fault! If you hadn't iced the floor, I wouldn't have bumped into the detonator and none of the bombs would have exploded!"
"Keep telling yourself that, Wally." Artemis said lightly, feigning interest in her nails.
"Let's be grateful no civilians were injured. Plus, we caught our target, so mission success!" Dick stated with a crooked grin, satisfaction pouring off him.
"I doubt you would be saying that if you had to report it to Batman." Conner said bluntly, a faint smile on his lips. Dick gave him a sheepish laugh. M'gann quietly agreed. There were reasons she wasn't the leader, and that could be counted as one of them.
"I certainly wouldn't want to be on the other side of Batman while reporting this mission. The others? Not so much." Zatanna folded her legs, leaning back on her seat as she turned to look out the bio-ship. Her expression dropped in surprise, "M'gann! Look out!"
M'gann's focus snapped back to flying the bio-ship, jerking her to the side and dislodging her teammates from their seats. Confusion and alarm permeated the area, her teammates gathering their bearings as they prepared for battle.
"M'gann, what happened?"Â Kaldur asked, his tone becoming harder. She could feel his worry in the back of her mind but dismissed it, her attention focused on steering the bio-ship away from the sparking blue portal that suddenly appeared in their path.
"I cantâ" M'gann grunted, urging the bio-ship to reverse. The bio-ship rumbled, conveying the fact that she couldn't turn around, the suction was too great. They were slowly being sucked into the portal, M'gann realized with dawning horror.
"I am so not feeling the aster." Dick stated, staring at the ever closer portal. Connor and Wally eyed the portal, their brains racing with ideas, some slipping unconsciously into the mindlink.
"Now is not the time for that! And you two, keep it quiet up there." Artemis shouted, clutching her extended bow tightly with one hand as she pointed at Wally and Conner. "We need to find a way toâ Ack!"
Kaldur tried to grab Artemis when she fell forward, but he clutched his head in pain and fell alongside her. A disorienting feeling passed through their linked minds, thoughts and feelings melded together as a strange sensation clawed its way through them. The passage into the strange portal was rough, the bio-ship lurching at random didn't help.
M'gann's eyes widened in alarm as her teammates dropped in front of her, the pain between her brows growing steadily. She blinked rapidly trying to stay conscious, absentmindedly noting the bio-ship having the same reaction as the rest of them.
She snapped the mindlink, easing the painful feedback from her friends' minds and shielding them from the portal's assault. M'gann groaned from the focused psychic blast she siphoned from her teammates but she persevered, determined to stay conscious long enough to land the bio-ship relatively safely.
The bio-ship was spat out, hurtling through the sky at an alarming speed. M'gann coaxed the disoriented bio-ship to slow down, blinking dark spots from her eyes. The bio-ship shuddered, shaking off her dazed state to descend carefully at the beckoning of her bonded. The bio-ship skidded against the soft earth, uprooting trees and dirt. She finally slowed to a stop, surrounded by a destroyed field.
M'gann laid her head on the headrest, taking a moment to rest, her headache easing up from the departure of the portal. Thankfully, the bio-ship wasn't very hurt, just a few scrapes and scratches here and there.
Her teammates roused with groans, Kaldur waking first. He shook his head as he stood up unsteadily. M'gann rushed over, helping him up, "How are you feeling?"
"I just need a moment, I'll be fine." Kaldur said, giving M'gann a faint smile of reassurance. M'gann nodded, moving on to Zatanna and Artemis who awoke soon after. Zatanna muttered a simple spell that straightened out her clothes while Artemis collected her fallen arrows. She was thanked when she helped with the arrows before being pointed to the three unconscious boys.
M'gann put her hands to her temples, gently coaxing her last three teammates to consciousness. Zatanna and Kaldur spoke quietly, concern wafting off them in waves when Wally sprung upright, his eyes wide open. "What was that?!" He asked, turning to M'gann.
She shook her head, grabbing Conner's arm and steadying him. Dick sat crossed legged, tapping away at his gauntlet's holo computer. He frowned, curling over his wrist as he typed harder in agitation. Artemis laid a gentle hand on his shoulder and gave him a look. A chastened expression crossed Dick's face at the unworded admonishment. He straightened his back and restarted his search, "I've got bad news guys."
He captured everyone's attention, M'gann intervening to quickly state, "I'll link us up."
She gently grasped at their minds, engulfing them with her own as she'd done many times before. "Everyone online?"Â She asked. A chorus of affirmation sounded.
"I couldn't connect to any familiar satellites. And any search for the Justice League shows no results. Same for most major cities."Â Dick said. The bond was silent before it erupted into noise, a cacophony of questions assaulted the mindlink.
"Quiet! One at a time."Â Kaldur practically shouted. The mindlink quieted down, M'gann and her teammates sharing glances. Kaldur doesn't casually raise his voice unless they are in battle, but even then it was rare. Clearly, he was also grappling with the unpleasant news.
"Do we know where we are?"Â Zatanna asked, tugging on the loose threads of her vest. Dick quickly drew up a hologram globe, zooming in at his prompting.
"Long Island, New York."Â He answered.
"That's not too far off from the base." Conner stated, crossing his arms. M'gann glanced worriedly at him. Frustration oozed off of him alongside unease.
"True. Should we drop by? Check if the base is still standing in this world?" Artemis questioned. She shifted on her feet, resting her weight on either foot. Wally mimicked her unconsciously, paying rapt attention to the conversation. "In this world?"
"We clearly passed through a portal to another world, duh. Why else would some cities be wiped off the map? Or the Justice League not exist?"
"It is a good theory, however we need more evidence to be sure. We will check on the base, but we must be careful. There could be unseen enemies lying in wait." Kaldur said, "For now, we assess our surroundings and check to see if we landed in a secure location. Then, we will figure out how to return to our original world, if this isn't our world to begin with."
He relayed his instructions through the link. Wally zoomed away the moment the bio-ship opened, tossing "On it!"Â over his shoulder as he did.
"Well, there he goes." Artemis sighed, shoulding her quiver and re-extending her bow, stalking out after him. M'gann floated out of the bio-ship, instructing her to go into camouflage mode once everyone disembarked. They split ways, notifying each other whenever they found something interesting, which was rarely. It was usually a report of a startled animal or an unusual looking natural formation. They just landed in a regular forest, there was nothing special about it.
