DISREPAIR ERROR_422: Episode 3
Security: Chapter 2
Boring.
Itara leaned back in the oversized security chair, giving the desk a swift kick to get it spinning before staring up at the ceiling. She'd decided to hang back and watch the download since Metal and RK were faster, it made sense to have them do the search. But that meant she had to sit there and watch a computer in the meantime. Of course, she could just time travel, but she was still wary about the energy around the pizzaplex. All she had to do was touch that arcade and all of this happened. What would happen if she time traveled here?
She was kind of curious.
Sticking her foot out to stop the chair again, she grabbed the black notebook from the desk and flipped through, scanning for notes about the building. She didn't get far before the door suddenly slammed open, startling her off the chair and sending both her and the notebook sprawling to the ground. With a quick shake of her head, she stood back up, scowling towards the door, expecting it to be Metal.
“SPARKY–!”
It wasn't, though.
It was a human woman. Tall, slender, long blonde hair pulled back in a tight ponytail and through a black cap with ‘security’ written across it. The gray shirt also had a security emblem, which made who she was all too apparent. Except everyone should have been escorted out of the pizzaplex by now. Why was she here?
Itara’s eye narrowed in confusion, immediately mirrored by the human woman across the room.
“You shouldn't be here.”
Itara debated the right response for a moment before realizing she was in her own world and could respond as such. She was so used to needing to be cautious all the time. Standing back up straight and picking her journal up, she faced the woman, her tone remaining flat, “I should, actually. You, however, have no reason to be here right now. You should have left with the others. This world is far too dangerous for humans to wander on their own.”
The woman visibly hitched. Itara imagined the response was likely strange, she wasn't surprised it would catch her off-guard. What she wasn't expecting, however, was the anger that filled her face.
“Where're your parents, kid?”
Why must everyone call her a kid? “I don't have any, not that it's any concern to you.” She watched the woman's eyes scan the room, falling on the laptop and the running program. This was going to be a problem, wasn't it? Maybe she should call RK or Metal back. But before she could even pull her phone out to call them, the woman's demeanor shifted completely. She didn't even see the knife until it was firmly embedded in her laptop screen, a ring of cracks around the blade, the screen glitching before going black with a fizzing snap. Nor did she have time for the shock or rage that followed as the woman bolted across the room, pulled the knife free, and swung for her. Itara barely managed to stumble away from the slash before it went clean through her eye.
But that was all she needed to know and wasted no time seeping into the floor to escape the crazy security guard. Why was she even here?! But she couldn't just leave with all her stuff there, either. Did she chance time travel? No better time to find out.
Zipping out of the office and down the hall just enough, she rematerialized and created a portal back five minutes. She still couldn't travel huge distances without losing her physical form, but five minutes was fine. The portal took a minute to stabilize, though, enough time for the crazed woman to come rushing back out of the office, but she managed to get it stable and hop through before she could catch up.
Once on the other side, Itara took a minute to breathe and calm down and assess what happened. She had no idea who that woman was or what her problem was, but she needed to keep her from destroying her laptop! With a huff, she stood back up straight and looked around. First thing's first was a note in her journal, she'd leave it on one of the earlier pages so she'd see it right away:
The security guard has a knife, get the laptop and LEAVE!
Done. Next was to warn RK and Metal. Melting into a fog again, she zipped off to the nearest robot, finding RK around the upper floors of the atrium. He stopped once he spotted the fog, waiting for her to materialize. “I thought you were watching the laptop?”
“I am but we have a problem. There’s a crazy lady with a knife and she breaks the laptop in about five minutes. I’ve warned myself to just grab the laptop and leave but it’ll be easier to do so with you present.”
“Right,” RK nodded, hesitating only a moment but once she disappeared back into the floor, he took off for the office, contacting Metal via comm unit to update him on the situation.
***
“Where are your parents, kid?”
“On their way, very likely,” Itara guessed, moving in front of the laptop to block it from the woman’s view, looking for the hidden knife. The security guard’s right arm was partially behind her, though Itara was unsure if she was already holding the weapon or if it was hidden on her person somewhere.
“Don’t you know better than to sneak into places when they’re closed?” The second the woman strode forward towards her, Itara took the hint and reached around to close the laptop’s lid. The download wasn’t done but it was better than being destroyed.
“I thought this place was empty but clearly it isn’t. You’re right, I should be leaving,” she agreed, shoving the laptop and her book in her bag as quickly as possible and pulling it on. She turned back around to face the woman just in time to not only see her standing directly over her, but also to catch a glint of something shiny behind her back. Knife confirmed. Time to go. Slipping around the towering woman, she shuffled backwards to the office door, the recognizable heavy footfalls of RK nearing as she bade the woman farewell. She waited only long enough for RK to reach her, letting him pick her up and put her on his shoulders, both of them eyeing the woman before finally turning to leave.
“What happened?”
“I’ll explain back at home. Let’s just get out of here for now.”
“Right.”
-----
“So. What happened?”
“Clearly, the building wasn’t empty,” Itara frowned, staring up in thought, going over every detail of the incident that hadn’t come to be. Her notebook filled out with further notes once they were back home, detailing the initial run-in with the woman. “Whoever that human was, she had no problem immediately resorting to violence, either. According to my notes, she pulled out a knife, broke the laptop, and came after me. She shouldn’t have even been there to begin with- actually, wait a minute!” She sat back up and grabbed the notebook from the nearby computer desk, scanning through her notes and narrowing an eye. “She shouldn’t have been there at all! According to the database there’s only one human employed at the entire pizzaplex and they’re a night security guard. When we came back here, it was nearly noon! Why was she there so early? Why was she still there after everyone evacuated?”
“Who cares?” Metal interrupted, walking over to the laptop sitting open in the desk, pulling the database folder up, “it's not like humans are particularly hard to get rid of. If she gets violent, so do we.” He grinned back at them as Itara looked over, her expression dropping.
“While that is one solution, I think we should just be cautious of her next time we go there. Something’s off about her and that entire building is strange.” She stopped and looked up to the main computer when a window popped open, alerting to an activated security system. “Damn, the power’s back on now. I can only assume that woman turned it on… but I wonder why? There’s no way she’s just that dedicated to the job, right?”
“It’s possible,” RK shrugged, “some security guards take their jobs fairly seriously, depending on why they’re in security to begin with.”
Both Metal and Itara glanced back at him, eyebrows raised, until Itara realized, “That’s right, you took on security jobs while I was away in the original timeline.”
“And after. Yours and Metal’s games weren’t exactly cheap to keep up with,” he eyed them both, causing them to look off in other directions simultaneously. Itara whistled lightly while Metal returned to the computers in an attempt to ignore the insinuation. If anything, they were shocked he stopped trying to convince them it was just ‘training’, rather than video games. He never let go of that one until recently. RK shook his head at both of them but continued, “In any case, while I was mostly there just for something to do, some of my coworkers at certain jobs were deadly serious about it. It went beyond even the paycheck for them, though I never really asked them why. That said, I’m pretty sure none of them turned into knife-wielding maniacs over it, even if they did get a little trigger-happy with tasers. Luckily, I was already used to dealing with Metal, so a taser-happy human wasn’t too big of an issue in comparison.”
Metal scowled over his shoulder at the comment but Itara snorted. “RK, why DID you go into security in the original timeline, though? Do you remember?”
He shrugged, “It was something to do to keep my body moving that didn’t ask too many questions. I don’t remember why taking a job was ultimately what I went for but security worked well for my physical strength, plus there isn’t really much chit-chat between coworkers or the employer. I didn’t have to worry about people wanting to know anything about me while on the job. Probably why I went back to it even after the reset.” Crossing his arms, he leaned back against the nearby work table, “Plus, the pay was good and your school was pricey. I had to take a lot of extra shifts after-...” The room fell into uncomfortable silence as both RK and Itara realized after what.
After Mira and Kelly weren’t able to cover the costs.
The hedgehog parents were back now and even Itara’s namesake somehow returned, but the incident at the mansion was still a sore spot for Itara. She refused to let herself forget about it or pretend it didn’t happen anymore, but she didn’t like talking about it, either. RK shook his head and drew her attention back, “Actually, speaking of the school, Mira mentioned an idea to me recently that I’m in favor of. I think he and Lynda have been working on it, I wonder how that’s coming along. Maybe I should help them out.”
Itara was immediately suspicious. Nothing good ever came from Lynda being involved in anything. “What is it?” she questioned, side-eyeing the echidna. If Mira, Lynda, and RK were all in on it, she was concerned.
“Mira wanted to get a school back up and running.”
SHE KNEW IT! NOTHING GOOD!
“RK WHY?!” she immediately whined, her ears flattening. “Who needs SCHOOL?!”
“Children do. To grow. Obviously. Look at all the good it did you, after all,” RK offered, though the snark was hard to miss in his tone. “A lot of businesses and systems have been rebuilding lately. Mira thought education should be prioritized, as well. I fully agreed with him. Of course, the population isn’t nearly what it used to be so it might be more generalized than it used to be but I think it’s a good starting point.”
Itara whined again, knowing full-well that if a school started back up again, RK would still make her go despite everything. Despite the fact that it was now a well-known fact she was not a child. That several years had passed. That they didn’t need to blend in anymore. He would still insist she go. Desperate, she turned to Metal, who had been ignoring the entire conversation, “Metal! Help! Tell RK school is a terrible idea!”
“Why would I do that? It’s not my concern.”
She scowled, “Do you want to go on more field trips?”
This caught his attention, as she knew it would, his own ears perking as his eyes remained straight ahead, Spagonia replaying before him. Eventually he scowled back at both her and RK, “Absolutely not.” He turned fully to RK, getting a slight smirk from the echidna, “I don’t care what you subject the child to-”
“HEY!”
“But if you force me to babysit one more time, I am going to destroy you.”
RK shrugged again, looking away, “I make no promises.” The grin never left his face for even a moment, even once Metal was nearly on top of him, only stepping back to avoid the blue bot’s grasp. The two danced around the basement lab; RK remained defensive, Metal’s attacks were half-hearted and easily avoidable, while Itara did her best to remain out of range of any stray swipe. Metal only seemed to want to show his frustration with being roped in without actually wanting to start a fight and RK knew it well enough and let him get that frustration out. It wasn’t going to change anything, either way and they all knew it.
The lighthearted fight came to a rather sudden stop, however, as the thud of thick boots were finally heard over the noise the two bots were making. All three stopped and looked towards the stairs, where X had also stopped short, looking between them, discomfort and confusion written all over his face, and questioned, “...We’re not interrupting anything, are we?”
Metal and RK straightened up right away but Itara sighed in relief and moved the chair back towards the center of the room again, “No, just RK making terrible decisions. How did the scout go?” She studied them carefully as all three otherworlder bots moved off the stairs and further into the basement lab, signs of a battle rather blatant on all their armor. Scuff marks, dents, chipped edges, but the worst sign was the look of exhaustion on X and Axl’s face… and the frustration on Zero’s. Well, more frustration than usual, possibly even rage. While RK and Metal moved back to their usual spots near the computer, Axl leaned against a far wall while Zero remained by X near the center.
Finally, X sighed and shook his head, “We located them both, it seems they were, in fact, working together…”
“And?”“And they escaped,” Zero snapped.

Ignore my vote, yes I wanted to do it, I liked the idea that much.
But, even though the poll isn’t over it’s clear where it’s going.
So anyways I got a couple ideas so I wanna hear you’re guys’ opinions.
These two Questions are…
Should Knuckles and the Master Emerald be involved and should there be a roboticized Sonic?

I'll understand if you wanna keep those answers to yoursleves, but in case it's ok to ask, this question is for mama, Star, multi and everyone else who wanna answer.
Wich Sonic Boom episode is your favorite, wich one you find the funniest and wich one is your least favorite?
Reasons why would be appreciate but not nescessary
Three megafans with many thoughts = long post! Buckle up!
MULTI:
FAVORITE: A tie between "The Meteor" and "In the Midnight Hour". I'm a sucker for body swapping tropes. Hearing Roger Craig Smith and Mike Pollock take on each others roles was a lot of fun. The animation team also put in a lot of work to have them swap mannerisms such as Eggman reaching for a moustache he didn't have in Sonic's body or Sonic trying to run like himself in Eggman's. "In the Midnight Hour" was a solid Stick's centered episode with a really cool robot as the main antagonist. I love Dreamcaster's design. The mind control plot also helped inspire Robo-Sonic 1.0!
FUNNIEST: Probably "Alone Again, Unnaturally". There's specific scenes in other episodes that make me laugh harder, but this episode generally makes me smile throughout. Sonic being completely oblivious to why he's trapped out of phase and his "haunting" of Eggman's lair always cracks me up.
LEAST FAVORITE: Another tie, this time between "Counter-Productive" or "Knuck Knuck! Who's Here?" Both these episode base their plots around Knuckles just... being an idiot. I can't stand plots that are only motivated by characters being dumb, especially coming from someone that really shouldn't be. Charlie and his wife are fun villains, but I hate that I sympathize more with them than I do Knuckles when watching these episodes. I'm not laughing. I just feel bad for everyone.
STAR:
FAVORITE: A tie between "Fiend Bot" and "Role Models". Sonic acquiring a giant killer robot that wants nothing but his safety and to follow him everywhere is one of the cutest concepts in the show. "Role Models" was a fun episode because of the ridiculous premise that I find hilarious. I also love "Robots From the Sky" Especially because of Mighton and Bolts <3
FUNNIEST: A tie between "Double Doomsday" and "Alone Again, Unnaturally". I agree with all the reasons Multi said about the latter. My favorite joke in the entire show is Sonic trashing Eggman's lair while he's invisible. It's too good. "Double Doomsday" is also hilarious. From the banter between Eggman and Dave through the door Dave locked himself behind, to Eggman getting offended at the way Sonic made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
LEAST FAVORITE: "The Biggest Fan" (I can't watch this one). "Late Night Wars" for making Knuckles look stupid for jokes and both the episodes that Multi mentioned--for the reasons she mentioned--they are unwatchable. I also hate "Knine-to-Five Knuckles" for these reasons as well. I also dislike "Do Not Disturb" for the way the Unbreakable Bond was written.
QWERTY:
FAVORITE: Oh, I have a few that I would watch over and over.
"Cowbot" - Eggman actually made a giant robot cow
"It Takes a Village to Defeat a Hedgehog" - Shadow's just THERE, and just has this beef with Sonic for no reason
"Anything You Can Do I Can Do Worser" - Tails' over competitive nature at play.
"Multi-Tails" - Knux being the bestest babysitter ever
"Cabin Fever" - love eps where they just act like kids
FUNNIEST: I think I have to say "Cabin Fever" is one I just love
LEAST FAVORITE: There are a number I don't like, mostly because they feature characters I don't like, or portray Knux as SUPER dumb, or are just boring. Anything with Nominatus is a hard pass for me. And those frog people.

Robo Knuckles
Okay, a bit of discord writing. Something something, Knuckles is either turned into a robot, or his entire personality and everything that makes him who he is is downloaded into one. Think Metal Sonic, but in this case the bot kinda IS Knuckles. In a way.
I don't remember if we said this was by Eggman, but I don't think it was. Some other group of scientists or something. I dunno.
ANYWAY, this takes place years and years in the future, when Silver finds the long abandoned base where Robo-Knux is still living, his protective and guardian instincts still driving him.
This was started (as a number of these things usually are) by @nights-nonsensical-ramblings, and then I took it over because my brain went GIMME GIMME. I've noted the different places that Night contributed.
Night
As soon as Silver starts fixing up the old base the robot starts to assist. On closer inspection he can see that the robot has been trying to keep this place maintained, but it’s been a losing battle. The stubborn loyalty to his home reminds Silver of the original Knuckles, and he can’t help but feel deja vu from when he’s watched Knuckles work on Angel Island.