Just after Kaldur ordered them to return to the bio-ship, Conner chimed in tersely, "Aircraft approaching from the East. They don't sound very friendly."Â M'gann frowned and urged the others to regroup quickly. She would rather deal with the threat with her teammates than alone.
"ETA?"Â Dick asked. M'gann could imagine him pursing his lips like he always did when he asked that.
"10 minutes out. They'll be here soon."Â Conner replied. Suspicion colored his side of the link, Zatanna sending him a mental nudge to calm down in response.
M'gann arrived at the bio-ship first, flying there at top speed. Zatanna materialized with a burst of golden sparks as Wally blinked into existence beside her, a soft wind ruffling her hair. Artemis and Dick walked out the forestline while she fixed her hair. Artemis grabbed hold of Dick's cape and guided him over while he smirked at his holo computer. "These guys are good, but not good enough! I hacked into their mainframe and downloading their files now."
"Any trouble?"Â Zatanna questioned teasingly.
"Who do you think you're talking to? Of course I didn't!"Â Dick boasted, tacking on as an afterthought, "There was an attempt to counter hack but I shut that down quickly."
"Good work, Robin." Kaldur said, jogging over from behind them, Conner just a few steps behind him. "Be ready to engage, and stick to the shadows. They'll be here any minute."
"Got it." M'gann donned her hood, camouflaging herself as she flew into the trees. She felt her teammates do the same, each darting into a hiding spot.
Not even a minute later, the loud whirring of an aircraft sounded, rippling into existence. Five figures walked out of the aircraft, surveying their surroundings. M'gann examined them, one woman and four men. One was obviously an archer, similar to Artemis. He was fit and walked in step with the red-headed woman in a tight fitting suit. M'gann narrowed her eyes, that woman was dangerous, she could tell. Perhaps even on the same level as Sportsmaster.
The man in a simple suit and sunglasses exuded charisma, but her eyes were drawn to the large man with a strange hammer in his hand. He was dressed in unique armor, one she had never seen before. She sent the image to her teammates, questioning if any of them had seen clothing like that.
Wally did the equivalent of a wolf whistle in their mindlink at the sight of the red-headed woman, a barrage of annoyance from everyone but him permeated the bond before he hastily answered her inquiry. The answer was the same from all of them, that type of armor being unfamiliar to them.
"Any idea of who they are, Robin?"Â M'gann asked, keeping a close eye on the threats. She was too far away to hear anything but it was obvious they were looking for her team.
"And what they're saying? I can't hear anything from where I'm hiding."Â Wally interjected.
"Cross referencing the files I've downloaded with information on the web, it's safe to say that these are the so-called Avengers, a hero group."Â Dick answered.
"Avengers? What kind of name is that?"Â Artemis asked, bafflement coloring her tone.
"Who knows why they chose that name, but apparently, they're so far the only hero group in the world."Â Dick said, "They've done small missions here and there, but their introduction to the public was during an alien invasion."
"Any names?"Â Artemis asked.
"The red-head's Natasha Romanoff, codename Black Widow. Clint Barton, the one next to her, is Hawkeye. Both used to be assassins but were drafted into SHIELD, a shadow government agency. The one that looks like an American flag threw up all over him is Steve Rogers, Captain America. He was frozen in ice for decades and was recently defrosted. The one M'gann asked about is called Thor. The only information they have of him is that he is part of a long lived extraterrestrial race that call themselves Asgaridians."
"A shadow government."Â Conner remarked, unimpressed.
"Like, the gods vikings worshiped?"Â Wally said, confused sparking in the bond.
"As far as I can tell, yeah. The last one is called Tony Stark, billionaire named Iron Man. He controls armored suits he creates. There's one more Avenger but it doesn't seem like he came. Bruce Banner, turns into a giant green monster whenever he's angry. Huh, no wonder he didn't come. And⌠All their identities are public?! That's⌠unwise." Dick finished lamely.
"Thank you, Robin. Superboy, what do you hear?"Â Kaldur questioned. The strange group spread out to search the area, carrying small devices that they waved around occasionally. M'gann trained her senses on them, making sure not to lose them.
Conner replied after a couple of seconds, "They were talking about an energy spike earlier, in the ship. Said it was similar to the alien invasion Robin told us they faced."Â Agitation ran through him. "They were ordered to bring in whatever came throughâusâwith prejudice."
"Well that's not good."Â Zatanna shifted when an Avenger neared her area. She doubled down on her concealment spell, not willing to risk her teammates' safety.
"Would it be wise to try establishing contact?"Â M'gann wondered.
"I believe it would be if we at least attempted to do so. However, if it comes down to it, I believe we could best them in a fight."Â Kaldur projected, the confidence in his tone settled his teammates.
"Then we should do it soon, they're getting close to the bio-ship!"Â Artemis interjected urgently.
"Intercept them at the bio-ship, and make sure not to be seen. We don't want to tip our hand too soon."Â Kaldur announced, "Be on your best behavior. Making enemies out of this world's heroes is not the plan."
They quickly made their way to the bio-ship, avoiding this world's heroes along the way. M'gann paused when she flew over the one she asked about, Thor, thinking for a moment he saw her. She dismissed it when he looked around curiously, finally arriving at the bio-ship a moment later.
Her teammates organized themselves besides Kaldur, Zatanna giving her a quick nod before an Avenger appeared. The archer blinked at the sight of them, before he tapped the comm in his ear, signaling to his friends his findings.
"So, I'm presuming you're not from around here?" Artemis narrowed her eyes at Hawkeye's subtle attempt to grab an arrow from his quiver.
Kaldur stepped forward, "We are not. You are a hero of this world?"
"You could say that." Hawkeye replied, his grip deceptively loose on his bow. His eyes lingered on M'gann and Kaldur, the more obviously inhuman members. "Any chance you'll tell me why you're here?"
"Other heroes approaching."Â Conner stated, shifting his weight on his side.
"Stay sharp everyone. They're getting ready for a confrontation."Â M'gann announced, feeling her teammates subtly shift into battle positions. She transmitted the positions of the remaining Avengers.
"It wasn't willingly, I can tell you that." Wally said casually, crossing his arms. Zatanna and Conner nodded in agreement.
"So you wouldn't mind coming back with me, would you? Just a couple tests and you're good." Conner twitched. "We have regulations on this world that need to be followed."