But that’s for another day. He still needs to help this poor abandoned robot and he promises he’ll return with more supplies to help fix the base tomorrow.
And for the first time in many many years a promise of fixing is kept.
Me
As they work together to get the place semi-functional again, the robot seems to be more eager to help. He's often standing at the front, waiting for Silver to come back. He doesn't speak, and Silver can't figure out if it's because his audio circuits are damaged, or if he simply can't.
Memories of Metal Sonic flicker through his mind, but Silver dismisses them quickly. This robot doesn't seem to have any ill intent. He actually does seem to be very much like the Knuckles he remembers.
Over time systems are brought back online. Lights flicker to life. Computers long dead blink awake. Silver isn't as good at technology as Tails was, but he can manage. He flicks through various programs, most of which are of no use or long since defunct. Until he finds the one pertaining to the robotic guardian.
Night
The robot stands beside him as he opens it, watching and observing him as he often does when there’s no task to be done. Silver found it creepy at first, but the robot’s gaze seemed oddly soft, like he was both curious and keeping a watchful eye over him.
Me
A lot of the files are corrupted. Silver can't tell the origin of the metal being next to him, but ultimately decides it didn't really matter. He was here now, what point was there to discovering how he'd come to be? The hedgehog decides to search for diagnostics and schematics instead, trying to make sure his new friend is functioning properly.
It's slow going. Silver isn't really technically inclined, and he needs the robot's help to decipher what a lot of the symbols and labels mean. Through trial and error they slowly begin repairing the metal guardian. Fixing some mobility glitches, patching a few frayed wires. They work for days on what appears to be a vocal speaker. Silver nearly fries the robot's ocular input sensors as he attempts to access the necessary components, and that scares the hedgehog so much he backs off, not wanting to do anything more.
Silver's retreated to the far end of the room, arms hugged around himself. What was he doing?? He wasn't Tails, he didn't know anything about machines, this robot trusted him and he'd nearly caused unfixable damage! He should go. Why was he here anyway? This place didn't exactly seem to be a threat, it wasn't useful to keeping the rest of the world safe. Why was he wasting so much time here? Just because this robot looked like someone he used to know?
Heavy footsteps behind him, drawing closer. He turned, and found the robot echidna mere feet from him. His singular functioning LED eye—the one Silver almost damaged—flickered softly as it locked with Silver's own.
"I don't know what I'm doing," Silver said, and he wasn't sure why he spoke aloud. He wasn't even sure if the robot could hear or understand him. "I don't want to hur—damage you any more than you already are."
The echidna-bot stared for a long moment, before reaching forward and taking gentle hold of Silver's wrist. The bot pulled Silver back to the computer terminal, gesturing to continue.
Silver hesitated. The robot stared, tilting its head toward the console. When the hedgehog still didn't move, the bot reached forward and turned him more square before the computer, and gave a little shove.
A little smile curled Silver's lips. It didn't just look like Knuckles. It seemed to have the same impatience, too.
"You sure?" His voice was soft, with a hint of shake. He really didn't want to mess anything else up. "I might make things worse."
The robot gave a curt nod, before pointing with its large metal mitt.
Silver heaved a sigh, before turning back toward the computer. "Okay. Let's do this."
Hours later. Through careful examination, meticulous comparing the picture on the monitor with the innards of the robot, and more than one near panic attack, Silver worked to repair the metal being.
They'd searched through drawers and cabinets, and managed to find a replacement LED for his . . . its right eye. It was bright green instead of violet, but it worked. The bot gave him a thumbs up when it flickered online.
The voice box was more intricate, and the two had argued over the design. Silver managed to remove what he thought was the speaker, but the robot kept gesturing toward the monitor, pointing at a different area.
"That's in your back, why would your voice box be there?"
The robot pointed almost angrily.
"I see it but that doesn't look like what we need!"
More pointing. A loud whirring sound emanated from its chest. It sounded almost like a growl.
"I don't think that's . . . ugh FINE. I'll check it out."
The bot nodded and turned to allow Silver access. The hedgehog was only doing this to show this stubborn bot that this wasn't . . .
Well, damn.
"You were right."
Silver pulled around the little device the robot had pointed to, and it did better match the schematics of the vocal emulator. The robot held its head up a little, and Silver could imagine Knuckles' smug little smile.
"Yeah, yeah. Finding it is one thing. Fixing it is something else."
It took a long time. Days. The wires were so fine, and the innards so delicate, Silver used his psychokinesis to maneuver around inside it, and even that was painstakingly slow.
But eventually it seemed back to functional order. He reinstalled it, triple checking that everything was connected properly before attaching the last wire. Once done, he stood back, brow furrowed in concern.
"Okay. Try to boot it up. Or whatever you call it."
The robot turned to face him, and its LED eyes flickered slightly as it accessed the repaired component. At first there was nothing, and Silver thought he may have either messed it up, or it had been damaged beyond repair. But then a loud, high-pitched whine split the air, and he slapped his hands over his ears.
The whine cut off, replaced with static. The robot beat its chest with a fist.
"zzzz . . . st-- . . . --pid thi-- . . ."
Another solid pound, and something clicked inside it.
". . . did it work?"
Silver's eyes went wide. His hands dropped to his sides and he stared at the robot.
It didn't just look like Knuckles. It didn't just act like Knuckles.
It sounded like Knuckles, too.

You know what’s a neat little thing that I don’t think gets a lot of mention in Pre-Reboot Archie?
The fact there were Things about Mobius Prime that surprised Eggman.
God but issue 92 *sucked*.
But, anyway! Point is- I do actually appreciate these attempts to illustrate that Eggman’s life prior to coming to Mobius Prime and becoming Eggman were not identical to Robotnik Prime’s own, even taking into account the main diverging point of him Roboticizing himself.
Especially when, according to one bio, when said Roboticization happened-
Yep- Eggman was Roboticized a full three years before Robotnik Prime died in Endgame. Which, given that at this point the Robo-Robotnik from Issue Nineteen and Issue Twenty Two were explicitly one and the same (as established in issue Seventy Five), means that the Sonic and company of his zone were partially cyborgified when they were twelve or so... and then nearly killed Robotnik at that age. Eeeesh...
Anyway. I find it fascinating to consider, because some of these differences can be accounted for by the fact that Endgame never happened, while others imply there were other points of divergence even before then.
For example- Eggman being shocked at the existence of Echidnapolis at first seems a bit odd, since given that by the time he finally got his body back on ‘his’ Mobius and obliterated it, you’d think it’d be pretty clear there was an Echidna city on Angel Island by that point. It makes sense that the old Robotnik never knew about it given that he was dead before it came it back, but you’d expect Eggman to know. Yet he is completely surprised. It seems like an oversight... until you remember Endgame.
One of the explicit results of Endgame was that the Ultimate Annhilator’s overloading and subsequently blowing up released energies that weakened the barriers between Zones, and because of that, Echidnapolis and Cavem Canus both were being forced back into the Prime Zone at the same time, resulting in the destruction of the latter. If not for that though? Echidnapolis would never return, and its entirely possible that without Endgame forcing the issue it may never have returned to Angel Island even by the time Robo-Robotnik finally came back and destroyed everything. Now, I don’t know when Guardians in Archie are allowed back into Echidnapolis and told the whole story of things, but I wanna say Eighteen or so. So, Knux would have at least a few more years before finding out the truth of his people, and that knowledge might haven ever left him or Sally.
Kinda makes me wonder how that world’s Julie-Su adjusted to life on Angel Island without any access to the modernity of Echidnapolis...
Likewise though, this would also explain why Eggman didn’t recognize Drago. Since Endgame never happened, he never had any need to associate with Drago or use him in his schemes. It’s interesting how THAT is actually kept rather consistent, that some of the gaps in Eggman’s knowledge are because that One Big Thing never happened.
But then you get the info about Colin, and more intriguing possibilities arise as to how different Eggman’s world was. See, in the Prime Zone, after the Great War Colin led a migration of Overlanders into space to find a new world and as such missed out on Julian taking over Mobius and all the other fun stuff that followed. The quest for a new home was a failure, and Colin’s group returned to Mobius (and unintentionally helped alert the Xorda to the fact life was still on what used to be Earth. Way to go there, Colin).
Eggman’s words here though spell out that he Roboticized his own Colin a while ago, meaning that on HIS Mobius? Colin for whatever reason never left the Great War. And while I doubt it was planned out this way, this would also explain why Eggman never anticipated the Xorda- on his own Mobius, Colin never leaving Mobius means that the Xorda never find their way back to Mobius or try to destroy it, so Eggman is as off-guard as everyone else.
It also makes me wonder if there is some kind of intrinsic difference in the Roboticization process of his own Zone or some kind of subtle difference between the Overlanders of Mobius Prime and the Overlanders of the ‘Cyber Zone’, because that might explain why Roboticization doesn’t work properly on Overlanders... in the Prime Zone anyway.
Where am I going with this? Nowhere in particular, I just find it kind of interesting to note that there WAS an effort made to establish that Eggman’s life was different from Robotnik’s in Archie, small as that effort was. It wasn’t enough to really salvage the whole ‘Replacement from Another Zone’ conceit, especially given how often the writers resorted to spelling it out over and over again. The whole plot point was INCREDIBLY confusing and convoluted... but all the same, I appreciate that effort and find it fascinating, even if it never went anywhere and probably never could.

not sure if ur the one i dumped this headcanon onto many many weeks ago back when i first joined the fandom, but im tempted to bring back this robot dog idea.
Basically, Tails tries to make a companion for Knux that can keep him busy while guarding the Master Emerald so he's not so lonely. What he ends up making is this fucked up malfunctioning robot dog that has a wonky sensor that may have been corroded at one point and also messes up it's mobility and it's voice box is just absolutely fucked.
So he doesn't know what the hell to do with this thing because he can't just give em to Knux like this? So he keeps em. and just. observes this weird fucked up robo puppy doing the strangest shit. Think borderline Wobbledogs, but even more janky.
This dog thing becomes somewhat of an inside joke amongst the friend group.
The strangest thing, however, is that if this robot dog ends up somewhere (for some reason it can sometimes just follow Tails randomly? No one knows HOW it does this since usually it can hardly get around on it's own) where the group start fighting Eggman, Eggman will very intentionally try to avoid "hurting" it. Of course he doesn't say this out loud, but it's obvious that he commands his robots to specifically avoid shooting where the robo pup is, and if Tails picks up the dog the robots stop shooting at him, which is sometimes used to the group's advantage.
The group thinks it's part of how Eggman for some reason values mechanica "lives" over biotic ones, as long as those mechanical beings show some level of personality. This weird little thing has a LOT of personality for a.... very... broken robo pooch, lol. So they think that's why he's weak to it.
yeah this sounds familiar!! i still love it jdfjdj

Sonic Prime Notes Part 2
Episode 3:
Sonic didn't actually collapse in the post Shadow fight, nor did he forget about his friends.
Big is shown further away from the fight thanks to Shadow running into him to get to Sonic.
Rebel Rouge's face crushed in for group hug
"Baddies this way, baddies that way!" Sonic the Hedgehog in Sonic Prime Episode 3
Robots randomly pile up in doorway, allowing the Rebels to escape.
Tails Nine does not have cybernetics as he flies.
Sonic falls down to the bottom floor, which is awkward.
Nine's robo tails only use regular Tails' flying animation for his tails.
Dr. Deep 'Lost them', even though they're on camera.
Nine's walkng speed is faster than his octo-crawl.
The problem of Sonic feeling 'Guilty' about him not listening, Even though it was in Eggman's HANDS and there was NO OTHER OPTION
"Eggman didn't create the world, I did." Even though Sonic pulled the ME Shattering onto the Paradox Prism.
Sonic Slapstick Moment: 35
Episode 4:
"It's not like answers are gonna fall from the sky!" has three others fall out of the sky
Sonic keeps on making potshots at Knuckles, no matter the variation.
Sonic immediately goes 'Can you hear me?' Yet Tribal Rouge asks if they heard something.
Tribal Knuckles is Sticks in this universe.
Sonic needs to fix up a situation, because he accidentally caused the others to lose their food supply.
Also Games Sonic has better control of his speed.
Robutt joke
Sonic should have realized instantly that he's in a new world as soon as he saw sunlight.
Mangey, the Tails of Boscage Cage, is portrayed as a feral beast with not much else going on in his head. He also seems to be treated like a pet.
All the boys are utter idiots, and Gnarly is insane.
Sonic doesn't want the monster to show their face.
"Can't step on the gas!" when he's used to running in jungles already.
Thorn is the monster… And she looks like Sonia.
Thorn is an overenthusiastic environmentalist in comparison, when it would have been better if Cave!Eggman had been using her to prevent the others from scavenging.
Sonic is making good points to Thorn, but Thorn is not listening because she needs to be an antagonist for two episodes.
Thorn: "Do you ever stop Talking?" Sonic: "No, not really." <- Not Sonic's character to chat incessantly.
Thorn makes excuses as to why she shouldn't be listening to Sonic, yet they gave Sonic greater points over Thorn's, which comes across as 'I'm the adult, you're not'.
Sonic Slapstick Moment: 49
Episode 5:
Straight into flashback, AGAIN
Sonic could have made memories in more than one specific location in Green Hill - and yet the others are focused on one specific trees.
Implies that there is buildings in Green Hill, yet besides Tails' Workshop, we don't see the other buildings.
Amy gets pissed off over Sonic's disinterest in her way of memorizing, and gets snippy with him instead of actually explaining to him what he did wrong, like her actual self would do.
Sonic is still trying to talk to Thorn, even Thorn has admitted she wants to 'Shut everyone out'. Both in a literal sense, and a figurative sense.
Thorn is shutting out the sun to shut out the Scavengers, thus killing the undergrowth.
Sonic - literally trapped, has both the Spindash and his claws to get of his wood prison.
Sonic literally says "Wow, I really should have thought about that sooner" about his prison. KILL ME.
Sonic goes 'Gotta go fast'.
Sonic took the hammer easily in the last episode, yet can't get her to let go of it now.
Thorn went insane because she saw the others dropped too many fruits and veggies in Rouge's perspective.
Sonic is stupid at communication.
Sonic Talking to trees: OK Sonic talking to dead robots: not ok
Thorn overcovering the canopy killed the tree. Then it gets revived.
'Gotta go fast' AGAIN
Sonic Slapstick Moment: 56
Episode 6:
Operation: Cheese?
Knux says 'who's with me?' even though it's all Resistance with him.
Knux is angry at Sonic for jumping dimensions.
Rebel Rouge immediately blames Sonic for Nine's failure.
THE SHOW OBSESSES ABOUT THE FUCKING TREE ON THE BEACH BY THE ROCK.
Despite Sonic being a 'traitor', the NPCs of the Resistance seem happy to be saved by sonic.
Nine steals Sonic from New Yoke, thus making Sonic's promise null and void.
Nine throws Sonic back to New Yoke, without considering coming back
NPC run off cowering despite bing all gung ho before
Nine, despite telling Sonic he won't come back, decides to change his mind offscreen
Nine gets easily bat by not paying attention.
Sonic Slapstick Count: 60
Episode 7:
Flashback repeat of episode 2
Shadow used Chaos Control to jump in between dimensions when the Shattering ocurred, even though both the Paradox Prism and the Chaos Emeralds alter Space-Time.
Only one Chaos Emerald, instead of the usual seven.
Sonic has Aquaphobia, only seen in Sonic Underground, Sonic X, and does NOT appear in the games.
Sonic is terrified of water, even though he can run over it.
Coconuts are alcohol now.
Sprites used again, only it's Sonic 3
Also, using Dorkly style animation, ala Sonic For Hire.