"That's a definite no."Â Dick voiced, getting a chorus of agreements. None of them were willing to be taken in by the shady government that these heroes worked for. They had enough bad experiences with shady organizations as is. If it were an alternate version of the Justice League, however, that would be another story.
"I am sorry, but we don't have a guarantee that you would be true to your word." Kaldur said, a frown gracing his face.
"Well, I guess I'm sorry too." Hawkeye shot three arrows in quick succession, his teammates launching themselves from the treeline. M'gann threw two of the Avengers away from them and into the surrounding forest while Artemis and Conner dealt with the arrows. The man in the red and gold suit flew back quickly, forcing her to dodge an energy blast. She aimed, tearing the armor on his back and feet off, effectively grounding him.
Artemis' hands flew, arrows being shot in the span of a second. She forced the man with the shield back as he was focused on not being shot. In an unlucky strike for Captain America, Artemis managed to embed his foot into the ground with the arrow containing hardened foam.
Wally ran circles around Hawkeye, catching the arrows without difficulty and occasionally striking back. Whenever there was a chance, Dick threw his birdarangs, disrupting any shots that could land.
Kaldur fought with the former assassin, their blades clashing at every strike. It was clear that while Black Widow had more experience, Kaldur was more versatile in his attacks. He was slowly but steadily beating her back towards the forest line.
Conner, however, fought against the hammer wielding alien in a battle of strength. They wrestled, throwing each other into trees or pounding the other into the ground. Their fight was messy, and many of his teammates had to avoid being hit by the debris.
Zatanna assisted wherever she could, interfering in fights with handy spells, many of which gave her teammates an advantage.
Seeing that her teammates were handling themselves, M'gann focused back on her fight, redirecting any of the shots that were aimed at her. Surprisingly, he had miniature missiles stored in his armor. She easily changed their course, throwing it right back at him. He dodged with a shout, though uninjured from the explosion. His thick armor shielded him.
M'gann's eyes glowed bright green, her hands outstretched as her telekinesis held Iron Man in place. She was prepared to forcefully lull him to sleep when she felt a sharp pain in her back. She fell from the sky, her grasp on Iron Man fading.
"M'gann!" "Miss Martian!"
Strong arms held her gently before she hit the ground. A white shirt tucked into a yellow vest let her know Zatanna had saved her. She let out a groan as she tried to sit up, pain assaulting her at the sudden movement.
"M'gann, are you alright?"Â Dick asked worriedly, covering Wally's inattention by throwing a birdarang at the archer. Concern flooded the bond, her teammates distraught.
"I'm⌠fine." She gritted out. "What hit me?"
"Captain America's shield."Â Artemis answered coldly. Now, there was anger coursing through her end of the bond. She cocked an arrow, letting it fly towards the target of her wrath. He barely managed to dodge, breaking through the hardened foam in a hurry. A purple bruise colored the side of his temple, her intended target being his face.
Conner let out a roar, throwing Thor across the clearing. He landed hard on Captain America, rolling a couple times from the force of Conner's strength.
"We need to finish this. Now."Â Kaldur grunted, a kick from Black Widow knocking him back a step. He recovered quickly, whipping his water hammer against her side and sending her flying into her teammates. She landed in the pile with a gasp. Only two more left.
"On it, boss."Â Dick smirked, throwing an explosive birdarang to disorient Hawkeye. Wally quickly knocked Hawkeye out with a hand chop to the neck while he was distracted looking for Dick. He grabbed an arrow from the unconscious archer's quiver, chirping "Souvenir!"
"Dnib meht ot eht dnuorg." Zatanna chanted, shadows clinging to a struggling Iron Man and the rest of his teammates. The shadows forced them to kneel, and eventually secured the team to the earth. Despite their struggles and curses, they couldn't break free from the mass of shadows binding them.
"Good going, Zee."Â M'gann complimented. Her teammates echoed her sentiments.
"He's trussed up like a pig!" Wally laughed, zipping closer to tease the older man. Tony Stark glared at him but couldn't say anything, his mouth bound shut tightly.
M'gann stood up slightly unsteadily but straightened herself. She needed to make sure the Avengers wouldn't follow them, at least for the time being. She lifted her arms towards them and grasped at their minds. Gently, she sifted through them, plucking information her teammates would be interested in and letting it flow into her mindlink.
Once she was finished, she lulled them to sleep. The humans easily dropped, though Thor fought valiantly, thrashing against his bonds. She poured more energy into her persuasion and eventually, his movements slowed as his eyes drooped, finally falling asleep.
"You did good, but don't strain yourself, M'gann." Kaldur placed a hand on her shoulder, squeezing gently. M'gann nodded, sending her gratitude to him through their link.
"Now that they're dealt with, we should go. There's likely more people that were sent to capture us. I doubt it would be only them." Dick said, picking up stray birdarangs and placing them in his utility belt.
"If it was, I would be worried about this world's defenses." Conner spoke up, picking at the new tears in his shirt.
Artemis nodded, "Call the bio-ship and let's check Happy Harbor, if it even exists."
M'gann closed her eyes, reaching out with her mind. The bio-ship was not too far away, still in camouflage mode. She nudged the bio-ship, grabbing her attention with their signature call. The bio-ship knew how to differentiate her calls and answered in kind, taking off the cloaking as she approached them. Her scarlet hull opened, stairs forming before them.
They quickly entered the bio-ship, M'gann assuming the seat she was previously in. She set course for Happy Harbor, Rhode Island. The team took the flight as time to recuperate from the fight and eat some snacks stored in the camouflaged bio-ship.
The bio-ship circled above Rhode Island before landing behind the mountain, out of sight from civilians. They disembarked, and walked along the side of the mountain. Dick tapped furiously on his holo computer, occasionally looking up and frowning at the mountain.
"Nothing." He said, his hand clenching into a fist. "No servers. No systems. Not even the Watchtower's signal! This is just a regular mountain!"
"This really is another world." Zatanna wrapped her hands around herself. Artemis placed a hand on her shoulder, her expression determined. "We'll find a way home. We always do, right guys?"
"Right." Kaldur straightened himself, a driven edge in his voice. "We need to find a place to use as a base. Then, we figure out how to track the portals and who's behind them."
His team nodded, invigorated by their leader's confidence.
"We can try a nearby city. There should be enough abandoned buildings compared to the nearby town." Wally shared.
"Plus, we would be more anonymous in a crowded city compared to a small town, no?" M'gann stated, floating slightly.
Conner tilted his head, his eyes unfocused. "The closest city should be that way, not too far." He pointed north.
They filed into the bio-ship, shielding it from view once they were in the air, and sped off to the nearest city. The flight was fast, they arrived only 15 minutes later. Dick flew through satellite images of the city and noted the different boroughs. He steered them towards the outskirts of the city, near a warehouse district.
"We should probably change first." Wally said suddenly, turning into a blur before he appeared in his civilian clothes.
M'gann knocked herself on the temple, morphing herself to look like an average human girl. "Hello Megan! I knew we were forgetting something."
"Right, we don't want them tracking us through cameras and such." Zatanna quickly uttered a spell, changing her and Artemis' clothes.
Conner simply turned his shirt inside out, earning a few looks of appreciation in the process. Kaldur and Dick, however, had to grab their spare civilian clothing from the storage room of the bio-ship. They swiftly changed and rejoined their team.
Kaldur zipped up his sweater as he reentered the room, "Have you found a suitable building?"
M'gann nodded, "I've searched the area for any signs of life and there are no humans in the area. We should be safe here."
"For now. Who knows when those heroes will try to find us again." Artemis muttered, a scowl on her face.
"We will just have to ensure they will not." Kaldur said, "Dick, make sure to scrub any trace of us off their databases and any cameras. Zatanna, use your magic to make us and our base untrackable. Artemis, Wally, set up the perimeter of our base. Conner, alert us if you hear anything. And M'gann, redirect anybody who wanders close."
The team got to work, choosing an unoccupied warehouse and constructing a defense system as quickly as they could. M'gann moved the bio-ship inside the large warehouse, she couldn't risk anyone coming across her.
Soon, they finished their tasks, Zatanna warding the warehouse to be properly concealed. They piled into their current base. Wally zipped around, pausing to cough from the dust.
Besides how dust-filled the warehouse was, it was surprisingly well maintained. It held boxes of furniture and many types of supplies they could use. It was simple to create a small set up for Dick to connect to the internet, him and M'gann working together to scrap together a computer from random parts and connect it to a local network.
Artemis and Kaldur helped clean up the dust and dispose of it outside the building while Wally and Conner unloaded the supplies from the bio-ship. They cornered off a part of the warehouse to become the sleeping quarters and another as a makeshift kitchen. Zatanna meanwhile worked on small charms she was carving out on some wood she found, making one for each of her team members.
Dick called for the team to gather, holding a cobbled together device. It connected to his gauntlet through a wire extension.
"What is that?" Zatanna asks, tilting her head.
"I haven't come up with a name for it yet but it records the energy signature from the portal and scans for any matching ones that appear around the world." Dick pointed the device at Artemis, a blue light moving over her body once before disappearing. The device dinged, a green pop up emerged on Dick's holo computer. It read 'SCAN COMPLETE'.
"Neat!" Wally exclaimed, the girls humming in agreement.
Kaldur questioned, "How will we know if another portal appears?"
"Oh, that's simple. It willâ" The device letting out a shrill, vibrating ring as it turned an alarming red, "âdo that."
I did not mean to make this so dialogue heavy, i was struggling (âĽďšâĽ)

Dick technically doesn't have his own super (Conner doesn't really count as Dick's sorry). We need to fix that. I petition he gets Supergirl, Wally, and Donna as his super, speedster, and wonder, and the four of them have a comics run where they just strike out on their own. âRobin told me something yesterday.â Eddie pauses, nerves tickling in his chest as he flips back and forth between following through and backing out.
âOh?â Steve asks distractedly, focused on the careful unlacing of his shoes. Thereâs another pause as Eddie dithers once more, and Steve takes the opportunity to fully comprehend the statement. âOh god, it wasnât about when I fell asleep at work, was it? Because I swear there were no customers, and I ââ
âNo, no.â Eddie interrupts, shifting a little to the left as Steve joins him on the bed. He wouldnât normally, content to press as much of himself against Steveâs side as possible, but tonight is different. Tonight Steve might want the space. âIt wasnât about you. It was⌠It was about her. About her and⌠Girls. How she feels about them. And not about guys?â
He feels dumb. In both ways. Like his mouth and his brain have been filled with cotton and itâs left him stumbling over his words in a nigh incoherent babble. He sucks in a stuttered breath - like thatâll help - and continues.
âShe said, umâŚÂ She said you knew? That sheâd told you about it?â
âYeah,â Steve agrees softly, before something seems to occur to him and he frowns a little as he glances at Eddie. âWhy? Dâyou have a problem with it?â
Eddieâs shocked into silence for a second. The idea that he could exist in a world where Steve Harrington would lecture him about homophobia felt so incredibly removed from any reality heâd ever have conceived even six months ago, it takes him a second too long to answer, and Steveâs face morphs from suspicious into a disappointed frown.Â
âNo! No, man, of course I donât.â The idea is kind of laughable really, but Steve doesnât know that. He takes him at his word, though, and smiles amiably.
âGood. Iâm glad she told you. Sheâs been thinking about it for a bit. I said I thought youâd be cool about it. Thatâs like, your whole thing, right? Anti⌠Anti-estabsh⌠Whatever. Against the grain and shit. Wouldâve sucked to find out you were secretly an asshole.â
Steve flashes him one of those smiles. The ones that say Iâm making fun of you but youâre in on the joke and Iâm so fond of you together in one. Directed at Eddie, they never fail to make his chest feel warm and he canât stop the answering grin from spreading over his own face, even in spite of his nerves.
âYeah. Iâm big into all that anti-establishment shit. Thatâs what metalâs all about, dude! Fighting back against the man - capital T, capital M.â
Eddie relishes in every chuckle his antics pull out of the prettiest boy in the midwest, and he takes an extra second to enjoy this one before he sucks in another breath and continues.
He can be brave. He can.
âBut thatâs not the only reason Iâm, like, totally chill about it.â
Thereâs another beat of silence but Steve only waits patiently, face open and eyes curious. Â
âIt would beâŚâ Eddie drags out the vowel, tilting his head in Steve's direction to cover up the fact that he just canât hold eye contact anymore. âHypocritical of me, to judge Robin. For liking girls. Since IâŚÂ Weâre the same. Or, I guess opposite, when you really think about it. Batting for your own team but weâre on different teams, yâknow?â
Another silence. Eddieâs anxious and Steveâs confused. Calculating. Eddie can almost hear the thoughts beating one by one through Steveâs head. The steady way he assesses things.