Sonic is meeting Knuckles for the first time at the ME, even though they met more times before that.
Implications of both the ME, and Angel Island existing, but the 'whole world' is Green Hill.
Sonic decides to attack Dread, even though the pirates have been more courteous than anyone else in the multiverse.
Finally, the Pirate crew give Sonic respect.
Pirate!Tails is called 'Sails'. Kill me.
Sonic Slapstick Count: 62
Episode 8:
Honestly, Rusty gets 1 good moment, with the 'I wish I were programmed to laugh'.
The ship is called 'The Angel's Voyage'
Black Rose is surprisingly absent.
Rusty Rose decides to give up sinking Sonic because she sees her counterpart Black Rose.
Nine immediately gives up Sonic because he's an asshole
WHY IS THE MOTHERSHIP NOT IN PRISMSPACE????
Knuckles the Dread actually has a good character and motivations, which makes previous characters more the baffling in characterization.
Seadogs apparently can beat robots from another universe.
Again, Sonic prioritizes his friends over the mission. Which again, does not make sense if Sonic is supposed to learn about Friendship.
Sonic is more competent in this fight scene than all the other fight scenes before.
Sonic almost gets Rusty, but the show moves Rusty away so she can have a cool standing moment with the destruction of the other robots.
Shadow blames Sonic for the loss of the World, even though Eggman had it in his hands.
Shadow's end punch makes Sonic drift away slowly, so IDK what Sonic was panicking about.
Sonic Slapstick Count: 70
All (current as of December 18th, 2022) episode notes done and over with.
... Why the FUCK are the Pirate Episodes the only good episodes???

DISREPAIR ERROR_422: Episode 2
The Pizzeria: Chapter 4
Silence.
Awkward silence.
Five robots and a time traveler sat in the silence far longer than any of them expected as they processed the events of the day, none of them quite sure what to do about it now. There was a familiarity to the scene they weren’t fully ready to come to terms with, leading them to not wanting to acknowledge it. Eventually the time traveler could no longer evade the scowl from the taller red robot, though she’d been desperately trying to do so. His gaze hadn’t moved from her since they returned to the underground base and all it took was one glance his way, hoping his attention had gone elsewhere only to find out it hadn’t, and the silence finally ended.
“You knew I’d be back here.” The accusation was as sharp as his scowl.
She could only offer a sheepish smile and a shrug, “Not… exactly?”
“In the other world. Chasing after the ruby. You asked if-”
“Okay in my defense!” Itara interrupted, though jerked back further against RK when Zero’s eyes narrowed. “That was right after all of this happened,” she waved her white-streaked arm up and towards her still-damaged entire right side, including the now permanently magenta sclera and paled green eye, “Nothing made a whole lot of sense to me at the time and I’ve intentionally tried not to think about it since. I saw a LOT of different timelines all meshed together then, I had no idea what was relevant to this timeline, nor did I know when this would happen, either.”
“So how did this all happen this time, anyway?” RK questioned, keeping one arm wrapped almost fully around Itara and tightening his grip ever so slightly. The unvoiced threat was enough to cause Zero’s expression to drop back into annoyance.
Itara sighed, looking around at everyone present, studying the newcomers carefully before closing her eyes and rocking her head side to side in thought. “You guys said you were chasing Sigma through some portal, right?”
“Correct,” X nodded, “He reappeared with a considerable army of Mavericks, we were headed to his main base to face him when he activated some kind of portal. Zero, Axl, and I followed him through, but lost sight of him and when we stepped out… well. You know the rest.”
“I still find it odd that he reappeared so soon. But I suppose that’s an issue for later.” Itara dropped her head to one side and hummed in confusion before opening her eyes again, “The energies in our world have been in flux since the battle with Solaris. It never fully stabilized, so it's possible we’re simply acting as a midpoint of crossing energies, considering the merge. We may be permanently tapped into other worlds now, even if it’s slight. To be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sigma ended up here, after all, whether he meant to or not.” She turned back towards Metal, who was leaned up against the computer console behind them, “Can you run a scan for energies from X and Zero’s world? We should still have readings for them. If Sigma’s here, we’re going to want to know.”
Metal nodded and turned around towards the desk, “Who even is this ‘Sigma’ anyway?”
Itara shrugged, “I don’t actually know,” she turned back towards the guest robots, “X told me he was previously a Maverick Hunter like him, but went rogue?”
“He was infected by a virus and turned hostile,” the blue bot frowned, “We’ve fought him numerous times now but he’s always got a backup somewhere that we’ve yet to find.”
Itara’s brows furrowed, sitting up straight and putting the side of her finger to her mouth, “Then it’s possible the Sigma you were fighting was a backup, rather than the one I sent forward in time. That could explain why he reappeared so quickly. If he is here, you need to make sure to destroy this one so it doesn’t cause a paradox when the other one reappears, if that’s the case.” She looked up again, watching the realization hit the bots from the other world. Zero’s eyes only narrowed, but X and Axl had much more obvious responses. Axl, in particular, recoiled in horror. He seemed to be far more reactive than the other two. She tried to imagine this fiery new guy running around with the ever-cold, no-nonsense Zero and almost chuckled at the mental image. Unfortunately, said no-nonsense bot caught sight of her amusement and scowled.
“And what’s so funny about this? Even after we solve the issues you caused in our world, we’re still somehow dealing with them.”
“Hey, don’t look at me, I didn’t put the Phantom Ruby in your world to begin with. If anything, I solved those problems by finding it and removing it from your world.”
“Do you expect gratitude?”
“From you?" Itara scoffed, "I’d sooner ask Sparky to give up violence.”
“Good.”
She rolled her eyes but continued, “In any case. You ending up here is far less a mystery than me ending up in the pizzaplex, considering I had nothing to do with getting there. We'll keep an eye out for activity from Sigma or any other fluctuations, but I think we need to go back and examine that building. Did the power ever turn back on?”
“Not while I was still there,” X explained.
“And there's no reading from it still. I tried getting into the surveillance system but the line was blocked,” Metal added, turning back towards them again and crossing his arms, “I don't imagine a pizza shop has enough security to keep me out of it, so it's a safe assumption it's simply still offline.”
“Right. Then we should return… tomorrow. Investigating the building with everything offline may make it easier. No defenses.”
“Why wait for tomorrow?”
“Because its appearance is going to garner attention. If we want to investigate with as few interruptions as possible, it's best to go tomorrow. Sonic and Tails are going to look into it today, with the evacuations handled and I'm not letting you in the same room.”
Metal clicked in disapproval but Itara only shook her head, “Besides. If I've been gone for two days,” her voice lowered as her expression grew wary, “a certain jackal is going to be annoyed with me because I'll have missed our training day.”
“Ah. Right,” RK spoke up, as if realizing something.
“Mama Bear already handled it,” Metal waved the thought away. “The jackal got his training.”
Itara’s expression fell, leaning back to stare up at the echidna, “RK… what did you do?”
“He wanted to train and I wanted to punch something. It seemed fitting.”
“RK it's not that kind of training!”
The warbot shrugged, “He got to use that damn ruby,” grinning, “once.”
Itara sighed and dropped her head to the side again, whining under her breath. “He’s gonna be so mad at me. I should go find him and explain-”
“No need.” She sighed all the more dramatically as the room around them shifted and warped in an all-too-familiar way, causing the others to immediately stiffen, ready to strike, but Itara only huffed and jumped off RK’s lap. “I’m already here, Demon Child.”
“Infinite, now is not the time!”
“Rich coming from the time traveler.” The voice seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere, causing the bots clearly unfamiliar with the jackal’s tactics to whip around in search of the source. However, those who’d faced him once before only looked out, knowing he was in no one direction. With little else for warning, the entire room tilted sideways, though only enough to throw the hedgehog off-balance and not the much heavier, on-edge robots. Purple fog covered the time traveler’s feet as she righted herself, floating ever-so-slightly off the uneven ground to keep herself stable.
But no sooner had she righted herself than the floor opened into a deep, endless pit below her, flickering with hundreds of small black and red boxes around the edges. With a glance down and around at the bots, two of which looked ready to destroy the entire room to find the threat, Itara’s spines crystallized before melting completely into a cloud of purple fog. The fog dashed down through the opened pit, sparking with a violent purple energy, disappearing only a moment before reappearing from the ceiling, knocking the jackal back into the physical world and down to the floor, shattering the illusion as soon as he hit the cold tile. The fog followed quickly after, materializing back into the hedgehog as she landed on him with a second thud before he had a chance to recover. She shook her head to straighten herself out before looking down at the frustrated black and white jackal underneath her, dizzy from the sudden impact but cognizant enough to scowl up at her.
“Get off me.”
“I am literally half your size. Make me.”
However, as soon as he tried to shove the hedgehog aside, two glowing purple dog-like creatures bolted from the shadows and snarled at both arms, threatening to tear them off should he move an inch more. Itara only sat, staring with blazing green eyes down at the attacker-turned-prey. Challenging him. Much to her amusement, he responded in kind by making copies of her Biters, distracting the original two long enough to throw her off and scramble to his feet, though she was back to hers just as quick. The two stared one another down for several long moments before Itara blinked, her eyes returning to normal, though she remained cautiously floating still.
“See? That wasn’t so hard, was it? Your copies are almost solid again, even.”
Despite the praise, the scowl on the jackal’s face only deepened and his stance remained rigid. Instead, he hissed out her least favorite new nickname and took another step back. “You forget our training again and this time have the gall to send your attack dog at me, instead.”
“I didn’t forget and I didn’t send RK to do anything. He’s also not a dog.” She eyed him a moment longer before releasing the fog and putting her feet back on solid ground again, dispersing the Biters that were still keeping the jackal at length. “It’s a long story, but I ended up… elsewhere for a couple days and only just returned. It’s not my fault you caught RK at a bad time. You should know better by now not to test him. Neither he nor Metal have any qualms with destroying you still.”
She watched him a moment longer before determining he wouldn’t attack and turned back towards the other bots to dissuade any further attack, knowing their guests from another world likely wouldn’t understand the sudden appearance. “Infinite, you remember Zero, right? He came with me to your world. He and his friends ended up in the same place I did. It seems there’s some kind of merge or crossing happening again, which means I may end up needing your help dealing with this. It seems an ideal time to test your powers and see if they’re stable enough to use.” She glanced back at him once she reached RK again.
“Why should I help anyone?”
“We would appreciate any help dealing with Sigma,” X spoke up, taking a step forward towards the disgruntled jackal, offering a friendly hand, “He’s dangerous and the sooner he’s taken down, the better for everyone.”
Infinite only stared up at the much taller blue bot with a narrowed eye, though before anyone could respond further, a beep came from the computer, drawing everyone’s attention to it. The scanner confirmed a reading on the signature, which was concerning enough on its own, but once Metal turned back to the computer to pull up the location of the reading, the air went cold. There was, indeed, a reploid reading in their world, other than the three present… square in the center of a large forest, far away from any city, in a known Robotnik base.
The silence was heavy once more. All eyes were on the map, watching cautiously, watching the signature not move, even as Metal zoomed the map in further, switching to a nearby camera he easily gained access to, to confirm that it was, indeed, a Robotnik base. Itara let out a long, quiet breath with the confirmation. That was a problem.
“So we know where he is!” Narrowed eyes moved to the previously quiet third other-worlder, “we should head there right now and take care of this!” Axl looked around at the wary stares, an eye narrowing in confusion, “Right?”
“I guess you wouldn’t know,” Itara frowned, looking at the camera feed again, “That’s Robotnik’s currently active base. Which means Sigma and Robotnik have met.” Looking back again, she explained to the still confused robot, “Robotnik is basically our world’s equivalent of Sigma. He’s… for lack of a better term, an evil genius. He’s the creator of almost every sentient robot in this world, but uses them for… well, constant world domination plans-”
“Tch, if he uses them at all,” Metal scoffed.
Itara nodded, “He’s brilliant… in a way, he created all four of us, but he only uses that brilliance for trouble. Metal and RK. The Phantom Ruby. Pulled me out of the scepter-”
“Excuse you! I did that!” Metal interrupted again, scowling, gaining a side eye and a grin from Itara as she waved him down.
“Okay, okay, Robotnik stole the scepter but Metal created me. Under the doctor’s orders. In either case, he’s smart and dangerous and if he and Sigma end up working together, we may be in more trouble than I’d hoped.” Taking a deep breath, she puffed her chest out and put her hands on her hips, standing as tall as she got, “Very well! I’ll just have to go look into this, myself.”
“Hold up,” RK jumped to attention before she could get far, “What do you mean look into it?”
The purple fog covered Itara’s feet again as she prepared to sink back into it but she turned up to RK, “I can go in, find out what they’re up to, and come back so we know what we’re working with. Don’t worry, they won’t know I’m there. In and out.”
“Check your journal first.”
She blinked a couple times before sighing and solidifying her feet again, “fine, fine. I will check the journal first.”
“Since when do you go in so quickly without several plans?” Metal questioned, almost sounding offended by the abrupt decision, moving beside RK to nearly hover over the tiny time traveler.
“I was just gonna go look!” she whined, but pulled the black notebook down from the nearby counter, flipping it open and to the next empty page, “I have to go see to make a note of it in the first place, after all. If I never go…,” her complaint trailed off as she flipped to the final page of notes, her ears immediately flattening against her head. “Oh.”
“So there is something,” RK frowned, “what is it?”
Itara remained silent for a few seconds, reading through the scratchy, somewhat frantic notes scrawled across the page. On the one hand, she was glad her powers were stable enough that the notebook was useful again, but the warnings on the page were concerning. “Apparently I should, in fact, not go anywhere near Robotnik, specifically.”
“What if one of us goes?” Metal questioned.
“The only note is to not go near Robotnik, that I’ll be… captured, if I do. That’s… concerning. The implications of that are…,” she trailed off again before shaking her head, “it says nothing about you guys but just to be safe, I think it’s best we don’t chance it.” She looked to X, instead, “I guess we’re leaving this to you guys. I can’t promise what you’ll find but I think it might be best if someone more familiar with Robotnik goes with you. He was hiding in the space station the entire time you guys were here before, you know nothing of his tactics. He’s crafty.”
“You forget I worked with him several months before even meeting you,” Zero argued, crossing his arms and leaning back against the nearby work station. “Though I admit, he did fool even me at the time.”
Itara nodded, “Eggman is conniving above all things, especially if you aren’t familiar with this world.”
“Who do you suggest then?”
Itara glanced at Infinite for a moment before shaking her head, watching the insult spread across his face almost instantly before looking down. Infinite wasn’t ready to face Robotnik yet. None of them could go. Kipper was definitely not the answer. Someone strong enough to deal with anything Robotnik might be plotting and familiar enough with his tactics to not be caught or swayed.
The answer was a little too obvious.
“I have an idea… but I think it’s best if we continue this tomorrow. You guys can look into what’s going on with Sigma and Robotnik while we look into the Pizzaplex. I would recommend just sticking to recon or minimal interaction for now, though. If they’re prepared enough for me to go in there, unseen, there’s no telling what you guys will face.”
“If we know where he is, we should eradicate him immediately!” Axl snapped, but was immediately dissuaded by X, who shook his head.
“No, I think she’s right. Things in this world are… quite a bit different than ours. We should be cautious. We’ll scout the situation out and make a decision from there.”
Itara nodded along with him, glad SOMEONE finally listened to her when they should and set her notebook back on the counter, “You guys can rest here for now, we still have charging stations fitted to Zero’s tech you should hopefully be able to use. I’ll get in contact with someone who can help you out and tell them to meet us here tomorrow morning to explain everything. The three of us will head back to the pizzeria afterwards. Feel free to come back here after you finish scouting or whatever you decide to do.” She looked back and forth between X and Axl, knowing Zero spent plenty of time at the house already.