Liking girls. The same. Liking girls? Opposite. Own team. Oh. Oh. Opposite. Liking boys.
âOh,â Steve murmurs, proving Eddieâs assessment correct. He usually gets there; you just have to give him a little time sometimes. Itâs something the kids arenât always good at, but Eddieâs a patient man. Sometimes. For Steve. âOh. Youâre⌠Gay?â
The hesitation is fair, Eddie supposes - he couldnât bring himself to say the actual word so why should Steve?
He casts a sideways glance towards him as he nods in answer, eyes immediately catching on that immutable gaze. Warm, steady, Steve. Unchanged and unwavering, even through Eddieâs confession. Comforting in its familiarity.
Something washes over Steveâs face then, a flicker of oh shit, like heâs suddenly remembered heâs left the oven on, and Steve is the one close to babbling.
âOh, uh, thank you for telling me, man, Iâm, uh, Iâm really glad you felt you could trust me.â He smiles softly, nodding once as if to punctuate his words and then, wonderful, beautiful Steve, he reaches out to grip Eddieâs shoulder with his hand. Itâs nothing in the grand scheme of things - Eddieâs always been a touchy guy once given permission and hell if Steve doesnât love to permit - but it means a lot. It says a lot.
It says Iâm not going to treat you any differently. It says Iâm still your friend. It says I accept you, even when a lot of people wouldnât.
âYeah?â He has to check. He has to.
âYeah,â Steve says, sure as anything.
Thereâs a pause as Eddie tells himself he absolutely cannot cry over this.
Flip the script. Humour. Jokes. Teasing. Goodbye genuine emotions.
âDid Robin train you to say that?â
Steveâs earnestness cracks into laughter.
âYeah. She said I was great when she came out, but also awful. And, yâknow, I wanted to be ready if anyoneâŚÂ If one of the kidsâŚÂ I donât know. I just wanted to get it right.â He shrugs, earnest look back at full blast. âI wanted whoever to know they were safe with me. That it wouldnât change how I saw them. That itâs okay. Normal. Yâknow.â Â
Another shrug, a little self-deprecating. Eddieâs drowning in affection.
âYeah. Yeah, I do know.â Thereâs a beat where the air feels too heavy with emotion for Eddieâs liking so he cracks another grin. âYou did great, man. A plus. Iâll tell Robin youâre a great student.â
Steve practically giggles, and Eddie feels brave enough to nudge his shoulder against Steveâs. Thereâs not even a hint of hesitation as Steve pushes back into the touch.
âBut now you absolutely have to tell me what you said that was so awful you needed to learn lines before you were allowed to do this again.â
Heâs genuinely curious. All Robin had told him was that Steve had been great. Didnât even hesitate. Put her at ease immediately and that she had no doubt Eddieâs own secret would be safe with him. Sheâd pushed that point firmly.
âOh, I, uh, I made fun of the girl she was crushing on.â
Eddieâs eyebrows raise, eyes widening and lips twitching with laughter.
âWhat?â
âYeah, IâŚÂ Look, yâknow what - I stand by it. Total dud. Robbie can absolutely do better. I mean, Tammy Thompson? Really?â
He sounds genuinely outraged. It cracks Eddie up so much he ends up having to use Steveâs arm to hold himself up.
He categorically does not think about how firm said arm feels under his grip. He doesnât.
âShe was crushing on Tammy Thompson?â
âYeah. Said she had âinspirationsâ or some shit. I said she wasnât gonna get anywhere singing like she did.â
âI think you mean aspirations. Like, goals in life? But, yeah, that girl couldnât hold a tune if you handed one to her.â
Steve laughs again, head thrown back and Eddie has to gulp audibly as he stares at the exposed skin of Steveâs neck.
He is not going to bite it over one of those gorgeous little moles. Heâs not.
âI told her she sounded like a muppet.â
Eddie feels like heâs getting whiplash.
âYou told Tammy that?â
âWhat? No! Iâm not an entire asshole. I told Robin that while we were crazy high on Russian truth serum so itâs not, like, entirely my fault, I think.â
Eddie practically giggles, smacking both his hands over his face as he does.
His mood has taken such a drastic turn, he can hardly believe it. Trust Steve to take him from a ball of anxiety and turn him into a giddy mess. Itâs almost infuriating how Eddieâs crush blooms at every example of Steve just being Steve.
Eddie shakes his head, baffled, amazed, and so utterly fond he feels like his heart is flip-flopping in his chest.
âThank you, though. Seriously. For trusting me with that. It means a lot.â
The earnest look is back and Eddie can only smile.
âYouâre a good guy, Harrington. I never wouldâve guessed it a year ago, but itâs true. One of the best, I might argue.â
Steve flushes an endearing pink at that. Eddieâs heart does not stutter in his chest at that visual.
âRight back at you, Munson.â
Thereâs a beat where they sit together, smiling like idiots, before Eddie claps his hands together and announces that he needs a beer. Steve is all too eager to follow him to the kitchen and the evening is wasted away with cheap beer, a good movie, and better company.
And if Eddie has only confessed one of his tightly-held secrets then he thinks thatâs plenty in the grand scheme of things, and heâs certainly not going to push his luck by admitting heâs pretty sure heâs in love with one of his best friends.
Nope. That one stays under lock and key.

Wait wait wait if that's what a letter looks like what would one of the dares be? (Poll post)
The video starts with Danny thanking everyone for their donations to the GoFundMe on his account. He used it for the last family whose house was destroyed in the Superman vs. Gaint robot fight.
It shows clips of him bringing the family to the new place and handing over a giant check. He thanks his followers and personal fans, who helped him pick out basic furniture through donations or second-hand stores. He then brings up the best dares his last video got, which got the most likes, and the ones he chose for fans to vote on his website.
He smiles at the camera, "Now for these weeks dares!"
The following clip shows standing behind Batman, creeping closer whenever the hero looks away until he suddenly dives for Batman's cape. Before his fingers can close around the fabric, Batman whips and kicks Phantom over the edge of the building. The scene is freeze-frame with Phantom just about to fall over the side, face clouded in horror, and Batman slowly realizes who he kicked, as the words "Dare: Get under Batman's cape and cling to his leg like the first Robin" ding onto the screen.
The scene returns to a regular speed as Phantom's scream slowly fades away, with Batman watching his fall with a soft. "My Bad. Reflex"
In the next scene, Phantom is shown looking injured on the ground. Batman's grabbing hook appears seconds before the dark shadow falls onto the roof, running towards him. Just as he reaches Phantom, the hero springs up and dives for his cape. Batman jerks back and clocks him cold in the same action. "You got to stop doing that kid."
In the next scene, Flash waves cheerfully at the camera as Phantom explains their plan. Flash will be both the diversion and front-line infantry. He will rush around Batman when the hero less expects it, creating a strong enough wind his cape will fly up and provide the perfect chance for Phantom to sneak underneath it.
They recruit Green Arrow to record for them, implying their plan at a end of a meeting. The camera spans from the top of a conference table, with heroes suffering papers and chatting as they all stand from the table. Batman is chatting with Wonder Woman when the Flash suddenly leaps the table and starts running towards them.
Flash is punched clear across the room by Wonder Woman, who gasps into frantic apologizes. Her reflection got the best of her, she says just as Phantom flies up from the ground and laches onto Batman's leg, the cape successfully over his shoulder.
"Yes! I got the Bat-Cape Hug!" The glowing hero cheers.
Batman stares down at him for a moment before his rough, deep voice echoes. "That's what you wanted? You could have just asked Chum."
He promptly covers Phantom with his cape correctly, as if though he was tucking into bed a child.
The video ends with the words. Dare Pham-done!
The video trends with Batman's words, "You could have just asked chum," becoming a heartwarming meme.

Very tempted to make a short comic about Captain Marvel with the YJ vs Captain Marvel with Jr, starting with Marvel introducing Junior into the Young Justice while he's still the den mother
And it's just a compilation of Marvel treating the YJ with respect while rough-housing/Bullying Jr
One of them (i'm thinking either Aqualad or Robin) asked why he treats his son harshly,
"Son?" Both of them are visibly confused
"Is he not your ward?"
"Eh, far from it, he's my big brother" Cap laughed
Everyone got confused
"Brother!?"
"You gotta admit, I look pretty young for my age! Why did you think My name's Junior?" Junior teased them all
Kid Flash jawdropped, "Are you Kidding me!? Him!? What is it this time? Time Travel!? Don't tell me this has anything to do with Magic!"
Junior shrugged

As someone who drives in LA traffic: they nailed Dickâs expression
I was a little late getting the starfire book but Iâm so happy to finally have it!
Iâve been sooo curious how they were going to write her since they have put these characters in a more modern setting and have them all with freshly discovered powers.
It was pretty neat setting up the starfire vs blackfire rivalry so early but also giving them some time to be sisters.
It also means so much to me that Kori and Vic became friends first. Their similarities make for such a good friendship dynamic that isnât always fully explored. So making Vic the first friend she can trust, just *chefs kiss*
Thatâs it for now I guess. Canât wait to see the whole group dynamic in the next book. It is weird having two robins but I feel like there is a lot of potential there.
Hereâs hoping theyâll find bumblebee, kid flash, and supergirl in the HIVE facility

DOUBLE WHAMMY!
Platonic!Birdflash X Tamaranean!Reader
âgenre: fluff!
Summary: trying to understand social media of earth is confusing. Especially confusing when two young boy heroes try to teach you.

âRobin?â You say, walking into his room with your wild fiery curly hair floats in the air. Robin looks up from his phone, despite him wearing shades. You can feel his stare and attention clearly on you. âYeah, what you need fire?â He says with a warm smile.
âWhat does GYATT mean? Some person said this towards me?â You say, walking to him closer. Immediately Robin dropped his phone along with his jaw.
âWho?!â Robin says quickly, getting up and shaking your body. You did not get dizzy, though you easily took his hands off you. âI do not remember, but I do wish to require the information about this âgyattâ? Is a bad word?â You say, now frowning thinking itâs a bad word. âWhat! Of course itâs not a bad word Y/NâŚitâs just a certain slang around here some kids say..like little ones.â Robin says, trying to comfort the alien.
The Tamaranean teen smiles immediately, âoh! So I see. Itâs a wording towards the little ones to get along is it?â Robin gave a face expression that was unexplainable.
âWe gotta work on your English wording.â
Wally out of his hero suit who was munching on cookies was standing by his best friend who had a presentation with a pointer. Ready to teach the certain alien on social media language.
âDoubleâŚwhammy?â You questioned slowly as you looked at the two boys in front of you. âYes, itâs like when two things go wrong in one setting.â Robin says with a smile. You start to think about it before smiling.
âOh! So like when you both ran into each other when trying the capture of the flag? You both failed as I succeed.â The two boys looked embarrassed at the memory before Robin got back to business.
âOkay, now fire, what does this say?â
You looked at the word, âalpha.â Smiling you pointed at it with confidence. âAlpha! Like the ones I see winning the battle to the death!â Wally and robin look at each other worriedly.
âOkay next up.â Wally says, pointing a word saying âbet.â You looked confused as you just tilted your head like a confused puppy. âThis word âbet.â Is used when someone is like saying âconfirmedâ or whateverâŚyâknow?â
âI do not know Wally.â You say with a frown. Now Robin facepalms, leaving a big sigh con out of his mouth. âIght then.â Wally says with a frown. Yeah it was getting confusing by the minute, but you soon were learning a little slow but quickly.
âOkay. Fire, show me what you gotâ Wally says as Robin just watches the two converse. âBet.â âGood start.â Robin says smiling. âWhy thank you!â You said happily. âI shall now speak the ways of your kind!â You zoom off flying with a fire trail of your hair leaving.
Wally and Robin just stand there, smiling before Robin spoke the truth. âTheyâll forget tomorrow morning.â âYep.â

The Justice Society of America vs. the Justice League
This is the first half of the massive post I've been working on, which I've decided to cut in half; part two will be more focused on what the Justice League looks like when the story actually starts in 2004, like membership and different teams within the Justice League, like the Justice Foundation and Justice League Dark.
But for now, enjoy the backstory!