She didn’t figure X needed much warning, but she wasn’t sure about this Axl guy and focused on him, specifically, “I don't recommend starting fights you can't finish while you're here.” The warning caught the clearly younger bot by surprise, but his surprise quickly turned to a challenge. Itara’s tone flattened as she continued, “Zero is familiar with everyone here and what they're capable of and X is too friendly for his own good, but you look like a troublemaker.” X flustered slightly at the comment while Zero rolled his eyes. “Just be warned… This world is recovering from a battle of Gods. We're all conditioned to fight… and everyone left are the survivors of a war. Don't pick fights you won't be able to finish.” She let the silence sit for a moment, watching the defensive aggression slip from the bot’s face before smiling and tipping her head again, “What you do is your decision, though. It's no crystals off my spines if you lose a few limbs while you're here. Just don't say I didn't warn you.”
She’d be lying if she said the brief look of unease on the bot’s face wasn’t entertaining. Sometimes she missed being able to vaguely threaten people, watch the different emotions play out on their faces as the gears clicked in their heads. It was fun. But she tried not to do it as much anymore. She’d overcome her fear of Sonic through the years, but Shadow would forever feel like a looming threat, should she step too far out of line. Even more so since her new release from the scepter.
But with the warning given, she stood back up straight and turned for the stairs, “I’ll go contact someone who can help you guys out, you should make sure the charging ports are compatible! RK can help you out if things need to be adjusted. Infinite, meet me in the woods nearby and we’ll do a short bit of training.” She listened long enough to hear RK shift towards the computers while X moved to help him out, as well as a quiet grumble from Infinite before he vanished from the basement. She continued up to the main house where she would make the call. She didn’t want Metal or RK to hear who she was talking to. It would be precarious enough when they came to the house tomorrow.

I bet y’all 5 bucks Amy’s gonna be the friend that gets infected :0
Sonic mentioned early in #16 he needed to see her and say he’s fine, and that last shot of the city could be where the old hq is at/where he’s headed 🤔 hmm.... I can’t really see any other friend of Sonic’s getting infected that would seem necessary for the story.
Tails’s brains is still needed to find the cure, Knux is isolated on angel island so he can’t be touched, the chaotix are fine, team dark will be fine, tangle is with tails, whisper (hmm not sure), silver and blaze are off doing their thing, so by process of elimination, I reckon poor Amy’s gonna get the robo-flu :(
It make sense story wise too! Imagine the soul of the team, the tactician, his love interest kicks it- that raises the stakes and the audience gets to see more of Sonic’s rarer moments of panic over the virus. Sure, he can manage to push aside his feelings for the mission, but what happens to his morale when he sees his friend get hurt again?? (Amy technically dies in Lost World in front of his eyes, remember that?)
I dunno, either way I’m intrigued with Mr. Flynn’s plan for this arc. Can’t wait to see what happens!
#idw sonic#sonic#sonic the hedgehog#will I ever shut up about this?? I don’t even know anymore buddy 😅#I’m supposed to be working and this just popped in my head oof#cel speaks

🔥The Sonic robots other than Metal
I’m not against the idea of Tails Doll being a creepy little mofo, but the idea that he’s “demon possessed” is lazy and the creepypasta at large bores me. A friend of mine once wrote him more like that he studied psychology and used that in combination with some bugs in his system that caused things like his voice box to malfunction specifically to mess with people and I find that infinitely more interesting than “lawl it’s demon possessed”
I often see Robo Knuckles portrayed as an ultra hyper violent edgelord and I just kind of find that predictable and boring says the person who writes a SatAM AU of Metal Sonic as a violent psycho
Silver Sonic and Mecha Sonic I headcanon as being the same robot. Same hardware/mind, but different bodies. I also don’t see him as having developed sentience.
The Hardboiled Heavies I wish had been an intentional design of Eggman’s rather than implied to have been altered by the Phantom Ruby also fuck the Phantom Ruby. They should have been the bosses in Forces as well rather than the phantom clone BS
Metal Amy needs legs, goddamit
Mecha Sally was a great idea and I loved it fight me. Not saying I didn’t have my problems with the execution and there are DEFINITELY things I would have done differently but all the same I loved it. Fight me. That said I wish her initial design before she was upgraded looked more robian-esque - she looked designed, not roboticized.
Mecha/Roboticized Sonic’s design is clunky and overrated. Mecha Knux’s too
“Metallix” should be a catch-all term for robotic clones outside of StC. Metal Sonic the Metallix, Robo Knuckles the Metallix, Shard the Metallix, etc

Chapter 25: TEAM CHAOTIX!
"I am Espio the Chameleon. Me and my friends, both new and old, are preparing a strike on Robotnik's base on Angel Island. I am leading the charge in my own way... Here we go!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the Robotnik base, Metal Sonic exits an elevator from the surface, walking in to see preparations for Robotnik's new army being completed. "My, you are late," says a voice on the wall behind him.
Behind was a relatively tall spider Mobian, six arms folded with a distinct female figure and wearing all black ninja gear, with only her sapphire eyes visible. Metal turns to her, glaring silently.
"Oh don't give me that look. Robotnik hired me to look out for this base and I've been doing my job. Those idiots are coming here soon and are bound to enter," the spider explains, one pair of arms uncrossing to shrug. As Metal was about to send an order to mobilize, she grabs his hand stops him. "Easy there, metal one. Have patience. I know your last defeat was unsatisfactory, but have a cool head. You'll get another chance at that hedgehog. But don't let him be your sole mindset..."
Listening, Metal lowers his hand, looking back at the spider who obviously had a plan.
Meanwhile, outside, an invisible Espio sneaks above the guarding Egg Robos and lands behind them. Tossing a kunai at one, he lunges at the other and stabs both at the same time, deactivating them both. Vector, Charmy, Knuckles, Mighty, and a now awake Ray come out of hiding and meet up with Espio.
"Ya saw what that blue guy typed earlier, right Espio?" Vector asked, with Espio giving a thumbs up.
"S-So... What's the plan...?" Ray asked, looking at his friends.
"Smash everything! We pound robots harder than a chef pounds dough for pizza!" Charmy yells, with Vector slamming a hand over his mouth.
"Quiet, buzz boy! Otherwise, you'll blow our cover!" he whispers with Charmy nodding.
"Be on guard. We may see some unwelcoming traps up ahead," Espio warned as he typed in the elevator password, calling the lift.
"Alright, Knux. You know Robotnik better. You take first point," Vector says.
"Gladly. Stay close and don't get separated," Knuckles instructs as they all enter the elevator.
As they descended, Vector couldn't help complement the choice of elevator music. Once the doors open, the group exit and find the things quiet.
"...This is a base, right?" Mighty asks, with Knuckles confirming. "Then...why is it...so quiet?"
As the group looked around, Espio suddenly sees something invisible. "KNUCKLES! STOP NOW!" Espio shouts in a panic, Knuckles pausing as he sees a thin thread of silk. "That silk could slice through metal if it any pressure is put on it. But that kind of silk belongs to..."
"A graduate of the School of Ninjas, Espio?" asked a voice in the shadows, alerting the group.
"Thread the Arachne..." Espio confirms, recognizing her voice.
"Good to see you, Espio. I guess one defeat wasn’t enough for you, so you came back for another," Thread says before the lights turn off.
"Hey! I've gone blind!" Charmy shouts.
"Someone turn on the sun!" Vector calls out before something rushes at them.
Vector is hit by a rocket punch by Metal Sonic, knocking him to a wall. Espio dodges some thread, but gets an elbow to his chest before a kick to a crate.
"Darn it! We can't fight like this! Fan out and find a light switch!" Knuckles shouts out before Metal charges at him from behind.
Espio avoids another hit, but he had to concentrate. This darkness...it was a cover up. He had to clear his mind and visualize the room. Just as he was about to get struck in the face, he tossed a kunai, stabbing the light switch and turning on the lights.
"There we go! Fightin' blind ain't as good as fightin' dirty!" Vector shouts before surprising Metal with a sudden grab and slam to the floor.