During World War II, Adolf Hitler was interested in supernatural artifacts, ultimately finding the Spear of Destiny around 1940. President Roosevelt called on several superheroes to help defend the USA, as most local superheroes of the time tried to stay out of international conflicts to focus on their own territories. After this initial mission is complete, the group of heroes decide to remain as a team, funded and directed by the United States government, called the Justice Society of America. Founding members were Flash (Jay Garrick), Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Doctor Fate (Kent Nelson), Atom (Al Pratt), Hawkman (Carter Hall), Hourman (Rex Tyler), and Spectre (Jim Corrigan). Several heroes joined shortly after, including Hawkmanâs girlfriend/wife Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman (Shiera Sanders/Shiera Hall), Johnny Thunderbolt (John Thunder) with Yz the Thunderbolt, Doctor Mid-Nite (Charles McNider), Starman (Ted Knight), among others. Iâm also adding several âolderâ versions of heroes who might not have originally been associated with the JSA but have more âmodernâ variants that will be part of the eventual Justice League.
People with superhuman abilities have always existed, one of the earliest being Vandal Savage, but they mostly did one of three things; 1] they swore fealty to a local ruler and worked within an existing system (Alucard, though against his will); 2] they became a local ruler and created their own system (King Arthur); or 3] they worked outside existing systems as a vigilante, usually guided by their own internal moral compass (Robin Hood). These super powered individuals would often be drawn to each other, as allies or enemies, but most would remain local to a specific territory; or if they didnât have a particular area, they would travel and help whoever happened to be around them at a given time. During the Renaissance, power and authority was more centralized, formalized, and structured, forcing super powered individuals to either fall in line with these systems or sink further into the shadows, becoming âmystery menâ as a way to protect themselves and their loved ones. These mystery men were often vilified for not bowing to the governmentâs will, which led to more secrecy, which led to mistrust from the public, which led to more secrecy, in an ever darkening spiral.
The Justice Society of America is significant because it marked a change in the perception the general public had for these âsuperheroesâ as the JSA preferred to call them. They were no longer mysterious boogey-men to scare kids straight; they were just people, who lived and loved and bought groceries just like anyone else, and who wanted to help others in any way they could. As the globalization of human culture increased through the rest of the 1900s, so too did the influence of superheroes; some thrived on the attention and political power their celebrity status granted them, while others shied away from the spotlight theyâd been thrust into, not prepared for the nightmare that is Public Relations.
Over the next few decades, as the idea of superheroes became more mainstream, more local heroes began popping up, as well as some established local heroes releasing their stranglehold on some of their secrets; not all, but enough to humanize themselves to the general public. The idea of public adoration appealed to many, like moths to a flame, which unfortunately tended to draw the wrong crowd for the wrong reasons, saturating the âsuperhero marketâ with selfish so-called heroes who only cared about themselves rather than helping people if no one was around to praise them for it. Thankfully, these heroes didnât last long and folded when faced with an actual threat, which often ended in public humiliation; people were finally starting to catch on to this trend by the 1970s, leading to newer heroes thinking twice before donning a cape and mask.
Three tiers of membership developed within the JSA; full members, part-time members or associates, and non-members that have been endorsed by the JSA who might become members in the future. Of course a more nuanced hierarchy developed over time, as is common among groups of humans, which was loosely based around these tiers but there were always outliers who had more or less respect than their membership status would otherwise grant them. While some were drawn to the JSA for the fame, just an endorsement could make or break a local hero; legitimizing their status as a hero in the publicsâ eyes, access to better equipment and training, and, most importantly, access to medical treatment that the government would pay for and an implicit understanding about secret identities from all hospital staff. There were pros and cons for each tier; higher membership meant more responsibility but also more compensation, while lower membership offered more freedom but less access to resources. For example, members were paid based on their time, effort, and how much danger they were put in, but they had no choice but to answer the call to action. Those with just an endorsement werenât paid at all and had limited access to other resources, but they were allowed to keep their identities a secret from the JSA, which even part-time members had to reveal, though not to the public if they didnât want to.
Superman was inducted into the JSA fairly quickly after his debut, joining in 1978. The JSA had been around for almost 4 decades by then and its flaws and shortcomings were becoming more and more apparent; while most up-and-coming heroes had grown up with the idea of superheroes being necessary for public safety, the JSA had become increasingly political, rife with in-fighting, and interconnected with the US military. Theyâd become the USAâs attack dogs internationally and tended to attract those who craved the spotlight via membership more than those who actually wanted to help people, who often stayed at endorsement level. They were getting desperate for new members that could revitalize their image, which inevitably either corrupted the young heroes or disgusted them into leaving.
Trained as a reporter for his day job, Superman quickly uncovered the truth but recognized that the JSA had good bones and structure, despite its corruption. He initially tried to change things from within but realized the corruption and codependence ran too deep. Instead, he began studying the structure of the JSA, figuring out what it did well and how to avoid what it did wrong, all while making plans for his own superhero team, independent of government meddling, and international in scope; if nothing else, it could help superhero teams coordinate with each other as a neutral third party mediator.
Superman wasnât quiet about the JSAâs shortcomings, but kept his plans for the Justice League mostly to himself; he didnât want to be kicked out for potentially poaching talent as a competitor, not while he still needed the JSAâs resources to help people. In 1986, Superman approached newly minted CEO Bruce Wayne with his idea; he knew Batman had been approached to join the JSA but had declined and hoped that, despite their rough introduction a few years prior, Wayne Enterprise would agree to be the Justice Leagueâs financial backer, affording them greater independence from any government interference. Bruce had a lot going on at the time and said heâd think about it.
Somewhere around 1990, Wonder Woman debuted and hesitantly joined the JSA, recognizing the corruption (not to mention misogyny) but also its usefulness to her, and was quickly approached by Superman with his new team idea. She was much more comfortable with his plan and eagerly jumped on board, agreeing to be its main leader, but until they could make it happen, she worked on establishing herself as someone the public could trust.
By 1993, Dick Greyson had graduated from sidekick Robin to independent hero Nightwing, Barbra Gordan had well established herself as Batgirl, and Jason Todd was doing well as the second Robin. Feeling more stable, Bruce asked if Clark was still serious about his idea, which heâd now had 7 more years to refine and recruit for. The Justice League finally debuted the next year, lead mostly by Wonder Woman and backed by Superman and Batman as joint seconds-in-command; they purposely never established which of the two had a higher rank and delegated the responsibilities evenly between them based on their strengths. Superman took more of front-facing role with Wonder Woman, as both were generally good with Public Relations, while Batman took on more of a supporting role, doing a lot of the background planning and coordinating to maximize efficiency. Some would compare them to the three arms of the US government, with Wonder Woman as the executive, Superman as the judicial, and Batman as the legislative. While not intentional, it helped people understand their roles and division of power so they didnât do anything to confirm or deny the parallels.