Thread was kicked by Charmy, forcing her to let go of Espio as he was pinned to a crate. "Clever, Espio... You've learned a thing or two since our last encounter..." Thread says, a bit annoyed as she jumps back from the two.
Metal looks at the situation and decided to go to Plan B, rushing away from Knuckles and Vector. "Hey! Get back here!" Knuckles shouted as he rushed after Metal.
"Ray! We've gotta go help Knuckles. I don't like the way that metal guy just bailed," Mighty says as Ray nods.
"Get going you two! Team Chaotix will handle things from here!" Vector shouts as he glares at Thread.
"You'll handle things? Not if I...handle you first," Thread says before slashing her hands, sending out thin strands of silk to slice at the trio.
"Boy, I got it hand it to ya. You certainly...roped us in," Vector puns before grabbing crate and tossing it at Thread. This forces her to sling herself back into the darkness just above the lights to hide.
"You three are a nuisance..." Thread states from the shadows. "Espio, are you really going to fight a lady one-on-three?"
Espio glares before smirking, looking to his friends. "We stick together..."
"WE FALL TOGETHER! TEAM CHAOTIX!" the three shout in unison.
“My, you three aren’t very bright, are you?" she shouts before coming down to stomp on Vector, knocking him to the floor. “Let’s just see how strong your teamwork truly is then.”
"Urgh! Sorry, lady! But I ain't no weak croc!" he shouts before taking her off him and throwing her to the floor.
She catches herself as she glares at the trio. But she moves to the side as three kunai try to impale her head, thrown by Espio. "Your words still sting, Thread. But no more. I have allies that I can rely on," he says before vanishing.
She glares before smiling. "Oh?" she asks before Charmy and Vector suddenly fall.
"Wha-!? Vector! Charmy!" Espio shouts in shock, glaring at her now.
"My dear shadow venom spiders are quite cute, aren't they? So stealthy as well," Thread says, two small reveal themselves on Charmy and Vector's backs before vanishing in smoke. "Your friends aren’t dead... Though they will be if you can’t defeat me soon enough."
Espio gritted his teeth as he readied a kunai. He couldn’t afford to lose this fight now.
Thread looked at Espio before raising her six hands, threads starting to form in her hands, turning into traditional weaponry made of silk. In this case, six katana blades. She knelt down and readied herself for a quick end to the fight.
As the two stared down, there was a flash as they attack in the blink of an eye, both standing on each other’s starting place. They stayed in a post attack pose before Espio falls. "Hmph. Years have passed, and yet you have not improved very much," she says as she takes off her mask, revealing a pale face surrounded by a black head, twin tails styled hair on the sides of her head. She lacked any nose or visible ears. "Know this, Espio. Chun’nun will fall for having betrayed me. If you want to stop me... Then be ready for our next encounter." She then tosses down a smoke bomb and vanishes.
After leaving, Espio simply looks down at his knife before revealing what he really was aiming for. Antidote potions to cure the venom. In the moment they crossed, he took the hit just so he could grab the antidotes without being noticed. "...Chun’nun betrayed you, Thread? What did you mean by that...?"
He then proceeds to give both Vector and Charmy the antidotes before sighing. "...Team Chaotix."
Knuckles, Mighty, and Ray chase after Metal Sonic who stops in front of a machine. "Got you now!" Knuckles shouts as he readies his fists. "You're not going anywhere this time...you Sonic wannabe!"
Metal Sonic's eyes flash before wires travel down onto his body, connecting him to them. Energy goes into his body, causing him to start changing.
Knuckles begins to back up a bit as Mighty and Ray look up in fear. Metal Sonic had transformed into a red metal monster, him letting out a roar.
"Somethin' tells me he didn't like your sass, Knux," Mighty states before dodging a claw as Metal Sonic attempts to crush the trio.
Ray flies around the robot, sticking his tongue out. "Can't catch me!" he taunts as Metal attempts to fire a beam at Ray.
Mighty runs in and gets down on a knee. "C'mon, mate! I'll boost ya up there! Give 'im a good whack!" he shouts with Knuckles taking the advice and going in for a boosted punch to Metal's face, sending him flying back from the force of the punch.
Ray catches Knuckles and spins, sending him flying at Metal's chest, him punching it hard enough to dent it. Angered, Metal let out a shield over his body to avoid further damage. "Great. We got him on the back foot," Knuckles says with a smirk.
"B-But how do we break that shield?" Ray asks as Knuckles begins to think.
"Hey, Mighty. How many rings do you bet if I try what that robot used to transform? Think I can transform too?" Knuckles asked, with Mighty just shrugging.
"Worth a shot," Mighty says before rushing to keep Metal busy. "Oi! Oily butt! You may be bigger and tougher! But you're not better!"
Metal takes the bait and aims a blast at Mighty, which he dodges, while Knuckles sneaks by Metal and connects the wires manually. "I knew it... Robotnik just couldn't let go of the Master Emerald... These wires must run to some machine draining the Master Emerald from below. I certainly didn't feel any disturbance but now? No doubt about it."
Knuckles began to channel energy into himself from the Master Emerald. "Two can play at that game, Robotnik! Haaaaaaaa!" he roars as he began to transform...into a pink, floating Echidna. "Hyper Knuckles!"
"Wholy cow!" Mighty shouts in shock, seeing Knuckles floating.
Metal turns to Knuckles, roaring at him before Knuckles just reels back. "Have a nice fall!" the Echidna shouts before punching at Metal, going right through him before causing the monster robot to explode.
Metal, reduced to a weakened normal form, begins to spark, his form too weak to continue and his jet offline. As Hyper Knuckles descends to finish off the robot, a flashbang bounces between them and explodes, blinding Knuckles back to his base form. When he is able to see, Metal is just gone.
Outside, Vector is able to let off a successful cheer as victory washed over him. "Man! I can't believe we actually won down there! Makes me feel like headbanging to my songs all day long!" he shouts, turning up his music loud and proud.
"Yeah, me too!" Charmy shouts, joining in as Ray decided to join in too.
"Well, that is one trouble out of the way, but... What about a way home?" Mighty asked curiously.
"That is an issue. We don't have a plane anymore..." Espio brings up as Knuckles returns from the base.
"Well good news. I found you guys a way off the island safely," Knuckles says before smiling. "A few of Robotnik's ships are in the base ready for take off. You guys can take those if you want."
"Really? Gee... I hope I can fly it..." Ray says, a little nervous at the idea.
"What about the base itself, Knux?" Charmy asked, curious as to what Knuckles plans to do with it now robot free.
"I'm gonna smash up a lot of Robotnik's junk, but... I may turn it into my own hangout spot. Maybe even move the Master Emerald in there if I feel its necessary," Knuckles says, thinking it'd be a waste (of time) destroying such a nice little home. "We'll see."
"Alright then. Well if you happen to lose that emerald, you give us a call, kay, Knux?" Vector says before the two fist bump.
"You got it, Vector," Knuckles says with a nod and smile.
The group leave on one of Robotnik's Egg Mobiles, Knuckles bidding them farewell as he continues his lonely life on the island...
Meanwhile, at Robotnik's underwater base, a group of robots was being delivered into the weapons bay to be fine tuned, all while a massive battleship is being built.
In the monitor room, Thread was on the call with Robotnik. "Yes, I secured your robots and got some information on that Emerald you wanted. There is more to it than it initially appears. Almost like there is something in it," she explains.
"Excellent. That confirms my suspicions from the murals my robots picked up from the Mystic Ruins! Now we have all we need to begin my next plan. As soon as the Egg Carrier is finished," Robotnik says with a laugh.
"Now... My payment is quite simple... And I do not desire mere coins or money..." Thread says with a smile, which intrigues Robotnik. "I want power... Power to make Chun’nun suffer for betraying me..."
What sinister plans does Robotnik have in store with the Master Emerald? And will Sonic and friends be able to stop his tyranny? Find out next time...on Sonic the Hedgehog!