Their initial lineup consisted of Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman, along with Flash (Barry Allen), Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Aquaman (Orin/Arthur Curry), and Martian Manhunter (Jâonn Jâonzz). After the League proved to be stable and not likely to disband, like most independent superhero teams did, they quickly gained members, especially younger heroes that wanted to change the world without being shackled to a specific government and hamstrung by their politics. Many members also joined as a representative of local superhero teams/government agencies around the world.

For the YJ (and adjacent) kids, there are four ways that you can acquire a codename:
Taking a predecessor's codename on by choice: Tim and Cassie both step up to take on a role that has previously existed but is currently unfilled. But it's not as simple as declaring oneself the new Robin/Wonder Girl. It requires the mentor's blessing as well as that of the predecessor to be official, along with a ceremonious conferral of a costume. This is always something to be proud of, and although taking on a previously used codename comes with its share of pressures and insecurities, Tim and Cassie consistently see their roles as a honor and privilege.
Having a predecessor's codename conferred on you: Kon, Cissie, and Ray all inherit their codenames from someone, usually a parental or authority figure, who has assigned them that role, and for all of them, these names are, at least initially unwelcome. Kon was created to be a new Superman but after Clark's return is given permission to call himself Superboy. He at first sees his codename as an insult but comes to accept it as something that he has earned and can make his own. Cissie has been raised to take up her mother's mantle and instructed to emphasize to the media that she is "the new Arrowette," but she ultimately rejects the name her mother has forced on her and never returns to it. Ray is expected to take on his father's codename; there's never any question of calling himself anything else. But he actively dislikes being called "the Ray" and prefers to drop the article so that the codename is identical to his given name.
Choosing your own codename: Bart, Greta, Slo-bo, and Grant either have no connection to a legacy or prefer to distance themselves from a predecessor and thus get to choose their own codenames. These chosen codenames are indicative of how they see themselves and often suggested by something that somebody said about them. Bart openly rejects the opportunity to be Kid Flash and names himself Impulse based on a disparging comment of Wally's (the name will later be attributed for Batman, for some reason). Greta calls herself Secret because that's what she is when Tim, Kon, and Bart fake her death to free her and tell no one. Slo-bo feels like an unworthy successor to Lobo and accepts a more humble version of the name after mishearing something Greta says. Grant decides to call himself Damage because "what I do is who I am"--a reflection of his poor self-esteem.
Using a preexisting name given by someone else as your codename: Anita goes by Empress because it was her childhood nickname, given by her late mother, and it's a way to honor her mother's memory while maintaining a unique identity.
By contrast, the kids created to be villains don't even get the option to name themselves. Match and Inertia seem to have been assigned their codenames: Match because he was made to match (and surpass) Kon, Inertia as an opposite to Impulse (resistance to change vs. a motivating force). Match doesn't even have a personal name, and Thad's personal name is identical to his creator's. Individuality is not an option.

Robin Character Content Master List

I have consumed an ungodly amount of batman and robin content in the past nineteen years of my life. So, here's a masterlist of said (media) content and the characters that I feel they do justice. (I will be adding to this over time. But feel free to add stuff in reblogs/comments/messages.)
Dick Grayson (Robin/Nightwing)

The 90s Batman: The Animated Series does a great job at exploring Dick's origin and his relationship with Bruce growing up. The show also does a lot for him in terms of showcasing his skills as Robin.
The 2010 Young Justice series is an honorable addition to say the least. The show focuses on the Young Justice League featuring Aqua-Lad, Robin, Kid Flash, Superboy (Kon el), Ms. Martian, and Artemis. (And more in later seasons.) And later showcases his leadership skills as Nightwing.
The 2003 Teen Titans series is definitely the better series at showcasing Dick's leadership skills and how he works with his team. (That Teen Titans Go bullshit can burn in hell where it belongs.)
The 2018 TV series Titans* is a darker take on Grayson's story with the titans. Though inaccurate to the comics or any other version of the bat family, the show does delve into Dick Grayson's dark side.
The movie Batman: Bad Blood has to be one of the best ways to see Dick's skills under the Batman cowel. When a mission goes wrong, he has to work with many members of the bat family to find a presumed dead Bruce.
Jason Todd (Robin/Red Hood)

The 2018 series Titans* has archs that showcase many members of the bat family and their relationship with Dick and the other titans.
The Batman: Under The Red Hood movie IS Jason's movie. It is about Jason's return to Gotham as Red Hood after coming back from the dead. (Alot of bat family content in this one!)
Although not cannon, the recently returned web cominc Batman: Wayne Family Adventures does a wonderful job at delving into Jason's PTSD and family dynamics.
Tim Drake (Robin/Red Robin)

The 2018 series Titans*, though inaccurate to everything else, has archs that showcase a darker take on many members of the bat family and their relationship with Dick and the other titans. Tim is one of those relationships starting in season 3.
The '97 series The New Batman Adventures showcases Tim as Robin and his journey to becoming Red Robin.
The 2010 Young Justice series showcases Tim in his Young Justice era starting in season 2.
Damian Al ghul Wayne (Robin)
The Batman: Son of Batman is Damian's origin story and the start of his training under the title of Robin.
The 3D animated Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons takes place when Damian first came to live with Bruce. The movie depicts damians relationship with Jon (Superman's son.)
The movie Batman VS Robin does a great job of showcasing Damian's character and showing that he is more than just the title of Robin.
Batman: Bad Blood is a great movie if you want to witness the epitome of Damian's realtionship with Dick as the Dynamic Duo.
Although not cannon, the web cominc Batman: Wayne Family Adventures is THE comic for wholesome content of Damian and the family dynamics of the Batfam.
*The Titan series have many trigger warnings that I recommend looking up before watching the show.
(Side tangent: I cannot find any connonical Stephanie Brown content outside of the comics that is available anywhere. I vaguely remember a movie with her. But, I'm starting to doubt that it ever existed because I cannot find it anywhere! And honestly I find that incredibly rude that this sassy blonde doesn't have ANYTHING!)
